Opening Prayer: Father, please help not miss the Lamb’s marriage supper. Give me new strength to prepare daily for it in the name of Jesus. 

Previous Knowledge: The Teacher should allow students to review the previous week’s lesson.

Memory Verse: “And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me. These are the true sayings of God”-Revelation 19:9.

BIBBLE PASSAGE: Revelation 19:1-9.

Marriage, in this context, symbolises the union between Christ and the Church (Eph. 5:22-23). It is, however, important to note that the Marriage Supper of the Lamb is the next event after the first phase of the second coming of Christ (The Rapture). 

LESSON AIM: To study the descriptions, the importance and qualifications for the marriage supper of the Lamb. 

TEACHING OBJECTIVES: Through this lesson, students should be able to: a. Describe the marriage supper of the Lamb.

b. Understand the importance and qualifications for the Marriage supper of the Lamb. 

TEACHING PLAN: To attain the above-stated objectives, the teacher should: a. Explain the details of the Marriage Supper of the Lamb to the students paying attention to the meaning, time, personalities, importance and qualification. 

b. Summarise, conclude, evaluate the lesson and give assignments to the students and take the closing prayer.

TEXT REVIEW: Revelation 19:1-9.

“Saying Alleluia; salvation and glory, and honour and power unto the Lord our God”. (Rev. 19:1). THe word “Alleluia” appeared in three other phrases and sentences in the passage. For instance:

i. “And again he said, “Alleluia” (Rev. 19:3).

ii. “….saying, Amen; Alleluia (Rev. 19:4).

iii. “….saying “Alleluia, for the Lord God Omnipotent reigneth”. (Rev. 19:6).

ACTIVITY: Apostle John gave some reasons why God was praised with the great voice of “Alleluia”. Teachers should identify five (5) reasons.

LESSON OUTLINE 1: DESCRIPTION OF THE MARRIAGE 

Teacher should give vivid description of the marriage of the Lamb as follows:

 

i.The Meaning: The marriage supper of the Lamb is the consumption of the union between Christ (The Bridegroom) and the Church (The Bride without-spot or wrinkles) . (Eph. 5:27, Rev. 19:1-9, Matt. 22:1-14).

ii. Time of the event: The marriage will take place after the rapture of the saints but before the second phase of the second coming of the Lord with its saints. (Judges 1:14-15). i.e between the first phase and the second phase of the Lord’s second coming. (1 Thess. 4:16-17; and Judges 1: 14-15). 

iii. The personalities in the marriage: 

a. The bride and the bridegroom: The bride/wife is the Redeemed or saints of all ages who had a part in the New Jerusalem (Rev. 21:2). 

b. The husband/Bridegroom: The Lord Jesus Himself (Rev. 19:7).

iv. Venue of the marriage: It is believed that the marriage will take place in heaven i.e heavenly realms (Rev. 19:91 Thess. 4:16-17).

CLASS ACTIVITY 1: Mention five (5) people who would not partake in the marriage supper of the Lamb. 

 

LESSON OUTLINE 2: IMPORTANCE AND QUALIFICATION

The teacher should explain the significance of the marriage as follow:

i. To assemble the saints of all ages and present them to God the Father (Matt. 25:32-35).

Ii. To wipe away tears from the faces of all saints. (Rev. 7:17).

III. To remove all the saints from the earth before the advent if the great tribulation (Is. 57:1; Matt. 24:21).

IV.  To reward the faithful (Rev. 22:27).

 

B. Qualification

Teacher should explain the qualifications for the marriage supper as stated below:

i. Faithful saints of God.

Ii. Garments of righteousness and holiness.

 

CLASS ACTIVITY 2. Why should believers ensure that they do not miss the marriage?

 

SUMMARY: The marriage of the Lamb will surely come and the saints of all ages will partake in the event. To be qualified, you must be holy and faithful.

 

CONCLUSION

The biggest Holy Matrimony is the marriage of the Lamb. It is a universal and all-generations event.

Father, count me worthy to partake of the marriage of the Lamb.

 

ASSIGNMENT: Contrast between human marriage and marriage supper of the Lamb in five (5) points. (2×5= 10 Marks).
