Newbies Business Affiliate Guide: How to Make Your First Sale

Affiliate marketing can seem like an impossible goal to reach, and it might even be one that you’ve been neglecting because it feels so out of reach. However, affiliate marketing shouldn’t intimidate you — and if you follow the advice in this article, you’ll be on your way to making your first affiliate sale within the week! Here’s how to make your first affiliate sale in different easy steps.

#1 Learn How The System Works

Affiliate marketing is a great way for beginners to learn the ropes of online business without having to risk any money of their own.

With affiliate marketing, you earn commissions on the sale of products you refer customers to, and all you need is an account with a respected affiliate network like Amazon Associates or Shareasale.

#2 Identify Your Niche

There are many niches in the world of affiliate marketing and they all have their pros and cons. For newbies, it’s best to start with a niche that you’re already familiar with, or one that is easy for you. This way, you’ll have more confidence in your ability to get results from the beginning.

Once you become more experienced, you can explore other niches as well. If your goal is simply for the money, then there are many options for high paying affiliate programs as well.

Join The Right Platforms

There are several platforms for you to join when looking for affiliates. Amazon and eBay are two of the most popular, but there are others as well.

The best thing about these platforms is that they have a built-in customer base, which means that you can get your first sale without having to do much marketing on your part.

#3 Build Your Audience

Engaging and growing an audience is critical for any business, but doing so in the early days of a startup is even more important. The more followers you have, the greater potential for sales.
With that in mind, here are some tips for building your following:
– Create a Social Media Strategy
– Create Engaging Content
– Build a Community Around Your Brand

#4 Create Offers And Products

You’ll want to offer as many different products and services as possible. This way, when someone is interested in one of your offers, they will be able to find it on your site.

Offer a variety of both digital and physical items that people can purchase with just a few clicks. You should also create a membership site where your customers can join for $19.99 per month, or whatever price you choose to charge.

They’ll have access to the information and resources you provide them, but more importantly, they’re paying you every single month!

If at any point during the first two months, they decide that your advice isn’t worth the monthly fee and cancel their membership, not only did they not gain anything from reading all of this information but now YOU’VE LOST A MONTHLY PAYMENT!
This strategy can give you an additional passive income stream without having to do any additional work.

#5 Promote Your Products and Offers in Blogs

If you want to make your first sale, you’ll need to let people know about it. You can do this by writing a blog post with a link back to your product or offer on it and sharing it on social media. You’ll also want to go through the list of businesses that are willing to pay bloggers and work up a pitch for them.

Many companies have requirements as to what kind of content they’re looking for. Once you’ve submitted your proposal and accepted an assignment, send them a quick email asking if there’s anything specific they would like from you in addition to what’s listed in the proposal.

#6 Spend Time Building Relationships with influencers in your industry

In order to make your first sale, you need to build relationships with influencers in your industry. This can be as simple as leaving comments on their blog posts or answering a quick email request. If you’re shy, try starting with commenting on blogs that are targeted towards beginners like this one!

A good way to start is by finding out who the top 20 influencers are in your industry and following them on social media. You should also keep an eye out for opportunities to connect – check their Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn pages for contact information.

The best part about building relationships with influencers is that it’s a two-way thing: they want to hear from people just like you!

BIBLE PASSAGE: Romans 12:17-21 KJV
17 Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men.
18 If it is possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.
19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.

Perilous Times. RCCG Sunday School Teachers.

Topic: Perilous Times
Opening Prayer: Father, save your children from the perilous times. Redeem all your children who become victims of the perilous times in Jesus’ name.
Previous Knowledge: “This known also, that in the last days, perilous time shall come”.- 2 Timothy 3:1.

Lesson Introduction
The translated word for “perilous” in 2 Timothy 3:1 is “chapelos”, which means troublesome, dangerous, harsh, fierce, full of risk, hazardous, harmful, dreadful, and threatening.

The term “last days”, refers to the period between Christ’s ascension into Heaven and His second coming. “Perilous times’ constitute part of the last days.

“The last days” is, not just a prophesy, it started from the days of the Bible (Heb. 1:2; 1 John 2: 18-19). The importance of prophecy and warning against the perilous times cannot be overemphasized because we are living in the fulfilment of the perilous times. The purpose of this study is to carefully consider the writing of Paul to Timothy in 2 Timothy 3:15 on the things that characterize the ‘Perilous Times’ and the position every believer in Christ could take.

Teacher’s Diary
Lesson Aim: To study the nature of the perilous times and the cautions to believers.
Teaching Objective: Through the lesson, students should be able to:

  1. Understand the characteristics of the perilous times.
  2. Discover necessary precautionary steps which believers can take during perilous times.

Teaching Plan
To achieve the above-stated, the teacher should:

  • Enumerate the characteristics of the perilous times.
  • Encourage the students to take caution using the word of God as Guide.
  • Summarise, conclude, evaluate and give assignments to students.
  • Allow the assistant teacher to review the previous week’s lesson, conduct the class, mark the assignment and take the closing prayer.

There Is No Purgatory. RCCG Sunday School Teachers.

Opening Prayer: Father, help me to live my life for you. Let me reign with you after death.
Previous Knowledge: The Teacher should allow students to recall what constitutes the nature of those precautions that believers should take.

