Anger, The Path To Destruction. RCCG House Fellowship. 1/08/2021

Anger, The Path To Destruction. RCCG House Fellowship. 1/08/2021

OPENING PRAYER: Father, please deliver me from the grip of anger.
PREVIOUS KNOWLEDGE: Who is a strange woman? The leader should briefly explain it again to the members.
MEMORY VERSE: “Be not hasty in thy spirit to be angry: for anger resteth in the bosom of fools.” – Ecclesiastes 7:9

BIBLE TEXT: Genesis 4:3-8 (KJV)
3 And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the LORD.
4 And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the LORD had respect unto Abel and to his offering:
5 But unto Cain and to his offering he had not to respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell.
6 And the LORD said unto Cain, Why art thou wroth? and why is thy countenance fallen?
7 If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him.
8 And Cain talked with Abel his brother: and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him.

LESSON INTRODUCTION
Anger is a strong feeling of displeasure, hostility or antagonism towards someone or something, usually combined with an urge to harm. Today’s Bible text makes it clear that Cain killed his brother Abel because he was wroth (angry) against him. And Cain was severely punished by God for his action. Anger is commonly seen as a little expression and it is often overlooked as sin. But please remember that little foxes spoil the vine (Song of Solomon 2:15).

LESSON AIM: To expose the havoc caused by anger to men of God and see how it can be curbed.

TEXT REVIEW: Genesis 4:3-8

i. Envy can lead to anger and ultimately to murder, if not quickly nip on board.

ii. Cain killed Abel because he was angry with him.
iii. And he did not go unpunished.

LESSON OUTLINES: There are two outlines:

A: MOSES AS A CASE STUDY:

  1. In Genesis 49:5-7 Jacob cursed Simeon and Levi over their anger.
  2. In Exodus 2:1-10 a man from the house of Levi got married to a woman from Levi’s house.
  3. Moses killed an Egyptian for maltreating an Israelite (unchecked anger). – Exodus 2:13
  4. Moses did not enter the promised land because of anger. – Numbers 20:10-13
Anger can stop a child of God from reaching his/her God-given goal. Whether the anger is inherited or developed as a result of a life situation, please nip it on the bud before it stops your destiny.

B: THE WAY OUT:

i.) Give yourself to constant prayer. – Luke 18:1
ii.) Always study the word of God. – 2 Timothy 2:15
iii.) Give heed to the Holy Spirit’s instructions and bear the fruit of the Spirit. – Galatians 5:22-25

ACTIVITY: What stopped Moses from entering the promised land?

SUMMARY: Please glue to the Holy Spirit for the infilling, then anger will become a stranger in your life.

CONCLUSION: Anger is not part of the fruit of the Holy Spirit. Therefore, a Christian should not exhibit it. It can lead to destruction if we refuse to yield to the fruit of the Holy Spirit completely.

PRAYER POINTS:

  1. Father, thank You for Your words that are ever new.
  2. Father, please help me to always remember Your words as it concerns anger in my life.
  3. Father, please uproot completely every seed of anger in all RCCG members.
  4. Father, please help Daddy G.O. to finish strong.
  5. Personal prayer requests.

Beware Of The Strange Woman. RCCG House Fellowship. 25/7/2021

LESSON INTRODUCTION

The strange woman could be seen as an adulterous woman who entices or lures any man into sin of adultery or fornication. Any woman you are into a relationship with outside your marriage is a strange woman. What makes her strange is that her works or ways are in total contradiction to the word of God.
LEADERS DIARY:

LESSON AIM
: To expose or bring to the limelight the works of the adulterous or strange woman.

TEACHING OBJECTIVES: At the end of the lesson, members should be able to:
i. Understand who a strange woman is.
ii. Distance themselves from them before they strike.

TEXT REVIEW: Proverbs 23:24-28
i. Having affairs with a strange woman is like entering into a deep and narrow pit.

ii. Such a person will become prey to the devil.
TEACHING METHOD: The leader should use the interactive / discussion method.
TIME MANAGEMENT: Share the teaching time using the suggested time schedule.
LESSON OUTLINES: There are three outlines:

A: HOW TO IDENTIFY A STRANGE WOMAN:

  1. If a woman flatters a lot with her words. She is the one. – Proverbs 2:16, Proverbs 6:24, Proverbs 7:5
  2. She entices and leads people to death in her bosom. – Judges 16:6-31, Proverbs 2:18-19
  3. She is a smooth and sweet talker. – Proverbs 5:3-4
  4. She is on the way to hellfire and she is ready to take as many men that patronize her ways. – Proverbs 5:5, Proverbs 7:27
  5. She does not delight in the law of the Lord. – Psalm 1:2-3
  6. She is a servant of sin and she is ready to make you also one. – Romans 6:20-21

B: MEN IN THE BIBLE THAT FELL FOR STRANGE WOMEN AND DESTROYED THEIR DESTINIES:

  1. Reuben. – Genesis 49:2-4
  2. Samson. – Judges 16:6-31
  3. King Solomon. – 1 Kings 11:1-12

C: THE WAY OUT:

If you don’t have any involvement with any strange woman, glory be to God, but as many that are already in the strange woman’s web and desire to come out, please follow these steps:

i. Make a strong decision to discontinue the strange woman.
ii. Ask God for forgiveness and mercy.
iii. Totally surrender your life to Jesus Christ.
iv. Prayerfully study the word of God, always.
ACTIVITY: What is the end product of a strange woman?
SUMMARY: Flee from every appearance of evil!

  2. Father, please help us to obey you totally.
  3. Father, please uproot every enemy of RCCG.

Make God The Chief Cornerstone Of Your Relationship/Family.

OPENING PRAYER: Father, please be the chief cornerstone of my life.
PREVIOUS KNOWLEDGE: The leader should ask the members to compare Noah’s generation and this generation to know the difference.

MEMORY VERSE: “Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief cornerstone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded.” – 1 Peter 2:6

BIBLE TEXT: Ephesians 2:20-22 (KJV)
20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief cornerstone;
21 In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto a holy temple in the Lord:
22 In whom ye also are built together for a habitation of God through the Spirit.

LESSON INTRODUCTION

Simply put, a cornerstone is that capstone which gives firmness to a building or house. Figuratively, that which is prominent, fundamental, noteworthy or central. On this note, as a Christian, Jesus Christ should be our Chief cornerstone in our families and relationships. Furthermore, the Holy Spirit speaks expressly in Matthew 6:33 “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”

LEADERS DIARY:
LESSON AIM: To make all and sundry understand that Christ is the Chief cornerstone that cannot fail if we allow Him into our lives.

TEACHING OBJECTIVES: At the end of the lesson, members should be able to:
i. Explain what and who is the Chief cornerstone.
ii. And the benefits of making Him your chief cornerstone.

TEXT REVIEW: Ephesians 2:20-22
i. Jesus Christ is the Chief cornerstone.
ii. All buildings (i.e.) the gospel must fitly frame on Him.
iii. Anything else will not stand the test of time.

TEACHING METHOD: The leader should use the discussion method.
TIME MANAGEMENT: Share the teaching time using the suggested time schedule.
LESSON OUTLINES: There are three outlines:

A: DANGERS OF NOT MAKING GOD THE CHIEF CORNERSTONE IN YOUR FAMILY / RELATIONSHIP:

  1. Errors and mistakes. – Joshua 9:14
  2. Wastefulness. – (The prodigal son in Luke 15:11-19)
  3. Struggles in life.
  4. Unfruitfulness or fruitless efforts.
  5. Untimely death – (the rich fool in Luke 12:16-20)

B: BENEFITS OF MAKING GOD YOUR CHIEF CORNERSTONE:

  1. Fruitfulness. – Genesis 1:28
  2. A life of peace and harmony. – John 14:27
  3. Answers to prayers. – 2 Chronicles 7:14
  4. Greatness. – Deuteronomy 28:1-14
  5. You will win every battle of life. – 1 Samuel 17:45-50

C: THOSE IN THE BIBLE THAT MADE GOD THEIR CHIEF CORNERSTONE:

1 In family (David. – 1 Samuel 30:1-8).
2 In a relationship (Abraham’s Chief servant. – Genesis 24:2-15).
ACTIVITY: Why must we make Christ our Chief cornerstone?
SUMMARY: The foundation of the Lord is still standing sure.

CONCLUSION: Every decision of life without God will lead to frustration and regret. There is a popular saying that ‘HAD I KNOWN, IS THE LAST STATEMENT OF A FOOL’. So, for us not to be seen or called fools, wisdom demands that we must make God the Chief cornerstone of everything in our life endeavour.

PRAYER POINTS:

  1. Father, please help me to make my family to accept You as our cornerstone.
  2. Father, please give our family the needed courage to focus on You.
  3. Father, please grant RCCG the grace to please You at all times, in Jesus’ name.
  4. Father, strengthen Daddy G.O. to finish well and strong.

The Unbelieving And Unrepentant Multitude Of Noah’s Days.

