I want to state categorically from the beginning that it is not all those that opened a website that actually succeeded in making such websites successful. There is no doubt that e-commerce is growing, generating leads, and providing new business opportunities. The question now is can you keep up? Yes, you can if you can implement these nine elements that I am going to talk about in this article.

Lead funnel defines the process that the buyer has to go through when they are trying to purchase your products and services. You also need to understand that your customers are also going through this process when they are purchasing your products and service, although the process might be faster for different customers, they still have to go through that process. Also, the lead funnel defines the lead funnel using the AIDA perspective. Let us now look at what that is all about in this article.

#1 Attention

#4 Action

This is when you lead customers towards taking action such as purchasing your product or fulfilling a commitment form. Here the prospect has now become or is about to become your customer. He is actually performing the desired actions that you want the customer to perform.

 

 

Marketing perspective to gain a customer

Here, the marketer has only the name of the customer. Marketers get the names of their customers from various sources such as referrals or purchase lists. Some organizations can also buy name and email lists from other non-competitive organizations that they have an association with. Some of these names can also be purchased online as well.  Above all, you need to identify your target audience based on the geographical location and demographic information of your target audience. You will not want to waste your time pursuing the wrong target.

 

 

Suspect

A Suspect is a person who shows interest in your brand or what you have to offer. They might perform some action on your site such as :

  • Frequent visits to your website and attending your webinar
  • Participating in content and promotion on your website
  • Filling online form to download white papers, PDF etc and subscribe to your newsletters.

 You need to identify such customers and add them to your Drip program which is an email program that will allow them to learn more about the use of your products and services.

The drip program offers educational content and promotional offerings that allow prospects to become organizational customers. This will allow them to develop an interest in your products and services. This also allows you to send SMS that is also geared towards understanding your customers better.

 

Prospect

Also, a user will move from being a suspect to prospect when he takes any of the following actions:

  • Interacts with your brand by attending webinars, participating in contests, and downloading your PDF files among others.
  • Fits your demographic profile.
  • He has a bi-directional conversation with you.

When it comes to prospects, we have them in two categories. They are called Marketing Qualified Leads and Sales Accepted Leads.

 

#1 Marketing Qualified Leads

They always have a direct conversation with the people via emails or phone calls. They can be seen as people who have called or emailed and have decided that they are going to purchase the product on a particular date.
You can identify whether the person is really interested and ready to purchase your product and transfer him to the sales department.

 

#2 Sales Accepted Leads

The salesperson follows the lead once the qualified lead is transferred from the marketing department to the sales department.

Opportunity

A salesperson can either close or lose the leads, Also, lost lead is again sent to recycled by conducting a drip program for the customer once again.

Customer

You gain a customer once the lead is closed. At this point, you need to maintain a good relationship with them in order to turn them from ordinary customers to brand advocates.

Advocates

Here, the customer becomes an advocate when he or she is with the marketer for a very long time. This customer becomes loyal as well as refers others to your customers.

Steps for Completion:
1. The first task is to change the screen resolution. On a Windows 8.1 device, access the Charms bar on the right side of the screen.
2. Click Settings.
3. Click Change PC Settings. You will see a screen similar to this:

something similar to the image on the right:
6. Click in the bar below the Resolution setting and drag the slider to a
different resolution.
7. Click Apply. A screen will appear asking if you want to keep the changes or

8. Click either the Keep Changes button or the Revert button. The screen
resolution will either save the new setting (if you click Keep Changes) or
return to the previous setting (if you click Revert).
9. In the PC Settings section on the left side of the screen, click Lock screen.
Note that you may have to scroll down the screen to see all of the available
lock screen settings.

10. Here, you can choose apps for which you want to show notifications on a
locked screen, choose an app to show alarms, and choose whether to use the
camera on the device when the device is locked.

11. Click on one of the smaller pictures to change the lock screen background.

12. If you have a camera setting at the bottom of the screen, click the Off
switch to change the setting to On and turn on camera use when the lock
screen is swiped down.

13. Hover your mouse over the lower-left corner of the screen. When the Start
button appears, click it. If you see the desktop, click the Start button again to show the Start screen.

