The Disciple and The Ascension. Part Three. RCCG SOD Year 10

The Disciple and The Ascension

The greatest message of the ascension is that the Lord is coming back again. The Lord is coming back again because according to Acts 1:9-11, at the very moment that Jesus was ascending to heaven, two angels brought the message and they said,

“This same Jesus shall soon return as you have seen Him go into Heaven”.

The greatest message is that He is coming again. He is coming to do what? After he has gone into His glory, what is He coming to do in this wretched world again? He is coming back to do several things.

In Revelations 22:12, He said,

“Behold, I come quickly and my reward is with me.”

He is coming to reward us. He is coming to reward every man according to his work shall be. This is not all He is coming to do. In 1 John 3:2-3, the Bible tells us that,

“…when he appears, we shall be like Him”

In other words, He is coming to transform our bodies so that we can be like Him, subject to one condition. He said those of us who have this hope in us must purify ourselves as he is pure. In other words, when He returns, if He finds you pure, He will transform you, and then you will become like him. This is one of the reasons why He is coming.

The Bible says we are going to be like Him. We shall be as He is when we see Him. When he returns, and we see him, then the transformation would take place, provided of course we are found pure. Because according to Eph. 5:25-27, the Bible tells us that He is coming back for a bride without spot, and without wrinkle. He is coming back for His Bride. The Bride would be those of us who have decided to die with Him, rise with Him, and suffer with Him., He is coming for us. He is not going to abandon us but He is coming for those without spot and without wrinkle.

According to John 14:1-3, He is coming to take us home to His father’s house where there are those Mansions so that where He is, we will be also. But of course after He has taken us Home, There is going to br a wedding of the Lamb, and in the Mighty name of Jesus, I will be the one that He is marrying. But of course He is only going to marry those who are ready.

Hebrews 13:13-14 becomes very appropriate here. In other words, the LORD is coming to take us Home if we are spotless and if we are ready, to marry us. This should remind us that this world is not our own.  We are pilgrims Here. We are just through. Let us keep this constantly in our mind.

Remember Hebrews 11:8-10, people like our Father Abraham never lost sight of the heavenly city. He knew that there is a city whose builder and maker is God. You and I know that there are mansions waiting for us in heaven. Let us march on as pilgrims, ignoring this world because this world is not our own.

According to Hebrews 11:16, let our desire be constantly for our heavenly home. Remember , He is coming to take us to where He is, that is where he wants us to be, and that is where our home is. In any case that is where we came from and that is where we should return to. And in any case, according to Luke 21:25-28, it is not going to be long now. He told us before He left that when you begin to see all these signs, wars, rumours of wars, earthquakes, floods and all kinds of problems, He said you must know that your redemption draws near. Yes, He is behind the door, and very soon the trumpet shall sound and those who are ready shall go with Him.

As you are Year 10 disciples, I want to congratulate you at long last, you have finished this course, but one day, you will finish the final course. When his trumpet shall sound, it is my prayer that you would not be found wanting. You will be ready. You will be spotless. You will be without blemish and the Almighty God will come and find you ready to go.

It can be today. It can be tomorrow. Nobody knows the time, but it cannot be long now.

PRAYER

Father, any day or night when you return, Please I pray, do not leave me behind. Help me to be ready to go with You.

Talk to Him now.
