TEXT REVIEW: Isaiah 1:18-20.

The prophet Isaiah in the above text declares the mind of God to His people as follows:
i. Come now …………………………………V18.
ii. If ye ……………………………………………V19.
iii. But if ye ……………………………………V20.

TEACHING METHOD: The Question and Answer Method.

TIME MANAGEMENT: The teacher should apply the two-lesson outline teaching time.

LESSON OUTLINES 1: MORE THAN A RELIGION

A. Teacher should ask the following questions

i. Question: What is a religion?
Answer: Simply put, Religion is the belief in and worship of a superhuman – with controlling power, especially a personal God or gods. (Exodus 34:14).
ii. Question: Is Christianity a religion?
Answer: In that respect, “Christianity can be classified as a religion”.
iii. Question: So how is Christianity more than a religion?
Answer: Practically speaking, Christianity has a key difference that separates it from other belief systems that are considered religions. Most religions are man-centered. They are built upon the concept that man can reach a higher power – God through his own efforts – good works, sacrifices, rituals, etc. In that regard, Christianity is not a religion.

B. Question: Do men make a religion out of Christianity in any way?

Answer: Just as the Jewish leaders made a religion out of a relationship with God, many people do the same with Christianity:
i. They follow the way of the “Pharisees” in creating rules not found in Scripture (Mark 7:8).
ii. Some who profess to follow Christ are actually following man-made religion in the name of Jesus (Colossians 2:8).
iii. While claiming to believe Scripture, they are often plagued with fear and doubt that they may not be good enough to earn salvation or that God will not accept them if they do not carry out some ritualistic activities or perform to a certain standard (Ephesians 2:8-9).
iv. The leaders of religious sects add many of their own rules to make it even more cumbersome (Matthew 15:9).
v. They pride themselves on their ability to keep the Law – at least outwardly. This is religion masquerading as Christianity: it is one of Satan’s favourite tricks (Matthew 23:1-7).

CLASS ACTIVITY 1: Students should mention other reasons why the Christian faith is more than a religion.

LESSON OUTLINES 2: A CALL TO A RELATIONSHIP

1. Question: What are the proofs that the Christian faith is a call to a relationship?

Answer: The Christian faith is a relationship that God has established with His children because:
i. The Bible states clearly that there is nothing man can do to make himself right with God (Isaiah 64:6).
ii. God did for us what we cannot do for ourselves (Colossians 2:13; 2 Corinthians 5:21).
iii. Our sin separates us from His presence, and sin must be punished (Romans 6:23).
iv. God loves us, He took our punishment upon Himself (Isaiah 53:5).
v. All we must do is accept God’s gift of salvation by grace through faith (Ephesians 2:8-9).

2. Question: Are there other reasons to substantiate that Christianity is a call to a relationship?

Answer: The grace-based relationship between God and man is the foundation of Christianity and the opposite of religion (Titus 2:11-14):
i. We are able to love God “because He first loved us” (1 John 4:19).
ii. Holiness and obedience to Scripture are important, but they are pieces of evidence of a transformed heart, not a means to attain it.
iii. God desires that we be holy as He is holy (1 Peter 1:16).
iv. He wants us to grow in grace and in the knowledge of Him (2 Peter 3:18).
v. We do these things because we are His children and want to be like Him, not in order to earn His love.
vi. God wants us to know Him, draw near to Him, pray to Him, and love Him above everything. That is not religion; that is a relationship.

CLASS ACTIVITY 2: Mention encounters you have in your faith that shows you clearly that you are in a relationship with God.

CONCLUSION: Christianity is not about signing up for a religion. Christianity is about being born into the family of God (John 3:3).

QUESTIONS:

  1. What is religion?
  2. Explain the Christian faith.

EVALUATION: Students should mention two things that show Christianity is more than a religion.

CLOSING PRAYER: Father, let my relationship with You wax stronger in Jesus’ name.

ASSIGNMENT: Write five differences between the Christian faith and other faiths. (2×5=10 marks).

*Introducing the Lesson*
_____________________
Psalms 65 and 115 describe two different aspects of life. In Psalm 65, David rejoiced in God for answering
prayer and forgiving sins, He praised God for His great power and
blessings. Psalm 115, on the other hand, describes those who are going
through adversity. They know God is sovereign and resides in heaven, but the physical evidence is not there.
The Psalmist provided hope in adversity. The people needed to trust
God and praise Him because of who He is even in difficult circumstances. Both psalms remind us that we are to glorify God, our Sovereign King, in all
circumstances.

*Commentary and Application*

*1. Glorify the Living God*
A. Our Loving God
*Psalm 115:1-2*

The people of Israel were
experiencing adversity. The Psalmist does not tell us what that adversity was, but the people recognised that ít
somehow reflected on God’s ability to protect and provide for His people. Thus, they prayed, “Not to us, O
Lord, not to us” (Psalm 115:1). They were not asking God to deliver them from their adversity for their sake to
relieve their distress. They were calling on God to do something to
restore honour and glory to His
name. God had promised Moses of His “unfailing love and faithfulness
Exodus 34:6). It did not seem that God was fulfilling His commitment toward His people.

lsrael’s adversity and God’s seeming inability o or lack of desire to
help His people brought a sarcastic response from the nations around
Israel (Psalm 115:2). These nations knew of God’s great power. They had heard how God had delivered the Israelites from Egypt (see Joshua
3:9-11; 6:1; 5:1). Perhaps some of these nations had experienced
defeat at the hands of the Israelites.
The nations’ taunting remark in Psalm 115:2 reflected not only on

God’s people and their relationship with Him, but on His abilty to help
and defend His people.
God’s people were asking God, “Why are you letting these rnations dishonor you?” They Could not
understand why God would not respond to the taunt of these ungodly
people and defend himself.

When we are experiencing
adversity, we may wonder, Where is
God in our adversity? Those who know we believe in God’s power to
save and deliver may question God’s
integrity and ability to help.

B. The Futility of ldols
*Psalm 115:3-8*
Psalm 115:3-8 presents a great contrast between the God of Israel
and the idols of the heathens. The heathens could see their idols; they could not see Israel’s God. The Psalmist thundered back in defence by proclaiming the sovereignty of God. God is not an unmovable, impersonal God. He has a heart of love that is moved to action on behalf of His children. The unseen God is all-powerful. He is in heaven and “he does as he wishes” (verse 3, NLT). He cannot be manipulated. Even if ít
seems He is withholding help from His people He is not powerless to help.

