Introduction
The word Dominion means “rule or power over”. God has sovereign power over His creation and has also delegated the authority to mankind to have dominion over the works of His Hands. (Gen. 1:26; Ps. 8:6). However, some Christians are passive and do not see that God wants the Church to take charge of and revamp their societies. Instead, they only see the command for believers to preach the gospel as in Matt. 28:19-20 and wait for God to implement social reforms himself.

Dominion Theology

Dominion Theology refers to a line of thought with regard to the role of the church in contemporary society. It holds that Christians should rule all areas of society, personal and corporate by the Law of God. This belief is based on Genesis 1:28, which says, “Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion..”. This verse is a divine mandate to claim dominion over the earth, physically, spiritually, economically, politically etc. (Luke 19:13). This theological idea about Christians having political dominion has its root in the nature of God and reality, the importance of justice, the value of freedom, and a rich understanding of the human person as created in the image of God (Ps. 82:6; John 10:34), made for flourishing (Psalms 92:12-13), and called to an eternal destiny (Romans 8:30).

Disposition Of Christians To Political Dominion

The political docility of Christians of the early church could be traced to the fact that Isreal and some gentile nations were under the colonial rule of the Roman Empire and Christians were thought to be in subjection to the authorities that be (Romans 13:1) at best, they were to pray for those in power and could not participate in the politics of their time (1 Timothy 2:1-2). This might have been responsible for why Christians hesitate to be actively involved in the politics of our days, whereas, the God we believe in and serve is interested in the way the world is governed (Genesis 1:28).

Satan stole the “key of dominion” when he deceived Adam and Eve. Then, when Christ gave the “key of the kingdom” to Peter in Mattew 16:19, it was a sign that dominion had been returned to man, Now it is our job to “take back” what is rightly ours. Political dominion is a must for Christians and not an option because the earth is our place of dominion, not Heaven (Ps. 115:16). Christians have to occupy strategic political positions to be at the helm of affairs for positive influence.

While it is true that we belong to a heavenly kingdom that is not of this world, we are still numbered among the people in this world and are subjected to the rules and systems of its government (John 17:15-16). We indeed seek another home(Hebrews 11:10,14,13:14) but that should not be an excuse to be nonchalant about our present abode and refuse to take responsibility for its governance (Psalms 115:16). It is also true that the world is passing away (1 Cor. 7:31), but we should not forget that we will also give an account of how it is managed before it passes away (1 John 2:17).

Therefore, it should be of concern to Christians to be a part of “high-level” decision-making processes to ensure that justice is done, biblical principles are upheld and the Christian faith survives and its preserved (Ps. 33:5; Micah 6:8). As the salt and light of the world (Matt. 5:13-16), when we engage ourselves in politics and government, we speak out for those who cannot speak and defend the rights of the poor and needy (Prov. 31:8-9). 

CONCLUSION

All Christians are political whether we realise it or not. If we choose not to engage in politics, it is a vote for the status quo-the way things are.

Introduction 

There are two root words in Greek translated virtue. The first is “dunamis” as in Luke 6:19; 8:46 meaning “miraculous power”. The second us “arete” meaning “moral excellence” or “goodness”. A virtue is a right inner disposition , and a disposition is a tendency to act in a certain ways. It is not a sudden impulse but a settled habit of mind. Virtues are general character traits that provide inner sanctions on our particular motives, intentions and outward product.

Our God is excellent in all ways (Ps. 76:4; Matt. 5:48). He expects His children to be like Him. (Gen. 17:1; 1Peter 1:15-16). Hence, the main aim of a Christian should be to walk to please God. Virtue is attainable only I’d we follow the divine guidelines (Phil. 4:8).

2Peter 1:5-7 tell us how to achieve virtue. It is like a ladder; the attaining of one leads to the next, and so on. The sequence begins with faith and ends with love. Without faith, nobody can have virtue. Faith supplies moral excellence as taught in the Bible (Heb. 11:6). After we have attained some knowledge, we add self-control or self-discipline. This is the opposite of the excess of the world.