14. On the Start screen, click your account name in the top-right corner of the screen and then click Lock. Your new lock screen will
appear.
15. Click the screen. The logon screen will appear.

16. Enter your password and press Enter to unlock your device.
17. To control how the mouse interacts with the corners and edges of the screen, hover your mouse over the top-left corner of the
screen. A small picture of the PC Settings will appear. Click the picture. The PC Settings screen will appear.

 

18. In the PC and devices menu, click Corners
and edges.
19. By default, the left side of the screen can
be used, through hovering the mouse over
it (or through swiping on the tablet), to
switch between apps.

20. Also, by default, the Charms bar will show
when the mouse moves to the upper-right
corner of the screen.

21. By default, Windows Store apps do not
show on the taskbar. Click the Off switch
to turn the feature on (or, if it is on, to turn
it off). Turning this on will show the icon
for PC Settings and any other open Store
apps on the taskbar, and turning it off
will hide open Store apps (including PC
Settings) from the taskbar.

22. Click the left arrow next to the words PC
and devices to return to the PC Settings
screen.

23. Hover your mouse over the lower-left
corner of the screen to display the Start
button.

24. Click the Start button.

project, you will add both types of accounts to a device.

Steps for Completion:

1. On a device running Windows 8.1, hover
your mouse to the top-right corner of the
screen. The Charms bar will appear.

2. Click the Settings button.

3. Click Change PC Settings.

4. Click Accounts. You will see your
account information on the screen.

5. On the left side of the screen, click Other.

screen similar to the screen on the right:

7. Click in the Email address text box and type an email address that belongs to a registered Microsoft account.

8. Click the Next button.

9. Click the Finish button. You should be returned to the Manage other accounts screen.
10. To add a local account to the device, click Add an account.

11. At the bottom of the How will this person sign in screen, click the Sign in without a Microsoft account (not recommended) link .

12. Click the Local account button.

MTA 98-360: Configuring the Start Menu

 

 

Description:
One of the major adjustments from moving to Windows 7 to Windows 8 was the disappearance of the Start button from the desktop.

In Windows 8.1, the Start button is back on the desktop but does not display the Start menu. Rather, it displays the Start screen. In addition, the first screen that shows after logging on to Windows 7 is the desktop. In Windows 8, the first screen is the Start screen.

 

Many users would rather see the desktop displayed upon logging into a machine and not the Start screen. This project will take you through making that change. This project will also walk you through adding the Start menu to the Windows taskbar so you can get to the Start menu at any time.

 

 

Steps for Completion:

1. Log on to a Windows 8.1 device and navigate to the Desktop.
2. To change Windows 8.1 to show the desktop instead of the Start screen when logging on to a device, right-click the taskbar at the
bottom of the screen and click Properties. The Taskbar and Navigation properties will appear.
3. Click the Navigation tab.
4. In the Start screen area, select the When I sign in or close all apps on a screen, go to the desktop instead of Start check box.
5. Click the OK button.
6. Log off from the device.
7. Log on to the device. You should now see your desktop instead of the Start screen.

8. To start the process of displaying a link from the Start menu, open File Explorer.
9. In File Explorer, click the View tab on the ribbon.
10. In the Show/hide group, select the Hidden items check box.
11. Close File Explorer.
12. Right-click the taskbar, click Toolbars, and then click New toolbar.
13. Navigate to the C: drive.
14. Double-click the ProgramData folder.
15. Double-click Microsoft.
16. Double-click Windows.
17. Click the Start Menu folder.
18. Click the Select Folder button.
19. Click the arrows on the right side of the Start Menu text and a start menu will appear, starting with a Programs folder.
20. Hover your mouse on the Programs folder.
21. Click anywhere on the desktop to hide the Start menu.
22. To remove the Start menu from the taskbar, right-click the taskbar, click Toolbars, and then click the check mark next to Start
menu. This will remove the Start menu from the taskbar.
Points to Remember:
• In Windows 8, you can control what a user sees when logging on to a device (Start screen or desktop).
• Toolbars can be added to a taskbar. For adding the Start Menu folder, hidden folders need to be set to display.