OPENING PRAYER: Father, please give me the grace to be among the people that will make it to heaven on the last day.

PREVIOUS KNOWLEDGE: Who are the destiny manipulators? The leader should ask the members.

MEMORY VERSE: “And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly; ” – 2 Peter 2:5

BIBLE TEXT: Genesis 6:1-8, Matthew 24:37-39 (KJV)
1 And it came to pass when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them,
2 That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; they took them wives of all which they chose.
3 And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be a hundred and twenty years.
4 There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.
5 And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
6 And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.
7 And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.
8 But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.

Matthew 24:37-39;
37 But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,

39 And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

LESSON INTRODUCTION: In a corrupt and depraved era, Noah walked with God. The Scriptures made us to know that man’s wickedness on the earth became great and every inclination of the thoughts of man’s heart was only evil at all times (Genesis 6:5). That was why God in His wrath planned to wipe the unrepentant sinners off from the face of the earth (Genesis 6:6-7). However, because Noah loved God and believed His word, he found grace in the sight of God (Genesis 6:8).
LEADERS DIARY:
LESSON AIM: To illustrate the times of Noah’s days of disobedience and flood and to compare it with the coming “Day of the Lord”.
TEACHING OBJECTIVES: At the end of the lesson, members should be able to:
i. Explain what happened during Noah’s time.
ii. And to compare it with the second coming of Jesus Christ.

TEXT REVIEW: Genesis 6:1-8, Matthew 24:37-39

i. The bible states that iniquities were renowned and these things grieved God.
ii. God decided to destroy the world and He made a way of escape for everybody.
iii. But only eight people were saved. Jesus said this generation would experience the same.
TEACHING METHOD: The leader should use the teaching/lecture method.
TIME MANAGEMENT: Share the teaching time using the suggested time schedule.

LESSON OUTLINES: There are two outlines:

A: HOW MANY PEOPLE BELIEVED IN GOD?

Only a few people, eight in all, believed in God: Noah, his wife, his three sons and their wives were the only eight who were saved. – 1 Peter 3:20

B: WHAT HAPPENED TO THOSE WHO DID NOT BELIEVE IN GOD?

God said to Noah in Genesis 7 to go into the ark with his whole family because He found him righteous in that generation. He also commanded him to take with him seven of every kind of a clean animal, a male and its female, and two of every kind of an unclean animal, a male and a female and also seven of every kind of a bird, male and female, to keep their various kinds alive upon the face of the earth. Noah did as God commanded and the door of the ark was shut. Heavy rain fell resulting in a great flood. Every living thing on the face of the earth was wiped out by the flood (Genesis 7:1-23).

ACTIVITY: What happened during Noah’s days?
SUMMARY: Please strive and make sure that you don’t miss heaven.
CONCLUSION: As were the days of Noah, so will be the coming of the Son of man (Matthew 24:37).
The day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night (1 Thessalonians 5:2). God has planned another day when He will judge the people of the world and that coming day of judgement will be more terrible than the judgement which came upon Noah’s generation.

PRAYER POINTS:

  1. Thank God for the privilege He has given you to be part of today’s fellowship.
  2. Ask God for the grace to be righteous at all times.
  3. Pray for the rapid growth of RCCG spiritually, numerically and materially.
  4. Pray for Daddy G.O. and his family intensely.
  5. Personal prayer requests.

ASSIGNMENT: Diligently carry out all the daily tasks outlined in the GOLDEN DIET below.

GOLDEN DIET FOR THE WEEK (print or write it out so that you can participate daily):

Destiny Manipulators (The Case Of The Two Harlots)

Destiny Manipulators (The Case Of The Two Harlots)

PREVIOUS KNOWLEDGE: Is it possible to live a lifestyle of evangelism? The leader should ask.
MEMORY VERSE: “And the other woman said, Nay; but the living is my son, and the dead is thy son. And this said, No; but the dead is thy son, and the living is my son. Thus they spake before the king.” – 1 Kings 3:22
BIBLE TEXT: 1 Kings 3:16-28 (KJV)
16 Then came there two women, that were harlots, unto the king, and stood before him.
17 And the one woman said, O my lord, I and this woman dwell in one house, and I was delivered of a child with her in the house.

18 And it came to pass the third day after that I was delivered, that this woman was delivered also: and we were together; there was no stranger with us in the house, save we two in the house.
19 And this woman’s child died in the night; because she overlaid it.
20 And she arose at midnight, and took my son from beside me, while thine handmaid slept, and laid it in her bosom, and laid her dead child in my bosom.
21 And when I rose in the morning to give my child suck, behold, it was dead: but when I had considered it in the morning, behold, it was not my son, which I did bear.
22 And the other woman said, Nay; but the living is my son, and the dead is thy son. And this said, No; but the dead is thy son, and the living is my son. Thus they spake before the king.
23 Then said the king, The one saith, This is my son that liveth, and thy son is the dead: and the other saith, Nay; but thy son is dead, and my son is the living.
24 And the king said, Bring me a sword. And they brought a sword before the king.
25 And the king said, Divide the living child in two, and give half to the one, and half to the other.
26 Then spake the woman whose the living child was unto the king, for her bowels yearned upon her son, and she said, O my lord, give her the living child, and in no wise slay it. But the other said, Let it be neither mine nor thine, but divide it.

27 Then the king answered and said, Give her the living child, and in no wise slay it: she is the mother thereof.
28 And all Israel heard of the judgment which the king had judged; and they feared the king: for they saw that the wisdom of God was in him, to do judgment.

LESSON INTRODUCTION

Who are destiny manipulators or destroyers? These are human agents of the devil or his demons that negatively alter the divine plan or the glory of an individual. A typical example is King Herod in Matthew 2:13 “…for Herod will seek the young child to destroy him.” Consider how he wasted the lives and destinies of all the children of two years and below in Jerusalem and its coasts. – Matthew 2:16

Similarly in our bible text of today, two harlots shared the same room; each was delivered of a baby. However, one negligently slept over her baby and the baby died. The mother of the dead child exchanged her dead baby with the living one while the rightful mother was also asleep. But for the right judgement of King Solomon, the living child would have been killed also as that was her request before the King.

LEADERS DIARY:

LESSON AIM:
To expose the activities of destiny manipulators around us.

TEACHING OBJECTIVES: At the end of the lesson, members should be able to:
i. Explain those who are destiny manipulators.
ii. What are their operations and specialities?

TEXT REVIEW: 1 KINGS 3:16-28

i. Two women gave birth to two sons each. One slept on her son and he died with his destiny.

ii. The other son that was alive would have been killed and his destiny but for the right and accurate judgement of King Solomon.
TEACHING METHOD: The leader should use the interactive / discussion method.
TIME MANAGEMENT: Share the teaching time using the suggested time schedule.
LESSON OUTLINES: There are two outlines:
A: EXAMPLES OF DESTINY MANIPULATORS:

  1. Family background. – Jabez 1 Chronicles 4:9-10
  2. Satan and his forces. – Matthew 13:25
  3. Disobedience to God’s word. – Isaiah 1:19-20
  4. Peer influence.
  5. The desires of the flesh. – Romans 8:3-8

B: HOW CAN YOU DISCOVER AND FULFILL YOUR DESTINY?

  1. You need God to watch over you and your destiny. Therefore accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour. – Romans 10:9
  2. Humble yourself before the Lord, always. – James 4:7
  3. Read, study and meditate in the word of God, always. – Joshua 1:8, 1 Timothy 2:15
  4. Live a life of sanctification and consecration. – John 17:17, Exodus 32:29
  5. Pray ceaselessly. – Luke 18:1

ACTIVITY: How do destiny manipulators operate?
SUMMARY: Destiny manipulators are everywhere. Please be prayerful.
CONCLUSION: Many people died prematurely and wasted their destinies because of manipulators like King Herod (Matthew 2:16) and the careless harlot who killed her only child. Why don’t you allow God to watch over your destiny? He will defend you to the end.

PRAYER POINTS:

  1. Father, I thank You for Your word today.
  2. Father, help me to fear You in all my ways.
  3. Father, please deliver all RCCG members from destiny manipulators and destroyers.
  4. Father, please give Daddy G.O. the grace to finish strong.
  5. Personal prayer requests.

Making Evangelism A Lifestyle. RCCG House Fellowship.

OPENING PRAYER: Father, please give me a passion for souls.
PREVIOUS KNOWLEDGE: Who can state why God will punish those who kill? The leader should ask the members.