Today’s Lesson

Bible Passage: 2 Cor. 5:6-8
Memory Verse: And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment. Hebrews 9:27
Lesson Introduction
Some church denominations believe that all who die in God’s grace and friendship but are still imperfectly purified are indeed assured of their eternal salvation but will undergo the process of purification which they call purgatory, so as to achieve the holiness necessary to enter the joy of salvation. According to them, Purgatory is also a place of the condition of temporal punishment for those who, departing this life in God’s grace, are not entirely free from forgivable faults, or have not fully paid the price due to their transgressions. Is this doctrine of Purgatory in agreement with the Bible? Absolutely not.

Teacher’s Diary
To study the biblical position of the concept of purgatory.

Teaching Objectives
Through this lesson, students should be able to:

  1. Understand the biblical position on purgatory.
  2. Debunk the wrong concept of purgatory.

Teaching Plan

To achieve the above-stated objective, teachers should:

  • A teacher should also debunk the concept with appropriate scriptural supports as presented in today’s lesson.
  • Summarise, conclude, evaluate and give assignments.
  • Allow the assistant teacher to conduct the class, take the closing prayer and mark the assignment.

Text Review

The scripture does not have support for purgatory in any sense. The true position of the scripture is to either be in the body or to be with the Lord. There is no vacuum or gap. 2 Cor. 5:6, 8. A look at the memory verse indicates that there is no vacuum after death. Heb. 9:27.

Teaching Method: Lecture teaching method.
Time Management: Two lessons outlines time allocation.

Lesson Outlines

  1. WHAT DOES THE BIBLE SAY ABOUT PURGATORY?

The biblical passages wrongly referred to as the basis for purgatory are:

  1. 1 Cor. 3:15; 1 Peter 1:17. These scriptures clearly speak about works that shall stand the test of fire and be rewarded and those that shall not be able to stand.
  2. 1 Cor. 3:11-15. This scripture supports believers in Christ who make it to Heaven and would be rewarded according to the value of their works.
  • The bible mentioned in Heb.9:17 that after death comes the judgment. Therefore, the ‘purifying fire’ is referred to as the judgment seat of Christ where work will be judged. 2 Cor. 5:10.
  1. The “fire” in this context is symbolic of the motive or objectives behind every work of believers.
  2. The sinners will go straight to hell. Ps. 9:17. The wicked shall be turned to hell. That is the destination of sinners who refused to repent while alive.
  3. In the expression “It shall not be forgiven him in this world, neither in the world to come”, the expression “in the world to come” means among the Jew that, “it will never be done”.
  • God’s wrath shall overtake sinners who refuse to genuinely repent their sins before death. Ps. 9:17, Matt. 13: 49-50.

Class Activity 1
Why do you think that anyone would wish to repent after death?

Lesson Outline 2: Debunking The Wrong Concept

  1. Purgatory like many other heretic beliefs is based on a misunderstanding of the nature of Christ’s sacrifice and of the scripture.
  2. Jesus’ sacrifice for sinners is a once and for all sacrifice. The sacrifice was perfect and absolute. Heb. 7:27.
  • Those who believe in purgatory fail to believe that the work of salvation needs no additional contribution to what Christ has done. Eph. 2: 8-9
  1. They fail to understand that there is no need for another cleansing in addition to the one Christ has done with his blood. 1 John 1: 7-9.
  2. They fail to believe that praying for the dead for the forgiveness of their sins is baseless because Jesus by his death, has paid the penalty for all our sins. John 1:1,14
  3. Jesus died for our sins and paid the price once and for all. 1 Cor. 15:3.
  • Jesus atoned for our sins, therefore, there is no need for any purgatory again. 1 John 2:2, Romans 5:8, Is. 53:5.
  • The belief that man would not suffer for his sin after death has no basis in the Bible. It is also contrary to the true biblical teaching on salvation.

Class Activity 2

Identify any other wrong teaching which is contradictory to the bible.

Summary: There is no purgatory for cleansing of sin after death.
Conclusion: There is no basis for purgatory in the bible. Therefore, make your way right before you die.
Evaluation: Why is purgatory heretic?
Closing Prayer: Father, set free all your children who have fallen victim to heretic doctrines.
Assignment: Find five reasons why people believe false and heretic teachings.

Lesson Introduction
The event is usually referred to as “the end of the world” (eschaton) in 2 Peter 3:10. This is the culmination of a series of events called “the day of the Lord”. The Bible has a lot to say about the end times. Nearly every book of the Bible contains prophesy regarding the end times. Taking all these prophesies and organizing them can be difficult. The New Heaven And The New Earth.

The New Heaven And The New Earth.

Memory Verse: “But the Day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up”. – 2 Peter 3:10.
Bible Passage: Rev. 21:1-5

Lesson Introduction

In Noah’s day, the world was destroyed with water, but God promised that He would not destroy the world with a flood (Gen. 9:11). The end of the world is described in 2 Peter 3:10 as the day of the Lord will occur after the final judgment by God (Rev. 20:7-10). This scripture reveals that the universe will be destroyed by fire. Therefore, believers should bear in mind that this present world will not last forever.

OUTLINES

The Passing Away of the New Heavens and the New Earth (Is. 34:4; 51:6) This refers to the physical heaven and earth- the material world and all it contains – but not to the inhabitants of heaven and earth. To “pass away” is to disappear or be no more.

The “heavens” in 2 Peter 3:10 refers to the physical universe- the stars, planets, and galaxies- which will be consumed by some kind of tremendous explosion, possibly a nuclear or atomic reaction that will consume and wipe out all the matter as we know it. All elements that make up the universe will be melted in the “fervent heat” (2 Peter 3:12). This will also be a noisy event, described in different Bible versions as a “roar” (NIV), “a great noise” (KJV), a “loud noise” (CEV), and a “thunderous crash” (AMP). There will be no doubt as to what is happening. Everyone will see and hear it because we are also told that “the earth and everything in it will be laid bare”.