Perseverance means viewing the unfolding of time with God’s eyes. (2 Peter 3:8-9; Heb. 12:2; Matt. 6:33). Godliness means that we have very practical awareness of God in every aspect of our life (1 Timothy 6:6: 2 Peter 1:3). Kindness is described here as ‘Philadelphia’, the kind of love that we have for brothers and sisters. The most magnificent virtue of all: Christian love. These love is ” agape” abd results in self-sacrificing action for another (1 Cor. 13; John 3:16; 1 John 3:16). 

The Desire To Excel

The desire to excel comes with the recognition of excellence, and a consciousness of falling short of it. The goal is to be like Jesus Christ because He is the glory of God revealed ( Heb. 1:3;John 17; Romans 3:23 ). This desire to excel also involves: willingness to work hard towards perfection (Luke 10:17-20; Matt. 17: 15-21). There must also be willingness to be taught, not only by those who are in a higher position , but anyone regardless of position or age (1 Cor. 1:19-29). 

CONCLUSION

Now we see that if we indeed have these virtues as an integral part of our being, abd if they continue to increase as we apply them , then we lead a useful, fruitful life for Christ.

Stand Out As A Believer In Christ 

Believers in Christ are to stand our from all forms of sins, wordly pleasure and be seperated unto God. Basically, a believer must: 

1. Stand out from all forms of sins such as fornication , adultery, alcoholism , smoking etc ( Gal. 5:29-21; Eph. 4:22). 

2. Stand Out from all works of darkness ( Eph. 5:8,11). 

3. Standout from heresies , false doctrines and their perpetrators (2 John 9-11; 1 Tim. 6:5).

4. Stand out from customs and traditions of men that contradicts scriptures (Col. 2:8). 

5. Never marry am unbeliever . It is forbidden ( 2 Cor. 6:12-17). 

6. Stand put from any relationship , association , business partnership or friendship in which Christ is not glorified or proclaimed. 

Why And How ?

To gain divine acceptance and approval as a son or daughter of God , every believer in Christ must stand out (2 Cor. 6:17-18). Hence, it is important to know how to really stand out. Here are some of the steps to take:

1. Be sober, vigilant abd prayerful (1 Peter 5:8; Matt. 26:41). 

2. Abstain from all appearance of evil, evil communications and corrupt companies ( 1 Thess. 5:22; 1 Cor. 15:33).

3. Be a fruit producer : bear the fruit of the spirit and win souls (Matt. 12:33; Gal. 5:22-23).

4. Examine and renew your mind daily. ( 2 Cor. 12:5; Romans 12:2).

5. Study and meditate on the word of God to know His plan and purpose for your life (2 Timothy 2:15; Ps. 1:1-3; Joshua 1:8). 

6. Put all your trust in God and not in mortals (Prov. 3:5-6; Ps. 118:8). 

CONCLUSION

If you stand out completely from sin a d worldly amusement and separate unto God, you shall be transformed into the image of Jesus Christ (2 Cor. 4:18) the Lord shall receive you (2 Cor. 6:17) and you shall be a vessel unto honour fit for the masters use (2 Tim. 2:20-21).

Bible Passage: Heb. 12:5-12 

Introduction 

To chasten is to correct or discipline someone, often with the use of some pretty sharp punishment for the purpose of moral improvement (Prov. 19:18; 23:13). We need to consider God’s Chastening and what He (God) as our Father expects from us in response to the chastisement we receive from Him (Deut 8:5). Note that chastisement is not meant for destruction. A parent chastises the child he it she loves (Prov. 3:12: 13:24).

Purpose Of Divine Chastening 

God Chastening is an expression of His love which He uses to check us and to ensure that as His children , we are living Right with Him. Though painful, it eventually yields the fruit of righteousness (Heb. 12:11). It is a test of true love: a corrective measure and not a punitive one (2 Samuel 7:14-15; Psalms 118:18). It is also to help us to grow and bring about revival in the church (Heb. 12:10). Divine Chastening brings about restoration in order for us to continually have fellowship with God and ultimately reign with him (Is. 26:16) .It is to prepare us as vessels unto honour for God’s use (2 Tim. 3:16-17).  We must not despise God’s Chastening as dear children lest we be condemned with the world.(Prov. 3:11; 1 Cor. 11:32). 