MEMORY VERSE: “And they went forth, and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.” – Mark 16:20

BIBLE TEXT: Acts 4:1-22 (KJV)
1 And as they spake unto the people, the priests, and the captain of the temple, and the Sadducees, came upon them,
2 Being grieved that they taught the people and preached through Jesus the resurrection from the dead.
3 And they laid hands on them and put them in hold unto the next day: for it was now eventide.
4 Howbeit many of them which heard the word believed; and the number of the men was about five thousand.
5 And it came to pass on the morrow, that their rulers, and elders, and scribes,
6 And Annas the high priest, and Caiaphas, and John, and Alexander, and as many as were of the kindred of the high priest, were gathered together at Jerusalem.
7 And when they had set them in the midst, they asked, By what power, or by what name, have ye done this?
8 Than Peter, filled with the Holy Ghost, said unto them, Ye rulers of the people, and elders of Israel,
9 If we this day be examined of the good deed done to the impotent man, by what means he is made whole;
10 Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole.
11 This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner.
12 Neither is their salvation in any other: for there is none other names under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
13 Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.
14 And beholding the man which was healed standing with them, they could say nothing against it.
15 But when they had commanded them to go aside out of the council, they conferred among themselves,
16 Saying, What shall we do to these men? for that indeed a notable miracle hath been done by them is manifest to all them that dwell in Jerusalem, and we cannot deny it.
17 But that it spread no further among the people, let us straitly threaten them, that they speak henceforth to no man in this name.
18 And they called them and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus.
19 But Peter and John answered and said unto them, Whether it be right in the sight of God to hearken unto you more than unto God, judge ye.
20 For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.
21 So when they had further threatened them, they let them go, finding nothing how they might punish them, because of the people: for all men glorified God for that which was done.
22 For the man was above forty years old, on whom this miracle of healing was showed.

LESSON INTRODUCTION: Evangelism is simply telling others about what the good things of the gospel of Christ have brought to our lives. In other words, we must go everywhere with this good news of the gospel like the apostles of the old. However, while evangelising, our lifestyle should portray Christ (Acts 11:26).

LEADERS DIARY:
LESSON AIM: To portray evangelism as the heartbeat of God.
TEACHING OBJECTIVES: At the end of the lesson, members should be able to:
i. Continue in the work of evangelism without looking back.
ii. Emphasize the need to live like Christ as an evangelist.

TEXT REVIEW: Acts 4:1-22
i. The apostles of old obeyed the commandment of preaching the gospel all over the world.

ii. Notable miracles were performed by them according to the word of God.
iii. Even when they were threatened by the then high priests, they did not stop preaching.
TEACHING METHOD: The leader should use the discussion method.
TIME MANAGEMENT: Share the teaching time using the suggested time schedule.

Thou Shall Not Kill. RCCG House Fellowship 13/06/2021

OPENING PRAYER: Father, please give me the grace to keep Your words.
PREVIOUS KNOWLEDGE: The leader should ask the members to mention some causes and consequences of immorality.

MEMORY VERSE: “Thou shalt not kill.” – Exodus 20:13
BIBLE TEXT: Genesis 4:3-15, Luke 18:20 (KJV)

Genesis 4:3-15;
3 And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the LORD.
4 And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the LORD had respect unto Abel and to his offering:

5 But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect.
9 And the LORD said unto Cain, Where is Abel thy brother? And he said, I know not: Am I my brother’s keeper?
10 And he said, What hast thou done? the voice of thy brother’s blood crieth unto me from the ground.
11 And now art thou cursed from the earth, which hath opened her mouth to receive thy brother’s blood from thy hand;
12 When thou tillest the ground, it shall not henceforth yield unto thee her strength; a fugitive and a vagabond shalt thou be in the earth.
13 And Cain said unto the LORD, My punishment is greater than I can bear.
14 Behold, thou hast driven me out this day from the face of the earth; and from thy face shall I be hid; and I shall be a fugitive and a vagabond in the earth; and it shall come to pass, that every one that findeth me shall slay me.
15 And the LORD said unto him, Therefore whosoever slayeth Cain, vengeance shall be taken on him sevenfold. And the LORD set a mark upon Cain, lest any finding him should kill him.

Luke 18:20;

18 Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Honour thy father and thy mother.

LESSON INTRODUCTION

To kill means to murder. It also means to put an end to a life, to terminate life or to prevent what is living from living again. We pray that as many that are into this act of killing, today’s message shall ignite their true repentance in Jesus’ name. The sanctity of life is gradually being eroded by men and women who are into the hired assassination, ritual killing, serial killing, kidnapping, armed robbery, occultism, banditry, terrorism, suicide bombing, cannibalism etc.

LEADERS DIARY:
LESSON AIM: To reiterate God’s stance on shedding innocent blood.
TEACHING OBJECTIVES: At the end of the lesson, members should be able to:
i. Explain why God commanded that we should not kill.
ii. Be aware of the impending judgement that will be meted by those who kill.
TEXT REVIEW: GENESIS 4:3-15, LUKE 18:20
i. Killing is forbidden by God who created all things.

ii. Cain was punished seriously by God for killing Abel, his brother.
iii. Jesus still emphasises it in the new testament.

TEACHING METHOD: The leader should use the discussion method.

TIME MANAGEMENT: Share the teaching time using the suggested time schedule.

LESSON OUTLINES: There are two outlines:

A: WHY DID GOD SAY THAT THOU SHALL NOT KILL?

  1. God uses this commandment to create in us the sanctification of life. – Exodus 20:13
  2. We are created in His own image and are precious in His sight. – Genesis 1:26
  3. No killer or murderer will make heaven. – 1 John 3:15
  4. God hates hands that shed innocent blood. – Proverbs 6:16-17
  5. The killer will be judged. – Leviticus 124:17, Matthew 5:21
  6. Cain was cursed by God because he killed Abel, his brother. – Genesis 4:11-12
  7. God’s weighty punishment may vary on the killers. – Genesis 4:11-12, 15, 23-24

B: GOD COMMANDED “THOU SHALL NOT KILL”, BUT WHY IS KILLING STILL RAMPANT?
Despite the prohibition of killing by God and humanity, man still indulges in it. Reasons are:

  1. Hatred for one another and lack of love. – 1 John 3:15
  2. Envy. – (Cain and Abel in Genesis 4:4-12)
  3. Lack of knowledge of the word of God and the fear of God. – Hosea 4:6
  4. Love of money, power and position.
  5. Addiction to alcohol and hard drugs often hardens the killers’ emotions.

ACTIVITY: Why would God punish those who kill others?

SUMMARY: Please stop this killing.

CONCLUSION: Killers will be hiding from God (Genesis 4:14). Fellowship with God has ended. They shall become fugitives and vagabonds. They shall become agents of the devil (John 10:10a). The devil will use them to kill and would finally waste their lives. We should forgive one another and show mercy so that we can reap mercy. We are to love one another because our God is love. – 1 John 4:7-8

PRAYER POINTS:

  1. Thank God for your salvation and for His word that daily moulds us.
  2. Father, restore genuine repentance to those that shed innocent blood.
  3. Father, fill the world with the spirit of forgiveness and love, in Jesus’ name.
  4. Pray for Daddy and Mummy G.O. and their family.
  5. Individual prayers.

BIBLE TEXT: 1 Corinthians 6:9-11, 1 Corinthians 6:18-20, Galatians 5:19-21 (KJV)
1 Corinthians 6:9-11;

9 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,

10 Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.
11 And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.
1 Corinthians 6:18-20;
18 Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body, but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.

19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.

Galatians 5:19-21;
19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,

20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

Who Says That Lieing Cannot Kill ? Ask Ananias And Saphirra

OPENING PRAYER: Father, please deliver me from every form of lies.
PREVIOUS KNOWLEDGE: The leader should ask the members to state the conditions to make it to heaven.
MEMORY VERSE: Lying lips are an abomination to the LORD: but they that deal truly are his delight. – Proverbs 12:22
BIBLE TEXT: Acts 5:1-11 (KJV)
1 But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession,
2 And kept back part of the price, his wife also being privy to it, and brought a certain part, and laid it at the apostles’ feet.
3 But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost and to keep back part of the price of the land?
4 Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God.
5 And Ananias hearing these words fell down, and gave up the ghost: and great fear came on all them that heard these things.
6 And the young men arose, wound him up, and carried him out, and buried him.
7 And it was about the space of three hours after, when his wife, not knowing what was done, came in.
8 And Peter answered unto her, Tell me whether ye sold the land for so much? And she said, Yea, for so much.
9 Then Peter said unto her, How is it that ye have agreed together to tempt the Spirit of the Lord? behold, the feet of them which have buried thy husband are at the door, and shall carry thee out.
10 Then fell she down straightway at his feet, and yielded up the ghost: and the young men came in, and found her dead, and, carrying her forth, buried her by her husband.