EMERGENCE OF THE NEW HEAVEN AND THE NEW EARTH

In Rev. 21:1, John writes of a new heaven and a new earth in the eternal state, having seen that “the first heaven and the first earth had passed away” (Is. 65:17; 2 Peter 3:13)). God will create a “new “heaven and a new earth” (Rev. 21:1), which will include the “New Jerusalem” (Rev. 21:2), the capital city of heaven, a place of perfect holiness, which will come down from heaven to the new earth. This is the city where the saints- those whose names were written in the “Lamb’s Book of Life” (Rev. 13:8) will live forever. Peter refers to this new creation as “the home of righteousness” (2 Peter 3:13).

Knowing that heaven and earth will pass away give us perspective in life. This world is not our home. “We are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, where righteousness dwells” 2 Peter 3:13). Jesus tells us to have the proper priorities (Matt. 6: 19-20). Also, Peter after reminding us of the temporary nature of this world, says, after reminding us of the temporary nature of this world, says “Wherefore, beloved, seen that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless” (2 Peter 3:14).

CONCLUSION

Believers should remain faithful to the end because there is the hope of eternal life with God beyond this present world.

Opening

Bible Passage: Psalm 67: 3-7.
Memory Verse: “I will praise thee, O LORD, with my whole heart; I will show forth all thy marvellous works”. Psalm 9:1.
Lesson Introduction
In our day-to-day dealing with ourselves, thanksgiving and praises are considered very important especially when we receive any help from anyone. This show of appreciation usually acts as an impetus to receiving assistance or gifts in the future.

We as Christians should know that God who is your father loves us even more than our earthly father does. The only thing we can do in order to show our appreciation is by praising him no matter the circumstances that come our way.  We must cultivate the habit of praising God and thanking Him all the days of our lives. The first principle a Christian should learn, should be how to develop the habit of praising God. (Psalm 105:1-3).

Teacher’s Diary

Lesson Aim: To discover the importance of praise and how to praise God acceptably.
Teaching Objectives: Through this lesson, students should be able to:

The Teacher should fill in the gaps from the passage during their preview exercise.

Teaching Method: Questions and Answers Teaching method.
Time Management: The Teacher should apply a two-lesson outline teaching time.

Lesson Outlines

Question 1: Why should we praise God?
Answer: The teacher should highlight the reason believers should praise God as follows:

  1. If we want our lives to be full of miracles and wonders, it is necessary for us to know that the formula is in praising God.
  2. The attributes of God are sufficient reasons for us to praise Him.
  3. That is one reason the angels praise God continually. (Is. 6:3).
  4. God’s holiness is linked with His Glory. He is glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders (Ex. 15:11).
  5. When we praise God, we have victories over our enemies.
  6. When we praise God for His goodness and His wonderful works (Ps. 107:8). If we praise God, He will take note and this will gladden His heart (Ps. 22:3).
  7. God is righteous and His righteousness demands that we should praise Him.
  8. God is a jealous God and His jealousy demands that we must show His sovereignty over all things by praising Him. (Ex. 34:14). He is the only One and demands for Himself alone worship and praises to which He has a right. (Ex. 20:3-4).
  9. Praise is an acceptable sacrifice before God. (Heb. 13:15).

Class Activity: Students should mention the importance of praising God.

Lesson Outline 2: Acceptable Praise

Question: What does it take to offer acceptable praise to God?
Note: The teacher should first allow the students to answer the question in their own words.
Answers

  1. Even though God is universal for all mankind, He accepts praise from those who draw near to Him in holiness and repentance. (James 4:8; Psalm 24:3-5).
  2. To offer an acceptable sacrifice to God, it is necessary to be a child of God. We must confess our sins to God and repent from them (1 Jn 1:8-10; 2 Cor. 5:17). It is after this that your sacrifice of praise can be acceptable to God.

Class Activity
Students should discuss things that make up unacceptable praise.
Summary
It is not enough to Praise God; we must ensure that our praise is acceptable to Him.

Conclusion
Praising God is the only thing we can do for Him. It is an inevitable aspect of worshipping God.

Evaluation

Why should we praise God?
Closing Prayer
Father, let me always offer acceptable praise to you in Jesus’ name.

Lust is not only a sexual nature (Matt. 5:26).

i. Greed is lust for money or power (Prov. 15:27; 1 Tim. 6:10-12).

ii. Envy us lust for the status or position someone else holds (Prov. 23:27).

iii. Covetousness is lust for anything we do not have (Ex. 20:17).

It is important to note the following facts about Lust:

I. Lust starts with a thought (Prov. 30:32).

ii. While we are not responsible for every thought that enters our heads, we are responsible for what we do with those thoughts (Ex. 38:10, Prov. 24:9).

iii. A lustful thought must be seen as an enemy and dealt with before it takes over our lives (James 1: 14-15).

iv. The desire grows until it creates dissatisfaction with our current situation and imposes upon us the belief that happiness and contentment are impossible unless we have what we want (1 Tim. 6:6).

The scripture admonishes youths to flee from all dimensions of lust (2 Timothy 2:22; 1 Cor. 6:18).

Ungodly actions result from lustful thoughts, so it is important that we get rid of such thoughts as soon as they arrive.

CLASS ACTIVITY 1: Students should mention things that trigger lustful thoughts.

