LESSON OUTLINES
1. ASPECTS OF THE KINGDOM OF GOD
2. SEEKING THE KINGDOM OF GOD

1. ASPECTS OF THE KINGDOM OF GOD
God’s kingdom comprising there aspects: a Universal kingdom, a Meditorial kingdom, and a Spiritual kingdom.

A. UNIVERSAL KINGDOM: This is God’s eternal sovereign rule over all that exists; the entire universe (Daniel 4:3). In this kingdom, God rules in absolute sovereignty over all His Creation (Psalm 47:2, 7-8).

B. MEDIATORAL KINGDOM: God uses divinely chosen human representatives to speak on his behalf and stand in gap of for His people.

i. The Scripture records the special encounters and insights giving to these representatives about God’s will for mankind and His provision to save sinners.

ii. The Mediatorial kingdom will end with the thousand-year (millennial) reign of Christ upon the earth (Revelation 20:4-6).

iii. This will be the concluding link between human history and the eternal kingdom (Revelation 21 & 22).

C. SPIRITUAL KINGDOM: This kingdom is an invisible kingdom that exists in the heart of believers in Christ Jesus (Luke 17:20-21). Jesus said His kingdom was not of this word (John 18:36).

i. He preached that repentance is necessary to be a part of the kingdom of God (Matthew 4:17).
ii. The kingdom of God can be equated by the sphere of salvation that must be entered into by being born again (John 3:5-7; 1Corinthians 6:9-10).

iii. It is Scriptual realm over which God reigns as king, or the fulfillment on earth of God’s will (Matthew 6:10).

CLASS ACTIVITY 1: Is there any difference between the kingdom between the kingdom of God and the kingdom of heaven? Discuss (Teacher should use Matthew 19:23-24 as a guide).

2. SEEKING THE KINGDOM OF GOD
In this Sermon on the Mount Jesus admonishes His audience to first seek the kingdom of God and it’s righteousness (Matthew 6:33).

A. To seek the kingdom of God is to, as a matter of priority:

i. Hunger and thirst for the rule and reign of God in our lives with Jesus being in charge (Matthew 5:6; 6:9-10).

ii. Be willing to submit totally and obey His will as we come under the lordship of Christ and He is in control of our lives.

B. The main benefit of the kingdom is the forgiveness of sins (Acts 3:19; 5:31). It is not rules or regulation but “righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit” (Romans 14:17).

CLASS ACTIVITY 2: What are the practical steps you want to take, to seek God more this year?

CONCLUSION: We are equally commanded to witness to others that the kingdom of God is open to all who will surrender their lives to Jesus (Matthew 3:2; Mark 16:15-16).

CLOSING PRAYER: Father, please give me the grace to abide in your kingdom forever.

ASSIGNMENT: Identify 10 scriptural references in the Book of Matthew where the kingdom of Heaven is likened to natural things (1×10=10 Marks).

It amazing I didn’t know that God kingdom exist in three phases not until now.

Relationship and Readiness. It Matters Who You Know

Key Verse: Matthew 7:22-23
Many will say to me on that day, “Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy In your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?” Then I will tell them plainly, “I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!” (NIV)

>>Focus
Sometimes it feels like if you’re going to get anywhere in life, you’ve got to know the right people-have the right connections, be an insider. Of course, as a Christian, you know that God is ultimately in control. In fact, the Bible cautions against worrying about what others think or what they can do to you. And yet, in the end, it really does come down to who you know -especially where God is concerned. Your people connections are not necessarily the issue. Your “God connection” is what really matters.

Regardless of what you do in life, great or small, it will amount to nothing if you don’t know Christ. It is not enough just to know Him, or know how to work for Him. A loving, sincere, personal relationship with Him, is the only thing that will give you access to eternity in heaven. Jesus warned that some will stand before Him and make great claims regarding their earthly and spiritual accomplishments. But many will be banished from God’s kingdom because their acts weren’t founded on a relationship with Jesus.

Examine your own life. Do you put in more effort and energy on serving Him than you do knowing Him? God wants the relationship to come first, so that everything you do flows out of love and gratitude for what Christ did for you. As you present this week’s study and proceed through this entire unit, be sure the emphasis is not simply on Jesus’ expectations, but on His invitation-to know Him.

>>The Basic Message: Explain to students…
• WHAT’S THE BIG IDEA? In the end, knowing Jesus is what really matters.
• WHY DOES IT MATTER?
Actions and appearances can be misleading; only a personal relationship with Christ will prepare you for the final judgment.
• HOW DO I LIVE IT?
Above all, make time to strengthen your relationship with Jesus and sharpen your response to God’s direction.

>>Study Overview: Explain that today’s study considers…
• How some things that influence and impress people don’t matter to God.
• How a sincere personal relationship with Jesus is what matters in the end.
• How we demonstrate our love for Jesus by strengthening our relationship with Him and by following God’s commands and directions for our lives.

>>Inform and Discuss

a). Great Acts and Grand Appearance
1. Read or ask a volunteer to read Matt 7:13-14.Does God intend it to be difficult to find eternal life? Why is it easy to miss the way to heaven?[Hint: God wants people to respond to His free offer of eternal life, but there are lots of distractions in this life. Some of these things are even more deceptive because they come from sources that appear to be righteous or reliable.]

2. Read or ask a volunteer to read Matt 7:21-23. Why would people act like they are living for God when they really aren’t? [Hint: They may be trying to impress others or get people to follow them. They may enjoy the appearances of being righteous, or even think they are fooling God.]
>>Note: As crucial as it is to guard against deception in the last days, the most important evaluation we can make is not about others’ actions, but about our own relationship with God.

3. Do you think people can sincerely believe they are pleasing God when they really aren’t? How could this happen? [Hint: Even people who start out trusting God can get careless or prideful. Some may regard apparent success in life or ministry as a sign of God’s approval.]

4. How could a person be involved in seemingly powerful spiritual things without actually knowing Christ? [Hint: One of the easiest ways for Satan to deceive people is to masquerade his work under a guise of righteousness. But there are also reasons why God sometimes allows powerful ministry to take place through unlikely – even unworthy-Individuals.]

>>Teacher Hint: Here are a few quick lessons we must learn: “don’t equate apparent success with God’s blessing or approval. | *Don’t base your faith solely on spectacular or supernatural experiences. |*Don’t try to fool others or worry what they think. | *Don’t be more attracted to object or personalities than to God. | *Always measure the soundness of teaching and experiences by what God’s Word says.

b). No Substitute for Knowing Jesus
1. Read or ask a volunteer to read Matt 7:23. How could a person be deeply involved in church and ministry and still not know Jesus?[Hint: People who are around ministry and other Christians can become complacent in their spiritual lives, fooling themselves and others. Some think that if they simply believe and do the “right” things, they will be okay spiritually.]

2. Why would Jesus call them evil doers? [Hint: People’s motive can be prideful, deceptive, and selfish. Those who pretend to serve God in this way do spiritual harm by giving people the wrong impression of godliness and leading them toward destruction.]

3. Discuss some of the ways we can truly get to know Jesus.[Guide: Remind students that while prayer and Bible study are key. God doesn’t want the relationship to become a routine chore. He wants us to enjoy it- like having time with a best friend. Ask them to list some practical, creative ways to develop and enhance their relationship with God.]
>>Note: A part of getting to know God comes through exploring and experiencing what He wants us to do with our lives every day.

c). Loving Means Living
1.Read or ask a volunteer to read John 12:42-50. According to this passage, why will some people be condemned when they stand before God?[Hint: They rejected Jesus and didn’t accept or live by His words.]

2. Read or ask volunteers to read Matt 7:21.In general, what is God’s will? What do you think He wants from us above all else? [Hint: He wants us to receive and develop a personal relationship with Him-to love Him as He loves us.]

3. Read or ask volunteers to read John 14:15, 21-24.Can a person truly love Jesus without doing what God asks? How do we truly demonstrate that we know and love Jesus? [Hint: We cannot claim to truly love Jesus if we ignore what He wants us to do. We must take time to develop our relationship with Him and live as He desires-following His teaching. Obeying His Word, and following His plans for our lives.]

>>Guide: Explain that Jesus doesn’t love us because of what we do; for we cannot earn His love through good works or fulfilling duties. However, those who truly love Jesus will desire to do good in response to His love. Jesus promised to reveal Himself to those who love and obey Him.

>>Involve Them: Play the song” I Will Follow You” by Kristine DiMarco from the album Mighty (Live). You can access it via this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=08Sx_UOZtrB. Discuss how a passion to know God includes following Jesus in obedience, no matter what happens.

>>Inspire Them: Remind students THE BASIC MESSAGE of this study(pg 52),even as you explain WHAT the Big Idea behind the study is; WHY it matters; and HOW we can live the lesson captured in this study.

>>Ministry Activity: Ask students to think for a moment about how they would answer God if He were to ask them this question: “Why should you be admitted into heaven? “After a few moments, remind them that God doesn’t make it difficult for people to receive eternal life. It’s not based on anything great or spiritual we do. We can’t know enough or be good enough. An active, sincere, personal relationship with God is the only ticket to heaven.

>>Invitation Option: Provide opportunity for students who want to receive or renew a personal relationship with God to do so. Invite them to pray with you, asking God to forgive their sins and take leadership of their lives.