11 And great fear came upon all the church, and upon as many as heard these things.

LESSON INTRODUCTION

Do you know that little foxes can spoil the vine? (Song of Solomon 2:15). Though in most cases little sin, such as lying is trivialised. Do you know, this little sin, when consistently committed, becomes a perpetual lifestyle over time and God is not pleased. Do you even know that all liars would end up in the lake of fire? – Revelations 21:8

In today’s Bible text in Acts 5:1-11, we learnt a painful lesson of how lying caused the untimely death of a couple during the early church. Then, all Christians had all things in common. Those who had assets voluntarily sold them and brought the entire price of their assets to the apostles “and distribution was made unto every man according as he had need.” (Acts 4:32-37). However, a couple – Ananias and Sapphira conspired not to disclose the actual price they sold their asset but retained apart. (lying). First, it was the husband, Ananias, that died (Acts 5:5) and there hours later the wife, Sapphira, came in and lied too. She also died instantly (Acts 5:10).
LEADERS DIARY:
LESSON AIM: To give an overview of lies, their effects and remedies.
TEACHING OBJECTIVES: At the end of the lesson, members should be able to:
i. Understand God’s viewpoint on lies.
ii. And the punishment that awaits all liars.

TEXT REVIEW: Acts 5:1-11
i. Ananias conspired with His wife Sapphira to lie to Apostle Peter.
ii. They did not know that it was not Peter they lied to but the Holy Spirit.
iii. And the consequence of sin (lie) is dead. That was what they got.
TEACHING METHOD: The leader should use the discussion method.
TIME MANAGEMENT: Share the teaching time using the suggested time schedule.
LESSON OUTLINES: There is one outline:

A. WHY GOD HATES LYING:

  1. It is not in God’s nature and He doesn’t want His children to exhibit it. – Numbers 23:19, Titus 1:2, Hebrews 6:18
  2. Lying reveals a lack of godly nature and it is a mark of unfaithfulness. – Proverbs 14:5, 12:17, 13:5
  3. Lying is often motivated by fear which is contrary to love and faith in God. – Genesis 20:9-11, 1 John 4:18
  4. Lying accompanies other sins and liars will perish in hell fire. – Hosea 4:1-2, Psalm 5:6, Proverbs 19:9, Revelations 21:8
  5. Lying is a major cause of separation and unanswered prayers. – Isaiah 59:2-3
  6. Jesus called Satan “a liar and the father of lies.” – Acts 5:3, John 8:44

ACTIVITY: State reasons why people lie. Will liars make heaven?
SUMMARY: Please stop lying because it will land you in hell.

CONCLUSION: Ananias and Sapphira paid dearly for their lying prowess, which reveals how much God detests lying. Though lies may prevail for a moment, you can be assured, that the truth will prevail. – Proverbs 12:19
PRAYER POINTS:

  1. Father, please help me to always speak the truth whether it is convenient or not.
  2. Father, please anoint every house fellowship centre member and leader afresh with the spirit of truth.
  3. Father, help all RCCG members to speak the truth at all times.

Don’t Be Left Behind Part III. RCCG House Fellowship

OPENING PRAYER: Father, please, because I am Yours, don’t let me backslide.

PREVIOUS KNOWLEDGE: The leader should ask the members to list some of the activities that will be taken place after the rapture despite satanic full influence.

MEMORY VERSE: Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord: – Hebrews 12:14

BIBLE TEXT: Luke 14:15-27 (KJV)
15 And when one of them that sat at meat with him heard these things, he said unto him, Blessed is he that shall eat bread in the kingdom of God.
16 Then said he unto him, A certain man made a great supper, and bade many:
17 And sent his servant at supper time to say to them that were bidden, Come; for all things are now ready.
18 And they all with one consent began to make excuse. The first said unto him, I have bought a piece of ground, and I must needs go and see it: I pray thee have me excused.
19 And another said, I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I go to prove them: I pray thee have me excused.
20 And another said, I have married a wife, and therefore I cannot come.
21 So that servant came, and shewed his lord these things. Then the master of the house being angry said to his servant, Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in hither the poor, and the maimed, and the halt, and the blind.
22 And the servant said, Lord, it is done as thou hast commanded, and yet there is room.
23 And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.
24 For I say unto you, That none of those men which were bidden shall taste of my supper.
25 And there went great multitudes with him: and he turned, and said unto them,
26 If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.
27 And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple.

LESSON INTRODUCTION

In the second part of this series we learnt that as soon as the Anti-Christ declares himself as a god, a new man will arise to help him organise his religion. This new man is called the false prophet and through him and the world church, Christians who are left behind as well as the Jews will be sorely persecuted. The sufferings of this period will be so much that Israel will finally repent and Jesus will return with His saints to wipe out the army of the Anti-Christ at Armageddon. Then the reign of Christ for thousand years will start. Satan will be out of the way and the Kingdom of God on earth will be wonderful.
LEADERS DIARY:

A: LESSON AIM: To list out the conditions to meet before someone gains access into the Kingdom of God.

TEACHING OBJECTIVES: At the end of the lesson, members should be able to:
i. Understand that nobody is permitted to enter into God’s Kingdom except those who fulfil the conditions.

ii. Understand that to enter into the Kingdom of God is sacrificial.
TEXT REVIEW: LUKE 14:15-27
i. God has prepared the meal ready for us.
ii. All that was invited gave one excuse or the other.
iii. God was not disappointed, rather He sent for other people.
TEACHING METHOD: The leader should use the teaching/lecture method.

TIME MANAGEMENT: Share the teaching time using the suggested time schedule.

LESSON OUTLINES: There are two outlines:

A. THERE ARE CONDITIONS FOR ENTRY INTO THE KINGDOM AND HINDRANCES TOO:
To be part of those who will reign with Christ, the following are some of the conditions you must satisfy:
(i) you must be born again
(ii) you must have a child-like spirit
(iii) you must have a forgiving spirit
(iv) you must be holy and
(v) you must witness all the time.
The things that could prevent you from entering the Kingdom include:
a. Love of money
b. Lack of clear-cut decision
c. You may refuse the invitation to enter
d. You may lose the opportunity to enter
e. The privilege to enter may be taken away from you
f. You may refuse to do the will of God. –
John 3:3, 5, Matthew 18:1-4, Hebrews 12:14, John 15:2, 6, Luke 19:15-19, Luke 9:61-62, Luke 14:15-24

B. TO ENTER THE KINGDOM IS WORTH ANY SACRIFICE:
The Kingdom belongs to the poor in spirit and whoever wants to enter must submit to God’s wisdom, power and mercy. Men are advised to seek the Kingdom desperately and be willing to pay any price or make any sacrifice to enter. It is surely better to be in the Kingdom than to be left behind. Please, do not be left behind. – Matthew 5:3, 1 Corinthians 1:25-28, Psalm 73:22-24, Matthew 6:33, Matthew 11:12, Mark 9:43-48

ACTIVITY: Mention some conditions for entering into the Kingdom of God.

SUMMARY: Please give it all that it takes to enter into the Kingdom of God.

Hospital And Prison Correctional Centre Evangelism

OPENING PRAYER: Father, please help me to fulfil Your mandate in hospital and prison evangelism.

PREVIOUS KNOWLEDGE: The leader should ask the members to explain how a believer can be like Christ in mission work.

MEMORY VERSE: Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. – Matthew 25:36

BIBLE TEXT: Matthew 25:31-46 (KJV)
Mat 25:31  “When the Son of Man comes as King and all the angels with him, he will sit on his royal throne,
Mat 25:32  and the people of all the nations will be gathered before him. Then he will divide them into two groups, just as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.
Mat 25:33  He will put the righteous people at his right and the others at his left.
Mat 25:34  Then the King will say to the people on his right, ‘Come, you that are blessed by my Father! Come and possess the kingdom which has been prepared for you ever since the creation of the world.
Mat 25:35  I was hungry and you fed me, thirsty and you gave me a drink; I was a stranger and you received me in your homes,
Mat 25:36  naked and you clothed me; I was sick and you took care of me, in prison and you visited me.’
Mat 25:37  The righteous will then answer him, ‘When, Lord, did we ever see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you a drink?
Mat 25:38  When did we ever see you a stranger and welcome you in our homes, or naked and clothe you?
Mat 25:39  When did we ever see you sick or in prison, and visit you?’
Mat 25:40  The King will reply, ‘I tell you, whenever you did this for one of the least important of these followers of mine, you did it for me!’
Mat 25:41  “Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Away from me, you that are under God’s curse! Away to the eternal fire which has been prepared for the Devil and his angels!
Mat 25:42  I was hungry but you would not feed me, thirsty but you would not give me a drink;
Mat 25:43  I was a stranger but you would not welcome me in your homes, naked but you would not clothe me; I was sick and in prison but you would not take care of me.’
Mat 25:44  Then they will answer him, ‘When, Lord, did we ever see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and we would not help you?’
Mat 25:45  The King will reply, ‘I tell you, whenever you refused to help one of these least important ones, you refused to help me.’
Mat 25:46  These, then, will be sent off to eternal punishment, but the righteous will go to eternal life.”

LESSON INTRODUCTION:

Prisons in Nigeria have now be rebranded as Correctional Centres. Hospitals and prisons are unpleasant places to be admitted into. The two places are for people that are going through storms of life, afflictions, suffering or trials occasioned by sins, miscarriage of justice or in some cases it may be a test of their faith like Job etc.. – Job 2:7, Genesis 3:11, 4:8.
Many of the people in the hospitals and prisons are desperately in need of divine intervention and are therefore ready to receive anyone with a solution to their problems.