LESSON OUTLINE 2: GET RID OF LUSTFUL THOUGHTS

To get rid of lustful thought, we must:

  1. Define your areas of weakness and greatest temptation.
  2. Consciously replace lustful thoughts with thoughts that are true, honourable, right, pure, lovely, adorable, excellent and worthy of praise (Phil. 4:8).
  3. Take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ (2 Cor. 10:5).
  4. Repent of entertaining lustful thoughts and asking for Lord’s help in redirecting our thoughts (Ps. 19:14).

If the lustful thoughts we are trying to get rid of involving another person:

I. We can defuse their power by turning those thoughts into prayers for the other person’s well-being.

ii. By bringing that person before the Lord, we weaken lust’s power to objectify them (Matt26:41).

iii. When we bring our will into an agreement with God’s will, we learn to see this person as He does, not as lust does.

Stopping lustful thought also requires:

I. Filtering the information we are allowing into our minds through our senses (Prov. 4:23).

ii. Asking the Lord to remove those pornographic images burned into our minds over time (Ps. 51: 7,10).

iii. Refusing to look at things that incite lust, filtering out music or language that creates lustful thoughts, and banishing lustful memories from our catalogue, we can starve lustful thoughts until they have little to work with (2 Timothy 2:21).

D. Memorising and meditating on Scripture is also a good way to avoid lustful thoughts and renew our minds (Col. 2:16; Romans 12:1-2, Ps. 119:9, 11, 105).

E. Keep worship music playing in our ears also focuses our mind on that which is good, pure and beautiful.

F. As we daily surrender ourselves to the Lordship of Christ, he helps transform a sinful thought into one that pursues him.

G. Taking authority over lustful thoughts, rejecting them before they take root, and seeking God’s help to give us victory.

H. We must resist the lust for things beyond what God has already given us (Num. 11:4-6) and the lusts of the devil (John 8:44). These include the lust for power, glory and prestige at all costs (Is. 14:13-14).

I. You should rather long for righteousness (2 Tim. 2:22), avoid fake lives and lies ( Ex. 23:1), or being dishonest (Deut. 25: 14-16).

SUMMARY: Students should mention what they can do to avoid falling into lustful traps.

CONCLUSION: Do not give room for lust to thrive in your life.

EVALUATION: Teachers should ask students to mention some dimensions of lust.

ClOSING PRAYER: Father, please give me the grace to overcome youthful lust in all its ramification.

ASSIGNMENT: Students should write five (5) areas of lust they are battling with and pray to God for victory over them (No mark).

BIBLE PASSAGE: GENESIS 33:1-11

[1] And Jacob lifted up his eyes, and looked, and, behold, Esau came, and with him four hundred men. And he divided the children unto Leah, and unto Rachel, and unto the two handmaids.

[2] And he put the handmaids and their children foremost, and Leah and her children after, and Rachel and Joseph hindermost.

[3] And he passed over before them and bowed himself to the ground seven times until he came near to his brother.

[4] And Esau ran to meet him, and embraced him, and fell on his neck, and kissed him: and they wept.

[5] And he lifted up his eyes, and saw the women and the children; and said, Who are those with thee? And he said The children which God hath graciously given thy servant.

[6]Then the handmaidens came near, they and their children, and they bowed themselves.

[7]And Leah also with her children came near and bowed themselves: and after came Joseph near and Rachel, and they bowed themselves.

[8] And he said, What meanest thou by all this drove which I met? And he said These are to find grace in the sight of my lord.

[9] And Esau said, I have enough, my brother; keep that thou hast unto thyself.

[10] And Jacob said, Nay, I pray thee, if now I have found grace in thy sight, then receive my present at my hand: for therefore I have seen thy face, as though I had seen the face of God, and thou wast pleased with me.

[11] Take, I pray thee, my blessing that is brought to thee; because God hath dealt graciously with me, and because I have enough. And he urged him, and he took it.

MEMORY VERSE: “He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?” Micah 6:8.

INTRODUCTION

Simply put, restitution is the act of making right the wrong done against someone or an institution. God is a just God and He expects justice from everyone (Mic.6:8; Jer. 22:3). This is such a universal law of human relationships that even the world’s courts know that it is just and right to require that corrections be made for wrong actions of the past.

LESSON INTRODUCTION: Personal evangelism is the act of a person sharing the gospel with another. While there are many different methods of evangelism and means of helping others find salvation through faith in Jesus Christ, personal evangelism has been found to be very effective. Personal evangelism is the responsibility of every believer. God calls each of us to different tasks and endows us with different gifts, but the goal is the same-the salvation of the lost (1Cor.12:6-7; Lk.19:10). He places us in strategic positions for influence, not a privilege. We have neighbours, co-workers, friends, and relatives who need to hear the good news about Jesus. Like Apostle Paul, believers should not be ashamed of sharing their faith with others (Romans 1:16).

TEXT REVIEW:
i. The message of the great commission is “Preach the Gospel” to every human being. This same applies to personal evangelism.

ii. What are the benefits of accepting and danger of rejecting the gospel?

LESSON OUTLINES:

  1. THE PREPARATION PHASE
  2. CREATIVITY IS KEY

1. THE PREPARATION PHASE
A. The person who wants to embark on result-oriented personal evangelism must prepare in the following five ways:

i. Preparation through prayers.
ii. Preparation through righteous lifestyle.
iii. Preparation through the knowledge of the word of God.
iv. Preparation through life application.
v. Preparation through the right attitude.