Conclude the study by reminding students that Christian life isn’t about religious rules; it’s about a loving, personal relationship with Jesus.

>>Teacher Hint: Ask Yourself…
1. Do the students understand that extraordinary spiritual experiences may impress people, but they don’t necessarily mean someone has a relationship with God?

2. Do they realize that church involvement or “success” in life or ministry won’t guarantee God’s approval?

3. Do they understand that although a relationship with Christ isn’t about what we can do, love for Jesus should still inspire us to obey Him and follow His plans?

Christian Apologetics: TCCG Sunday School Teachers

OPENING PRAYER: Father, help me to promote and defend the Christian faith in Jesus’ Name.

PREVIOUS KNOWLEDGE: The teacher should allow the Assistant teacher to review the lesson for the previous week.

MEMORY VERSE: “But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:” – 1 Peter 3:15 (KJV)

BIBLE PASSAGE: Jude 3-4 (KJV)

3 Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.

4 For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.

LESSON INTRODUCTION: The English word apology comes from a Greek word that means “to give a defense.” Christian apologetics, then, is the science of giving a defense of the Christian faith. Many sceptics doubt the existence of God and/or attack belief in the God of the Bible. Some critics attack the inspiration and inerrancy of the Bible (2 Timothy 3:16) while false teachers promote false doctrines and deny the key truths of the Christian faith. The mission of Christian apologetics is to combat these movements and instead promote the Christian faith and truth.

TEACHING OBJECTIVES:

Through the lesson, students should be able to:
a. Know what apologetics means.
b. Explain with the Scripture why the Christian faith needs to be defended,
c. Understand how to go about the defence of our faith.

TEACHING PLAN: To achieve the above-stated objectives, teachers should:

a. Allow the students to read the Bible passage, recite the memory verse, participate in the class activities and do the assignment.
b. Allow the Assistant teacher to conduct the class, mark attendance and assignment, grade performance and close the class session with the closing prayer.
c. Lead the opening prayer, review previous week’s lesson, teach the lesson outlines, summarise, conclude, evaluate the lesson and give assignment to the students.

TEXT REVIEW: Jude 3-4.
In the above text, Jude exhorts his readers in very clear terms to be contenders for the faith. He wrote:
i. Beloved, when I gave all diligence ………. V3.
ii. For there are certain men crept in ………..V4.

LESSON OUTLINES:

REASON AND BIBLICAL INSTANCES
WITH GENTLENESS AND RESPECT
1. REASON AND BIBLICAL INSTANCES

A. There is no excuse for Christians to be completely unable to defend their faith (Jude 3-4).
i. Christians should know what they believe, why they believe it, how to share it with others, and how to defend it against lies and attacks (Colossians 4:6).
ii. We are all commanded to be ready and equipped to proclaim the gospel and defend our faith (Matthew 28:18-20; 1 Peter 3:15).
iii. The only way to do this effectively is to study why we believe what we believe (2 Timothy 2:15).
iv. This will prepare us to “demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ,” as Paul said we should (2 Corinthians 10:5).

B. Jesus was His own apologetic:
i. He often stated that we should believe in Him because of the evidence He provided (John 10:25; 10:38).
ii. In fact, the whole Bible is full of divine miracles that confirm what God wants us to believe (Exodus 4:1-8; 1 Kings 18:36-39; Hebrews 2:3-4; 2 Corinthians 12:12).

C. Paul practiced what he preached; in fact, defending the faith was his regular activity (Philippians 1:7).
i. He refers to apologetics as an aspect of his mission in the same passage (V.16).
ii. He also made being an apologetic a requirement for all believers (Titus 1:9).

D. Jude, an apostle of Jesus, wrote, “Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.” (Jude 3).

2. WITH GENTLENESS AND RESPECT

i. Defending the Christian faith, as apologetics, should never involve being rude, angry, or disrespectful (2 Timothy 2:24).
ii. While practicing Christian apologetics, we should strive to be strong in our defence and at the same time Christ-like in our presentation (Matthew 10:16; 1 Thessalonians 2:7).
iii. If we win a debate but turn a person even further away from Christ by our attitude, we have lost the true purpose of Christian apologetics (2 Corinthians 6:3).

CONCLUSION: We are commanded to use apologetics in as many or more places as we are told to preach the gospel.

QUESTIONS:

Give three examples of people in the Bible that defended the faith.
How should believers defend the faith?
EVALUATION: Mention at least two people who defended their faith in the scriptures.

CLOSING PRAYER: Father, create in me the zeal to wisely and persuasively defend this Christian faith.

ASSIGNMENT: Mention five things you can do to defend the faith (2×5=10 marks).

[9]And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou?

[10]And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself.

[11]And he said, Who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat?

[12]And the man said, The woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat.

[13]And the LORD God said unto the woman, What is this that thou hast done? And the woman said, The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat.

MEMORY VERSE: And the LORD God said unto the woman, What is this that thou hast done? And the woman said, The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat. Genesis 3:13.

INTRODUCTION: The blame game signifies accusations exchanged among people who refuse to accept responsibility for some undesirable events or outcomes. These people shift fault and liability to another person or thing while they paint themselves as flawless. We need to examine some negative effects of the blame game and learn to take responsibility for our actions instead of passing the buck.

TEACHER’S DIARY

LESSON AIM: To enlighten the students on the negative effect of engaging in the blame game.

TEACHING OBJECTIVES:

At the end of this lesson, students should be able to:
a. Know what the blame game means.
b. State some of the negative effects of the blame game.
c. Mention ways to take responsibility for their actions.

TEACHING PLAN: To achieve the above-stated objectives, the teacher should:
a. Allow the students to recite the memory verse, read the Bible passage, contribute to the discussion, do class activities and assignment.

b. Allow the Assistant Teacher to see to the well-being of the class, mark attendance and assignment.

c. Teach the lesson outline, summarise, conclude, evaluate the lesson, and give an assignment.

TEXT REVIEW: Genesis 3:9-13.

A. After Adam and Eve ate the forbidding fruit contrary to God’s command, the following conversation ensued between Adam and God:
i. The LORD God: called unto Adam, and said, Where art thou? V9.
ii. Adam: said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I……………………………….V10.
iii. The LORD God: said, Who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou……..?V11.

B. Then the blame game between Adam and Eve:
i. Adam: said, The woman whom thou gavest ……….V12.
ii. The LORD God: said unto the woman, What is this ……………………………. V13a.
iii. Eve said, The serpent ……………………..V13b.

OUTLINES:
1. NEGATIVE EFFECTS OF THE BLAME GAME
2. TAKING RESPONSIBILITY
1. NEGATIVE EFFECTS OF THE BLAME GAME

The following, amongst others, are some negative effects of the blame game:
i. Chasing shadows: It makes us leave the main issue and continually look for excuses. For example, a slothful person will rather transfer blame to his boss, colleagues, government, etc. instead of dealing with laziness (Proverbs 20:4).

ii. Stagnation: It keeps us in one spot for a long time. This is counter-productive to human progress. Some people fold their arms to do nothing about their predicament because they blame and believe others are responsible for their conditions (Proverbs 22:13; Ecclesiastes 11:4).

iii. ‘Never wrong’ syndrome: We get quick at clearing ourselves of any wrong while we see every other person as being at fault (1 John 1:8; Genesis 3:12).

iv. Depression: It births unhappiness and despair which can degenerate into depression, ill health, hopelessness, etc.

v. Mental blindness: Like a veil, it prevents one from seeing clearly as the supposed wrong of others are only seen (Matthew 7:3).

vi. Hatred: It produces deep-rooted hatred as the blame gamer condemns or speaks derogatorily about the person being blamed. Hatred is a terrible sin (1 John 3:15).

vii. Pride and Ignorance combined: Pride sets in when we over-rate ourselves. It combines with ignorance because we refuse to be sincere with ourselves (Philippians 2:3).

viii. Ingratitude: Blame gamers are unappreciative as they believe their benefactor can do more (1 Thessalonians 5:18).

ix. Bitterness: Blame gamers become offended and allow bitterness to take an evil root in them (Ephesians 4:31; Hebrews 12:15).

x. Destruction of relationships: It tears relationships through suspicion and a lack of trust (1 Samuel 18:8-9).

CLASS ACTIVITY 1: The class should discuss how to correct a blame gamer with love.

2. TAKING RESPONSIBILITY
1. Taking responsibility for one’s actions or inactions may not be easy but it is worth it in the long run. Hence, we must learn to sincerely acknowledge our wrongs when we are at fault (Psalm 51:4a; 1 Kings 21:29).

2. We must show a high level of personal accountability for our actions/inactions even in the face of failure (2 Samuel 12:13).

3. Let us ask God to create the right spirit in us so we are swift to acknowledge that there is a problem when a mistake is made or conflict arises (Psalm 51:10; 2 Samuel 24:17).

4. Identify your role in a blunder and plan on how to avoid a future occurrence (James 1:13-14).

CLASS ACTIVITY 2: Students should share their experiences on what happened when they sincerely own up to a fault.

CONCLUSION: Stop trading blames, take responsibility for your actions/inactions, and be accountable.

QUESTIONS
* Mention three negative effects of the blame game.
* How can believers take responsibility for their actions?

EVALUATION: Mention three negative effects of the blame game

CLOSING PRAYER: Father, I receive the grace not to walk in error in Jesus name

ASSIGNMENT: Mention five people in the Bible who traded blame and support it with scriptural reference (2×5=10 marks).