Churches need to encourage/create the hospital and prison evangelism units and strengthen their house fellowship centres to reach out to such souls in our hospitals and prisons sometimes called “the affliction zone” as all these souls are important to God. Christ’s ministry, when He was here on earth, was heavenly places on this zone. – Luke 4:18, 1 Peter 2:21-24

LEADERS DIARY:

LESSON AIM: To
examine hospital and prison evangelism holistically based on biblical perspectives.

TEACHING OBJECTIVES: At the end of the lesson, members should be able to:
i. Follow strictly bible based hospital and prison evangelism.
ii. Identify the benefits that accompany this.

TEXT REVIEW: MATTHEW 25:31-46
i. It is pertinent to note the wording of this text; two groups of people will stand before the king.
ii. The first group of people are known for Christian Social Responsibility (CSR) as part of evangelism while the second group of people sees this as a burden. It should not be done at all.
iii. The first group is given a place in heaven but the second group is sent to hellfire.

TEACHING METHOD: The leader should use the teaching/lecture method.

TIME MANAGEMENT: Share the teaching time using the suggested time schedule.
LESSON OUTLINES: There is one outline:

WHY DO WE EVANGELISE THE AFFLICTED PEOPLE?

  1. Sin can cause long-term internal suffering or curse. – Genesis 4:6-7, Romans 8:18-21, hence they need salvation.
  2. To encourage the afflicted to trust God through suffering. – Job 16:16, Hebrews 3:17-19
  3. Sometimes the suffering or affliction can be honour in disguise. – Acts 16:28-30
  4. To preach to true believers that suffering for Christ’s sake is a privilege. – Philippians 1:29, 1 Peter 2:21-24
  5. To offer to help hands and bear their burden. – Matthew 25:40

ACTIVITY: Is it proper to evangelise prison inmates? Why?

SUMMARY: We are mandated to evangelise all nations of the world. This means everywhere, even prisons and hospitals. Please start now if you are yet to.

CONCLUSION: Current research and studies show that more and more people are getting into affliction zones, mainly because of an increase in the incidence of diseases and injustices in many countries/governments. But this gives us an opportunity to reach out to such souls for salvation because in their affliction they are waiting for a solution and would readily accept any divine intervention. Our house fellowship centres and churches should begin to set aside days for hospital and prison evangelism.

PRAYER POINTS:

  1. Father, thank You for the salvation of my soul.
  2. Father, have mercy on the sick and those in captivity all over the world.
  3. Father, revive the hospital and prison evangelism units in our churches and house fellowship centres.
  4. Father, reward Daddy G.O.’s passion for the souls in hospitals and prisons.
  5. Individual prayer.

ASSIGNMENT: Diligently carry out all the daily tasks outlined in the GOLDEN DIET below.

LESSON INTRODUCTION

The word missionary is derived from the Latin word “mitto” which means “to send”. There is a greek equivalent called “apostello”. They both mean “to send”. Therefore a missionary may be defined or described as someone who is commissioned by a superior authority to bring a message or to carry out a workshop instructed by the sending authority. The missionary is sent to relate God’s salvation message to the world. Thus Jesus Christ is God’s missionary per excellence.

Are You Prepared For His Second Coming. RCCG House Fellowship

OPENING PRAYER: Father, please help me not to miss heaven.
PREVIOUS KNOWLEDGE: The leader should ask the members to explain how a Christian can grow to the full stature of Jesus Christ.
MEMORY VERSE: Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh. – Matthew 24:44

BIBLE TEXT: Matthew 24:3-44 (KJV)
Mat 24:3  Later, as Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, his disciples came to him in private and asked, “When will this happen? What will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the world?”
Mat 24:4  Jesus answered: Don’t let anyone fool you.
Mat 24:5  Many will come and claim to be me. They will say that they are the Messiah, and they will fool many people.
Mat 24:6  You will soon hear about wars and threats of wars, but don’t be afraid. These things will have to happen first, but that isn’t the end.
Mat 24:7  Nations and kingdoms will go to war against each other. People will starve to death, and in some places, there will be earthquakes.
Mat 24:8  But this is just the beginning of troubles.
Mat 24:9  You will be arrested, punished, and even killed. Because of me, you will be hated by people of all nations.
Mat 24:10  Many will give up and will betray and hate each other.
Mat 24:11  Many false prophets will come and fool alot of people.
Mat 24:12  Evil will spread and cause many people to stop loving others.
Mat 24:13  But if you keep on being faithful right to the end, you will be saved.
Mat 24:14  When the good news about the kingdom has been preached all over the world and told to all nations, the end will come.
The Abomination of Desolation
Mat 24:15  Someday you will see that “Horrible Thing” in the holy place, just as the prophet Daniel said. Everyone who reads this must try to understand!
Mat 24:16  If you are living in Judea at that time, run to the mountains.
Mat 24:17  If you are on the roof of your house, don’t go inside to get anything.
Mat 24:18  If you are out in the field, don’t go back for your coat.
Mat 24:19  It will be a terrible time for women who are expecting babies or nursing young children.
Mat 24:20  And pray that you won’t have to escape in winter or on a Sabbath.
Mat 24:21  This will be the worst time of suffering since the beginning of the world, and nothing this terrible will ever happen again.
Mat 24:22  If God doesn’t make the time shorter, no one will be left alive. But because of God’s chosen ones, he will make the time shorter.
Mat 24:23  Someone may say, “Here is the Messiah!” or “There he is!” But don’t believe it.
Mat 24:24  False messiahs and false prophets will come and work great miracles and signs. They will even try to fool God’s chosen ones.
Mat 24:25  But I have warned you ahead of time.
Mat 24:26  If you are told that the Messiah is out in the desert, don’t go there! And if you are told that he is in some secret place, don’t believe it!
Mat 24:27  The coming of the Son of Man will be like lightning that can be seen from east to west.
Mat 24:28  Where there is a corpse, there will always be buzzards.
The Coming of the Son of Man
Mat 24:29  Right after those days of suffering, “The sun will become dark, and the moon will no longer shine. The stars will fall, and the powers in the sky will be shaken.”
Mat 24:30 Then a sign will appear in the sky. And there will be the Son of Man. All nations on earth will weep when they see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
Mat 24:31  At the sound of a loud trumpet, he will send his angels to bring his chosen ones together from all over the earth.
The Lesson of the Fig Tree
Mat 24:32  Learn a lesson from a fig tree. When its branches sprout and start putting out leaves, you know that summer is near.
Mat 24:33  So when you see all these things happening, you will know that the time has almost come.
Mat 24:34  I can promise you that some of the people of this generation will still be alive when all this happens.
Mat 24:35  The sky and the earth won’t last forever, but my words will.
No One Knows That Day and Hour
Mat 24:36  No one knows the day or hour. The angels in heaven don’t know, and the Son himself doesn’t know. Only the Father knows.
Mat 24:37  When the Son of Man appears, things will be just as they were when Noah lived.
Mat 24:38  People were eating, drinking, and getting married right up to the day that the flood came and Noah went into the big boat.
Mat 24:39  They didn’t know anything was happening until the flood came and swept them all away. That is how it will be when the Son of Man appears.
Mat 24:40  Two men will be in the same field, but only one will be taken. The other will be left.
Mat 24:41  Two women will be together grinding grain, but only one will be taken. The other will be left.
Mat 24:42  So be on your guard! You don’t know when your Lord will come.
Mat 24:43  Homeowners never know when a thief is coming, and they are always on guard to keep one from breaking in.

LESSON INTRODUCTION

To prepare is to make ready for a particular purpose, it also means to put things in readiness. Brethren, from today’s bible text Jesus gave us a lengthy description of many signs that would precede His second coming. It is now over two thousand years after the death, resurrection and ascension of Christ. Therefore it is pertinent for any heaven minded person to address the state of his/her preparedness for the second coming of our Lord, Jesus Christ.

LEADERS DIARY:
LESSON AIM:
To encourage Christians not to lose focus of their eternal home.