B. Why are these preparation phases essential?
I. Preparation through consistent and meaningful prayer life is essential because:
i. Prayer enables the preacher to be filled with the Holy Spirit. (Acts 4:31).

ii. The Holy Spirit brings conviction and repentance. (2 Tim.2:25).
iii. The Holy Spirit reveals Jesus to the sinners. (Jn.3:16).
iv. The Holy Spirit releases the right word to the audience. (Col.4:6).
v. Through prayer, God will open the hearts and eyes of the sinners to receive and see Christ. (2 Cor. 4:4).
vi. Prayer equips the evangelist with courage and boldness to preach the gospel. (Acts 4:29).

II. Preparation through righteous lifestyle: Righteous lifestyle is a divine qualification to embark on personal evangelism after salvation. (1 Pet.3:15).
III. Preparation through Biblical knowledge: Being well-grounded in the word of God enables the preacher to rightly select and refer to the appropriate Bible verses for the situation or condition of the audience. (2 Tim.2:15).
IV. Preparation through life application of your salvation experience and testimony: Sharing the experience of what Jesus has done in your life to save you can encourage your audience to believe Jesus and be saved. (Phil.3:4-6; 1Cor.15:9; Jn.9:25).
V. Preparation through right attitude: Sharing the gospel with love and respect for your audience will attract them to the Lord Jesus Christ. (1 Cor.13:1-3, Mark 12:30, Matt. 7:3-5).

CLASS ACTIVITY 1: What are the dangers of embarking on personal evangelism without adequate preparations?

2. CREATIVITY IS KEY

i. Share the gospel as God gives you the skill and the abilities not necessarily the same way as other people. (1Cor.12:12-26, Eph. 4:11-16).
ii. Maximise every opportunity you have to share the gospel of Jesus with other people. (2Tim. 4:2).
iii. Give support to all works of evangelism- be it personal or mass evangelism. (Phil. 4:9).
iv. You can write tracts, compose songs, produce graphic design, and so on to support- the soul-winning mandate. (1Cor.3:5-9).

CLASS ACTIVITY 2:
Identify other creative means of delivering the gospel message to the sinners.

SUMMARY: “Preparations” and “creativity” are essential tools of personal evangelism.

CONCLUSION: As long as we have breath, we can do personal evangelism. As long as we stay surrendered to the Holy Spirit, He will do it through us (Lk.12:12; Jn.9:4).

EVALUATION:
i. What are the preparatory phases of personal evangelism?

ii. What is creativity in personal evangelism?

CLOSING PRAYER: Father, please let spiritual barrenness cease from among God’s people in Jesus’ name.

ASSIGNMENT: Identify five (5) consequences of lack of preparation and creativity in personal evangelism. (2X5=10 Marks).

LESSON INTRODUCTION: As of January 2020, the total world population stood at 7.75 billion, smart mobile phone users are about 5.19 billion, internet users 4.54 billion and active social media users 3.80 billion. Statistics also show that every minute, about 1 million people log onto Facebook, 3.8 million searches are made on Google, 4.5 million videos are viewed on YouTube and 347 thousand users scroll on Instagram.

The Bible is clear that anyone who has a personal encounter with Jesus is called to be His witness (Mk.16:14-15, Acts 1:8). With the emergence of new digital technologies and internet/social media platforms, digital evangelism is an effective means of reaching the world with the Gospel.

TEXT REVIEW: As member of the body of Christ, the above-stated Bible passages places five demand on believers. What are they?
i. —————————————————————–
ii. —————————————————————
iii. —————————————————————
iv. —————————————————————
v. —————————————————————

LESSON OUTLINES:

  1. BIBLICAL VIEW OF DIGITAL EVANGELISM
  2. OPTIMISING THE DIGITAL WORLD FOR EVANGELISM AND DISCIPLESHIP

1. BIBLICAL VIEW OF DIGITAL EVANGELISM
Question: What is digital evangelism?

i. It is the strategic and deliberate use of internet and social media platforms to preach the gospel.
ii. Students should mention some communication gadgets available to evangelize for Christ.
iii. The Bible described various means adopted by the Lord Jesus Christ and the Apostle to reach their audience. Identify them in the following Bible passages. (Luke 5:1-3; Matt.5:1-2).

iv. Apostle Paul used his hand writing (a form of text message) to write the Colossians. (Col.4:18).

CLASS ACTIVITY 1:
A. Activity: Students should identify those who used text messages in the Bible.

B. Activity: Students should mention three strategies Apostle Paul adopted or three conditions he subjected himself to win others for Christ according to 1Corinthians 9:21-23.
C. Activity: To conclude this outline, teachers should emphasise the need for students to plan and use all available communication devices at their disposal to win souls to Christ in fulfilment of the divine mandate in Matthew 28:19-20.

2. OPTIMISING THE DIGITAL WORLD FOR EVANGELISM AND DISCIPLESHIP
i. Hostile communities can be reached through social media sites and platforms.

ii. Old friends can be reconnected through media groups e.g. WhatsApp groups and broadcasts.
iii. The whole world can be reached through creative visual content. We can all be content creators and publishers.
iv. Online Sunday Services, revival, programs, teaching and seminars are now in vogue. They are veritable means of preaching the gospel to the near and far.

CLASS ACTIVITY 2: The teacher should group the class into four and distribute any of the four points raised above to each group for brief comments or discussion.

SUMMARY: Digital evangelism is cost-efficient and effective.

CONCLUSION: Digital evangelism should be incorporated with traditional forms of evangelism. It does not replace traditional methods such as one-on-one, mass, tracts evangelism, etc. (Matt.28:19-20).