To Obey Is Better Than Sacrifice. AG Teen Sunday School Manual.

Text: 1 Sam 15:1-3, 7-9, 12, 14-15, 20-28

Key Verse: 1 Samuel 15:22

Does the Lord delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as much as in obeying the voice of the Lord? To obey is better than sacrifice, and to heed is better than the fat of rams._ (NIV)

Focus
God wants all our hearts. His expectations regarding our actions and responses toward Him could be summed up in one Word: OBEDIENCE. In fact, He values obedience more than anything we could ever give up for Him.

We demonstrate devotion to Him through trust, and trust is demonstrated by obedience. Doubtless, your ministry as a Sunday School teacher or teens’ facilitator is extremely important; but make no mistakes: God doesn’t want your sacrifices for Him to serve as a substitute for obedience. He is deeply concerned with what He’s doing in you, not just what He’s doing through you.

Take a few moments this week to examine your priorities: Are you trying to impress God, or others, by what you are doing for Him when He would prefer your willing obedience? Make out time also to pray for your students. Obedience isn’t necessarily a welcome topic among teens, but obedience to God is a necessity, whether it’s popular or not. Encourage your students to learn from Saul’s mistake.

The Basic Message:* Explain to students…

• WHAT’S THE BIG IDEA?
God values complete obedience above any sacrifice we could make for Him.
• WHY DOES IT MATTER?
Obedience has a price, but the price of disobedience is higher.
• HOW DO I LIVE IT?
Follow God’s instructions – willingly and completely.

Activity Option:
RULES ARE GOOD THING

Ask students to name sports, activities, and hobbies they are involved in that have specific rules or standards governing the play. List the activities on the board. Then ask the following questions regarding each activity:
• What are some of the primary rules of this activity?
• What would the activity be like if those standards didn’t exist a what if participants simply chose to ignore them?

Guide: Explain that God’s Word contains instructions for living. When we become selective about which parts of God’s Word we’ll abide by and ignore other parts, we can expect trouble. Partial obedience will not be acceptable to God, but total obedience will leave you with no regrets.

Study Overview: Explain that today’s study considers..

• The personal “costs” of living an obedient Christian life.
• The value of obedience compared with the value of sacrifice.
• The need to act in a godly way to avoid regrets.

inform and Discuss
a. Total Annihilation -Partial Obedience

Teacher Hint:

Read or have a volunteer read 1 Sam 15:1-3. Some may see God’s directive as cruel and harsh, but it’s important to understand the purpose behind His judgment. He knew that pagan cultures would corrupt His people and lead them away from Him; and when they weren’t doing that, they were physically attacking God’s people. As a surgeon wants to remove a cancerous tumour completely, so God wanted to completely remove sinful influence of these evil groups. But He didn’t take this action action arbitrarily or in a haste -He waited until their sin did reach its full measure (Gen 15:12-16).

1. Why do you think God communicated to King Saul in such a manner that was unmistakably clear?

Guide: Explain that God doesn’t want His people confused about His expectations for them. He gives us His Word, direct access to Him through prayer, the Holy Spirit’s guidance, and He still speaks through other people.

2. Read or have a volunteer read 1 Sam 15:7-9. Ask students to give everyday examples of partial obedience.

Hint: These include doing a portion of what was asked by a parent, teacher, or other authority figure, but disregarding the full instructions – e.g., curfew, an assignment, a- responsibility.

Guide: Point out that there’s no such thing as “partial obedience.” When a parent tells a teen a two-step command, the parent won’t be pleased unless both steps are followed.

3. Why might “partial obedience” be serious?

Guide: Explain that obeying the Lord isn’t optional. God sees our hearts and knows our motivations. Excuses won’t fool Him.

b. Direct Confrontation-Indirect Excuses
1. Read or have volunteers read 1 Sam 15:12, 14-15, 24. Why is Saul’s explanation clearly an excuse? (Guide: Explain that the idea of offering the best sheep and cattle sounds good on the surface, but it’s the direct result of disobedience.

Besides, Saul should have learned his lesson when Samuel rebuked Saul’s earlier disobedience (1 Sam 13:11-14). It is also possible Saul was interested in his honour, not God’s honour.

2. Read or have a volunteer read 1 Sam 15:20-23. Why do you think God values obedience more than sacrifice? What’s the difference between the two?

Hint: Sacrifice and obedience aren’t the same. Sacrifice may simply mean giving God what we want Him to have; obedience is giving Him what He wants. Disobedience is what made sacrifice necessary. Saul wanted something that was not rightfully his in the first place.

Note: What truly pleases God is not our sacrifice, but a heart ready to completely obey Him, no matter the cost.

3. How is disobedience a type of rebelliousness and arrogance? [Hint: When we don’t fully obey, iť’s often because we think we know better, or because we simply don’t want to do what was asked.

Disobedience is defiance of God.

Note: Obedience can be costly- it can cost you things like your friendship, popularity, or your pride. But the cost of disobedience is much higher.

c. Heartfelt Confession- Heartbreaking Consequences
1. Read or have volunteer read 1 Sam 15:24-28. Does asking God for forgiveness eliminate the consequences of disobedience?

Guide: Explain that God forgives us when we genuinely repent of our disobedience, but that doesn’t mean we’ll escape the consequences that lead to regret. The only way to live a life free from regret is to choose the path of obedience.

Note: Although Saul clung to power until his death, David was anointed king while Saul still lived.

Involve Them: WORTH THE RISK

Divide students into small groups. Give each group a piece of paper and a pen or pencil. Challenge each group to come up with three risks that God might ask young believers in their generation to take in the next three years for the benefit of His kingdom (e.g., write a paper with a Christian theme as a school assignment, start a prayer or Bible club at school, tell an unbelieving friend about Jesus). Remind them that obedience to God often seems like.

risk behaviour, but whatever the cost, obedience to God is worth it.

Inspire Them: Remind students “The Basic Message” of this study (pg 119), explain WHAT the Big ldea behind the study is; WHY it matters; and

HOW we can live the lesson captured in the study.

Ministry Activity: ACT ON IT

Give students few minutes to spend in quiet reflection about how they intend to live this week in the light of all you discussed in class. (You may want to quietly display worship music, even as they reflect.).

Perhaps some know what God has been telling them, but they haven’t yet acted on it. Or perhaps others need to repent for choosing to do their own thing in a particular aspect of their lives. Pray with students and give them time to make these commitments.

Teacher Hint: Ask Yourself…

1. Do students understand that disobedience to God can lead to serious issues?

2. Can they explain the difference between obeying God and sacrificing for Him?

3. Do students realize that asking forgiveness doesn’t erase the consequences of their actions?

RCCG SOD Year Five: The Disciple As A Creator. Part Five

THE DISCIPLE AS A CREATOR

The supernatural Being

In lesson SA3, we were talking about supernatural beings and we were comparing Elijah and Elisha. In lesson SA4, we want to continue with the supernatural beings. Jesus Christ is our own Elijah and we are His Elishas. We said that our captain, that is Jesus Christ, defeated the devil in the wilderness and brought in Joy, relief and abundance to people; changing water to wine, emptiness to fulfilment, shame to glory and defeat to victory; just as Elijah defeated the devil on Mount Carmel and he brought in showers of blessings.

II kings 2: 19-25, “And the men of the city said unto Elisha, Behold, I pray thee, the situation of this city is pleasant, and as my Lord seeth: but the water is naught, and the ground barren. And he said, bring me a new cruse, and put salt therein, and they brought it to him. And he went forth unto the spring of waters, and cast the salt in there, and said thus saith the Lord. I have healed these waters: there shall not be from thence any more death or barren land. So the waters were healed unto this day, according to the saying of Elisha which he spake. And he went up from thence unto Bethel: and as he was going up by the way, there came forth little children out of the city, and mocked him, and said unto him, Go up, thou bald head: go up, thou bald head. And he turned back, and looked on them, and cursed them in the name of the LORD. And there came forth two she bears out of the wood, and tore forty and two children of them. And he went from thence to mount carmel, and from thence he returned to Samaria.

When Elisha took over from Elijah in II kings 2: 19-25, Elisha also began to do greater works than Elijah. For example, he changed curses to blessings; he wiped out demon infected creatures. He rescued a woman who was a debtor and destitute. He change the curse on Jericho to blessings; her poverty to abundance. We as the Elishas of Jesus Christ, the Lord told us in John 14:12: he said when you take over from me, after I have gone to my Father, the works that I did you will do. Even as Elisha excelled Elijah, you my disciples will excel me.

In 1kings 17;17 – 24, Elijah defeated death once; he told death, release this boy and death had to obey.

II Kings 4:32-37, “And when Elisha was come into the house, behold, the child was dead, and laid upon his bed. He went in therefore, and shut the door upon them twain, and prayed unto the Lord. And he went up, and lay upon the Child, and put his mouth upon his mouth, and his eyes upon his eyes, and his hand upon his hands; and he stretched himself upon the child; and the flesh of the child waxed warm. Then he returned and walked in the house to and fro; and went up and stretched himself upon him: and the child sneezed seven times, and the child opened his eyes. And he called Gehazi, and said, call this Shunamite woman. So he called her. And when she was come in unto him, he said take up thy son. Then she went in, and fell at his feet, and bowed herself to the ground, and took up her son, and went out”

II Kings 11:20-21, “And Elisha died, and they buried him. And the bands of the Moabites invaded the land at the coming in of the year. And it came to pass, as they were burying a man, that behold, the spied a band of men; and they cast the man into the sepulcher of Elisha and when the man was let down, and touched the bones of Elisha, he revived and stood up on his feet”.