TEACHING OBJECTIVES: At the end of the lesson, members should be able to:
i. Explain the pilgrimage status in this world.
ii. And stay prepared always waiting for that great day.
TEXT REVIEW: Matthew 24:3-44

i. Jesus is coming again whether some people believe it or not.

ii. Jesus took time to explain from the text, those things that will take place before His second coming.
iii. Please take heed so that ‘if I had known’ will not be our last statement.
TEACHING METHOD: The leader should use the discussion method.
TIME MANAGEMENT: Share the teaching time using the suggested time schedule.
LESSON OUTLINES: There are three outlines:
1. THE SECOND COMING OF CHRIST AS RECORDED IN THE BIBLE:

  1. It was revealed to Daniel and recorded. – Daniel 7:13-14
  2. It was revealed by Jesus in Matthew 24:30-31
  3. Jesus hold His disciples of His second coming again. – John 14:1-3

2. WHAT ARE THE SIGNS OF HIS SECOND COMING?

  1. No one knows the exact time except the father in heaven. – Matthew 24:36
  2. It will be immediately after the tribulation. – Matthew 24:29
  3. Many will not believe or care about it like in the days of Noah. – Matthew 24:37-39

3. HOW CAN I PREPARE MYSELF FOR HIS SECOND COMING?
The Lord is coming only for His saints. These are Christians who are faithful and are genuinely born again. Are you one of them? – 1 Thessalonians 4:14-17
Therefore as Christians, we must:

  1. watch for His coming. – Matthew 24:42-44, Philippians 3:20
  2. don’t be carried away by the cares of the world. – Matthew 24:38
  3. live a life of holiness. – 1 Peter 1:16, Hebrews 12:14

ACTIVITY: Is there any possibility that Jesus Christ will come back?
SUMMARY: Please stay focused. Don’t be double-minded for the second coming of Jesus Christ is at hand.
CONCLUSION: God has said it and it was also foretold by His prophets while Jesus Himself had declared that His second coming is certain. Now, the question remains: “Are you prepared?”

OPENING PRAYER: Father, please help me to grow to the full stature of Jesus Christ.
PREVIOUS KNOWLEDGE: The leader should ask the members this question: God promises to sanctify His name. How?
MEMORY VERSE: Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: – Ephesians 4:13

BIBLE TEXT: Ephesians 4:1-15 (KJV)
1 I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called,
2 With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love;
3 Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;
5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism,
6 One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.
7 But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ.
8 Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.
9 (Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth?
10 He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.)
11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:
14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;
15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:

Lord, Sanctify Your Great Name. RCCG House Fellowship 28/03/21

TOPIC: Lord, Sanctify Your Great Name
OPENING PRAYER: Oh Lord, please sanctify Your holy name in my life.
PREVIOUS KNOWLEDGE: The leader should ask the members to mention how someone can grieve the Holy Spirit.

MEMORY VERSE: And I will sanctify my great name, which was profaned among the heathen, which ye have profaned in the midst of them; and the heathen shall know that I am the LORD, saith the Lord GOD when I shall be sanctified in you before their eyes. – Ezekiel 36:23

BIBLE TEXT: Ezekiel 36:17-36 (KJV)
17 Son of man, when the house of Israel dwelt in their own land, they defiled it by their own way and by their doings: their way was before me as the uncleanness of a removed woman.

18 Wherefore I poured my fury upon them for the blood that they had shed upon the land, and for their idols wherewith they had polluted it:
19 And I scattered them among the heathen, and they were dispersed through the countries: according to their way and according to their doings I judged them.

20 And when they entered unto the heathen, whither they went, they profaned my holy name, when they said to them, These are the people of the LORD, and are gone forth out of his land.
21 But I had pity for mine holy name, which the house of Israel had profaned among the heathen, whither they went.
22 Therefore say unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord GOD; I do not this for your sakes, O house of Israel, but for mine holy name’s sake, which ye have profaned among the heathen, whither ye went.
23 And I will sanctify my great name, which was profaned among the heathen, which ye have profaned in the midst of them; and the heathen shall know that I am the LORD, saith the Lord GOD when I shall be sanctified in you before their eyes.
24 For I will take you from among the heathen, and gather you out of all countries, and will bring you into your own land.
25 Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you.
26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh.
27 And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.
28 And ye shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers, and ye shall be my people, and I will be your God.
29 I will also save you from all your uncleannesses: and I will call for the corn, and will increase it, and lay no famine upon you.
30 And I will multiply the fruit of the tree, and the increase of the field, that ye shall receive no more reproach of famine among the heathen.
31 Then shall ye remember your own evil ways, and your doings that were not good, and shall loathe yourselves in your own sight for your iniquities and for your abominations.

32 Not for your sakes do I this, saith the Lord GOD, be it known unto you: be ashamed and confounded for your own ways, O house of Israel.
33 Thus saith the Lord GOD; In the day that I shall have cleansed you from all your iniquities I will also cause you to dwell in the cities, and the wastes shall be built.
34 And the desolate land shall be tilled, whereas it lay desolate in the sight of all that passed by.
35 And they shall say, This land that was desolate is become like the garden of Eden, and the waste and desolate and ruined cities are become fenced, and are inhabited.
36 Then the heathen that are left round about you shall know that I the LORD build the ruined places, and plant that that was desolate: I the LORD have spoken it, and I will do it.

LESSON INTRODUCTION

To sanctify means to make holy, set apart or consecrated or hallowed. Our God is a great God and His name is great. Our God is holy and all He does is holy. Even when we profane or desecrate God’s name, God keeps His reputation as Holy.

LEADERS DIARY:

LESSON AIM: To state categorically that God will not allow any defilement concerning His name.

TEACHING OBJECTIVES

At the end of the lesson, members should be able to:
i. Steer clear from defiling God’s name.
ii. Also teach others not to defile God’s name.
TEXT REVIEW: EZEKIEL 36:17-36
i. God will not want His name to be profaned.
ii. Therefore, as a child of God whatever you do, make sure you sanctify God’s name.

TEACHING METHOD

The leader should use the teaching/lecture method.

TIME MANAGEMENT

Share the teaching time using the suggested time schedule.
LESSON OUTLINES: There are three outlines:

1. WAYS BY WHICH GOD’S NAME IS PROFANED OR DEFILED:

  1. By our behaviour. – Ezekiel 36:17

  3. By the worship of idols. – Ezekiel 36:18
  4. By the shedding of innocent blood. – Ezekiel 36:18
  5. When the heathen mock us and mock our God. – Ezekiel 36:20

2. WHY GOD WILL SANCTIFY HIS NAME – EZEKIEL 36:21-23:

  1. To protect the reputation of His name.
  2. To make the heathen to know that He is the Lord.

3. HOW GOD PROMISED TO SANCTIFY HIS GREAT NAME:

  3. He will sprinkle clean water (now: the blood of Jesus) for cleanliness. – Ezekiel 36:25
  4. He will give a new heart and take away the stony heart. – Ezekiel 36:26
  5. He will give a new spirit and put the spirit within you to keep you from falling into sin again. – Ezekiel 36:27
  6. He shall bring you to dwell in the land that He had promised you (your destiny). – Ezekiel 36:28

ACTIVITY: What does it mean to defile God’s name?
SUMMARY: God is holy, so please don’t defile His name.

CONCLUSION

Can we examine ourselves individually and identify ways by which we have debased the name of the Lord among the heathen? The Bible says that God will not allow His name to be polluted again. – Ezekiel 39:7

PRAYER POINTS:

  1. Father, please have mercy on us for defiling Your name many times.
  2. Father, please for Your great name’s sake, take away our reproaches.

Be Holy, For You Are The Temple Of Holy Spirit.

OPENING PRAYER

Father, please help me to remain holy till I see you in glory.

PREVIOUS KNOWLEDGE

The leader should explain again to the members that they should not compromise the salvation of their loved ones in sickness or affliction.

MEMORY VERSE

What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? – 1 Corinthians 6:19

BIBLE TEXT

1 Peter 1:15-19 (KJV)
1Pe 1:15  Be holy in everything you do, just as God is holy. He is the one who chose you.
1Pe 1:16  In the Scriptures God says, “Be holy, because I am holy.”
1Pe 1:17  You pray to God and call him Father, but he will judge everyone the same way—by what they do. So while you are visiting here on earth, you should live with respect for God.
1Pe 1:18  You know that in the past the way you were living was useless. It was a way of life you learned from those who lived before you. But you were saved from that way of living. You were bought, but not with things that ruin like gold or silver.
1Pe 1:19  You were bought with the precious blood of Christ’s death. He was a pure and perfect sacrificial.

LESSON INTRODUCTION
For us to fully understand today’s topic, we shall throw light on some fundamental terms like ‘be Holy’, ‘Temple’, Holy Spirit ‘ and ‘Temple of the Holy Spirit ‘.
What is holiness? This is the state of being sacred, sanctified, pure etc.
What is a temple? Simply put, this is a house of worship. So, the temple of the Holy Spirit means, the house in which the Holy Spirit lives.
Who then is the Holy Spirit? This is the Spirit of the Living God. He is the third in Trinity. The Holy Spirit is known by other names such as the Holy Ghost, the Spirit of Truth, The Teacher etc.
In the current dispensation, believers are the mobile carriers of the Holy Spirit and not the church buildings. God demands holiness from us because we are the house that the Holy Spirit lives in. “What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?” – 1 Corinthians 6:19
TEXT REVIEW: 1 Peter 1:15-19
i. Holy living is a command from God to all of His children.

ii. Therefore, we must as a matter of necessity live Holy.
iii. With all awareness that we are the temple of the Holy Spirit.