MTA 98-368: Joining a Device to a Network In Windows 8.1

 

When a device is first configured, it actually belongs to a network called a workgroup. A workgroup is a peer-to-peer network in which devices can communicate and share information with each other. Most home-based users of Windows devices will never even realizethey are on a workgroup. In this article, I will talk about joining device to a network. 

 

A more organized type of peer-to-peer network is a HomeGroup. A single device on the network will start the HomeGroup. The
initiating device, by default, will share pictures, music, video, and printers, but not documents. A device joining a HomeGroup does not
share any of its folders by default.

 

A device running Windows 8.1 Pro or Windows 8.1 Enterprise can join a domain. A domain, typically found in a business network,
is a client/server network. In a client/server network, one or more central servers control the user names, passwords, file sharing,
permissions, and other network management aspects, such as policies and settings.

In the next exercise, you will join a device to a domain. Note that in order for a device to join a domain, network discovery must be
turned on.

Steps for Completion:

1. On your device, click the Start button. The Start screen will appear.

 

2. Right-click the PC icon and click Properties.
3. In the Computer name, domain, and workgroup settings area, click Change settings.
4. Click the Change button. The Computer Name/Domain Changes dialog box will appear.
5. Select the Domain option.
6. In the Domain text box, type the name of the domain you are joining.
7. Click the OK button.

8. Enter a user name and password of an account that has
administrative permissions on the network.
9. Click the OK button. If the user name and password is correctly
entered, you will see a message similar to the image on the right:
10. Click the OK button twice.
11. Click the Close button.
12. Restart your device.
13. Upon restart, you will be able to log on to your domain, using your
user name and password for the domain.

 

Points to Remember:
• Windows 8.1 (Basic) and Windows RT devices cannot join domains.
• Know that by default, a device initiating a HomeGroup does not share out documents.
• Know that by default, a device joining an existing HomeGroup does not share out its own folders.

Introduction

 
The important thing for the disciple is that you do whatever you are asked to do. There will be times to sing. Sometimes you may be asked to look at your hands and say something. Whatever you are asked to do, do it immediately and God will bless you richly in Jesus’ name. 

 

Goals of The School of Disciples 

Ultimate Goal

To make disciples of the whole world.

Intermediate Goal

To make the whole of your country members of SOD. 

Immediate Goal

To make you become a well-trained disciple of Jesus Christ. 

 

 It is our prayer that by the time you have been in the SOD even for one year, you will know how to follow Jesus correctly, you will know who your enemy is, you will know the weapons of your warfare and then you will know how to deal with the enemy effectively. 

 

Know Yourself Part 1

The first thing you need to know about yourself is that you are important. You are a very important person. I know you will say, Who? Me? Nobody knows me. The President does not even know I exist. We are not talking about you being important to the President. We are talking about you being important to God. And if you are important to the One who will be there when all Presidents are gone, then surely you are an important person. 

 

Say aloud: 

I AM VERY IMPORTANT TO THE ALMIGHTY GOD

 

You are important to God because, without you, the work of God will slow down. If the work of God slows down, there will be some problems. For example, if you backslide today, you will delay the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. This is how important you are.

 

I will give you 10 reasons why you are important to God. 

 

Let us look at Psalm 8. (Read). 

#1 God is mindful of you. (Verse 4).

Others may not be mindful of you. You might be known in your city or not, but God is mindful of you. 

Say aloud with joy:

GOD IS MINDFUL OF ……………… (NAME)……………………….

 

#2 God visits you v4. 

God visits ….(name)….regularly. I must be important to God for Him to visit me. If the President visits you, everybody in your street will know you are important. You will feel important yourself. How often does God visit you?

 

#3 God visits you every morning Job 7:18

God comes every morning to wake you up. Any morning that God does not visit you, you are dead. 

The first thing that a disciple does when he wakes you up, is to say, “Good Morning Lord”. He has just woken you up and He is waiting for an acknowledgement to know that He is near. 

 

When you wake up as a disciple, you should say “Good morning Lord. I welcome You into my life. Come and have pre-eminence in all that I shall do today”. 

 

Acknowledge Him. Acknowledge His Presence. Show your gratitude to Him for waking you up every morning. 

