đ Main Scripture: James 1:14â15 (KJV)
Guard Your Heart. Why You Should Process Every Thought
âBut every man is tempted, when he is drawn away by his lust, and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.â
Greek Key Word: áźĎΚθĎ
Οίι (epithymia) â deep-seated desire, inner craving hidden in the heart before it manifests in action.
⧠Beloved familyÂ
How is church today? How is your Sunday? I come to you with a Heart Checkâa truth that will challenge you, heal you, and realign you with Godâs original intention for your life.
â Nothing âjust happens.â Every actionâwhether righteous or sinfulâhas a root. Like fuel in a gas station before the engine runs, the thought or desire existed before the act. Temptation does not create sin; it only reveals what was already in the heart.
The heart in Scripture (Hebrew: ×Öľ×, lev) is not just emotionsâit is the inner core where your thoughts, intentions, and values live. Jesus said, âFor out of the heart proceed evil thoughtsâŚâ (Matthew 15:19).
⤠LET ME TELL YOU A STORY
Imagine someone going in for surgery. The surgeon will never find pounded yam in their stomach unless it was put there first.
Likewise, no actionâwhether itâs love, betrayal, forgiveness, or revengeâcomes from nowhere. It must be conceived in the âwombâ of the heart before it is born in life.
Many times, your upbringing, discipline, or modesty might have suppressed the expression of certain desires, but suppression is not transformation. If you committed fornication today, it didnât âsuddenlyâ happen; the seed was already there, waiting for an opportunity.
đł LESSONS LEARNEDđ˛
âŞď¸Everything has an origin. Thoughts become desires, desires become actions.
âŞď¸The heart is the first battlefield. Win here, and you win everywhere.
âŞď¸Suppression â Transformation. Only God can remove the root of wrong desires.
âŞď¸Unforgiveness hardens the heart. Retaliation feels right but breeds more darkness.
âŞď¸Guarding the heart is not optional. It is your spiritual survival strategy (Proverbs 4:23).
đ˛ đWhen people hurt youâtreating you like trash, blocking you, ignoring youâitâs tempting to âmirrorâ their actions. You may block them back, avoid them, or secretly wish them harm. It feels like wisdom, but itâs the world reshaping your heart into its own image.
Paul warned: âBe not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with goodâ (Romans 12:21). The devilâs real victory is not in the pain you received, but in the corruption of your heartâs condition.