The heathens’ idols are man-made, unlike the invisible God who created the heavens and the Earth.
These idols are helpless. They have human characteristicS-mouths,
eyes, ears, hand, feet, and throats. But unlike their human counterparts, these parts have no ability to function in a meaningful way (verses 4-8; see
also Isaiah 44:9-20). The God of’heaven hèars, sees, and speaks
(Psalms 34:17; 33:13; 85:8). The enemies of God had ridiculed Him
and intimidated those who followed Him. Those who make and trust in idols are just like them and just as
foolish as their idols (Psalm 115:8). While the heathen insinuated that
Israel’s God was powerless or unwilling to help, they foolishly
believed that man-made idols could help them.

The apostle Paul explained the futility and ultimate demise of those who worship idols (Romans 1:22-32). Rejecting God leads one
further and further into sin. We live in a time when people often ridicule us for believing in God. They claim that
God is a crutch for the weak. The Bible, however, declares that God is the Creator of heaven and the Earth. He is the Sovereign God over all creation. As such we can trust Him, even in adversity.

*2. Glorify the Mindful Master*
A. God Our Helper and Shield
*Psalm 115:9-11*
The Psalmist followed his description of the foolishness of idols
and those who worship them with a call to trust God (Psalm 115:9-11).
How different is the worship of God
from the worship of idols. The Psalmist’s call went out to three
groups:

(1) The whole nation was to trust God. God had called them to be
His special people (Deuteronomy 26:17-19). They were not to forsake Him.

(2) The prieststhe spiritual leaders–were to trust God. At times
the priests were unfaithful to their
calling and the nation suffered Ezekiel 22:26: Malachi 2:7-9).

(3) “All you who fear the Lord” (Psalm
115:11, NLT) —Which would even include those outside of the covenant
of Israelwere to trust God.

Three times the Psalmist
provided the reason people are to trust God: “He is your helper and your shield” (Psalm 115:9-11). The ídols
mentioned in Psalm 115:4-7 could
not help anyone. They were lifeless. But the living God will help all who put their trust in Him.

God would be their “shield” to protect them from their enemies. The
people of lsrael had faced the Red Sea when Pharaoh and his army
were advancing, but God did not forsake them. This was a constant
reminder to God’s people of His faithfulness. They could trust in Him.

God’s promise of help and protection is coupled with the command to trust Him. As believers,
we need to trust God when the way seems uncertain. We cannot trust in uncertain riches (Proverbs 11:28; 1 Timothy 6:17). We cannot trust in governments, We can only trust in the God who dwells in heaven.

B. God Blesses Those Who Fear Him
*Psalm 115:12–18*
The Psalmist began Psalm 115 with the lament that God had seemingly forsaken Israel. However, he concluded this psalm with words of encouragement. God has indeed remembered His people (verses 12-13). Just as the Psalmist named three groups of people in verses
(9-11, he named three groups here: “the people of Israel,” the priests,”
and “those who fear the Lord, both great and lowly.” God makes no
distinction among the laity, the priesthood, and the social outcasts.
All who place their trust in Him are His people and receive His blessings.

Even though God’s people may experience adversity, God does not
forget them, They are His covenant people and “He has remembered his
promise to love and be faithful to Israel” (Psalm 98:3, NLT). He promised to bless them through
delivering them from their aflictions and fulfilling His promises toward them.

Psalm 115:14–18 is a prayer for God’s blessing. God’s blessings are
for all generations (verse 14). As Creator, God has the power and
ability to bless His people. He sovereignly rules over everything He
created (verse 16). Even though God is in heaven (verse 3), He is still
concerned about people on the Earth. He has assigned humanity to
rule over and care for the Earth (see Genesis 1:28; 2:15). Everything we do is to serve and honour God.

In Psalm 115:14-18, the
Psalmist prays a blessing over God’s
people. In verses 17-18, the people have the opportunity and
responsibility to bless God through praise. Even in adversity the Psalmist taught that God is their Helper and Shield. Even if He has not yet delivered them, they can still praise Him.

Praise is an important part of our walk with Christ. We need to learn to Pralse God even during the difficult
times. Even when we do not see Him at work, He is still God. For this He
deserves our praise.

*3. Glorify the Awesome Provider*
A. God Provides for Our Spiritual Needs
*Psalm 65:1-8*
The people of Israel had come to Jerusalem (Zion) to worship God in
His temple (Psalm 65:1). God had answered their prayers and they
committed to fulfilling their “vows. Their “vows” were their promises to
worship God because of who He is and for His provision (see Psalm
56:12; 61:8; 66:13-15). While God’s people recognise God’s majesty and power, the scope of worship extends
beyond the nation. “All of us” (Psalm 65:2, NLT) or “all flesh” (KJV) refers
to “all humanity.”

One of the reasons the Israelites came to Jerusalem was to offer
sacrifices for forgiveness. They had
experienced the overwhelming guilt
of sin (verse 3; see 32:1-7). God is faithful to forgive, in spite of their sin. Because they found forgiveness,
they could worship with joy as they “dwell in his holy courts” (Psalm 65:4,
KJV). In the same way, when we dwell in God’s forgiveness and
presence, we will experience His joy
and worship Him.

God also provides security and salvation (verses 5-8). God ís our
“Savior.” God has displayed His majestic power through “awesome deeds.” We can see God’s mighty
power through creation (verse 6).
The “raging oceans” posed no threat
because God had created them
(verse 7). Israel’s history is full of accounts where God delivered His
people from their enemies, adversity,
and provided for thenm in times of famine. God “silenced the shouting
of the nations” (verse 7, NLT).

Yet God’s mighty power was not for Israel alone; it was for the other
nations as well (verse 8). Israel was to be a testimony of God’s
faithfulness and proclaim His faith-
fulness to other nations so they too could experience God’s salvation and provision.

For Israel, God was “the hope of everyone on earth” (verse 5, NLT). In
the same way, Jesus is the hope of our world. Through Him we find
forgiveness of sin and stand in awe of His mighty power on our behalf. Like the Psalmist, with joy we praise
Him and proclaim His name to all nations.