 

#4 God magnifies you. Job 7:17a

The Almighty God magnifies you. You are not as bad as you think you are? If God were to write a testimony about you, you would not even believe what He would say. God magnifies you even in the presence of Satan./ Look at the testimony of God concerning Job Job 1:7-8 (Read). God said Job is a perfect man, wonderful, and nobody like him. Compare with Job 30:1. 

 

Here, Job is an arrogant man and yet God says He wants to magnify His servant. If God can magnify Job, somebody as proud as this, you can be sure if He writes your testimony, you would not believe what He would write. I am sure if He is going to write about you, He is going to tell the devil, “Have you seen……………………(Name)……………..a wonderful Man, the perfect man of God, He fears the Lord, he hates evil. There is no one like him in the whole world”. This is how God magnifies you.

 

#5 God sets his heart on you. Job 7:17

“What is man, that thou shouldest magnify him? And that thou shouldest set thine, heart, upon him? 

As unreliable as you think you are, God is still putting His trust in you. He believes that you are not going to let Him down and I believe you are not going to let Him down too.

Say aloud: 

I WILL NOT FAIL GOD

he believes that you are the one who will make disciples of the whole world. He believes you are going to be a vessel unto honour and that is exactly how it is going to be in Jesus’ name. 

 

#6 God has crowned you with Glory Ps 8:5 

“For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hath crowned him with glory and honour” 

You are a glorious person. The glory of the Almighty God is upon you, particularly once you become born again. Since you gave your life to Jesus Christ, he has crowned you with glory. 

#7 God has crowned you with His Honour. Ps. 8:5. 

For thou hast made Him a little lower than the angels, and hath crowned him with glory and honour”. 

 

#8 God gave you dominion. Ps. 8:6-8: 

“Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou has put all things under his feet; All sheep and oxen, yea, and the beasts of the field; The fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea, and whatsoever passeth through the path of the seas”. 

Everything God made is under your feet. Animals, birds, fishes etc. are under your control. 

 

9. God recognises your importance Ps. 144:3.

“Lord, what is man, that thou takest knowledge of Him! Or the son of man, that thou makest account of him!”

 

#10 God take account of you Ps. 144:3

You count to God. You are a very important personality to God.

 

GOD NEEDS YOU!

Because you count on God, He needs you. God needs you.You just wake up and realise that you are a nobody. For example

 

#1 God needs your hands. Mark 16:18

” They shall take up serpents, and if they drink anything deadly it shall not hurt them l; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. ” 

Your hands are important hands to carry the healing power of God to those who are sick. Your hands are powerful hands. They are not useless hands. Stretch your hands out before you and look at those two hands and say aloud:

 

“HANDS, MY HANDS, YOU ARE NOT USELESS HANDS. YOU ARE POWERFUL HANDS THAT WOULD BRING HEALING TO THIS GENERATION”.

 

And it shall be so in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

 

#2 ” God needs your voice”.  Mark 16: 15,17.

 

– To preach the gospel.

– To command demons to come out.

– to speak with new tongues.

 

You will be hearing more about casting our demons. This is part of what you have come to the School of Disciples to learn. You will also learn more about speaking in tongues, and how we circumvent and dodge the enemy when we want to talk to our Father. I want you to speak to your voice and say aloud:

 

” VOICE, FROM NOW ON, YOU WILL NO LONGER SAY ANYTHING USELESS. YOU WILL PREACH THE GOSPEL. YOU WILL CAST OUT DEMONS. YOU WILL SPEAK WITH NEW TONGUES. YOU WILL PRAISE GOD. MY VOICE, GOD NEEDS YOU. YOU ARE NO LONGER USELESS.

 

It shall be so in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

#4. God needs your brain

You may wonder at this and ask; My brain? maybe that can be true of lawyers, learned gentlemen or professors. My brain? Foolish brain?

 

The Bible says in 1 Cor. 1:27.

 

” But God hath chosen the foolish things of this world to confound the wise, and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty“.

 

God needs your brain to confound the world. I want you to tap your head and say aloud: 

“BRAIN, MY BRAIN, YOU ARE NO LONGER USELESS. GOD NEEDS YOU TO CONFOUND THE WISE”.

