RCCG SOD Year Six: Preparing For Miracles

The human flesh is like rubber. If you keep it too long near fire, it will begin to melt. That is why when God gives anointing to people, he makes it in small doses so that the body will not just dissolve. I remember one night when I ministered all night during the convention under very high anointing. Throughout the following day, my body was like rubber. I could not even get up from bed. It was only towards the evening time when it was time for Holy Communion that I was able to manage to get out of bed.

How To Charge Your Spiritual Battery

When you are charging a battery n preparation for use, it has to stay in one place apparently out of action for a period of time but its connected to electricity and it is being charged. Anybody looking at the battery will say it is idle but it is being loaded with power.

Now if it does not stay long enough, when you put it into use, it will not even function. Alternatively, it may run down quickly. So when God wants to use a man or a person for a miraculous ministry, He will take him apart for battery charging. He will take him away from where people will see him and charge him.

Examples

#1 Moses

Because God wanted to use him for forty years, He took him aside for forty years. According to Exodus 3:1, God put Moses in the backside of the desert for forty years.

#2 Elijah

Because God wanted to use this man to bring down fire from Heaven, to call down rain and raise the dead, He isolated him beside a brook for several months, according to 1Kings 17:1-7, And again after that, He locked him up in the house of a widow for years, according to 1 Kings 17:8-15.

And then you will remember the time when he was calling down fire on soldiers in 2 Kings 1:1-15, He was on the hilltop. What was he doing there? He was recharging his battery.

#3 Elisha

In 2 Kings 4:25-27, he was on the hilltop before he raised the dead son of the Shunamite woman. What was he doing there? He was charging his battery.

#4 Lord Jesus

  1. Our great example is the Lord Jesus himself. If you read Mathew 4:1-11. before he began His Ministry at all, He was in the wilderness for forty days and forty nights.

Fasting and praying for forty days and forty nights, alone in the wilderness, charging His battery.

What was the result? Luke 4:14 says:

“And Jesus returned in the power of the spirit into Galilee, and there went out a fame of Him through all the region round about”.

He had already charged His battery for forty days and forty nights so He returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee fully charged.

2. In Luke 6:12-13. Before He chose the twelve Apostles, He prayed all night. All night He was charging His battery. Even after the forty days of charging in the wilderness, He fasted and prayed again throughout the night before He chose those who were going to assist Him.

3. If we look at Matthew 14:13-21 before Jesus Christ fed those five thousand people, He had gone to a deserted place to recharge. You will see some men of God performing miracles and you say, I also want to do this. Do you know what they have done in secret? You might say, “Ah, how come he just prayed for one minute and miracles are happening? He waved his hands and so many people were healed”. What about the secret work he has done? What about the time he spent charging his battery?

4. In Matthew 14:22-36. the Bible tells us, athat s soon as He fed those five thousand, He told His disciples “You get into a boat and begin to go”. And where did He go? He went alone to the mountaintop. He knew He had used part of his battery to multiply the loaves of bread and fish. He went to the mountain again to recharge. The Bible says that He was all the time praying when all the boats left. He was there charging His battery and when the battery was fully charged, He came down and He was able to work on water. When He arrived on the other side, he started healing multitudes, setting captives free, because He had first of all gone to the mountain to recharge.

5. In Mark 1:35-39, before the Ministry of our Lord Jesus Christ spread through Galilee, He first went to a solitary place to recharge.

6. He also recharged hen He was about to go to the Cross in Luke 9: 29-31, He saw the death that was coming very soon and He must die in order to save our souls. This was the biggest part of His ministry. What did he do? He went alone to the mountain to pray and to recharge.

7. In Matthew 26:36-46, He knew that very soon Judas would arrive and there would be beating, there would be spitting, there would be crowns of thorns, there would be nailing on the cross. He found that this was going to make a lot of spiritual energy. What did he do? He went to the Garden of Gethsemane. He prayed the first time, then came to see the disciples but they were sleeping. He went back to recharge, came back again and saw them still sleeping. He said “I think I better recharge again” He recharged three times before He said “Well now I think am ready”.

Now brethren, according to John 5:30, Jesus said,

“I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just: because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me”.

Jesus said, “I, of my self, can do nothing”. That is our LORD Jesus saying unless He has the backing of His Father, unless His battery is charged by His father, He would not be able to do anything.

If that is true of the Lord Jesus Christ, it is true of you too as disciples. If the Almighty Jesus needed to recharge His battery again and again and again, what excuse will you have for not recharging your own again and again?

The Bible says the servant cannot be greater than His master. Will you begin to charge your battery now and do it everytime, because God is going to use you to work miracles and your battery will run down fast if you dont charge and recharge.

Go to the Lord now and do a little charging.