EVALUATION: How can the present global digital technologies be optimised for the sake of the gospel.

CLOSING PRAYER: Almighty Father, please open the eyes of Your children to make use of available technological opportunities to reach out for Christ in Jesus’ name.

ii. Corporate engagement: Social media can help improve an individual’s sense of reasoning with real or online communities and be entrepreneurs, profits and non-profit making organisations, advocacy groups, political parties, government sectors, etc.

iii. Building of relationships: Families, friends, associates etc. can easily connect and reconnect for meaningful relationships (Prov. 18:24).

iv. Social Media Influencers: These are social users who have established credibility and audience, who can persuade others by virtue of their trust-0worthiness and authenticity. You can become a great Influencer for God through social media (1 Timothy 4:12; 2 Timothy 2:1-2; Titus 2:7). Souls can be won and discipled through you as you showcase Christ and the kingdom’s virtues to the world.

v. Ease of doing business: Products and services can be advertised or marketed in real-time. It gives the opportunity to create a sales funnel whereby a new contact becomes a potential/serious customer (Proverbs 22:29).

Some of the negative impacts are:

I. Uncontrolled/untamed posts (pictures, videos, captions etc)- Proverbs 18:2; Col. 4:6. The consequence of any statements, both now and in the future, should be considered. It should be assumed that everything written or said is permanent and viewable by everyone (Prov. 21:23).

ii. Treating the Bible as irrelevant or archaic in relation to modern trends and techniques. Spreading of heretical teachings and half-truths.

iii. Playing down the God-factor as a social media influencer for the sake of retaining followers from all walks of life (Romans 1:28).

iv. Self-Isolation. Avoid physical meetings or interactions while using social media as a disguise to engage in some unethical activities/behaviour.

v. Social media addictions (Galatian 5:1): Limiting the amount of time( except for business purposes) we devote to these social networking sites is both healthy and wise.

vi. Attention deficiency syndrome i.e inability to concentrate on a task or programme for a specific period without diverting to social media.

vii. Physical disconnection among close relatives. Family members living together can even become familiar strangers.

viii. Vanity metrics. Relying on the response from others through likes, and comments to your posts in judging your self-worth or importance.

ix. Activities of scammers and fraudsters.

x. Narcissism. Excessive self-love or self-importance emerges when we rely on social media sites primarily to promote ourselves or draw attention to ourselves.

CLASS ACTIVITY 2: Students should recall how social media has been helpful or harmful to them.

SUMMARY: Social media is a great tool for both self-development and propagation of the gospel of Jesus Christ. However, caution should be taken to avoid addiction.

CONCLUSION: Be disciplined in the use of social media. It is also wise to have accountability partners; encourage your spouse, family members and Christian brothers/sisters to view your social networking activity and hold you accountable (Prov. 27:17).

EVALUATION: Mention some of the advantages and disadvantages of social media.

CLOSING PRAYER: Father, please help me to influence people into the kingdom through the use of social media.

Bridging Marital Gaps. RCCG Sunday School Teachers.

Opening Prayer: Almighty Father, we pray that every family will continuously drive away from the devil from their family through the guidance of Your words and the Holy Spirit.

Previous Knowledge: The Teacher should allow students to recall what they learned from the previous week’s lesson.

Memory Verse: “Neither gives place to the devil”- Eph 4:27.

Bible Passage: 1 Cor. 7:1-40.

Introduction

God is the author of marriage (Gen.2:24). He designed it to bring glory to His name and also for man to enjoy. However, many marriages today are not conforming to the will of God. Rather than bringing pleasure, many marriages are full of pains and tales of woes because of human choices made contrary to biblical blueprints. In this lesson, we shall unravel some of the gaps prevalent in some marriages leading to unfaithfulness among couples.

LESSON OUTLINE 1: FORMS OF MARITAL GAPS

I. Teacher should ask students to mention those factors which could bring gap between husband and wife.

ii. Teacher should explain the points in Outline 1 stated below:

A. Location Gaps: Long period of absence, whether for work or serving in the military, greatly reduces the opportunities couples have to properly bond. Examples are the Photiphars (Genesis 39: 5-7) and the Uriahs (2 Samuel 11). Long-distance marriage is not ideal.

B. Emotional Gaps: The feeling of insecurity and loneliness, whether emotional, physical or sexual, can create a gap between couples. The search for excitement to escape boredom and experiment with new things like adopting new hobbies or hanging out with new friends can affect relationships between spouses.

C. Poor boundaries: Poor personal boundaries, or the limits we place on other people as to what we find acceptable or unacceptable, can result in a marital gap.

D. Revenge: The desire to pay back the wrongdoing of a partner in the “same coin” can result in a marital gap.

E. Sexual Gaps: Many partners in a marital relationship are not enjoying sex or getting satisfaction sexually. They are only enduring and coping because their spouses are not sensitive to their sexual needs. Regardless of gender, having an uninteresting sex life could put your relationship at risk of infidelity.

F. Financial Gaps: When the financial orientation of the couple differs and both parties fail to reach a compromise as to how money should be managed, there are bound to be conflicts which may negatively affect our union.

G. Physical/physiological gaps: There are also situations where a couple does not pay attention to each other or does not live like a normal couple, go out together or have a passionate relationship. Eventually, one or both of them look outside their relationship for someone whom they want to be with. (Mal. 2:14-16).

