Devotion: Where are the nine
Luke 17:15-19 “And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God, And fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan.
And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine? There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger. And he said to him, Arise, go your way: your faith has made you whole.”
Ten lepers were healed of their leprosy by Jesus and only one came to give thanks. Jesus asked WHERE ARE THE NINE? It’s a question that shows the expectation of the Master. He was expecting them to do what the Samaritan had done.
It is the desire of the Father that we should learn to give thanks in everything. Don’t take things for granted. Give God thanks and also learn to thank people that have done the thing.
Even if it is your friend, spouse, teacher etc you must thank them. Don’t say it is their duty. There are people out there who arent doing it even though it is their duty.
1 Thessalonians 5:18. ” In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.”
Thank God in everything and in all situations. We give thanks at all times and all conditions.
Philemon 1:4. I thank my God, making mention of you always in my prayers.
Psalm 107:1 ” O give thanks to the LORD, for he is good: for his mercy endures for ever.”
Colossians 1:3. We give thanks to God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you,