And it shall be so in Jesus’ name. Amen. 

 

#5 God needs your time. 2 Timothy 4:2. 

God wants you to spend time for Him. He wants you to do His will during your time. He does not want you to say “I am killing time”. He does not want you to waste your time anymore. At every time for the rest of your life, God wants you to be busy for him. 

 

In 2 Timothy 4:2, the Bible says:

“Preach the Word, be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long-suffering and doctrine.”

 

God says when it is convenient for you. He needs your time. When it is not convenient for you. He needs your time. He wants you to use your time for him. 

 

#6 God needs your money- 1 Cor. 16:1-3. 

“Oh, oh, my money? I am not too sure I like that.” Even in the first Century Church, God made arrangements that every Sunday, His disciples must make some collections, to put some money aside for the work of the Gospel. I can assure you that the money you spend for God, Satan cannot spend. And I can tell you, Satan will never spend my money anymore. But that is up to you. 

 

#7. God needs your total love- Deut. 6:4-5. 

He wants you to love Him, with all your heart, with all

your mind, with all your strength,

You belong to the Almighty God.

You are important to Him.

He needs you.

I want you to bow your head right now and talk to the Lord and say: 

“FATHER. I THANK YOU THAT I AM IMPORTANT TO YOU. I AM HAPPY THAT YOU NEED ME. PLEASE HELP ME SO THAT I WILL NOT FAIL YOU”.

The question is, why does God need you? God needs you because one of you will chase 1,000. But two of you according to His word can chase 10,000 of his enemies. One of you , just one disciple will chase 1,000 enemies of God, but the moment you are two, you will be able to chase 10,000. 

 

That means if there are three of you , you can deal with 100,000 of His enemies. The moment you can chase 1,000,000 of His enemies.

 

So, you can see how important you are in the army of God. As soon as He gets one additional disciple, He is Happy.

 

This is what what He says in Joshua 23:10 and Deuteronomy 32: 29-31. He talks about one of you chasing 1,000 and two of you chasing 10,000.

 

God does not need you just as a servant.or slave of God. You are a child of God. In fact, He loves you. He loves you tenderly , for several reasons . In fact, we can give you 12 reasons to show you that God loves you specially.

 

#1 He calls you son.

He doesn’t call you a slave, or a servant or a creature even though we are creatures of God.

 

The Bible says in 1 John 3:1 

” behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God; therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not”. 

 

I am a child of the Living God..

 

#2 You are.going to be like Him one day.

The Bible says, one day, we are going to be exactly like Him at His appearing.

 

In John 3:2a, the Bible says,

” Beloved, now are we the sibs of God, and it does not yet appear what we shall be, but we know that when he shall appear, we hall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is”. 

We are going to be like Him when he appears. Oh Yes, that is tremendous love. When Jesus appears, we are going to be like him. That is the Word of God based on the Authority of the Word of God that cannot change.

 

I am going to be like Jesus one day and I believe I will see you at that time.

 

#3 You are going to see God and live

 

The Bible Says, one day we are going to see God and live. Remember one time when Moses said ” God I want to see you” and God said, ” No man can see me and live”. We shall see Him as He is. ” We are going to see God Alleluia”.

 

One day we are going to see God and we ate going to live. In fact not only are we going to live, but we are also going to become like Him.

 

So God loves you, I am sure He loves me especially. He calls you son. You are going to see Him, you are going to be like Him.

Mental Health includes our emotional, physiological, and social well-being. 

 

Mental ill-health, in contrast, is a psychological disorder affecting one’s mood, thinking and behavior. The term mental illness covers a broad range of disorders from mild depression to schizophrenia- a condition that impairs a person’s ability to think, feel process and respond to life situations in an appropriate way. Mental illness can distort our view of God and others and as well contribute to sinful behavior. 

 

There are some cases of emotional issues in the Bible such as depression (1 Kings 19:1-4; John 4:3), loneliness (1 Kings 19:1)), hopelessness (1 Kings 17:9-12), suicide (Matt. 27:5), rejection (1 Sam. 18:7-8), insanity (Mark 5:1-5) etc.