H. Communication Gaps: Communication is one of the most fundamental components of a successful relationship. If you cannot talk to your spouse and listen to what he or she has to say, you will have a hard time making it through the difficult hurdles in your marriage. Not being able to share secrets, stories and feeling with their spouses can lead some people to open up to others emotionally.

I. Excessive Use of The Internet and Social Media: Connecting with other people and talking or chatting with them for hours at length at home, work or even in some public places at the expense of your spouse can extend the gap in your relationship.

CLASS ACTIVITY 1: Can you say the marital gap is increasing or decreasing in our societies?

LESSON OUTLINE 2: SOME PRACTICAL WAYS TO BRIDGE THE GAPS

You can take your relationship to the next level by practically taking some steps to bridge the gaps:

I. Teachers should allow/encourage students who had experienced marital gaps before to share their experiences on how they were able to bridge the gap> They could also narrate their bitter plight during those periods.

ii. Teacher should explain the [points as stated in Lesson Outline 2 below:

  1. Avoid living separately in the name of a job offer or searching for ‘greener pasture”.
  2. Understand your spouse’s love languages i.e ask and do things that make them want to be with you the more e.g holding hands.
  3. Go together on Dates; visit other families, friends and colleagues together.
  4. Commend the good things your spouse does.
  5. Condemn what is bad in love (not the person but the act)  and apologise correctly. Give no room to the devil (Eph. 4;27).
  6. Handle matters discreetly and immediately.
  7. Celebrate each other, exchange gifts regularly and create a conducive atmosphere for God’s presence in your homes (Ps. 133:1).

CLASS ACTIVITY 2: What role does communication play in marital gaps?

SUMMARY: Avoid marital gaps.

CONCLUSION: MArriages succeed on intentional effort and purposeful choices made by the partners to make it heaven on earth.

EVALUATION: What are the causes and remedies to martial gaps?
CLOSING PRAYER: Almighty Father, please send your wisdom to couples on how to bridge all manners of marital gaps in Jesus’ name.

ASSIGNMENT: Identify any five (5) reasons marital bonds should be embraced or why marital gaps should be avoided. (2X5=10 Marks).

Divorce And Remarriage. RCCG Teachers Manual 2/05/2021

OPENING PRAYER: Father, help all your children who are married to keep their spouses to the end. Deliver our marriage institutions from collapse.

MEMORY VERSE: “For the LORD, the God of Israel, saith that he hateth putting away: for one covereth violence with his garment, saith the LORD of hosts: therefore take heed to your spirit, that ye deal not treacherously.” – Malachi 2:16

BIBLE PASSAGE: Matthew 19:3-12 KJV

3 The Pharisees also came unto him, tempting him, and saying unto him, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife for every cause?
4 And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female,
5 And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh?
6 Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.
7 They say unto him, Why did Moses then command to give a writing of divorcement, and to put her away?
8 He saith unto them, Moses because of the hardness of your hearts suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning, it was not so.
9 And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery.
10 His disciples say unto him, If the case of the man is so with his wife, it is not good to marry.
11 But he said unto them, All men cannot receive this saying, save they to whom it is given.
12 For there are some eunuchs, which were so born from their mother’s womb: and there are some eunuchs, which were made eunuchs of men: and there be eunuchs, which have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven’s sake. He that is able to receive it, let him receive it.

LESSON INTRODUCTION

According to the Bible, marriage is a lifetime commitment (Matthew 19:6). God realises though, that, since marriage involves two sinful human beings, divorces are going to occur. He laid down some laws, in the Old Testament, in order to protect the rights of divorcees, especially women (Deuteronomy 24:1-4).

However, Jesus pointed out that these laws were given because of the hardness of people’s hearts, not because such laws were God’s desire (Matthew 19:8). Therefore, it is important to remember Malachi 2:16. The pain, confusion, and frustration most people experience after a divorce are surely part of the reason that God hates divorce. Even more difficult, biblically, than the question of divorce, is the question of remarriage.

TEXT REVIEW: Matthew 19:3-12.

Rebuilding Parents-Children Bridges-RCCG Sunday School Teachers

OPENING PRAYER

Father, help all parents to bring up their children in the way of the Lord. Help all children to grow in the love and fear of the Lord.

PREVIOUS KNOWLEDGE

The teacher should allow students to recall their knowledge of retirement as presented during the previous week’s lesson.

MEMORY VERSE

“And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.” – Ephesians 6:4

BIBLE PASSAGE

 Ephesians 6:1-4 KJV
(Eph 6:1)  Children, it is your Christian duty to obey your parents, for this is the right thing to do.
(Eph 6:2)  “Respect your father and mother” is the first commandment that has a promise added:
(Eph 6:3)  “so that all may go well with you, and you may live a long time in the land.”
(Eph 6:4)  Parents, do not treat your children in such a way as to make them angry. Instead, raise them with Christian discipline and instruction.

LESSON INTRODUCTION

Building parents-children bridges can be an uphill task. It is obvious that there is a generational gap between parents and their children. When we compare two generations and when there is a considerable difference in the lifestyles, habits, likes and dislikes of the people belonging to these separate times, problems due to the age gap arise. It is no secret that these days, these gaps are widening by width and bounds. This lack of understanding of social, moral, political, musical, fashion or religious opinion leads to a lack of acceptance which is the primary reason families break.