From the above scriptures, Elisha who took over from Elijah defeated death twice.

  1. When he was alive, he raised the son of the Shunamite woman.
  2. When he was dead, his bones raised the dead.

Thus Elisha did double of what Elijah did. And as far as our own Elijah is concerned, he didn’t defeat death just once, he defeated death permanently. Revelation 1:18 says, Jesus conquered death. Not only that, he took the keys of death. He said “I am alive for evermore, never to die again”. As a result of that, we His disciples can say, according to Ephesians 2: 4-7 and I Corinthians 15: 51-55 which says:

“But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) and hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus”.

“Behold, I shew you a mystery; we shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed. In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump,: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.

So when this corruptible shall have put on immorality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is writ-ten, Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?

We also have won the battle over death permanently. We have defeated death permanently. We can say “death, where is your sting?” As disciples of Jesus Christ we have nothing to worry about. In fact, disciples don’t die; they only sleep.

According to Matthew 11:11, the Lord said. “Verily I say unto you, Among them that are born of women there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist: not-withstanding, he that is least in the Kingdom of heaven is greater than he.”

Our own mantle, which is the Holy Spirit, is far superior to that of Elijah. Of all the Old Testament prophets the greatest is John the Baptist, that is, he was greater than Elijah, Elisha and all the prophets of the Old Testament.

The Lord went further to say that the smallest of the saints in the Kingdom of God is greater than John the Baptist i.e. even as you are looking at me you are looking at somebody far superior to John the Baptist. In Matthew 11:25, the Bible says:

“At the time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes”.

Many people may not know that we disciples of Jesus Christ are greater than all the Old Testament prophets. Maybe you yourself did not even know it until now? But now you know it. However, there is a difference between knowing and believing. It is one thing to know Jesus Christ. The Muslims know Him. The Hindus know Him. At least if you have heard of Him, you have known Him. But few believe in Him. As year five disciples, you are great. Whenever you see a disciple who is in year five or above, you better treat him with respect. You may not believe that you are a supernatural being, but that is what you are. In John 14:6, the Bible says,

“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”

The Lord Jesus talks about you that you are a super human being. He said, I am the way the truth and the life, and the truth can never lie. The truth says concerning you, Sirs and Ma, you disciples in year five, Jesus the truth said in Mark 9:23, that all things are possible to you. How many things are possible to you? All things; provided you believe. If you don’t believe, its up to you. All things are possible for you.

Noted In Hell. RCCG SOD Year Three

As soon as a disciple is clearly branded for Christ, he will immediately be clearly noted in hell, and almost immediately, enemy action will begin.

The devil will say, “this is an enemy, let us go and get him”. For example, Saul of Tarsus got born again on his way to Damascus. Three days later, he got baptised in the Holy Spirit and began to preach. Immediately he got converted , he made it known to everybody that he was for Christ. The devil knew, this person who used to be a disciple for the devil is now a disciple of Jesus. He moved to kill him.

And straightway, he preached Christ in the synagogues, that he is the son of God. But all thaty heard him were amazed, and said; Is not this he that destroyed them which called on this name in Jerusalem, and come hither for that intent , that he might bring them bound unto the Cheif Priests ? But Saul increased the more in Strength , and confounded the Jews which dwelt at Damascus , proving that this is very Christ. After that many days were fulfilled , the Jews took counsel to kill him . But their laying await was known of Saul. And they watched the gates day and night to kill him. Then the disciples took him by night , and let him down by the wall in a basket”.

I mean this fellow has already changed sides. There are many of us disciples, who have been born again now for many years, and the devil has not made a single attack on us. There must be something wrong somewhere. Because the moment you become completely identified with Christ, the devil must try.

But what if you say you are for Christ, and the devil cannot say ” that’s true” , rather He says, “he is for Christ and he is committing sins? Look at the way he dresses. Look at what he is eating, what he is drinking, listen to his language, don’t mind him”. He will say don’t worry about this one, he is still one if us”. But when you say you belong to Christ, everything changes. The Bible says in 2/Corin 5:17,

” Therefore, if any man is in Christ, he is a new creature, old things passed away ; behold all things become new”.

As soon as everything becomes new, the enemy will move. You will remember the story of Daniel, Shedrack, Meshach and Abrdnego in Daniel 1: 8-16, Why is it about people that got into trouble? Very simple. As soon as they got to Babylon, the King said ” these young men were looking handsome. Let us begin to feed them. Let us train them specially. Let us begin to feed them with our own kind of food”. – Delicious meal from the king’s table, meat that the king are, the wine that the king drinks. There are some news that were included in the group.

Daniel, Shedrack, Meshach, and Abednego said, no way. We will not ear king’s meat, we will not drink the wine. Other said, we are in a strange land, when in Rome, we must do like Romans ; Daniel said no way. Shedrach said no way, Meshach said no way and Abrdnego said no way. So, they sent to the head usher, please give us beans and water.

Those who want to eat the animal that has been slaughtered to idols can eat them. Those who want to drink the one that has been poured in liberation to idol can drink it..

After 10days he came back and looked at the three. They were looking more robust than all the others. Which is another way of saying beans and water must be very good food. I think every disciple must be eating plenty of beans and plenty of water. Now seriously speaking, as soon as the devil was these four boys, he said, it means you are ready to be branded for Jehovah. I will deal without. I will finish the three if you quickly. It was the devil who brought the dream to the king.

In Daniel 2, verses 1-49, the king had a dream and forgot it. And said he would kill all the wise men unless they could remember the dream and give him it’s interpretations. The devil was only after the four people – Daniel, Shedrach, Meshach, Shedrach, and Abednego. And he was willing to kill as many other people so that these four would die. But glory be to God, He rescued these four and they got promoted.

Then the devil said, alright, I failed that test number one, I will try to attempt number two! Do he spoke to the king, and said a king like Nebuchadnezzar should be a god, and everybody mist now down to that idol. He knew that these four people who had been branded for Christ would not bow (Daniel 3).

I don’t know where Daniel was when they arrested Shedrach, Meshach and Abednego who were not vowing to the udol. But you know the rest of the story. ;the three boys said ” We will not bow. We are for Jehovah, not for any other ifol”. They were thrown into fire but they came out alive and they git promoted.

In the mean time, the devil said, What about Daniel? Where was he when these three boys were thrown into fire? Let us give him his own attack. That is what landed him in the lion’s den in Daniel 6. But glory be to God again. Daniel came out alive and he got printed, and his enemies were silenced.

When you are branded for Christ, you will be noted in hell, hell will be angry, they will attack you, but will not win, you will be more than victorious.

Being Born Again. Part 2. RCCG Sunday School Manual.

OPENING PRAYER: Father, help me to fully operate in the dominion You gave to man.

PREVIOUS KNOWLEDGE: The teacher should allow the Assistant teacher to review the lesson for the previous week.

MEMORY VERSE: “Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.” – Romans 8:30 (KJV)

BIBLE PASSAGE: Romans 5:1-5 (KJV)

1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:

2 By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

3 And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;

4 And patience, experience; and experience, hope:

5 And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.

LESSON INTRODUCTION

Being born again is not a title or an entitlement. Rather, the evidence must be in living a sanctified life and allowing the Holy Spirit to lead/control one’s life. Furthermore, an understanding of the concepts of justification and assurance of salvation is very essential to the establishment of a new convert in Christ. This study attempts to shed some light on these basic concepts of the Christian faith.

LESSON AIM: To guide the students who are born again on the concept of justification and assurance of salvation.

TEACHING OBJECTIVES:

At the end of this lesson, students should be able to:
a. Understand justification and what is involved.
b. Know how justification can be attained.
c. Identify ways they can be assured of their salvation.

TEACHING PLAN: To achieve the above-stated objectives, the teacher should:

a. Allow the students to recite the memory verse, read the Bible passage, contribute to the discussion, do class activities and assignment.
b. Allow the Assistant Teacher to see to the well-being of the class, mark attendance and assignment.
c. Teach the lesson outline, summarise, conclude, evaluate the lesson and give an assignment.

TEXT REVIEW: Romans 5:1-5.

Apostle Paul while addressing the Romans on the subject of Justification, highlights other grace we enjoy through Jesus Christ our Lord. He, therefore declared saying:

i. Being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: V1.
ii. By whom …………………………………V2.
iii. And not ……………………………….V3.
iv. And Patience ……………………….V4.
v. And hope …………………………….….V5.

LESSON OUTLINES 1: A JUSTIFIED LIFE

A. To justify simply means to declare someone righteous.
i. Meaning, God begins to see you as you have never sinned (Romans 3:21-25; 5:1).
ii. The law and the justice of God demand death as the penalty for sin (Ezekiel 18:4) and punishment for the wicked (Isaiah 57:20-21).

B. Two major events are obvious with justification:
i. One is that the sin is forgiven, and the punishment of that sin is removed from the sinner (Isaiah 43:25).
ii. The second is that the righteousness of Jesus Christ is credited to the sinner’s account (Romans 5:18).