 

CAUSES ND SOLUTIONS 

The teacher should identify the under-listed items as some of the factors that can lead to mental ill-health and comment briefly on them:

 i. Childhood abuse (Prov. 17:22b).

ii.  Trauma/neglect (2 Sam. 13:19).

iii. Loneliness (1 Kings 18:10).

 iv. Discrimination/oppression (James 2:6).

v.  Poverty (Proverbs 10:15).

vi. Loss of a loved one (2 Sam. 18:33).

vii. Debt (Prov. 22:7).

vii. Low self-esteem (Numbers 13:33).

viii. Heavy workload/severe stress (1 Sam. 30:4,6).

ix. Family difficulties/challenges (Gen. 34:30).

x. Spiritual forces (1 Sam. 16:14; Mark 3:1-5).

 

B. SOLUTIONS TO MENTAL ILLNESS

People should understand that failure and challenges are part of humanity and should therefore prepare for them (Ps. 24:16; Romans 8:28, James 1:2-4). 

  1. Failure and challenges are part of human life (Prov. 24:16; Romans 8:28; James 1:2-4).
  2. Investing in good social networks and godly relationships is important (2 Sam. 9:1).
  3. Loneliness and isolation are risk factors for depression and suicidal behavior should be avoided (Prov. 17:22).
  4. Good sleep helps the brain restore itself (Prov. 3:24; Jer. 31:26; Luke 8:23a). 
  5. Regular exercise expunges toxic chemicals from the body (1 Timothy 4:8). 
  6. Drug abuse (self-medication) is not an option for good health.
  7. Healthy thoughts are necessary always (Prov. 4:8).

CLASS ACTIVITY 2: The teacher should ask students to mention briefly how believers can live a peaceful, fulfilled and healthy life (Genesis 25:8; Jer. 29:11).

 

SUMMARY: God’s desire for all His children is to be healthy, boy, soul and spirit.

CONCLUSION: Good mental health is neccesary for good daily living. Therefore, take care of your health (body, soul and spirit).

Requirement documentation describes how individual requirements meet the business requirements of the project. The requirements in the requirements documentation must be unambiguous, traceable, complete, consistent, and acceptable to key stakeholders of the project.

 

Requirements Traceability Matrix…

The Requirement Traceability Matrix is a tabular document that links the project or product requirements to their origin and traces them throughout the project life cycle.

 

It links each requirement to the business and project objectives, WBS, product design and development and test scenarios.

It ensures that approved requirements in the documents are met at the end of the project.

The RTM also provides a structure for managing changes to the project or product scope.

5 Group Creativity Techniques For Projects (+Examples)

 

 

In my previous article, I looked at some of the facts that you need to know about interviews and other techniques for stakeholder identification. In this article, I want to look at some of the facts that you need to know about Group Creativity Techniques for projects. Follow me as we will look at that together in this article.

 

 

Group Creativity Techniques are group activities organised within organisations to identify project or product requirements for a project.

 

 

#1 Brainstorming

This technique is used to generate and create multiple ideas related to the project and product requirements.

 

 

#2 Nominal group techniques

This technique uses a voting process to rank the most useful ideas obtained through brainstorming. Ranking allows for further brainstorming or for prioritization.

 

#3 Delphi technique

This is a group technique that extracts and summarises anonymous group inputs to choose among various alternatives.

#4 Mind mapping

This technique consolidates ideas created through Brainstorming in a map that reflects the commonality, differences in understanding, and generation of new ideas.

 

#5 Affinity diagràm

This technique enables the sorting of a large number of ideas collected during brainstorming into distinct categories for review and analysis.

 

 

Group decision-making…

Group decision-making techniques are assessment processes that assess multiple alternatives to arrive at expected outcomes. These techniques are used to generate, classify, and prioritise project or product requirements. The outcome is the resolution of future action for the project.

 

Various methods can be adopted…

  • Unanimity: Everyone in the group agrees on a single course of action.
  • Majority: This requires support from more than 50 percent of the members of the group to indicate the selected decision.
  • Plurality: The largest batch in the group decides for the group even if the majority is not achieved.
  • Dictatorship: One individual makes the decision for the entire group.