LESSON OUTLINES:

LESSON OUTLINE 1: CAUSES OF RELATIONAL GAP BETWEEN PARENTS AND CHILDREN

NOTE:
See how to handle this outline under the activities below:

i. Generational Gap: Generational gap means being born and living around the same time, also known as ‘coevals. When there is a significant gap of time among two coevals, it is defined as a ‘generational gap’. A generation gap or generational gap is a difference of opinions between one generation and another regarding beliefs, politics, or values. 1 Kings 12:3-10.
ii. Culture Shift: Modification of a way of life through innovation, invention, discovery, or contact with other societies. It derives from the experience of encountering new ways of doing things that challenge the basic belief that your doing things is the “correct” way (Genesis 29:25-26).
iii. Need for Space: Parents feel protective about their children and they like to be involved and be informed about the things that are happening in their children’s lives. However, the younger generation feels a need for space as they are discovering and experimenting with new things. Judges 14:1-3.
iv. Thought-Flow Differences: Parents’ morals and views of life can be very different from their children’s. This can lead to either imposition of ideals/decisions or friction/resistance on the part of the children. Judges 14:3.
v. Little or no Attention/Support: The busy schedules of many parents, as a result of their careers or other engagements, have severed the relationship they have with their children. Children from such homes suffer from lack of attention, emotional/psychological support, etc. 1 Samuel 16:11.

Bible Texts

1 Kings 12:3-10
1Ki 12:3  The people of the northern tribes sent for him, and then they all went together to Rehoboam and said to him,
1Ki 12:4  “Your father Solomon treated us harshly and placed heavy burdens on us. If you make these burdens lighter and make life easier for us, we will be your loyal subjects.”
1Ki 12:5  “Come back in three days and I will give you my answer,” he replied. So they left.
1Ki 12:6  King Rehoboam consulted the older men who had served as his father Solomon’s advisers. “What answer do you advise me to give these people?” he asked.
1Ki 12:7  They replied, “If you want to serve these people well, give a favourable answer to their request, and they will always serve you loyally.”
1Ki 12:8  But he ignored the advice of the older men and went instead to the young men who had grown up with him and who were now his advisers.
1Ki 12:9  “What do you advise me to do?” he asked. “What shall I say to the people who are asking me to make their burdens lighter?”
1Ki 12:10  They replied, “This is what you should tell them: ‘My little finger is thicker than my father’s waist!’

Colossian 3:21
Col 3:21  Parents, do not irritate your children, or they will become discouraged.
Prov 22:6
Pro 22:6  Teach children how they should live, and they will remember it all their life.
ACTIVITIES:
i. Teacher should divide the class into five groups.

ii. Teacher should give the following points to each group to discuss how they can lead to gap between parents and the children. For instance:
a. Group 1: Generational gap.
b. Group 2: Cultural Shift.
C. Group 3: Need for Space.
d. Group 4: Thought-flow Differences.
e. Group 5; Lack of Adequate Attention.
iii. Where the group do not understand the point, the teacher should briefly explain the meaning to the group.
iv. Each group should present their points to the class with a speaker representing each group.
v. Teacher could give an extra point to support the submissions of each group.
NOTE: The above represent class activity. No other Class Activity 1.

LESSON OUTLINE 2: BRIDGING THE GAP

A. Treat Lesson Outline 2 as that of outline 1 above as stated under the activities below.
The reality of a generation gap is only in terms of age. If parents put aside their ego and look at things from an entirely different perspective, they would perhaps never have a gap between themselves and their children. Here are some tips on how parents can bridge the gap between themselves and their children:
i. Communicate constantly: When parents communicate respectfully at an opportune time with their children, they are letting them know that they are willing to do all it takes to lessen the age gap and understand things from their points of view. Proverbs 25:11.
ii. Listen and understand: Parents sometimes tend to talk too idealist. They should rather learn to listen, and let their children voice their opinions for better understanding. Nagging or giving lectures all the time is not a good idea. Colossians 3:21, Ephesian 6:4.
iii. Be open-minded: When parents open their hearts, they look at things in a new perspective. This is very important if they must understand their children’s own priorities and habits. 1 Thessalonians 5:21.
iv. Learn to accept: Parents have to first accept that they “lived” in a world different from today’s. Therefore, they have to make the effort to understand and accept their children’s reasonable perspectives and priorities. Ecclesiastes 3:1.
v. Break through your imperfection and fear: Parents should realise that they are not perfect just as their children are not also perfect. Let not your parenting be done out of fear but in love. Parents must model God’s love with their words and actions. Proverbs 22:6.

B. ACTIVITIES: Give the following points to the groups so identified:
Group 1: Regular communication.
Group 2: Listening and understanding.
Group 3: Open-minded.
Group 4: Learning and understanding the reality of the present age.
Group 5: Accepting the reality of imperfection of ideas of parents and the issue of fears.
C. Each group should explain to the class how each of the factors can bridge the gap between the parents and the children.
D. Teacher should prepare to assist any group whose answers are not satisfactory enough.
E. Teacher should explain the role which age differences and ego could play in the expansion of the gap between the parents and their children.

NOTE: The above also represents the class activity. Therefore, there is no class activity 2.

SUMMARY: Allowing a gap to exist between the children and parents could have a devastating effect on the proper upbringing of the child. Therefore, any identified gap should be closed and bridged.

CONCLUSION: Building the gap between parents and children involves doing what is needed to be done as parents by becoming a little more understanding and accepting what their children see as their ‘world’.

EVALUATION: What are the factors responsible for gap between parents and children? How can the gap be bridged?

CLOSING PRAYER: Father, help parents with divine wisdom to bridge the gap between them and their children.

ASSIGNMENT: List five devastating effects of allowing or tolerating gap between parents and children.