LESSON OUTLINE:

ATTRIBUTES OF THE HOLY SPIRIT’S HOUSE:

  1. God does not tolerate sin. – Habakkuk 1:13
  2. Such a person must live by the word of God. – Joshua 1:8
3.The person must live a consecrated life. – Exodus 32:29
  3. Such a fellow must live a sacrificial life for God. Romans 12:1-2
  4. Be perfect as your heavenly father is perfect. – Matthew 5:48, Hebrews 12:14, 1 Kings 8:61

BENEFITS OF HOUSING THE HOLY SPIRIT:

  1. You will live in divine health. – Exodus 15:26
  2. You will be a carrier and channel of God’s power and blessings. – Psalm 1:1-3
  3. The Trinity will dwell in you and love you. – John 14:23
  4. You will become a carrier of spiritual gifts. – 1 Corinthians 12:1-7

ACTIVITY: State at least five attributes of the Holy Spirit.
SUMMARY: The Holy Spirit dwells in holy vessels. Are you one of them?
CONCLUSION: Anyone who still commits sin cannot be a dwelling place or a house of the Holy Spirit, because as His name implies ‘Holy’, He cannot live in a filthy house or place.
PRAYER POINTS:

  1. Thank God for your salvation which is a pre-requisite for housing the Holy Spirit.
  2. Father, please help me to become the residence of the Trinity. – John 14:23
  3. Father, help Your church to be pure without blemish.
  4. Father, help Daddy G.O. and Mummy G.O. to finish strong.
  5. Your personal prayer requests.

Don’t Compromise Your Loved One’s Salvation In Sickness Or Affliction

OPENING PRAYER: Father, please help me not to approach any evil altar for the healing/deliverance of my loved ones in case of sickness or affliction.

PREVIOUS KNOWLEDGE: The leader should ask the members to explain what they understand by the statement ‘going back to your vomit ‘.
MEMORY VERSE: And, behold, they brought to him a man sick of the palsy, lying on a bed: and Jesus seeing their faith said unto the sick of the palsy; Son, be of good cheer; thy sins be forgiven thee. – Matthew 9:2

BIBLE TEXT: Luke 5:17-26 (KJV)
Luk 5:17  And it happened on one of the days, even He was teaching. And Pharisees and teachers of the Law were sitting by, who had come out of every village of Galilee and Judea and Jerusalem. And the power of the Lord was there, for the curing of them.
Luk 5:18  And behold, men carrying, on a cot, a man who was paralyzed. And they sought to bring him in and to lay him before Him.
Luk 5:19  And not finding a way by which they might bring him in through the crowd, going up on the housetop, they let him down through the tiles with his cot into the midst, before Jesus.
Luk 5:20  And seeing their faith, He said to him, Man, your sins are forgiven you.
Luk 5:21  And the scribes and Pharisees began to reason, saying, Who is this who speaks blasphemies? Who can forgive sins, except God alone?
Luk 5:22  But knowing their thoughts, answering, Jesus said to them, Why do you reason in your hearts?
Luk 5:23  Which is easier, to say, Your sins are forgiven you, or to say, Rise up and walk?
Luk 5:24  But so that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins, He said to the paralytic, I say to you, Arise, and take up your cot and go to your house.
Luk 5:25  And immediately he rose up before them and took up that on which he lay. And he departed to his own house, glorifying God.
Luk 5:26  And they were all amazed, and they glorified God and were filled with fear, saying, We saw wonderful things today.

LESSON INTRODUCTION

ROMANS 8:35-39 discourages us from trading our love for Christ (salvation) because of sickness, affliction, problems etc. Christianity does not oppose seeking medical treatment in times of sickness. However, not all cases can be tested by hospitals especially those bordering on spiritual matters. In Luke 13:11, a woman was bent by a spirit of infirmity for eighteen years and she could not straighten up herself until she was healed by Jesus.
Mark 5:25-26; a woman suffered from a haemorrhage for twelve years without cure until she met Jesus.

LEADERS DIARY:
LESSON AIM:
To explain to members not to let go of the guide or the salvation of their loved ones because of sickness.

TEACHING OBJECTIVES:
At the end of the lesson, members should be able to:

i. Stand their ground on the note that all things work together for good to them that love God.
ii. Appreciate that there is no alternative in our Christian race.

TEXT REVIEW: LUKE 5:17-26
i. This man was gravely sick and could not do anything for himself.

ii. His friends to him to Jesus for healing but because of the multitude, they could not meet Jesus directly.
iii. They did not look for an alternative healing centre of the devil, but persisted on the right source of healing (Jesus) for their friend and got it in the end.

TEACHING METHOD:
The leader should use the teaching/lecture method.

TIME MANAGEMENT:
Share the teaching time using the suggested time schedule.

LESSON OUTLINES: There are two outlines:
A. WHAT HAPPENS WHEN THE CASE IS BEYOND THE HOSPITAL?

Some patients are prematurely discharged by hospitals while some are out-rightly rejected when their cases are beyond medical knowledge.

Should such patients be too weak or unconscious to take decisions, the family members usually decide where else to take them to.
In today’s main text, (Luke 5:18-20) the four friends of the paralytic man took Him to Jesus.
Where will you take your sick one for healing? Is it to the power of darkness or to Jesus Christ?

B. THOSE IN THE BIBLE WHO WAITED UPON THE LORD FOR HEALING AND DELIVERANCE:

JOB:
He went through all manners of sicknesses and afflictions. Even his wife told him to deny God and die but he refused and waited on the Lord. In the end, God healed and blessed him. – Job 42:10-17.

LAZARUS:
When he was sick, his sisters sent for Jesus, but when Jesus delayed in coming, it did not make Mary and Martha look for an alternative. Eventually, Lazarus died. At last Jesus Christ came there and brought him back to life. – John 11:39-44

ACTIVITY:
If your sick person is being rejected by both the hospital and your local pastor where else can you take him/her for healing? Please be truthful.

SUMMARY:
Please don’t compromise the salvation of your loved ones.

CONCLUSION:
Brethren, regardless of the gravity of the sickness and affliction, please don’t compromise the salvation of your loved ones. Never take your loved ones to the forces of darkness for healing or deliverance. If you do, you will be giving their souls to the devil.

PRAYER POINTS:

  1. Father, thank You for my salvation.
  2. Father, help us not to deny You irrespective of what we face.
  3. Father, increase our faith to please You in RCCG.
  4. Father, please help Your son, Daddy G.O. to finish strong.
  5. Individual prayers.

Do Not Return To Your Vomit : RCCG House Fellowship 07/03/2021

OPENING PRAYER: Father, please help me not to return to my vomit.
PREVIOUS KNOWLEDGE: The leader should ask the youth in the centre, how many of them have though of legitimate work they will like to engage themselves in?
MEMORY VERSE: As a dog returneth to his vomit, so a fool returneth to his folly. – Proverbs 26:11
BIBLE TEXT: 2 Peter 2:20-22 (KJV)

20 For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.
21 For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.
22 But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog has turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.

LESSON INTRODUCTION:

In this teaching we shall explain the following three terms:

a. “Do Not” – as used here is a command of a prohibition. Do not do such a thing.
b. “Return” – means to go back; to come/take back to an old place or to an old thing.
c. “Vomit” – is any stomach content disgorged through the mouth.
So literally returning to one’s vomit is simple going back or taking back that which was once rejected, abandoned and forsaken openly and willingly. Spiritually, vomit in all forms of ungodliness, sins, and all ungodly behaviour or activities. Do not return to your vomit to a Christian means: do not go back to your old sinful life.

LEADERS DIARY:
LESSON AIM:
To enable the members to explain what God means by ‘don’t go back to your vomit.

TEACHING OBJECTIVES:
At the end of the lesson, members should be able to:

i. Explain the terms ‘returning to your vomit’ and ‘do not return to your vomit ‘.
ii. Give some examples of those who did not go back to their vomit and benefits.
TEXT REVIEW: 2 PETER 2:20-22
i. We are enjoined by the bible text not to return to our sin after being redeemed by the blood of Jesus.

ii. The bible calls such people ‘DOGS’
iii. It is possible that there may not be another chance for repentance.
TEACHING METHOD:
The leader should use the interactive/discussion method.

TIME MANAGEMENT:
Share the teaching time using the suggested time schedule.

LESSON OUTLINES: There are two outlines:

A. WHAT SHOULD A BELIEVER DO IN ORDER NOT TO RETURN TO HIS/HER VOMIT?

  • True repentance is required.
  • Living a new life in Christ will prevent you. 2 Corinthians 5:17
  • Emptying the old man in you.
  • Encourage oneself to be steadfast in the Lord
  • Embrace Christ fully
  • Pray without ceasing
  • Then resist the devil
  • Flee every appearance of evil (flee bad company, corrupt company etc.)