B. God Provides for
Our Physical Needs

*Psalm 65:9-13*
Ancient Israel was largely an agricultural society. They learned to
trust God for His care of them by His care of the land (Psalm 65:9).
Everything we read in this psalm describes God’s abundance. The
streams are full of water. He makes the ground “rich and fertile” (verse 9, NLT). While they prepared the fields, they could depend on God to supply the water to grow their crops. Thus
He drenches “the plowed ground with rain” (verse 10, NLT). The early
rain gave cropsa good start and the latter rain helped the crops mature
and produce abundant harvests (verse 11). In an arid land where grass was often scarce, the rain transformed the wilderness into “lush
pasture” (verse 12, NLT) to supply food for their sheep (verse 13). The
Psalmist depicted the e Earth as rejoicing at God’s abundant blessing on it.

The abundant outpouring of God’s care and provision is a sign of
His gracious mercy through the forgiveness of sin. While lsrael were
God’s special people who were chosen to receive His blessing, the
appeal of this psalm reaches far beyond lsraeldesires that a
beyond Israel to everyone in the world (verse 2). God desires that “all fiesh” (KJV) experience His saving
grace through Christ. He wants to restore all humanity to His original
purpose for which He created this world. Our responsibility is to tell
about God’s saving grace, the forgiveness of sins, and the blessings God desires to pour out on those who serve Him (Matthew 28:19-20).

e-Commerce Statistics: Some Amazing Statistics That You Should Know

e-Commerce Statistics: Some Amazing Statistics That You Should Know

The internet has changed people’s lives in numerous ways. From the way we look for information to the way we buy things. Nothing can stop the fast development of this immersion into the new technologies that we have now reached the point where we can no longer even imagine our lives without the internet.

In such a reality, people are trying to adapt their lives and to get the best out of it. They want to improve their lives and become more efficient. Why would they go to the restaurant for dinner if they can order food? Why would they spend time shopping when they can order everything they need in less than ten minutes? There is a constant trend to use the internet, not only to find out information but to get things done.

Buyers and sellers

On the one hand, we have buyers, people who try to make their lives easier and better by buying online. Regardless if we talk about making grocery shopping quick and easy, or ordering an item from abroad. The internet enables fulfilling those needs and the ability to obtain something you could not even imagine two decades ago. Besides convenience, online shopping also provides a great selection of products and services, as well as competitive prices. This is something that provides an incredible advantage over any local retail.

Due to the growing expansion of the internet and the fact that new generations are growing up with the internet experience being part of their lives from the early days, the number of digital buyers is constantly on the rise. From 1.32 billion digital buyers in 2014, this number is expected to grow to more than 2 billion by 2020.

The estimated number of digital buyers worldwide

On the other hand, we have people who create or simply resell products through the usage of the internet. These sellers are turning to the internet as a tool to run their business and ultimately earn their living. Some are choosing the existing platforms specialized in the sale of goods, such as eBay, while others have decided to create their own online stores.

Either way, the goal is to reach consumers and encourage them to buy. As a seller, your goal is first to reach the digital buyers, and then persuade them to buy from you, using a series of promotional activities, online interaction, etc.

E-commerce

Buyers and sellers together make up e-commerce, short for electronic commerce. E-commerce is the transaction between a buyer and a seller, which is done through online technologies. It is the process of using the internet to buy or sell online.

Despite the fact that e-commerce is something available to anyone and in spite of how easy it might be to start selling products and services online, there are many struggles to make this business viable and actually capitalize your efforts in the digital world. As the market gets saturated, day by day, it becomes even more difficult to place your products on that market.

A modern consumer is overwhelmed with numerous advertising messages each day. He is also mobile, which means easy access to the information and ability to buy on the go. A modern consumer is also doubtful and equivocal. Faced with plenty of choices and alternatives, a modern consumer needs to make decisions on a daily basis.

All of this shapes the approach of modern businesses whose goal is to reach that modern consumer and persuade him that theirs is the product they should buy. It is not an easy task, but with the right strategy and tools, you should be able to introduce and position your company in the e-commerce market.

E-commerce statistics

Getting started with e-commerce is a process that requires learning about different aspects that influence setting up and running an e-commerce website. It is also helpful to have in mind the e-commerce statistics that provide a glimpse into the importance of this industry and the trends that are tremendously shaping the way strategy is implemented.

• Millennials and Gen Xers are similar in their likelihood to buy online—more than 90% of internet users in both age groups have made a digital purchase in the past year. However millennials are more likely to research products or make a purchase via their smartphone. (eMarketer)
• In 2015, the global population amounted to around 7.3 billion people, of which 1.4 billion people purchased goods and/or services online at least once. In total, they spent $2,272.7bn online, which results in an average spending per e-shopper of $1,582. (EcommerceWiki)
• Worldwide retail sales—including in-store and internet purchases—will surpass $22 trillion in 2015, up 5.6% from 2014. Retail e-commerce sales, those purchased over the Internet, will make up 7.4% of the total retail market worldwide, or $1.671 trillion. By 2019, that share will jump to $3.578 trillion, yet retail e-commerce will account for just 12.8% of retail purchases. (eMarketer)

Rest And Recognition. AG Sunday School Teen Manual

Text: Exodus 20:1-12; 23:12; Isaiah 58:13-14; Eph 6:1-3′ Col 3:20

KEY VERSE: Ephesians 6:2-3
“Honour your father and your mother”- which is the first commandment with a promise – “that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth.” (NIV)

Focus

Recognizing the Sabbath and respecting our parents are both issues of honour. But these commands may also be a little more awkward to deal with, since many people tend to view them as irrelevant in contemporary society. After all, most people are too busy to give serious consideration to a whole day of rest. And defying parents is simply regarded as teens testing the boundaries of independence. But God’s commands never go out of style. And His benefits never diminish. If we will honour God in these areas of life, He will honour us as well.

As you prepare for this session, consider your own regard for these relevant instructions. Be open with students about your shortcomings – and what you’ve learned from experience. And be willing to adjust your lifestyle to enjoy the benefits of greater trust in God.

The Basic Message: Explain to students..

WHAT’S THE BIG IDEA?

Following God’s commands honours Him and benefits us.

WHY DOES IT MATTER?

We suffer unnecessary emotional, physical, and spiritual weariness by failing to honour God in our time and relationships.

HOW DO I LIVE IT?

Honour God by reserving a day for worship and refreshment and by demonstrating godly respect for your parents.

>>Study Overview: Explain that today’s study considers…
• How observing a weekly day of rest and worship provides an opportunity to honour God and be personally refreshed.
• That the way we treat our parents reflects our respect to God.
• How following God’s commands may not always seem realistic, but brings definite benefits.

