The Disciple as an Eagle. Part One

The Bible tells us in Isaiah 40:31 that,

“…They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run and not be weary; and they shall walk and not faint”.

This means that the disciples of Jesus Christ can mount up with wings as eagles. We can fly as eagles. There are two type of eagles, the royal eagle and the golden eagle. We will be considering the royal eagle in this part.

THE ROYAL EAGLE

As soon as you see Royal Eagle, you will know that it is the King of birds. It is powerful, It is majestic. It has dominion. It even flies with Authority and it is extremely strong.

Now the Almighty God wants every disciple to be king. He wants us to be powerful. He wants us to have dominion. He wants us to have authority. He wants us to have power. He wants us to rule by decrees. He wants us to be physically strong.

In the book of Revelations 1:4-6, the Bible tells us that not only has Jesus loved us, not only has He washed us from our sins with His own blood. He has also made us kings and priests unto God and His father.

Every true child of God who has been washed in the Blood of the lamb, has become royalty whether he or she recognises it or not. In other words, I am king and you are a king because Jesus made us kings. And so if we are kings, we are to behave like Kings, even in our prayers we must pray like a king. A king does not beg so he does not say ‘please do this , please do that’. He commands and it is done.

There is only one fellow that the King humble himself before and that is the one who made him King. So we are to be kings because God made us to be royalty. In 1 Peter 2:9, the Bible says,

“Ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, and a holy nation, a peculiar people ; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light”.

God himself decreed that we are to be royalty. A king has domain, and he is the head of his domain.

in Deut. 28:13 , the Bible says,

“And the Lord shall make thee the head and not the tail; and thou shall be above only , and thou shall not be beneath; if that thou hearken to the commandment of the Lord thy God, which I command thee this day, to observe and to do them”.

In fact God says we shall be

…above only and never be beneath…

This is the promise of the Almighty God. This is the word of God that is settled forever. It is possible to be the head anywhere you go if you are a true disciple of Jesus Christ.

The eagle did not become king because it wanted to be. It is God who made him King. The Bible says “The Lord shall make thee the head” You are not the one who will struggle for it. Those who always struggle to be number one never gets there. But those that the Lord wants to be there would get there effortlessly. So we also are made kings, not that we wanted to be kings. We were made kings by the Lord Jesus.

A KING HAS DOMINION

A king has dominion. He is always in control. There is an area where he has control. He is not controlled by anybody in his domain. In Genesis 1:27-28, the Bible says:

“So, God created man in His own image, in the image of God created He him; male and female created He them, And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful and multiply, and replenish the earth , and subdue it, and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowls of the air , and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth”.

God said we are to have dominion in the sea, in the air and everywhere. Science has shown us clearly that man can have dominion in the air, we fly in the air. Man can have dominion in the sea, men now live under the sea, and there is no animal that has not been tamed.

God expects you as a disciple not only to have dominion over living creatures, He even wants you to have dominion over demons, witches, wizards, and all circumstances of life.

A KING HAS POWER

It is not enough just to have authority, God knows that in order for your authority to be effective, there must be power behind it. In Acts 1:8 , Jesus said,

“But ye shall receive power, after the holy Ghost is come upon you; And ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem , and in all Judea , and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth”.

Every child of God , born again, washed in the blood, baptised in the Holy Spirit has power. As a matter of fact, the Bible tells us in Matt. 10:1,

When Jesus has called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out , and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of diseases.

Jesus gave his disciples power, and you are one of His disciples, so God expects you to back up the authority. He has given you by the power of the Holy Spirit.

A KING RULES BY DECREES

A king rules by decrees . He says whatever he wants to happen and it happens. God is the king of kings and the Lord of Lords. And the Bible says,

Forever O Lord thy word is settled in heaven”

So like any other king , you as a disciple are expected to rule by decrees. For example, a king will look at a soldier and say from today, you have become an officer in my army and from that day onward, he becomes an officer in the army. He could look at another man and say ‘you; you are dead’. Unless he changes his mind that man is dead. So God expects you too as a king to rule by decrees. He expects you to wake up in the morning and decree that, ‘This day will be a glorious day. This day will be a wonderful day for me.” God expects you to enter into the New Year and decree that every month of the new year will be wonderful months for you. And if you decree that way, that is the way it will be.

KING CAN BIND AND LOOSE

What does this mean? It means you do not bind some thing on earth, it will not be bound in heaven. If you do not loose anything on earth, it is not going to be loosed in heaven. So if you ask God ‘Please come down and help me bind this demon.’ He is not going to answer you, but when you say “I bind you demons” as soon as you decree that in Jesus name, it will also be bound in heaven.

The Almighty God expects you to rule by decrees. He expects you to do whatever you want done like Royalty.

Remember Jesus Christ said in John 14:14,

Whatsoever you ask in my name, I will do it.

In other words , He is there in heaven ready to back you up. He is the power behind your throne. So He is waiting for you to issue the decree and He will give the necessary backing to the decrees.

THE SECRET OF STRENGTH

Now we also notice that this royal eagle is a very strong bird. Why? It is because this bird is always happy. It has discovered the secret of strength. The Bible says in Nehemiah 8:10 that,

“The joy of the LORD is my strength”

So as a Royal Eagle, God expects you to face every situation with joy, knowing fully well that it is a settled matter that you are going to be head, you will not be tail. That there is no possibility of failure for you because you will always be above only, you will never be beneath. There is no way the enemy can overpower you.

If you will meet every situation with joy, bind what needed to be bound, loose what needed to be loosed , decree everyday , compel things to happen your way and do everything with joy, you will soon discover that you are a king indeed not because you want to be a king but because the LORD made you king.