C. The justified life is obtained.
i. Simply by grace (Romans 3:24).
ii. By the blood of Jesus Christ (Romans 5:9).
iii. By His resurrection (Romans 4:25).

D. Now that we are born again,
i. We ‘wear’ a justified life identified by peace with God
ii. We also have a vibrant, enjoyable prayer life (Romans 5:1-2).

E. However, we must continue to work out our salvation with fear and trembling by avoiding sin (Philippians 2:12; 1 John 3:9).

CLASS ACTIVITY 1: The class should share how they knew they have been justified.

LESSON OUTLINE 2: ASSURANCE OF SALVATION

A. As a new creature in Christ, it is important to have the assurance of salvation. This assurance can be found:

i. In the word of God (Romans 10:9-11),
ii. Through the witness of the Holy Spirit (Romans 8:16)
iii. Through the evidence of a changed life (2 Corinthians 5:17).

B. Feelings or comments of people are unreliable for your assurance; therefore, do not lean on them.
i. Be warned of doubts that may arise about your salvation.
ii. Do not open the door to sin, worldliness (1 John 2:15-16), laziness in praying and constant study of the word of God (2 Timothy 2:15).

C. Be filled with the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 5:18; Jude 20).

CLASS ACTIVITY 2: Students should share other ways they are assured of their salvation.

CONCLUSION: Once you are born again, you receive the righteousness of Christ and the Holy Spirit impresses on your heart that you have become a child of God.

QUESTIONS:

  1. Mention the two major events at justification.
  2. How can believers get assurance of salvation?

EVALUATION: Teachers should ask the student to discuss their understanding of Justification.

CLOSING PRAYER: Father, I believe I am Yours and I thank You for this great privilege.

ASSIGNMENT: Reflect and act on the lesson of today for assurance of your salvation if you are still in doubt (No mark).

Will thou pass over me today?
    Without my being blest?

Being Born Again. Part One. RCCG Sunday School Manual.

TOPIC: Being Born Again (Part 1)

MEMORY VERSE: “Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.” – 1 Peter 1:23 (KJV)

BIBLE PASSAGE: 1 Thessalonians 4:1-7

1 Furthermore then we beseech you, brethren, and exhort you by the Lord Jesus, that as ye have received of us how ye ought to walk and to please God, so ye would abound more and more.

2 For ye know what commandments we gave you by the Lord Jesus.

3 For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication:

4 That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour;

5 Not in the lust of concupiscence, even as the Gentiles which know not God:

6 That no man go beyond and defraud his brother in any matter: because that the Lord is the avenger of all such, as we also have forewarned you and testified.

7 For God hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness.

LESSON INTRODUCTION: Being born again is a state of conversion from being a sinner to becoming a saint. It is a spiritual transformation that leads to a change of heart and life (John 3:3-7). Being born again is an act of God whereby eternal life is imparted to the person who believes, confesses his/her sin, and accepts Jesus Christ as his/her personal Saviour and Lord. If we claim to be born again, there must be notable pieces of evidence to prove that we are children of God (Romans 8:14).

LESSON OUTLINES:

  1. A SANCTIFIED LIFE
  2. A SPIRIT-CONTROLLED LIFE

1. A SANCTIFIED LIFE

If we are born again, it is expected that we live a sanctified life: a life devoid of sin, separated unto God and Christ-like (Romans 12:2; Ephesians 4:13). This is what it means to be a Christian or a Child of God.

It is the will of God that His children are sanctified (1 Thessalonians 4.3). Jesus’ followers are expected to be sanctified (1 Thessalonians 5:23-24; 1 Peter 1:15-16). This great privilege and experience (sanctification) are obtainable by the word of God (John 17:17), the blood of Jesus (Hebrews 13:12), and by heart surgery as the individual daily surrenders unto God (Ezekiel 36:25-27; Romans 6:13). As children of God, we are empowered to live holy, bear the fruit of the Spirit, and have a guaranteed eternity in the Lord (Romans 6:22; Galatians 5:22-23).

CLASS ACTIVITY 1: Students should share the privileges they have enjoyed as sons of God.

2. A SPIRIT-CONTROLLED LIFE

Anyone that is born again should be controlled by the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit gives us power over sin (Galatians 5:16); power to serve God (Acts. 1:8); power to witness to our spiritual adoption (Galatians 4:6, 1 Jn. 3:24).

Also, the Holy Spirit helps us to bear fruits unto repentance (Matthew 3:8); guides us into all truth (John 16:13), controls believers’ temperament (Romans 8:4-5; Galatians 5:25), He gives life to our mortal bodies (Romans 8:11); power to rebuke and cast out demons (Acts 13:8-11); influences our choices (Acts 13:2). The Holy Spirit sends help and comforts Christians in times of pains, disappointment, loss, trials, etc. (2 Corinthians 1:3-4).

CLASS ACTIVITY 2: The teacher should ask the students to mention what has changed about them since they accepted Christ as their Lord and Saviour.

CONCLUSION: Anyone who is born again must be sanctified and controlled by the Holy Spirit.

QUESTIONS:

  1. Mention three things believers can do to be sanctified.
  2. What are the benefits of a spirit-controlled life?

ASSIGNMENT: Write out five specific instructions the Holy Spirit has given you which was different from what you had in mind. (2×5=10 marks).

OPENING PRAYER: Dear God, teach me how to worship You acceptably.

BIBLE PASSAGE: John 4:19-24

[19]The woman saith unto him, Sir, I perceive that thou art a prophet.

[20]Our fathers worshipped in this mountain; and ye say, that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship.

[21]Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father.

[22]Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews..

[23]But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.

[24]God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

MEMORY VERSE: O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the LORD our maker. Psalms 95:6.

INTRODUCTION: Worship is an act of paying homage that involves deep respect, reverence, adoration, and showing sincere love to a supreme being. The Almighty God who created us must be worshipped for who He is and not because He needs anything from us (1Peter 2:9). We are created to show the splendour of God by glorifying Him (Psalms 29:2). Since we are created for worship, it is important we find out the ways to do it to be acceptable by God who commands it.

LESSON AIM: To teach the church, how to worship the Lord acceptably.

TEACHING OBJECTIVES:

Through this lesson, students should be able to:

a. Understand what Christian worship is.

b. Know what to put in place to worship acceptably

c. Distinguish between acceptable and unacceptable forms of worship

TEACHING PLAN:

To achieve the above-stated objectives, the teacher should:

a. Allow the students to recite the memory verse, read the Bible passage, contribute to the discussion, do class activities and assignment.

b. Allow the Assistant Teacher to see to the well-being of the class, mark attendance and assignment.

c. Teach the lesson outlines, summarise, conclude, evaluate the lesson and give an assignment.

TEXT REVIEW: John 4:19-24.

A. The dialogue between our Lord Jesus Christ and the Samaritan woman is quite enlightening. Her curiosity for truth is something every believer should possess. It records that:

i. The woman saith unto him, Sir, I perceive that thou art a prophet. V19.

ii. Our fathers worshipped in this mountain; and ………………………………..V20.

B. Jesus’ response to her is an insight into what true Christian worship entails.

i. Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe …..V21.

ii. Ye worship ye know not what: we ……..…V22.

iii. But the hour cometh, and .………..V23.

iv. God is a Spirit, and they …………..V24.

Teachers should fill in the gaps from the passage during the preview exercise.

OUTLINES:

1. Preparing For Worship

2. Acceptable Worship

LESSON OUTLINE 1: PREPARING FOR WORSHIP

Teachers should highlight the necessary things to put in place while preparing for worship as follows:

A. Our heart

i. Before moving into the external act of worship, there is the need for us to put our hearts in order (Psalm 51:10).

ii. This is to ensure that hindrances to our worship are off-loaded from our hearts (Romans 12:1-2).

iii. We must get rid of the “old man” with his deeds – anger, hatred, bitterness and other vices (Colossians 3:8-9).

B. Reconciliation

i. There is the need for us to also reconcile with God and man in any area of offence (Matthew 5:23-24; Acts 24:16).

ii. We need to make restitutions where necessary (Luke 19:8).

CLASS ACTIVITY 1: Students should mention other things Christians need to put in place in preparing for worship.

LESSON OUTLINE 2: ACCEPTABLE WORSHIP

A. Not all worship is acceptable to God (Psalm 15:1-5). There are various forms of unacceptable worship. These include:

1. Vain worship: this is based on lip service and not from the heart (Mark 7:6).

2. Ignorant worship: it refers to worship without the knowledge of who God really is and how He should be worshipped (John 4:22; Acts 17:22-23).

3. Will or self-imposed worship: it refers to satisfying personal will and desire instead of carrying out God’s instruction (Colossians 2:20-23; Leviticus 10:1-2).

B. Therefore, acceptable worship must be rendered to God:

i. In spirit and in truth (John 4:20-24).

ii. In holiness (Psalm 96:9).

iii. From a heart “void of offence toward God, and toward men” (Acts 24:16).

iv. By faith, like the sacrifice of Abel (Hebrews 11:4).

CLASS ACTIVITY 2: Students should mention other forms of unacceptable worship one can engage in.

CONCLUSION: The scripture teaches that only God should be worshipped (Exodus 20:1-5) and this should be done in spirit and truth.

QUESTIONS

* In what ways should believers prepare for worship?

* Mention four things that make the act of worship acceptable to God.