Inform and Discuss

a). Remember the Sabbath

>>Teacher Hint: Explain that the Israelites Viewed the Sabbath reminder that God had set them apart (Exo 31:13) and that He had delivered them from the bondage of hard labour in Egypt (Deut 5:15) With the development of the synagogue during Jewish exile. The Sabbath became a day of rest, but also for worship and the study of His Law.

1. Read or have a volunteer read Exo 20:8-11. Why do you think God issued this command? [Hint: When we reserve a day for rest and worship, we honour God and His power. By following His command for rest, we demonstrate trust in God rather than in ourselves.

2. Read or have volunteers read Exo 23:12; Isa 58:13-14. What kinds of things might be regarded as “doing as you please” or “going your own way” rather than observing a day of rest and worship?

Guide: Explain that our bodies and minds are not designed for nonstop wear and tear. God created us with a need for physical and emotional rest as well as a need for fellowship with him. When we follow God’s pattern for weekly rest and refreshment we will usually work more productively and maintain a more positive attitude.

3. Do you think it is realistic for Christians today to try to set aside an entire day for God? Why or why not? [Guide: Explain that today’s hurried pace makes many people to think that they’ve got too much to do to give the Lord an entire day. But we should not forget that God gave this Command because He loves us and wants us to live fulfilled, healthy lives.

b. Respect Your Parents
1. Read or have a volunteer read Exod 20:12. What does it mean to honour your parents? Why does God require it? [Hint: God expects us to respond properly to parents and guardians, acting in kindness, support, and respect, even when it’s tough.

2. Read or have a volunteer read Col 3:20. How does this command apply in situations where parents have been irresponsible or ungodly? [Hint: By obeying our imperfect parents, we demonstrate honour, not because they are worthy – although most are – but because God commanded it. In honouring them, we honour God.]

3. How can a Christian teen’s actions affect his or her relationships with non-Christian parents? [Hint: Teens’ actions can set an example and influence their parents for Christ.

Guide: Explain that harbouring bitterness or resentment toward parents, regardless of their relationship with God, will ultimately harm us emotionally, physically, and spiritually. God calls us to respond graciously at all times, depending on Him to help us deal with negative emotions.

>>Teacher Hint: Be sensitive to students from difficult or dysfunctional family situations. If a teen feels there is no way to endure a family situation, he or she should talk to a trusted godly adult. Above all, encourage students to trust God, who offers the grace needed to give proper honour to the authorities in our lives.

4. What should teens do if the desires, advice, or instructions of their parents go against God’s will or instructions? [Hint: Unless a parents’ advice will cause undue harm or provoke us to defy God, we should give them the benefit of the doubt and obey. When the time comes to make decisions our parents don’t agree with, we must do so graciously, not in arrogance, defiance, or bitterness.]

5. Read or have a volunteer read Eph 6:1-3. Why do you think God gives this promise? What does it mean? (Guide: Explain that this doesn’t mean that if a person dies young it’s because he or she broke this command. This promise was both specific to individuals and general to all of Israel. If they honoured their God-given authorities, God would honour them with various physical and spiritual blessings.

Involve Them: PARENTAL POP QUIZ

Ask students to take a few moments to analyze their relationships with their parents/guardians in the following areas captured in the table below, using a scale from “almost never” to “almost always. “Then, have them prayerfully consider the questions regarding their relationship with their parents/guardians in the “Reflection” sections, and finally complete the “action” questions.

REFLECTION: 1. What are some of the areas of strength in your relationship with them? |2. What tare some of the areas in your relationship with them that you would like to improve? |3. What are some specific thing you could do to repair, rebuild, or strengthen your relationship with them?

ACTION: What would you like to do in the next week to express your love for your parents and your desire to strengthen your relationship with them?

Inspire Them: Remind students of “The Basic Message” of this study (pg 57), explain WHAT the Big Idea behind the study is; WHY it matters; and HOW we can live the lesson captured in the study.

Ministry Activity: PERKS FOR PARENTS
Ask students to suggest specific ways that we can honour – or dishonour- our parents. List their responses in two columns on the board. Then, challenge them to commit to at least one positive action that would bless their parents this week.

Invitation Option: If you have students who are yet to give their lives to Jesus, give them opportunity to respond to His offer of forgiveness and eternal life. Pray with them as they commit their lives to His leadership.

Teacher Hint: Ask yourself…

1. Do students understand the reasons and benefits of taking an entire day for worship and refreshment?
2. Do students see that honouring parents is a way of honouring God?
3. Have students determined specific ways to honour their parents this week?

Theophany. RCCG Sunday School Student Manual.

TOPIC: Theophany

MEMORY VERSE: “And the Lord descended in the cloud, and stood with him there, and proclaimed the name of the Lord.” – Exodus 34:5 (KJV)

BIBLE PASSAGE: Genesis 18:1-3, 16-22 (KJV)

Genesis 18:1-3
18 And the Lord appeared unto him in the plains of Mamre: and he sat in the tent door in the heat of the day;

2 And he lift up his eyes and looked, and, lo, three men stood by him: and when he saw them, he ran to meet them from the tent door, and bowed himself toward the ground,

3 And said, My Lord, if now I have found favour in thy sight, pass not away, I pray thee, from thy servant:

Genesis 18:16-22
16 And the men rose up from thence, and looked toward Sodom: and Abraham went with them to bring them on the way.

17 And the Lord said, Shall I hide from Abraham that thing which I do;

18 Seeing that Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him?

19 For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the Lord, to do justice and judgment; that the Lord may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him.

20 And the Lord said, Because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great and because their sin is very grievous;

21 I will go down now, and see whether they have done altogether according to the cry of it, which is come unto me; and if not, I will know.

22 And the men turned their faces from thence, and went toward Sodom: but Abraham stood yet before the Lord.

LESSON INTRODUCTION: The term “Theophany” comes from the Ancient Greek theophaneia, meaning “appearance of a deity.” Specifically, a “theophany” is a visible or tangible manifestation of God. In its most restrictive sense, it is a visible appearance of God in the Old Testament period, often, but not always, in human form. The use of the term “theophany” is restricted here to manifestations of God in temporary forms visible to the eyes (not in dreams). A frequent introduction for theophanies may be seen in the phrase “the Lord came down” (Genesis 11:5; Exodus 34:5).