 

Other requirements collection techniques …

#1 Questionnaires and surveys

These are written sets of questions designed to quickly accumulate information from a broad audience. It is used when statistical analysis is appropriate for collecting stakeholder requirements.

#2 Observations

A different way of viewing individuals in their work environment or while using the product to identify the project or product requirements. Also, referred to as job shadowing.

#3 Prototypes

This is a method of obtaining feedback on requirements by providing a working model of the expected product.

8 Ways Of Gathering Stakeholder Requirements (+Examples)

 

In my previous articles, I have talked about some of the facts that you need to know about customer requirements for projects. In this article, I want to talk about some of the facts that you need to know about stakeholder requirements for projects. Follow me as we are going to look at that in this article.

 

 

There are various methods to collect project or product requirements from stakeholders. Some of these means of gathering stakeholder requirements include:

  • Interviewing
  • Focus groups
  • Facilitated workshops
  • Group creativity techniques
  • Group decision-making techniques
  • Questionnaires and surveys
  • Observation
  • Prototypes

 

#1 Interviewing

Interviewing is a technique that uses one-to-one interaction to learn more about the project requirements from individual stakeholders. This is used to identify the stakeholders’ individual requirements, goals, or expectations relating to the project.

 

This method gives the opportunity to build questions and receive detailed answers while developing a good rapport with the stakeholders.

 

It aids in identifying and defining the features and functions of the desired project deliverables.

#2 Focus groups

Focus groups are trained moderator-guided interactive discussions that include stakeholders and Subject Matter Expert’s expectations and attitudes toward the proposed product, service or result of the project.

Typical example…

Consider a company that is developing an online documentation system.

 

For one of the projects, a focus group or system administration was formed to discuss their thoughts and preferences on issues, such as distributing and replicating huge documentation files across multiple servers and whether or not they needed faster access to local copies of the documentation on specific client machines.

 

Although they had the option of having usability studies to check if the administrators were able to operate the system, the project manager felt that having a focus group was more efficient in discussing the issues in a single session.

 

#2 Facilitated workshops

Facilitated workshops are group sessions that bring together key multidisciplinary or cross-functional stakeholders to define the project or product requirements for the project.

 

Facilitated workshops are important techniques to quickly decline the cross-functional requirements of the various stakeholders of the projects.

 

It helps build trust, foster relationships, reconcile differences, and improve communication among the stakeholders, thereby leading to enhanced stakeholder consensus. Because multiple perspectives are available, the issue or questions related to the requirements are resolved quickly.

Typical example…

The project sponsor, Vicky Morris, approved the project charter or Fourth Mouse Consulting’s warehouse Management Software project. The project charter lists stakeholders from various departments, such as the Process Development and Implementation department, and the training logistics.

 

It also includes key PMO staff and the Chief of the Business Trans Warehouse Management Software project.

 

Mark Anderson, decides to conduct facilitated workshops rather than holding one-to-one discussions with the key stakeholders. He invited the key product stakeholders for a ” Warehouse Management Essential Requirements” workshop.

 

Mark coordinates discussions with key stakeholders during the workshop to define the requirements of the project.

 

Discussions in the workshop highlight the differences among various stakeholder requirements. make is not only able to reconcile the stakeholder differences but also to obtain a consensus on all the project requirements.

Customer Requirements For Projects: How To Analyse End Users Expectations

 

In my previous article, I looked at all that we need to know about risk management plans for projects. In this article, I want to look at all that you need to know about customer requirements for projects. Follow me as we are going to look at that together in this article.

 

As a project manager, you have to analyse the needs of the project stakeholders clear and authentic documentation of those needs will be critical to the project’s success.

 

 

If the stakeholders are not in agreement about project expectations, timelines, and costs, they will not be satisfied with the outcome of the project.

 

By determining the needs of the stakeholders, you can obtain a consensus and prevent misunderstandings on the requirements of varied stakeholders of the project.

 

A customer requirement is a requirement that documents the customers’ needs and expectations to meet the project objectives.

Some of the requirements criteria include conformance to specific standards, quality, functional interface, data, security, and control, content, technical, training and performance support and deployment.

 

 

The requirements need to be elicited, analysed, and recorded in sufficient detail from the customers to enable measurement during project execution.