EVALUATION: Students should mention three ways to worship God acceptably.

CLOSING PRAYER: Father, I receive the grace to worship You acceptably.

ASSIGNMENT: Write five differences between Christian worship and idol worship. (2×5=10 marks).

Theophany. RCCG Sunday School Teacher Manual

OPENING PRAYER: Father, help me to understand Your manifold presence.

MEMORY VERSE: “And the Lord descended in the cloud, and stood with him there, and proclaimed the name of the Lord.” – Exodus 34:5 (KJV)

BIBLE PASSAGE: Genesis 18:1-3,16-22 (KJV)

Genesis 18:1-3
18 And the Lord appeared unto him in the plains of Mamre: and he sat in the tent door in the heat of the day;

2 And he lift up his eyes and looked, and, lo, three men stood by him: and when he saw them, he ran to meet them from the tent door, and bowed himself toward the ground,

3 And said, My Lord, if now I have found favour in thy sight, pass not away, I pray thee, from thy servant:

Genesis 18:16-22
16 And the men rose up from thence, and looked toward Sodom: and Abraham went with them to bring them on the way.

17 And the Lord said, Shall I hide from Abraham that thing which I do;

18 Seeing that Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him?

19 For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the Lord, to do justice and judgment; that the Lord may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him.

20 And the Lord said, Because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great and because their sin is very grievous;

21 I will go down now, and see whether they have done altogether according to the cry of it, which is come unto me; and if not, I will know.

22 And the men turned their faces from thence, and went toward Sodom: but Abraham stood yet before the Lord.

LESSON INTRODUCTION: The term “Theophany” comes from the Ancient Greek theophaneia, meaning “appearance of a deity.” Specifically, a “theophany” is a visible or tangible manifestation of God. In its most restrictive sense, it is a visible appearance of God in the Old Testament period, often, but not always, in human form. The use of the term “theophany” is restricted here to manifestations of God in temporary forms visible to the eyes (not in dreams). A frequent introduction for theophanies may be seen in the phrase “the Lord came down” (Genesis 11:5;Exodus 34:5).

LESSON AIM: To teach the church some temporary forms God takes to appear to His people.

TEACHING OBJECTIVES:

Through this study, students are expected to:
a. Know what theophany means in clear terms
b. Understand the difference between theophany and other divine manifestations of God.
c. Discover people who experienced theophany in the Bible.
d. Distinguish between theophany and Christ’s incarnation.
e. Understand the significance of theophany.

TEACHING PLAN:

To achieve the above-stated objectives, the teacher should:
a. Allow the students to recite the memory verse, read the Bible passage, contribute to the discussion; do class activities and the assignment.
b. Allow the Assistant Teacher to see to the well-being of the class, mark attendance and assignment.
c. Teach the lesson outlines, summarise, conclude, evaluate the lesson and give an assignment.

TEXT REVIEW: Genesis 18:1-3, 16-22.

A. In the above texts, the writer gives an account of the Lord’s appearance unto Abraham, saying:
i. And the LORD appeared unto him in the plains of Mamre: and he sat in the tent door in the heat of the day; V1.
ii. And he lifted up his eyes and looked, and, lo, ………………………………………… V2.
iii. And said, My Lord, ………………………………………V3.

B. The writer further gives a narration of how God revealed His plan for Sodom to Abraham, that:
iv. The men rose up from thence, ………………………………………….V16.
v. And the LORD said, shall
vi. Seeing that Abraham shall surely ……………………………………………V18.
vii. For I know him, that ……………………V19.
viii. And the LORD said, ……………………V20.
ix. I will go down now, and ………………V21.
x. And the men turned their faces from thence, and ……………….V22.

LESSON OUTLINE

LESSON OUTLINE 1: CATEGORIES AND CATEGORIES AND BIBLICAL INSTANCES
LESSON OUTLINE 2: THE INCARNATION OF CHRIST

1. CATEGORIES AND BIBLICAL INSTANCES

A. Some of the tangible or visible manifestations of God are found in three categories: appearance as a man, non-human form, and appearance as ‘The angel of the LORD’.

B. Biblical instances of God’s appearance:

  1. As a Man:
    i. Genesis 18:1-3, 13, 17 – Abraham had some visitors: two angels and God Himself. He invited them to come to his home, and he and Sarah entertained them.
ii. Genesis 32:22-30 – Jacob wrestled with what appeared to be a man, but was God (vs.28-30).
iii. Daniel 3:23-25 – The fourth man in the fire is none other than God
  2. In Non-Human Form: i. Exodus 24:16-18 -Frequently, the term “glory of the Lord” reflects a theophany.
ii. Deuteronomy 31:14-15 – God appeared to Moses and Joshua in the transfer of leadership to Joshua “…in a pillar of cloud….”
  3. As “The Angel of the LORD”: This is also called “Angelophany.” There is a difference between “an angel” and “the Angel of the LORD.” The Angel of the LORD usually refers to himself as the LORD or God in the Old Testament. It is not every appearance of angels that is a theophany.
    i. Genesis 16:7-14-The angel of the LORD appears to Hagar. The angel speaks as God Himself in the first person, and in verse 13 Hagar identifies “the LORD that spoke to her” as “The God” Who sees.”
ii. Genesis 22:11-12-The angel of the LORD appears to Abraham and refers to Himself as God in the first person.
iii. Genesis 31:11-13-“The angel of God” says, “…I am the God of Beth-el”.

CLASS ACTIVITY 1: Students should share with the class any of the above categories of theophany, they have encountered God.

LESSON OUTLINE 2. THE INCARNATION OF CHRIST

A. The pre-incarnate appearance of Christ (in the Old Testament) is called “Christophany.”
i. Jesus is the fulfillment of God’s presence.
ii. He is the one to which every theophany- in the Old Testament – was pointing (Hebrews 1:1-3; John 1:1, 14).

B. However, the incarnation of Christ is different from the Old Testament instances of theophany:
i. The Old Testament theophanies are preliminary – they foreshadow and prefigure the coming of Christ in the flesh.
ii. The coming of Christ is their fulfillment – their climax (Matthew 5:17).
iii. In addition, Christ’s incarnation is permanent
iv. The theophanies in the Old Testament were temporary.

C. It is through Jesus that we will finally and fully experience the presence of God with us (Revelation 21:1-4).

CLASS ACTIVITY 2: The class should discuss why they believe Christ is the fullness of God’s presence any man could wish for.

CONCLUSION: The main point of a theophany is to know that God is present with humanity. That is ultimately expressed through Christ.

QUESTIONS:

  1. Mention the three categories of the visible manifestations of God.
  2. Explain the incarnation of Christ.

EVALUATION: Teachers should ask the students to distinguish between Old Testament theophany and the re-incarnation of Christ in at least three (3) ways.

CLOSING PRAYER: Father, saturate my life with your manifold presence.

ASSIGNMENT: Write five reasons people still doubt God’s existence despite the pieces of evidence in the Scriptures and around us. (2×5=10 marks).

System Security Operations: Highlighting The Major Threats To Security Operations

In my previous article, I have talked about some of the facts that you need to know about computer security awareness. In this article, I want to look at seven major threats to system security. Follow me as we are going to look at that together in this article.

Facts about System security…

There are some facts that you need to know about system security before I even start talking about some of these threats…

First and foremost, you need to understand that every system and operating systems are subject to security flaws. There will always be a loophole that hackers can capitalise on in order to attack systems and devices.

At times, software developers do not complete their work before they rush to market and this is what create lapses in their systems. That is why they always release patches in order to cover loopholes in their systems.

If you want to stay secure, there is a need for you to install the patches and stay secured. Although in my own part of the world, we are always conscious of data and bandwidth bit, all the same, patches need to be updated in order to stay secure.

You also need to make sure that security patches are applied in a timely manner. It takes just a second for hackers to wreak havoc and destroy sensitive data that you have stored on your devices.

The threats…

#1 Virus

This is a form of program that replicates itself by copying itself to other programs, system boot sectors or documents and alters or damages the computer files and applications.

#2 Worm

A worm is a self-replicating program that does not alter files but resides in the computer memory and replicate itself. This makes the disk to be filled more than the files and folders that are available on that memory.

#3 Backdoor

This is an unauthorized access point that is being created to access system files that are not known to other system users. One of the means of creating this unauthorised access is through a Guest account and other access that does not require passwords.

#4 Rootkit

A rootkit is a kind of program that gives toot level access to unauthorized users. When a system is attacked with a rootkit, an ordinary user will have administrative access and he will be able to do what an admin will be able to do.

#5 Trojan

A Trojan is a malicious program that looks legitimate but has bad intentions. Take for example you download free antivirus online but at the end of the data the anti-virus ended up stealing sensitive information from your device.

#6 Logic bomb

This is a program that is meant to launch a particular program that is meant to launch an attack at a particular time. For example, a program might be launched to release programs to steal 1BTC on Christmas day.

#7 Spyware

Spyware includes Trojans and other malicious software that steal personal information from the system without the user’s knowledge. A good example is Keylogger that can record keystrokes on users keyboard.

#8 Keylogger

A Keylogger is a hardware device or small software device that can record all keystrokes that are pressed on user’s keyboard.

#9 Password cracking

Password cracking is the process of identifying or recovering forgotten or unknown passwords. I will talk more about password recovery in my subsequent articles.

