In this article, I will show you how to recover that account, regardless of what caused the ban in the first place.

Here is the step-by-step guide that you need to follow.

Step 1: Log in and Visit the Account Quality Centre.

  1. Log in to your Facebook Account.
  2. Visit the Account Quality Page: https://facebook.com/accountquality
  3. You will see any Red flags or warnings related to:
  • Ad Accounts
  • Business Manager
  • Your Profile page
  • Page You Manage

Step 2: Understand why you were restricted.

Click on the specific ad account or business asset that was restricted. Facebook will tell you the reason, such as:

  • Violating Advertising Policies
  • Suspicious payment activity
  • Using misleading content or a landing page
  • Using a Personal Profile that has policy issues.

Note: Sometimes, the restriction is automatic and can be overturned with a proper appeal.

Step 3: Submit an Appeal Request Review

If there is an option to appeal, you will see a button like:

  • Request Review
  • Disagree with the Decision
  • See Details> Followed by an appeal form.

What to write in the Appeal Prompt (Template):

Here is a professional and convincing appeal message you can copy and paste (modify it slightly to fit your tone).

Appeal Message Template

Hello Facebook Support Team,

I recently received a restriction on my ad account (ID: (Insert Ad Account ID)) and I believe this have happened in error. I understand the importance of complying with Facebook Advertising Policies , and I take full responsibility for ensuring my ads meet the required standards.

If any of my ads unintentionally violated a policy, I sincerely apologise and assure you it will not happen again. I am committed to following the guidelines moving forward.

Kindly review the restriction on my account. I truly value the platform and would appreciate the opportunity to continue advertising responsibly.

Thank you for the time and consideration.

Regards.

Step 4: Contact Facebook Live Support (If Appeal Button is not available)

Sometimes the “Request Review” button might not show, or your case needs human intervention. In that case:

Go to https://facebook.com/business/help

  1. Scroll to the bottom of the page
  2. Click on “Get Started” or “Support”
  3. Choose Advertising > Policy & Account Issues > Ad Account Disabled.
  4. If Live chat is available in your region, you will see “Chat with a Representative”.
  5. Provide all requested details (ad account ID, business name etc).

Pro Tip: Stay calm, respectful and professional. They are more likely to help you if you come across as cooperative.

Step 5: Monitor your email for notifications

Facebook will notify you of their decisions via:

  • Email (linked to your Business Manager or personal profile).
  • Facebook notifications
  • Business Suite or Meta Ads Manager

It may take up to 24 to 72 hours, but it can take longer.

Step 6: If your appeal fails, take these steps :

If your appeal is denied:

  1. try again (especially if the option to appeal appears later).
  2. Use a new Business manager (if fully blocked).
  3. Use a clean personal profile
  4. Use new payment details.
  5. Avoid using the same creatives or landing pages that may have caused the issue.

Step 7: Prevent Future Restrictions (Best Practices)

Here are the ways to stay compliant:

Ad Copy rules

  • Don’t use sensational language (You won’t believe…*Cure your problem…)
  • Avoid personal attributes (“Are you depressed?”)

Landing Page Rules

  • Must match the ad topic
  • must include a privacy policy, must not have pop-up or suspicious redirects

Business Setup Rules for you as a Nigerian Facebook User:

  • Use a verified domain and email
  • Set up 2fa (Two Factor Authentication)
  • Verify your business identity in Business Settings

Final Notes

Recovering a restricted Facebook Ad Account takes patience, clarity and professionalism. Most restrictions are reversible if you provide a calm and clear appeal.