Biblical Examples

We need to consider some characters in the Bible that endured God’s Chastening and became better for it. They include:

1. David : God chastened him for committing adultery for Bathsheba and killing Uriah her husband. (2 Samuel 11:4; 16-17; 12:19-20,18-20). 

Nebuchadnezzar – God dealth with him for ascribing the glory due God to himself. He was later restored after acknowledging God as the Almighty (Daniel 4: 29-36). 

3. Moses- Moses was chastised for not fully believing God with regards to his calling and failing to observe the token of God’s covenant with Abraham ( Ex. 4:14; 24-28; Gen. 17:11). 

4. Paul- God chastised Saul for persecuting the church , bit he was restored as a chosen vessel ( Acts 9:1-16). 

5. Jonah – For attempting to run from his responsibility towards the salvation of the city of Nineveh, God made a fish to swallow him for three days and he repented (Jonah 1:1-4; 17;2:10;3:1-2). 

CONCLUSION

If we fail to yield to God’s Chastening , the consequences can be grievous. Let us learn from the examples of Eli (1 Sam. 2:30; 3:12-13;4:17) and King Saul (1 Sam. 15:26;16:1).

LESSON OUTLINE 1: SPEAKING IN AN UNKNOWN TONGUE AND THE GIFT 

A. The ability to speak in an unknown tongue, as well as the gift of diverse kinds of tongues, is given by the Holy Spirit.

i. It is distinctive of the present Holy Spirit dispensation and it began with the outpouring of the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost. Acts 2:1-4.

ii. It is not to be bought with money or learnt.

B. However, we need to distinguish between the two. While every believer is expected to speak in an unknown tongue (Acts 19:1-6) not all may receive the gift of diverse kinds of tongues (1 Cor. 12;10).

ii. When a believer speaks in an unknown tongue, he speaks mysteries (unto God) which cannot be understood by men (1 Cor. 14;2), however, God can speak through one with the gift of diverse kinds of tongues to men with interpretations where necessary (Acts 2:4-6).

iii. Speaking in an unknown tongue is for self-edification (1 Cor. 14:4) while diverse kinds of tongues (when interpreted) edify the church or those around (Acts 2:7-10).

Lesson Outline 2: Benefits Of Speaking In Unknown Tongues 

The following are some of the benefits of speaking in unknown tongues:

1. It improves a believer’s prayer life: Supernatural ability to communicate with God effectively and intercede for others well (Romans 8:26; 1 Cor. 14:2). 
2. Self-edification: It stirs up a believer’s faith (1 Cor. 14:4; Jude 20). 
3. It is a means of yielding our tongue to God. No man can tame the tongue but God (James 3:8). By the Holy Spirit, the whole body can change, including the tongue.
4. It is a weapon of spiritual warfare (1 Cor. 14:2). 
5. It assists believers to sing, praise and give thanks to God (1 Cor. 14:15). 

CLASS ACTIVITY 2: How can speaking in an unknown tongue help believers to witness for Christ according to Acts 1:8?

SUMMARY

Speaking in an unknown tongue and in diverse tongues edify the speaker and the church respectively. 

CONCLUSION 

Speaking in an unknown tongue is a fulfilment of the promise of God and it is for all believers who would just desire it but fully tap into the benefits irrespective of their church denominations, tribe or nations.

BIBLICAL PERSPECTIVE 

A. Human rights include the right to life and liberty, freedom from slavery and torture, freedom of opinion and expression, the right to work and education, and many more.