The Conversion Of Saul (Paul). AG Sunday School Teachers

Memory Verse: 1 Timothy 1:15 – This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief (KJV).

Central Truth:
Anyone who repents and believes in Christ will be saved.

INTRODUCING THE LESSON

Saul’s journey begins with strict adherence to the Jewish law. As he continued, he heard about Jesus, considered Him a threat to the proper exercise of Jewish religion; he committed himself to stamping out the mention of Jesus’ name. Saul’s journey came to a stop as he travelled to Damascus to persecute believers. Suddenly, from heaven, the direction of his life’s journey would be forever changed.

LESSON OUTLINE
1. PERSECUTOR OF CHRISTIANS

A. Searching, Arresting, Imprisoning –
Acts 7:58; 8:3; 9:1-2; 22:4, 19-20
B. Opposing The Name Of Jesus –
Acts 26:9-11.

2. APPREHENDED BY CHRIST
A. A Persecutor Made Helpless – Acts 9:3-9
B. Helped By Ananias – Acts 9:10-18.

3. TRANSFORMED BY JESUS
A. Before And After – Acts 9:19-25
B. Meeting The Church At Jerusalem – Acts 9:26-31.

Learning Objectives

At the end of this lesson, students will be able to:
1. Explain the story of Saul’s conversion from enemy to apostle of Jesus Christ.

2. Rejoice in the power of God to save even the hardest of sinners.

3. Trust God to work through them to reach many for Christ.

The Holy Scriptures
Acts 9:1-2
[1]And Saul, yet breathing out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went unto the high priest,
[2]And desired of him letters to Damascus to the synagogues, that if he found any of this way, whether they were men or women, he might bring them bound unto Jerusalem.

Acts 22:4
[4]And I persecuted this way unto the death, binding and delivering into prisons both men and women.

Acts 26:11
[11]And I punished them oft in every synagogue, and compelled them to blaspheme; and being exceedingly mad against them, I persecuted them even unto strange cities.

Acts 9:3-6,17-18,20,26
[3]And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven:
[4]And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?
[5]And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.
[6]And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do.
[17]And Ananias went his way, and entered into the house; and putting his hands on him said, Brother Saul, the Lord, even Jesus, that appeared unto thee in the way as thou camest, hath sent me, that thou mightest receive thy sight, and be filled with the Holy Ghost.
[18]And immediately there fell from his eyes as it had been scales: and he received sight forthwith, and arose, and was baptized.
[20]And straightway he preached Christ in the synagogues, that he is the Son of God.
[26]And when Saul was come to Jerusalem, he assayed to join himself to the disciples: but they were all afraid of him, and believed not that he was a disciple.

Commentary and Application

1. PERSECUTOR OF CHRISTIANS

A. Searching, Arresting, Imprisoning– Acts 7:58; 8:3; 9:1-2; 22:4,19-20
Many readers have divided the Book of Acts into the story of two main characters. The apostle Peter and his ministry dominate chapters 1 through 12; the apostle Paul, chapters 13 through 28. However, the first mention of Paul, here called Saul, occurs before he became a Christian. In Acts 7:58, Saul was a young man guarding the clothes of those who stoned Stephen-outer garments they had taken off for freedom of movement as they performed this wicked act (see Acts 22:20).

Saul immediately became the central figure in the persecution of the Church, systematically seeking out believers in each house and synagogue (Acts 8:3; 22:19). While taking a more active role in the Church than they had in Judaism, believing women also became targets for bitter persecution (Acts 9:2: 22:4). Luke wrote “men and women” repeatedly, highlighting Saul’s cruelty regardless of gender.

Acts 9:1 further describes Saul’s cruelty, as he was “breathing out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord” (KJV). His cruelty did not end with seeking out, arresting, and imprisoning believers. He also beat them, and sought to bring them back to Jerusalem, where they could be tried by the Sanhedrin and sentenced to death (verse 2; 26:10).

For the first time, in Acts 9:2, the experience of knowing and following Christ is referred to as “the Way” (NLT). Jesus referred to himself in John 14:6 as “the way, the truth, and the life. Calling Christians those of “the Way”‘ may have originated in the saying of Christ, or perhaps in His teaching that eternal life can be entered only by those who follow the “narrow” way (Matthew 7:14).

Questions for Application

Why was Paul so obsessed with capturing and persecuting believers?

How can you respond in love-and in truth-to those who claim there is more than one way to salvation?

Opposing the Name of Jesus–Acts 26:9-11*
In Acts 26, Saul explained his lifelong commitment to God to King Herod Agrippa. Accused by the Jews of words and actions against the Law and temple, Paul pointed to his history of strict observance of the Law and faith in the future resurrection of the dead (verses 4-8).

The centre of Saul’s controversy with his fellow Jews was the identity and authority of Jesus Christ. Saul explained that his earlier
understanding of God’s requirements had led him to oppose the name of Jesus (verse 9). From
the beginning of the Church, salvation had been preached in His name alone (see 4:12), bringing heated opposition from Jews who did not accept this message. Saul, among that number, imprisoned Christian believers in Jerusalem (26:10).

Paul also testified that he cast his vote against believers. We have no clear evidence that Saul was a member of the Jewish ruling body the Sanhedrin, so his vote may have been in a trial that was held in the synagogue prior to a trial by the Sanhedrin.

In his violence against believers. Saul attempted to make them “blaspheme” (verse 11, KJV). Cursing God’s name was punishable by death (see Leviticus 24:10- 16). However, this verse may indicate that Saul was attempting to get Christians “to curse Jesus, their Messiah” (see Acts 26:11, NLT).

Saul’s obsession with those who followed Christ caused him to travel even to foreign cities in his pursuit of them. On one such journey his life would be changed forever.

Questions for Application

Can a person be sincere in attempting to serve God, yet be wrong about what pleases Him?
Explain.

In what ways does faith in Christ separate those who have accepted Him from those who have not?

Họw do you suppose Saul (Paul) looked back on his actions after his conversion?

2. Apprehended by Christ

A. A Persecutor Made Helpless– Acts 9:3-9
With written authorisation from the high priest, Saul was on his way to Damascus to arrest followers of Christ; but the Christ he opposed arrested him first. Acts 9:3 states that “a light from heaven suddenly shone down around him” (NLT). God’s sudden, surprising light in Saul’s life would have a permanent impact much like His sudden sound did on the Church on the Day of Pentecost (see 2:2). Saul fell to the ground at the supernatural visitation (9:4; see also Daniel 8:17).

A voice from heaven called Saul by name, and asked, “Why are you persecuting me?” (Acts 9:4, NLT). In keeping with Jewish tradition, Saul likely thought the voice was divine; still, he asked, “Who are you, lord?” (verse 5, NLT). After all that Saul had believed and done, he heard, “l am Jesus, the one you are persecuting” (verse 5, NLT). Christ’s body is the Church. Later, Saul would write extensively about what it meant for the Church as a whole, and for each individual believer, to be identified this way (1 Corinthians 12:27). For now, Saul was discovering the truth that any action against any follower of Christ is an action against Christ
himself.

Jesus’ appearance to Saul was not primarily a reprimand it was a calling. He ordered Saul to continue to Damascus for further orders (Acts 9:6). His companions, not having seen Jesus, did not know what had happened to Saul (verse 7). What they did know was that this relentless persecutor of the Church was now blind, and needed to be led by the hand into the city (verses 8-9).

Questions for Application
List several reasons why it was important that Saul was accompanied by others on his way to Damascus.

How should the relationship between Christ and His body encourage you as you face opposition for being a Christian?

B. Helped by Ananias– Acts 9:10-18
In Luke’s writings–Luke’s Gospel and the Book of Acts–prayer is often seen in conjunction with visions (see also Luke 1:8-11,22; Acts 10:9-16). Saul was likely reflecting on his experiences on the Damascus Road as he prayed, and asking for forgiveness and guidance.

In response, he received a vision of someone named Ananias helping
restore his physical sight (verses 11-12).

Mentioned only here and in Saul’s later testimony, Ananias was a disciple of Jesus living in Damascus (verse 10; 22:11-16). Ananias also had a vision, in which Jesus gave him specific directions about visiting and healing Saul (9:9-12).

Even so, Ananias at first argued with Christ; Saul had done great harm to the church in Jerusalem and was authorised to arrest Christian believers, including those in Damascus (verses 13-14).

The Lord responded in a way entirely unexpected by Ananias. The chief persecutor of Christians would become His “chosen instrument” to carry the gospel both to Gentiles and Jews (verse 15, NLT). Further, this honoured status would not make him immune to persecution; Jesus affirmed that Saul would suffer greatly for His name (verse 16).

Ananias obeved the divine direction and found the house of Judas on Straight Street. Leaving no doubt, he announced that the Lord Jesus had sent him to bring about Saul’s healing, and to help him receive the Holy Spirit (verse 17). The laying on of hands for physical healing and for receiving the Holy Spirit occurs repeatedly in the New Testament (e.g. Luke 4:40; Acts 19:6).

Saul was immediately healed, and baptised in water (verse 18). The details of his Spirit baptism are not recorded here; but Paul later testifies to the Corinthians, “I thank God that I speak in tongues more than any of you” (1 Corinthians 14:18, NLT), indicating he had been Spirit-baptised.

Questions for Application
How can believers maintain openness to God’s supernatural guidance, including visions?