 

The collected requirements form the basis for planning the cost, schedule and quality of the project.

Typical example…

Senior Management of a large firm decided o undertake the development of an e-commerce capability on their existing website.

When interviewing the customer, the project manager received a lot of requirements that were project-specific.

 

The project manager recorded the customer requirements in sufficient detail and ranked the requirements based on priority.

Because there was an increased demand for the product, the customer wanted the product to be delivered ahead of schedule. The project manager included this requirement in the existing list of customer requirements.

 

Project and product requirements

Requirements are further categorised into project requirements and product requirements, depending on the needs of the project.

Project requirements could typically include the business, project management, and delivery requirements of the project. Product requirements could typically include the technical, security, and performance requirements of the product.

A communication management plan is a document that describes the project team’s approach to communicating information about the project.

 

It documents what information must be communicated to whom, by whom, when, and in what manner. It also documents how information is collected, archived and assessed.

 

Typical example…

A project manager in charge of presenting a company’s annual meeting with shareholders will have many stakeholders from different departments and at different levels of company management.

 

The communications management plan may include regularly scheduled status meetings with the employees assigned to the project, with meetings to be distributed to upper management.

 

It may also stipulate an email distribution list with all stakeholders and resources included in all relevant project communication.

Risk management plans…

A risk management plan is a document that describes the team’s approach to identifying risks. It identifies the methodologies, approaches and tools that will be used.

It also identifies the roles and responsibilities of those involved. It also identifies the budgeting and scheduling for risk management activities as well as the risk categories for the project.

 

Please note that the risk management plan does not address responses to risks. These are addressed in the risk response plan.

Typical example…

Entrepreneurs seeking funding from venture capitalists for a new business will present a risk management plan to their potential investors.

For a proposed amusement park, the plan will describe business risks, such as operational risks for potential loss due to employee theft and insurable risks such as liabilities for injuries sustained on the park rides.

 

Procurement management plans…

A Procurement management plan is a document that outlines the guidelines for procuring work from outside sources.

It specifies the type of contacts that will be used, describes the processes for obtaining and evaluating bids, mandates the standardised procurement documents that must be used, and explains how multiple providers will be managed.

 

The plans also state how procurement activities will be coordinated with other project management activities, such as scheduling and performance reporting.

 

Depending on the need of the project, the procurement management plan may be formal or informal, brief or detailed.

 

Typical example…

A small advertising agency will procure contracts from external sources for some of the work considered necessary but beyond its core capabilities, such as specialised printing and professional photography services.

 

The procurement management plan will outline the company’s processes for soliciting and evaluating bids from competing service providers and will specify how management will schedule contract work, schedule payments to providers for the work done and evaluate the quality.

In my previous article, I talked about all that you need to know about scope management plans for projects. In this article, I want to look at some of the facts that you need to know about cost and quality management plans for projects. Follow me as we will look at that together in this article.

 

 

Cost management plans…

A cost management plan is a document that outlines the guidelines for planning, estimating, budgeting, and controlling project costs..

It describes how risk budgets, contingencies, and management reserves will be communicated and assessed.

 

It also provides the planning and structure necessary to control project costs and keep them within budget limits. The plan can be formal or informal, detailed or brief, depending on the need of the project.

 

Typical example…

You are the project manager of a construction project and you want to develop the cost estimate a d budget for your project. You believe that setting up a base document enlisting the guidelines for cost management will help the project.

 

You tailor the existing guidelines and define the coat management plan incorporating the estimate, methods, and procedures required for calculating direct and indirect costs involved in the project. You also mention the process for calculating contingency costs.

 

Quality management plan…

A quality management plan is a document that describes a team’s approach to implementing the quality policy. It explains how quality control and quality assurance will be performed. It may be formal, or informal, depending on the project’s requirements.

 

Typical example…

A manufacturer of high end clothing may seek to reduce costs by outsourcing some of its labour. The quality management plan will articulate exactly how quality control and assurance will be performed, to ensure that the new source of labour can meet the company’s high standards.

 

The plan will also identify who will be responsible for quality control: how, when,  and to what degree they will conduct inspections for quality; and how the team will respond to any quality issue that arises.