B. CONSEQUENCES OF RETURNING TO YOUR VOMIT:

  • You will be cut off from the presence of the Holy Spirit
  • Shame and disgrace. – Isaiah 30:3
  • Sin takes over
  • Death
  • Rejection. – 1 Samuel 16:1
  • Demotion
  • Total fall from grace

Bible Texts
2 Peter 2: 20-22
2Pe 2:20  If people have escaped from the corrupting forces of the world through their knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and then are again caught and conquered by them, such people are in worse condition at the end than they were at the beginning.
2Pe 2:21  It would have been much better for them never to have known the way of righteousness than to know it and then turn away from the sacred command that was given them.
2Pe 2:22  What happened to them shows that the proverbs are true: “A dog goes back to what it has vomited” and “A pig that has been washed goes back to roll in the mud.”
Is 30:3
Isa 30:3  But the king will be powerless to help them, and Egypt’s protection will end in disaster.
1 Sam 16:1
1Sa 16:1  The LORD said to Samuel, “How long will you go on grieving over Saul? I have rejected him as king of Israel. But now get some olive oil and go to Bethlehem, to a man named Jesse, because I have chosen one of his sons to be king.”
ACTIVITY:
How can a believer go back to his/her vomit?

SUMMARY: Don’t go back to the world !!

Idle Youths Are Vulnerable To Vice And Temptations

Opening Prayer

Father, please provide jobs for our youths and occupy them for your glory

Memory Verse

“The hands of the diligent shall bear rule: but the slothful shall be under tribute.” Prov 12:24
Bible Text: II Thess 3:6-16
2Th 3:6  Our friends, we command you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to keep away from all believers who are living a lazy life and who do not follow the instructions that we gave them.
2Th 3:7  You yourselves know very well that you should do just what we did. We were not lazy when we were with you.
2Th 3:8  We did not accept anyone’s support without paying for it. Instead, we worked and toiled; we kept working day and night so as not to be an expense to any of you.
2Th 3:9  We did this, not because we do not have the right to demand our support; we did it to be an example for you to follow.
2Th 3:10  While we were with you, we used to tell you, “Whoever refuses to work is not allowed to eat.”
2Th 3:11  We say this because we hear that there are some people among you who live lazy lives and who do nothing except meddle in other people’s business.
2Th 3:12  In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ we command these people and warn them to lead orderly lives and work to earn their own living.
2Th 3:13  But you, friends, must not become tired of doing good.
2Th 3:14  It may be that some there will not obey the message we send you in this letter. If so, take note of them and have nothing to do with them, so that they will be ashamed.
2Th 3:15  But do not treat them as enemies; instead, warn them as believers.
Benediction
2Th 3:16  May the Lord himself, who is our source of peace, give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with you all.

Lesson Introduction

There is a popular adage that says ‘an idle mind is the devil’s workshop’. No one was created a nonentity by God. Everybody has a talent embedded in him or her, our today’s text is in consonance with it. Today, you can bear witness that some physically challenged people are displaying their talents and skills in various vocations. So, any youth or anybody who says he/she has nothing to do should refrain from being idle and check inward.

What does it mean to be vulnerable?

It is when someone is exposed to the chance of being attacked or harmed, either physically or emotionally. Then what is ‘vices’? Vice or vices means a bad habit. It, therefore, means that if you are idle, there is that tendency of being prone or exposed to some habits that will be hazardous to the society.

Some Youths Who Distinguished Themselves Through Hardwork In The Bible

David: He was an instrumentalist and this took him to the palace. 1 Sam 16:16-23
Joseph: Even as a slave, his master recognised his hard work and handed over his properties to Jospeh to manage Genesis 39:1-4

Bible Reference

I Sam 16:16-23
1Sa 16:16  So give us the order, sir, and we will look for a man who knows how to play the harp. Then when the evil spirit comes on you, the man can play his harp, and you will be all right again.”
1Sa 16:17  Saul ordered them, “Find me a man who plays well and bring him to me.”
1Sa 16:18  One of his attendants said, “Jesse of the town of Bethlehem has a son who is a good musician. He is also a brave and handsome man, a good soldier, and an able speaker. The LORD is with him.”
1Sa 16:19  So Saul sent messengers to Jesse to say, “Send me your son David, the one who takes care of the sheep.”
1Sa 16:20  Jesse sent David to Saul with a young goat, a donkey loaded with bread, and a leather bag full of wine.
1Sa 16:21  David came to Saul and entered his service. Saul liked him very much and chose him as the man to carry his weapons.
1Sa 16:22  Then Saul sent a message to Jesse: “I like David. Let him stay here in my service.”
1Sa 16:23  From then on, whenever the evil spirit sent by God came on Saul, David would get his harp and play it. The evil spirit would leave, and Saul would feel better and be all right again.
Genesis 39:1-4
Gen 39:1  Now the Ishmaelites had taken Joseph to Egypt and sold him to Potiphar, one of the king’s officers, who was the captain of the palace guard.
Gen 39:2  The LORD was with Joseph and made him successful. He lived in the house of his Egyptian master,
Gen 39:3  who saw that the LORD was with Joseph and had made him successful in everything he did.
Gen 39:4  Potiphar was pleased with him and made him his personal servant; so he put him in charge of his house and everything he owned.

Idle Youths Will Be Exposed To Many Evil Things Such As:

  1. Hard Drugs. Drug Barons may lure them to carry drugs for them.

  6. They may be lured to join secret cults for quick wealth and fame.
  7. male and female prostitution etc

Restitution. RCCG House Fellowship Manual.

OPENING PRAYER: Father, please give all saints the hearts to restitute their ways.

PREVIOUS KNOWLEDGE: Leader should remind members on reasons why they should repent from all ungodly ways that can cause doom to their journey in life.

MEMORY VERSE: “Then they shall confess their sin which they have done: and he shall recompense his trespass with the principal thereof, and add unto it the fifth part thereof, and give it unto him against whom he hath trespassed.” – Numbers 5:7.

BIBLE TEXT: Exodus 22:1-5 (KJV)

1 If a man shall steal an ox, or a sheep, and kill it, or sell it; he shall restore five oxen for an ox, and four sheep for a sheep.

2 If a thief be found breaking up, and be smitten that he die, there shall no blood be shed for him.

3 If the sun be risen upon him, there shall be blood shed for him; for he should make full restitution; if he have nothing, then he shall be sold for his theft.

4 If the theft be certainly found in his hand alive, whether it be ox, or ass, or sheep; he shall restore double.

5 If a man shall cause a field or vineyard to be eaten, and shall put in his beast, and shall feed in another man’s field; of the best of his own field, and of the best of his own vineyard, shall he make restitution.

LESSON INTRODUCTION: What is restitution? It means making right what you have done wrongly. Luke 19:8. This is therefore important for genuine Christians and believers to attend to this fact; for without this, the sin is not forgiven no matter how long you pray and fast. Because it is clearly part of true repentance and salvation. Luke 19:9.

LEADER’S DIARY

LESSON AIM: To have an understanding of what restitution entails and its benefits.

TEACHING OBJECTIVES: At the end of the lesson, members should be able to:
i. Know that restitution involves repentance.
ii. Access benefits that restitution brings.
TEXT REVIEW: EXODUS 22:1-5
i. Restitution adverts God’s wrath.

LESSON OUTLINE ONE: REPENTANCE INVOLVES RESTITUTION

Restitution is restoring or giving back to another person or people that which we have unjustly taken away. If we have deprived others of some material or anything, we must then return those things back or the value of whatever it is. Either intangible or not, every effort must be made to remove the curse of the wrong upon our he if indeed we have genuinely repented. Proverbs 26:11, Luke 19:9-10, 2 Corinthians 7:10-11.

LESSON OUTLINE TWO: BENEFITS OF RESTITUTION

Just as anyone who fails to restitute his/her ways before God and even the man who is wronged or offended; there are still blessings for us if we can yield to do the needful and the blessings are however numerous. They include the following:

  1. Divine restoration of the things returned. God will return it back and it shall be in form of blessings unto the one restituted.
  2. Prayer of blessings unto you, from the person who was wronged and robbed. Judges 17:1-2.
  3. The total settlement of old accounts. 1 Timothy 5:24
  4. It increases peace among men. Romans 12:18.
  5. Access to new life. Luke 19:9.
  6. Freedom from curses and God’s anger.

ACTIVITY: Let the leader reiterates the need for instant restitution.

SUMMARY: Restitution ends living under a spell and God’s curse.

CONCLUSION: Undone restitution gives satan a chance and opportunity to accuse and oppose you in the presence of God. And you being under a curse from the one you have wronged, the problems with which satan will oppose you will just simply and easily come to pass EXCEPT this needful (RESTITUTION) is correctly done. A word is enough for the available wise.

PRAYER POINTS:

  1. In Jesus’ Name, my Heavenly Father I thank You for opening my eyes and heart, to see and understand how important it is to restitute my ways.
  2. My Father, My Father, I love to take a step to restitute my ways and blessed of You; please teach me, direct me and help me in Jesus’ Name.
  3. Father, bring all believers to the realm of restoring stolen things from God.
  4. Father, remove all curses incurred on us through the negligence of not restituting in Jesus’ Name.