LESSON OUTLINES:

  1. CATEGORIES AND BIBLICAL INSTANCES
  2. THE INCARNATION OF CHRIST

1. CATEGORIES AND BIBLICAL INSTANCES

Some of the tangible or visible manifestations of God are found in three categories: appearance as a man, non-human form, and appearance as an angel.

A. Appearance As A Man: Biblical instances include:
Genesis 18:1-3, 13, 17 – Abraham had some visitors: two angels and God Himself. He invited them to come to his home, and he and Sarah entertained them.
Genesis 32:22-30 – Jacob wrestled with what appeared to be a man, but was God (vs.28-30).
Daniel 3:23-25 – The fourth man in the fire is none other than God.

B. Non-Human Form:
Exodus 24: 16-18 – Frequently, the term “glory of the Lord” reflects a theophany.
Deuteronomy 31:14-15 – God appeared to Moses and Joshua in the transfer of leadership to Joshua “…in a pillar of cloud….”

C. Appearance As “The Angel of the LORD”: This is also called “Angelophany.” There is a difference between “an angel” and “the Angel of the Lord.” The Angel of the Lord usually refers to himself as the Lord or God in the Old Testament. It is not every appearance of angels that is a theophany. Biblical instances include:
Genesis 16:7-14 – The angel of the Lord appears to Hagar. The angel speaks as God himself in the first person, and in verse 13 Hagar identifies “the LORD that spoke to her” as “The God” Who sees.”
Genesis 22:11-12 – The angel of the Lord appears to Abraham and refers to himself as God in the first person.
Genesis 31:11-13 – “The angel of God” says, “…I am the God of Beth-el”.

2. THE INCARNATION OF CHRIST

The pre-incarnate appearance of Christ (in the Old Testament) is called “Christophany.” Jesus is the fulfilment of God’s presence. He is the one to which every theophany – in the Old Testament – was pointing (Hebrews 1:1-3; John 1:1, 14).

However, the incarnation of Christ is different from the Old Testament instances of theophany. The Old Testament theophanies are preliminary – they foreshadow and prefigure the coming of Christ in the flesh. The coming of Christ is their fulfillment – their climax (Matthew 5:17). In addition, Christ’s incarnation is permanent, while the theophanies in the Old Testament were temporary. It is through Jesus that we will finally and fully experience the presence of God with us (Revelation 21:1-4).

The class should discuss why they believe Christ is the fullness of God’s presence any man could wish for.

CONCLUSION: The main point of a theophany is to know that God is present with humanity. That is ultimately expressed through Christ.

QUESTIONS

  1. Mention the three categories of the visible manifestations of God.
  2. Explain the incarnation of Christ.

ASSIGNMENT: Write five reasons people still doubt God’s existence despite the pieces of evidence in the Scriptures and around us. (2×5=10 marks).

God: The One and Only. AG Adult Sunday School Manual.

STUDY 1: GOD: THE ONE AND ONLY

TEXT: Exodus 20:1-17; Isaiah 44:12-19

KEY VERSE: Exodus 20:3

You shall have no other god before me. (NIV)

>Focus
The problem most people have with the Ten Commandments has a little to do with the content of the laws, or even the fact that they are associated with a “religion.” Instead, the problem most people have, whether they realize it or not, is with the SOURCE of the commands. Due to satanic influence on society, God Himself has become a topic of contention.

The devil knows that if he can undermine God’s authority in people’s minds, they’ll willingly disregard His laws and expectations.

It is no coincidence that God’s commands regarding our relationship with Him are at the top of His list. He alone is God; we must look to no other. Anything that displaces Him in our lives is unacceptable.

As you prepare to challenge students with this foundational truth, examine your own life to expose hidden “idols” – i.e., things that detract from your relationship with God.

Re-evaluate your respect for God and regard for His powerful name. Then pray that God will help you to graciously convey His primary commands to students for whom He wants only the best.

The Basic Message: Explain to students…

• WHAT’S THE BIG IDEA?
God expects us to have first place in our lives.
• WHY DOES IT MATTER?
Obeying the first commandment is the foundation for obeying all God’s other laws.
• HOW DO I LIVE IT?
Re-evaluate and remove things from your life that could be “idols” or “false gods; “and allow God to reclaim top priority.

>>Study Overview: Explain that today’s study considers…
• That the first three of the Ten Commandments tell us that God expects top priority in our lives.
• How we must not allow anything in our lives to become an “idol.”
• Why and how we must always give proper respect to God and His name.

Inform and Discuss

a). No Other Gods

>>Teacher Hint: Explain that the Israelites had just come out of 400 years of slavery in Egypt, where worshipping false gods was common. There were so many Egyptian gods that rivalries arose concerning which was most powerful. It’s interesting that, through the ten plagues and the dividing of the Red Sea, God proved Himself to be the one true God; and therefore demanded they throw off any affinity toward other gods.

1. Read or have a volunteer read Exo 20:1-3. What does the first commandment mean for us today? [God is not saying there are other gods, but that anything can become a “god” if we’re not careful.]

2. What “gods” does our culture encourage teens to worship? What happens when these things take priority over God in a person’s life?

Hint: The things we admire, depend on, or set up as priorities (and even people) can constitute “gods.” When these things take priority over God in a person’s life, they compromise the individual’s purpose and desensitize him or her to God’s care and direction.

Note: God is not saying we can’t have things like money, nice possessions, certain activities, or relationships with other people.

But we must not give them priority over Him with our attention and affection – we must relate with these things in a way that honours Him and follows His priority for our lives.

3. Why is it critical to keep God first and serve Him alone? [Hint: Depending on things other than God for satisfaction leads to hopelessness or false security. Only God who created you can give you peace, satisfaction, and ultimate purpose.

4. How can you be sure that God has top priority in your life? [Hint: Spend time listening to Him in prayer, learning what He says in His Word, and living what you hear and see from Him.

b). No Other Image
Teacher Hint: Read or have a volunteer read Exo 20:4-6. Explain that our view of God must be shaped by His Word and by how He revealed Himself through His Son, Jesus.

1. Read or have volunteers read Isa 44:12-19. Does the issue of idolatry really apply to most modern cultures? If so, how? [Hint:

Most people consider themselves to be too cultured or “enlightened” to engage in the worship of man-made images. Yet, people continue to set up idols and false images in their lives by allowing material things, activities, or people to detract from them or take the place of God in their lives.