B. Everyone is entitled to these rights without discrimination.

C. Therefore, our rights, as Christians, including the fact that: 

1. All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. They are endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood. Therefore, all people in Christ are one and equal before God regardless of race, ethnicity, wealth, social class, status and gender (Gen. 1:17, Gal. 3:26-28). 
2. Everyone, including Christians, has the right to life, liberty and security of person. As Christians, we must guard this right and be concerned about the affirmation of life, liberty and security of the oppressed so that every person may live life in its fullness (Luke 4:16-19; Gal. 5:13-19).
3. Everyone (including Christians) has the right to recognition before the law everywhere (as a person), regardless of citizenship status (Acts 22:22-27).
4. Everyone (including Christians0 is entitled in full equality to a fair and public hearing by an independent and impartial tribunal, in the determination of his rights and obligations and any criminal charge against him. Hence, every believer is entitled to a fair and just judicial process (Luke 18:2-5; Deut. 1:15-18).
5. Everyone (including Christians) has the right to freedom of movement and residence within the borders of each State. Also, everyone has the right to leave any country, including his own, and to return to his country (Gen. 12:1-3).
6. Everyone (including Christians) has the right to freedom of opinion and expression (Numbers 27:2-4).
7. Everyone (including Christians) has the right to freedom of peaceful assembly and association (Acts 2:1,44). Every aspect of civil society, including religious life, depends on these freedoms. 
8. Everyone (including Christians) has the right to vote and be voted for. Irrespective of gender, we all have the right to play active roles in our nation’s political process *Deut. 1:12-13;Acts 6:3).
9. Right to work, People (including Christians) have the right to choose their work rather than have their employment commanded. They deserve decent conditions of work, equal pay for work (thus no discrimination), a decent, living wage and the right to organise and form trade unions (1 Timothy 5:18). 
10. Right to rest and leisure: This is to protect workers’ rights (including Christians). No work day should be too long and periodic paid holidays should be available (Gen. 2:1-3).
11. Right to education: Everyone (including Christians) is entitled to at least an elementary education. parents may choose the type of school their children go to, but they do not have the right to deprive their children of education (Luke 2:46-47). 

CLASS ACTIVITY 1: Do you know your rights? Share how you have exercised them.

THE ROLE OF THE CHRISTIAN

As a Christian, you should know your rights (Acts 22:25).

Therefore: 

1. Do not allow others to infringe on your right to live fully; avoid life-claiming/threatening situations and activities.

2.  With the guidance of the Holy Spirit (1 Cor. 12:7), engage in social impact activities as a ministry, call, or hubby to help others (Is. 61:1-3). 

3. You may start or join an advocacy group to speak up for what you care about (Prov. 31:8-9). 

4. Vocalise and challenge the violation of your rights (Acts 16:35-39).

 5. Stay connected with social movements and stand up against discrimination.

6. Expose the culprit and publish your encounter if necessary.

7. Avoid jungle justice. Allow a fair hearing.

While the rate at which Bitcoins were generated was relatively fast in the early days of the technology, that rate has slowed in recent years as the number in existence has reached its built-in limit of 21 million coins. 1
As a result, both are subject to the law of supply and demand. When a product’s supply is limited and demand increases, its value rises.

Fortunately for technophobes, there are ways to invest in Bitcoin and blockchain technology without delving into the murky world of direct Bitcoin trading.

Blockchain Penny Stocks

Yes, there are cryptocurrency penny stocks. While Bitcoin is undoubtedly the most well-known digital currency, it is far from the only one. Litecoin and Altcoin are two other types of digital currency.

In recent years, several alternative digital currencies have been developed to compete with Bitcoin, while others were created specifically to fill needs that Bitcoin did not meet.

When the terms “penny stock” and “bitcoin technology” are combined, they indicate an extremely high level of risk. It would help if you never bet more pennies than you can afford to lose.

By providing startup and angel funding, you can get in on the ground floor of what could be the next Google, Apple, or blockchain frontier.

Pure blockchain technology plays are available.
Several well-known corporations, including Intel Corp. (INTC) and IBM Corp. (IBM), are investing heavily in blockchain technologies for widespread use across multiple industries. These can provide investors with a foothold in the space without putting everything on the line.

Other companies, such as Galaxy Digital Holdings (GLXY) and Silvergate Capital Corp.
(SI) is wholly committed to cryptocurrency and blockchain technology.
If you want to keep your risk level low, the best option is to invest in a stock issued by a major financial services company that is experimenting.

With the potential for blockchain technology to improve services or a technology company investing in broader blockchain applications.

For investors who can tolerate a higher level of risk, investing in pure blockchain technology investment opportunities may provide the right balance of risk versus potential return.