Why is it important to test supernatural experiences by the written Word of God?

Ananias was an ordinary believer who is mentioned only twice in Acts. How can this encourage those who believe they are too “ordinary” to be used by God?

3. Transformed by Christ
A. Before and After—Acts 9:19-25
Saul was blinded in his encounter with Jesus Christ. He also stopped eating and drinking (Acts 9:9). He may have lost all desire for nourishment, or voluntarily begun a period of fasting to seek God to understand what had happened to him (see Daniel 10:12-14). After his healing and encouragement from Ananias, Saul ate again and was strengthened (Acts 9:19).

Immediately he began to proclaim that Jesus was the Messiah, the Son of God (verses 20-22). Jesus made the same claim at His trial. His accusers charged Him with blasphemy, punishable by death (Matthew 26:62-67).]

Saul’s listeners were astonished. They had fully expected him to carry out his mission of arresting disciples and taking them back to the chief priests in Jerusalem (Acts 9:21). However, in the same way that onlookers witnessed great physical miracles of healing and judgement in the Book of Acts, they were witnessing the spiritual miracle of Saul’s transformation from opponent of the faith to one who argued conclusively that Jesus is the Messiah (verse 22).

Saul’s powerful preaching brought opposition from those who did not believe; they banded together to kill him (verses 23-24). However, other believers rescued him by lowering him in a basket to the ground outside the city wall (verse 25).

Questions for Application

How can fasting-voluntarily abstaining from food-help us focus on God?

How is Jesus’ identity as the Messiah-the One anointed by God central to the gospel?

Why is it important for nonbelievers to see both miracles of physical healing, and miracles of lives turned entirely around?

B. Meeting the Church at Jerusalem–Acts 9:26-31

After three years, Saul went to Jerusalem to try to join himself in fellowship to some of the earliest Christian converts (Acts 9:26; see Galatians 1:18). His last appearance there was marked by violent persecution of the Church; not surprisingly, they feared he was masquerading as a disciple to bring them harm.

Saul, however, found a friend in Barnabas, a Levite from the island of Cyprus. Also called Joses or Joseph, the apostles called him “Barnabas,” meaning “Son of Encouragement (Acts 4:36, NLT).

Having heard what Saul had experienced in his conversion, and how he had testified of Christ in Damascus, Barnabas took Saul to the apostles and shared this report (9:27).

This gave Saul opportunity to preach at Jerusalem as he had at Damascus (verses 28-29). This brought him into conflict with Hellenistic Jews (Jews who had adopted Greek language and culture). Again, his life was threatened; and believers in Jerusalem sent him to Tarsus, his birthplace (verse 30).

Luke concluded this section of the Book of Acts with a broad Summary statement about the state of the Church, now spread “throughout all Judea, Galilee, and Samaria (verse 31, NLT). A lull in persecution resulted in a time of peace; believers grew spiritually: and the entire Church grew numerically with the help of the Holy Spirit.

Questions for Application
List the ways you can be an encourager of others who believe in Christ.

Barnabas was a bridge-builder between Saul and the earlier apostles. How can his action of introduction serve as a model for us today?

Call to Discipleship

The Bible states many times that nothing is impossible for God. One proof that He provides is the dramatic turnaround in the life of Saul (Paul). Christians can be encouraged to believe God for great things as they reflect on the story of Saul, and on the many other marvellous works God did in and through the Early Church. Are there individuals who reject the gospel, regardless of how it is presented?

Are there cities where it has been difficult to establish a church? Are there entire countries where sinfulness is praised as something good? God is able to change these situations for His glory, as we pray, put our trust in Him, and commit ourselves to working with Him.

Ministry in Action

ldentify people you know who need God’s power to save, heal, and transform.

Commit yourself to daily prayer for God to move in their lives and in yours. Make yourself available to God to be part of the answer to your prayers.

Customer’s Perspective of CCEs: Winning Secrets For Lead Conversion.

Customer’s Perspective of CCEs: Winning Secrets For Lead Conversion.

When we were discussing brand promise, we said there are some things that your customers expect from your organization.

If you are able to meet or exceed these expectations, then you can be truly called a customer-centric enterprise.

The customers expect the organisation to be honest, and open, and respect the interests of their customers.

They also want an organisation that places a high premium on integrity The customers also want fair value at a fair price.

The organisation is also expected to provide the emotional support necessary to sustain and grow a relationship which could imply putting customers’ needs and long-term relationships before personal short-term gain.

The customer also wants a consistent experience from the organisation that they are dealing with.

In order to provide a consistent experience, you must have a well-trained and knowledgeable workforce that believes that the customer is their priority, not those that treat customers like animals or beggars.

This involves making your employees accountable for every customer that is put in their care.

The organisation on the other hand needs to understand customers and their nature.

They should understand their present value and future state. They also have to understand that customers deserve preferential treatment more than others.

A CCE has a customer strategy that projects worthy brand promise, supported by superior products and services.

The organization tries to promote these quality products and services through designed marketing plans.

These are aimed at targeted customers through well-planned customer profiling and segmentation.

There is also the need for the organization to have a closed-loop feedback reporting system.

This is to make sure that the enterprise constantly meets its customer’s expectations in terms of service quality and customer experiences.

Characteristics of Customer-Centric Organisations: How Customer Centred Organisation Works

One of the unique features of Customer-Centric Enterprise (CCE) is that they address all customer issues fully and resolve them completely.

What we are saying here is that a CCE will never treat a customer(s) complaints with kids’ gloves. They will always ensure that their customers are happy.

This is to prevent their customers from joining the competitor’s Life Cycle.

Also, CCE employees are empowered with authority and tools to resolve customer issues completely in a customer-centric organisation; customer-facing employees do not have to wait for their bosses before they can attend to customers’ complaints.

The customer database is made available to all the employees so that they can attend to any challenges being faced by their customers.

Above all, a customer-centric enterprise allows, its customers to interact with the organisation across multiple channels.

Customers have the independence of deciding the wag in which they wish to relate with the organisation.

Some might decide to walk in into any of the branch offices while some conduct their transaction online.

The hallmark of a CCE is that they stay with their customers all through. Their main driving force is not profit as it may not be forthcoming at the onset but the organization maintains its relationship with the customers through thick and thin.

We can say that a CCE is a company that focuses on customer satisfaction and places the customer at the centre of the company’s existence.

Customer Centricity In CRM: How Organisations Build Winning Customers.

Customer Centricity has much to do with the desire of an organisation to put customers first in whatever thing they are doing. In this article, I am going to talk more about Customer centricity in CRM.

The organisation is evolving into a customer-centric enterprise that will try to anticipate what customers want and try to meet customers at the right place with the right products and services.

A customer-centric enterprise will try to forget about immediate gain. They will be more concerned with building a loyal customer base which in turn generates unimaginable profit in the long run.

Before we move on, I would like to give another definition of CRM. CRM has been defined by the Gartner group as an enterprise-wide business strategy designed to optimize Profitability revenue and customer satisfaction by organizing the enterprise around customer segments, fostering customer satisfying behaviours and linking processes from customers through suppliers.

Objectives of this article
In this article, we want to look at Customer-Centric enterprises, which are organizations that do business from customers’ perceptive. We want to look at:
  •      What is Customer Centricity?
  •   Importance of customer centricity
  •      Customer’s perspective of CCEs.

What is Customer Centricity?

Customer Centricity can be seen as a set of disciplines and practices that allows companies at different customers differently, thereby gaining strategic advantages leading to the expansion of revenues and increased profitability.

In Customer Centricity, you try and analyse your customers and see how you can personalize their service. This will enable you to satisfy them and gain their loyalty.

This will enable the organisation to have more of their customer’s wallet share.

Importance of Customer Centricity

If you ask many entrepreneurs the reason why they are not doing business from the customers’ perspective, they would tell you that it is not profitable to do business from the customers’ perspective. This is absolutely wrong.

A recent study by Delloite Consulting shows that companies that do business from the customers’ perspective are sixty percent more profitable than those that are not doing business from a customer’s perspective.

It has been said earlier that customers will gladly move to any organisation that can give them a better offer at a cheaper rate. The more you satisfy your customers; the more you are raising the exit barrier.

Day 52: 2021 MFM 70 Days Fasting And Prayers

Devotional Songs

Praise and Worship

Prayers of Praise and Thanksgiving

169. Powers giving the power of the dead my garment of greatness to hide, collect it back for me and die, in the name of Jesus.

170. Anointing over my life to be popular for tragedy, dry up by the blood of Jesus, in the name of Jesus.

171. Powers preparing new problems for a new age for me, be suddenly wasted, in the name of Jesus.

172. Every rage of the dead to make me run an errand for them, shut up and die, in the name of Jesus.

173. Strange eyes of the wicked elders, hiding in my head to kill my breakthrough, come out and catch fire, in the name of Jesus.

174. Powers keeping me in an unwanted situation, leave my life alone and die, in the name of Jesus.

175. Iron-like problems disturbing me from moving forward , be terminated now, in the name of Jesus.

176. Strange powers selling me to strange places, blood of Jesus, buy me back, in the name of Jesus.

177. O God, arise and surprise the camp of my enemies with stormy fire, in the name of Jesus.

178. Powers making my day miserable, die suddenly, in the name of Jesus.

179. The sacrifice of darkness putting my life in a situation that I cannot explain, catch fire, in the name of Jesus.