2. Why is God’s jealousy appropriate (Exo 20:5)? [Hint: God loves us completely. As our Creator and Redeemer,

He has the right to expect complete devotion. Hence, He won’t tolerate anything that persistently opposes our relationship with Him.

c). No Other Name
• Read or have a volunteer read Exo 20:7. What does it mean to “misuse” or take God’s name “in vain”? [Hint: This includes making a false promise by it (Lev 19:21); pronouncing it insincerely or thoughtlessly, or cursing and blaspheming (Lev 24:10-16).

>Guide: Explain that God’s name is the Name above all names (Phil 2:9-10), and must be honoured and respected as HOLY and SACRED. God’s name carries His personal identity-all He is and does.

The way we use His name shows how we really feel about Him. We must respect His name, using it appropriately in prayer, praise, and worship, rather than cursing or jest.

involve Them: FIRST THINGS FIRST

Enlarge, reproduce, and distribute to students copies of the table below. In the first column, have students list the top few items that get priority in each of the four categories.

In the middle column, have them briefly describe how each item listed relates to their relationship with God. In the last column, have them indicate whether each item should be more or less of a priority in their lives than it is now.

Guide: Explain that if anything is more important or of greater value to us than God, we’ve made it a god before Him. Putting God first isn’t always easy. We may have to break down some idols in our lives in order to put God first.

Inspire Them: Remind students of “The Basic Message” of this study (pg 53), explain WHAT the Big Idea behind the study is; WHY it matters; and HOW we can live the lesson captured in the study.

Ministry Activity: SMASHING IDOLS

Ask. students to silently consider things in their lives that could be considered idols. If you used the “First Things First@ table, they can refer to it now. Encourage them to spend time in prayer, asking God to help them in these areas, restoring God to His rightful place in their lives.

Invitation Option: MAKING THE ONLY GOD YOUR GOD

As you close, invite those who have not made God the Forgiver of their lives and the Leader of their lives to do so now.

Teacher Hint: Ask yourself…

1. Do students understand why they should put God first?
2. Can students explain how material things, activities, or other people can become idols?
3. Have students had a chance to consider what things in their lives could be considered idols?

Daily Dew Drop

Mon: One God – Isaiah 45:18
Tue: None Besides Him – Deut 4:35; 1 Sam 2:2
Wed: Honour His Authority – Isaiah 25:1

Homosexuality: A Distortion Of God’s Gift. AG Teen Manual.

TEXT: Gen 19:1-9, 12-13, 24-25; Lev 18:22: Mark 10:6-8; Rom 1:24-27, 32; 1 Cor 6:9-11: Eph 2:1-7; Jude 7

KEY VERSE: 1 Corinthians 6:9-11
Do not be deceived: Neither…male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders…will inherit the kingdom of God. And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God. (NIV)

Focus

It can be confusing for teenagers to know how to react to homosexuality. The teens in your class probably hear from every side varied opinions on homosexuality -ranging from total acceptance of the lifestyle to complete repulsion. Some of them may actually be finding it difficult to sift through all the different messages to determine the truth and how they are to respond to it.

This study explains why Christians believe that homosexuality is a sin and how to respond to it in a way that brings glory to God. Teens need to know that although homosexuality is not a part of God’s plan for human sexuality, there is hope and freedom in Christ for those involved in homosexuality. As you prepare for this study, ask God to help you set a good example in your attitudes and actions toward these people who need Jesus.

The Basic Message: Explain to students…

WHAT’S THE BIG IDEA?
Freedom from homosexuality can be found through Jesus Christ.

WHY DOES IT MATTER?
Homosexuality is sin because it distorts God’s original plan for sexuality.

• HOW DOILIVE IT?
Realize that homosexuality is a sin, and help to restore those involved in the homosexual lifestyle by showing God’s love to them.

Activity Option: TRUE OR FALSE?

Read the following statements and have students point out the ones that are true and the ones that are false:
• God is able to deliver a person from a homosexual lifestyle.
• When God delivers a person from homosexuality, that person will no longer be tempted by lust fora person of the same sex.
• There is no hope for homosexuals to receive forgiveness and have a relationship with God.
Christians and others who oppose homosexuality are homophobic.

Guide: When the students are done, read through the statements and discuss them. Explain that while the Bible clearly states that homosexuality is a sin, it is no better or worse than any other sin in the Bible. God loves all and forgives anyone who asks. Christians should remember this when interacting with people struggling with homosexuality.

Study Overview: Explain that today’s study considers…
• What the Bible says about homosexuality.
• Why Christians consider homosexuality a sin.
• How Christians can restore those involved in homosexuality by showing them God’s love.

Inform and Discuss

a). Homosexuality Twists God’s Plan
Guide: Read or ask a volunteer to read Mark 10:6-8. Explain that God’s original plan for human sexuality involved a man and a woman united in marriage; for He designed humanity with two genders that complement one another in every way.

1. How does homosexuality fit into God’s original plan?

[Hint: Homosexuality is not a part of God’s original plan. Instead, homosexuality twists God’s original intent for sexual activity something that goes against that very plan. While marriage between man and woman is blessed by God, homosexuality is condemned.

Guide: Read or ask volunteers to read Gen 19:1-9. Explain that, as with any sin, people caught up in homosexuality become dominated by their sin, which often leads to other destructive behaviour.

2. Read or ask volunteers to read and summarize Gen 19:12-13, 24-25. How can homosexuality destroy a person physically and spiritually? [Hint: Homosexuality and the promiscuity that usually comes with it can expose a person to STDs and other health problems. Spiritually, homosexuality separates a person from God and can cloud his or her thinking toward Him and salvation.

Note: While homosexuality is the only sin named in the passage above, it is safe to assume that it was not the only sin that was being committed. God’s judgment on the people of Sodom is a foreshadowing of the judgment that will eventually come to all people who violate God’s plan for sexual morality.

3. Read or ask a volunteer to read Jude 6. How should a Christian respond to the fact that homosexuals will be judged for their sin? [Hint: Christians should respond with compassion and prayer for those struggling with the sin of homosexuality. Rather than being judgmental and condemning. Christians should try to share Christ with homosexuals just as they would with anyone else.

Guide: Lead the students in a discussion on why Christians are labeled homophobic or bigoted toward homosexuals. Ask students how this mentality can hurt their witness and what they can do to overcome such stigma.

b). Homosexuality Is Sin
Guide: Explain that the book of Leviticus contained the laws God set to govern the nation of Israel. Although we no longer live under the Law but under grace, the laws of the Old Testament provide insight into God’s perspective on life.

