Soldiers Of The Cross. RCCG SOD Year Three

Our Captain is a good Warrior (Exodus 15:3). The Bible says the Lord is a man of war. When he decides to fight, He sharpens His swords and weapons (Deut. 32:39-43).

The Lord is a man of war and He knows how not to forget the saying that if you want peace you must prepare for war.

When our God and Captain fight, he fights with all that He has. He fights both from above and beneath. He throws all He has into it.

A good example is seen in Joshua 10:10-11;30. The Lord is seen fighting with hail stones from above and with a flood of water from beneath.

He made the ground muddy so that the enemy could not run away and escape.

That is why the Bible says in Psalms 68:1-2, “Let God arise and His enemies be scattered”.

God has promised in Isaiah 1:24 to get rid of all his enemies. He did not just say so, He swore. In Is. 62:6-9, God swore to get rid of His enemies.

But there is a condition. His disciples must be willing to fight also. He will fight for them for He is their captain. He will lead the battle but we must be willing to fight.

Paul admonished Timothy in 1 Timothy 6;12 for fight the good fight of Faith. He didn’t say play the good play of faith.

That is the purpose of recruiting new disciples- so that the number of soldiers will increase.

In 1 Timothy 1:18, the Bible says, “This charge I commit unto thee, son Timothy, according to the prophesies which went before on thee, that thou by them mightest war a good warfare. “

There is a war to be fought, so the disciple must be willing to fight. He must be willing to fight like His master. In 2 Timothy 2:3-4, the Bible says:

“Thou, therefore, endure hardness as a good soldier of Christ. No man that warreth entangleth himself with affairs of this life that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier”.

We are chosen to be soldiers, and we must fight like our captain, Jesus Christ. We must throw everything into it. In Song of Solomon 6:10, the Bible says: “Who is she that looketh forth as the morning, fair as the moon, clear as the sun and terrible as an army with banners?”

The writer asks, “Who is she, not who is he? She is the bride of Christ, that is the disciple. We, the bride of Christ, are the army. He is leading us into battle. He is going to conduct the fight. We must be armed till the victory is won, according to Deuteronomy 3:18-22.

If you know him as Jehovah Nissi, the Lord our Banner and Captain, you would not run from battle. According to Daniel 11:32, He will supply the strength so that you can fight (2 Samuel 22:40).

In Is. 28:5-6, God says he will supply the strength and also conduct the fight. All you have to do is to have to do is to have faith in Him. He has never lost a battle.

The Bible says in 1 John 5:4 that if you have faith, you have overcome the world. Also, Hebrews 11:33-34 talks of those who by faith stopped the mouths of lions.

You must know that your Captain is greater than the enemy (1 Chronicles. 32:1-8).

You must now decide if you are going to be a soldier of the Lord as He leads the way, or if you are going to dodge.

In your decision, you must note one thing: that all those who fight for Him are blessed, and those who refuse to fight for Him are cursed (James 2:23-27).

The choice is yours. But remember that you are not going to do the fighting with your strength. Decide to be a soldier of God, always fighting for Him as He leads the way.