1. Read or ask a volunteer to read and summarize Lev 18:22. Why do you think God dislikes homosexuality? (Hint: This is because homosexuality is an act of rebellion against God’s original plan for human sexuality. He also dislikes it for what it does to people and society.

2. Read or ask a volunteer to read and summarize Rom 1:24-27,32. What the negative effects of homosexuality on people and society? [Hint: Homosexuality can keep people from having a relationship with God. In the society, homosexuality challenges the way people perceive the family unit, devaluing the importance of having a representation of both genders in the parental roles. It can also lead to moral lawlessness.

Note: Homosexuality contains in itself a punishment for the abandonment of God and His ways. It corrupts the values of those involved in it, and often brings them frustration and unhappiness.

c). There’s Hope for the Homosexuals
1. Read or ask a volunteer to read 1 Cor 6:9-11. How does this passage give hope to those who are struggling with the sin of homosexuality? (Hint: A person can be delivered from the sin of homosexuality and restored to purity before God. God offers forgiveness and a new start to anyone who asks for it.

Note: While the sin of homosexuality is clearly condemned, God loves all people. Christian should follow that example and share the message of salvation with the homosexuals.

2. Read or ask volunteers to read Eph 2:1-7. How can a person delivered out of homosexuality be used by God to minister to others? (Hint: Those delivered from homosexuality are a testimony of God’s grace, forgiveness, and transforming power to others who are struggling with homosexuality. Having been there, they can offer special empathy to those who are seeking freedom from their sin.

Guide: Lead the students in a discussion on how Christians can witness to homosexuals in an effective way. Emphasize that, as with any sin, overcoming homosexuality is a spiritual battle.

Involve Them: TRUE OR FALSE? REVISED

Have students review their answers to the Activity Option “TRUE OR FALSE?” to see if any would change any of them. Discuss if and how today’s study might have changed the way the students view homosexuality and those involved in homosexuality.

Inspire Them: Remind students THE BASIC MESSAGE of this study (pg 48), explaining WHAT the Big Idea behind the study is; WHY it matters; and HOW we can live the lesson captured in this study.

Ministry Activity: TIME OF REFLECTION

Today’s gay and lesbian movement is nothing new. Some people in the Early Church were homosexuals before they encountered Jesus. But once they became Christians, the sins of the past had no control over their lives. They were cleansed from the things that had separated them from God (1Cor 6:9-11; Eph 2:1-7). God still has the power to set homosexuals free from sin; nothing is too difficult for Him. Lead your students in prayer for the deliverance of those struggling with the sin of homosexuality. Also pray, asking God to help the students reach out to those struggling with homosexuality and offer them hope and restoration to God.

Teacher Hint: Ask Yourself…

Can the students explain why homosexuality is sin? Do the students understand that there is hope for restoration for people involved in homosexuality?
Are the students inspired to show love to those struggling with homosexuality?

Strategies for Successful Digital Marketing in China

China is a unique market with its own set of challenges and opportunities. To succeed in digital marketing in China, businesses need to understand the local market and tailor their strategies accordingly. Here are some key strategies for successful digital marketing in China.

#1 Localization

Localization is crucial for businesses looking to succeed in China. This means not only translating content into Chinese but also adapting it to local customs and preferences.

For example, businesses should consider using Chinese social media platforms such as WeChat and Weibo, which are more popular in China than Western platforms like Facebook and Twitter. Additionally, businesses should localize their website and mobile app to ensure they are user-friendly for Chinese consumers.

#2 Mobile Marketing

Mobile is king in China, with over 1 billion mobile users. Therefore, businesses need to prioritize mobile marketing in their digital strategy.

This includes creating mobile-friendly content and optimizing their website and app for mobile devices. Businesses should also consider leveraging mobile payment options, such as Alipay and WeChat Pay, which are widely used in China.

#3 Content Marketing

Content marketing is an effective way to engage with Chinese consumers and build brand awareness.

However, businesses need to create content that resonates with local audiences. This includes using Chinese social media platforms to distribute content, creating content that speaks to local trends and preferences, and leveraging key opinion leaders (KOLs) to promote their brand.

Challenges in China’s Digital Marketing

China’s digital landscape has unique challenges that can make it difficult for businesses to achieve success. Here are some of the biggest challenges facing digital marketers in China:

#1 Language and Cultural Barriers

One of the biggest challenges for international businesses looking to market in China is the language barrier.

Chinese consumers prefer to consume content in their native language, and the vast majority of them do not speak English. This means that businesses must create content in Mandarin Chinese to effectively reach their target audience.

Cultural differences can also pose a challenge for businesses looking to market in China. Understanding Chinese culture and values is crucial for creating effective marketing campaigns that resonate with Chinese consumers.

#2 Government Regulations

China’s government regulates the internet and social media platforms, which can make it difficult for businesses to effectively market their products and services.

The government has strict rules regarding what content can be published online, and businesses must ensure that their marketing campaigns comply with these regulations.

#3 Fierce Competition

China’s digital marketing landscape is incredibly competitive, with both domestic and international businesses vying for the attention of Chinese consumers.

This means that businesses must work hard to differentiate themselves from their competitors and create marketing campaigns that stand out.

#4 Fragmented Market

China’s digital marketing landscape is highly fragmented, with a variety of different platforms and channels available for businesses to use.

This can make it difficult for businesses to effectively target their audience and reach them with their marketing campaigns.

#5 Lack of Trust

Chinese consumers are notoriously skeptical of advertising, and many are hesitant to trust marketing messages. This means that businesses must work hard to build trust with their target audience and create marketing campaigns that are authentic and genuine.

Overall, China’s digital marketing landscape presents unique challenges that businesses must navigate in order to achieve success.

By understanding these challenges and developing effective strategies to overcome them, businesses can effectively market their products and services to Chinese consumers.

How to do digital marketing in China?
When it comes to digital marketing in China, there are several things to keep in mind to ensure success. Here are some tips to help you navigate the unique landscape of Chinese digital marketing:

#1  Understand the Chinese market

Before launching a digital marketing campaign in China, it’s important to understand the market.

The Chinese market is different from the Western market in many ways, including consumer behavior, cultural values, and government regulations. Brands that succeed in China are those that take the time to understand these differences and tailor their marketing strategies accordingly.

#2 Choose the right platforms

China has a unique digital ecosystem, with many platforms that are not available in the West.

To succeed in Chinese digital marketing, it’s important to choose the right platforms for your brand.

For example, WeChat is the most popular social media platform in China, with over 1 billion monthly active users. Brands that want to reach Chinese consumers should consider using WeChat to engage with their target audience.

#3  Localize your content

To succeed in Chinese digital marketing, it’s important to localize your content. This means adapting your messaging and branding to resonate with Chinese consumers.

Digital Marketing vs Mobile Marketing: Understanding the Key Differences

Digital marketing and mobile marketing are both important aspects of a successful marketing strategy.

While they share similarities, there are also significant differences between the two. Digital marketing refers to any type of marketing that uses digital channels, such as email, social media, search engines, and websites, to promote a product or service. Mobile marketing, on the other hand, is a subset of digital marketing that specifically targets users on their mobile devices.

One of the most significant differences between digital and mobile marketing is the way in which users interact with the content. While digital marketing can be accessed through a variety of devices, including desktop computers and laptops, mobile marketing is designed specifically for mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets.

This means that mobile marketing must take into account the unique characteristics of mobile devices, such as smaller screens and touch-based interfaces.

Another key difference between digital and mobile marketing is the way in which users consume content. Mobile users tend to browse and consume content differently than desktop users, often using apps instead of traditional web browsers.

As a result, mobile marketing campaigns must be optimized for mobile devices and tailored to the specific needs and preferences of mobile users. By understanding the differences between digital and mobile marketing, businesses can develop more effective marketing strategies that reach their target audience in the most effective way possible.

Is mobile marketing a form of digital marketing?

Mobile marketing is a component of digital marketing that targets customers who access information through mobile devices. While mobile marketing is technically a part of digital marketing, it has quickly risen to become the largest component and is frequently given its own team who work separately from others in the marketing department.

Digital marketing, on the other hand, refers to all marketing efforts that occur on the Internet. It encompasses a wide range of strategies and channels, including search engines, social media, email, display advertising, and more.

Mobile marketing can be seen as a subset of digital marketing that focuses specifically on reaching consumers through mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets. With the increasing use of mobile devices for online activities, mobile marketing has become an essential part of any digital marketing strategy.

One of the key differences between mobile marketing and other forms of digital marketing is the unique challenges and opportunities it presents. For example, mobile devices have smaller screens and limited attention spans, which means that mobile marketing messages need to be concise and attention-grabbing.

Additionally, mobile marketing can leverage technologies such as location-based targeting and push notifications to deliver highly personalized and relevant messages to consumers.

What are the 3 Disadvantages of Mobile Marketing?

While mobile marketing has many advantages, there are also some drawbacks to consider. Here are three disadvantages of mobile marketing:

#1 Limited Screen Size

One of the biggest challenges of mobile marketing is the limited screen size of mobile devices. This can make it difficult to create effective ads that are both visually appealing and informative. It also means that mobile ads may need to be shorter and simpler than ads designed for desktop or laptop screens.

#2  Privacy Concerns

Another potential disadvantage of mobile marketing is privacy concerns. Mobile devices are highly personal, and users may not want to receive marketing messages that feel intrusive or invasive. This can lead to negative associations with your brand and decreased engagement with your marketing efforts.

#3 Technical Limitations

Finally, mobile marketing is subject to a number of technical limitations that can impact its effectiveness.

For example, slow internet speeds, limited battery life, and outdated operating systems can all make it difficult for users to engage with your marketing messages. Additionally, not all mobile devices are created equal, which means that your marketing messages may not display or function properly on all devices.

What Are Examples of Mobile Marketing?

Mobile marketing is a digital marketing strategy that targets users on their mobile devices. It utilizes various channels, including SMS, MMS, push notifications, mobile apps, and mobile websites, to reach and engage with potential customers. Here are some examples of mobile marketing:

#1 SMS and MMS Marketing

SMS (Short Message Service) and MMS (Multimedia Messaging Service) are two of the most popular forms of mobile marketing.

SMS messages are text-based, while MMS messages can include multimedia elements such as images, videos, and audio. Marketers can use SMS and MMS messages to send promotional offers, coupons, and other targeted messages to their customers.

#2  Mobile App Marketing

Mobile apps are a powerful tool for mobile marketing. Marketers can use mobile apps to engage with their customers, provide them with personalized content, and offer them exclusive deals and promotions. They can also use push notifications to send targeted messages to app users.

#3 Mobile Web Marketing

Mobile web marketing involves optimizing websites for mobile devices. Marketers can use responsive design, mobile-specific content, and mobile-friendly navigation to create a seamless mobile web experience for their customers. They can also use location-based targeting to deliver relevant content and offers to users based on their location.

#4 Mobile Advertising

Mobile advertising involves placing ads on mobile devices. Marketers can use mobile display ads, in-app ads, and mobile search ads to reach potential customers on their mobile devices. They can also use mobile retargeting to reach users who have previously interacted with their brand on mobile devices.

Note, mobile marketing offers a range of opportunities for marketers to reach and engage with customers on their mobile devices. By leveraging various mobile channels and strategies, marketers can create personalized, targeted, and effective mobile marketing campaigns.

Digital Marketing vs Mobile Marketing Examples

Digital marketing and mobile marketing are two different approaches to reaching customers through online channels. While digital marketing encompasses all forms of online marketing, including email marketing, social media marketing, and search engine optimization, mobile marketing focuses specifically on marketing to customers through their mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets.

One example of digital marketing is email marketing. Companies use email marketing to communicate with customers, promote products, and build brand awareness. Email marketing campaigns can include newsletters, promotional emails, and transactional emails.

Digital marketers can use email marketing to target specific customer segments and track the effectiveness of their campaigns through open rates, click-through rates, and conversion rates.

Another example of digital marketing is social media marketing. Social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram provide companies with a way to reach customers and promote their brands through targeted advertising, influencer partnerships, and organic content.

Digital marketers can use social media analytics to track engagement, reach, and conversions to optimize their social media marketing strategies.

Mobile marketing, on the other hand, focuses on marketing to customers through their mobile devices. One example of mobile marketing is SMS marketing. Companies can use SMS marketing to send promotional messages, coupons, and alerts directly to customers’ mobile devices. SMS marketing can be highly effective because it has a high open rate and can reach customers wherever they are.

Another example of mobile marketing is mobile app marketing. Companies can use mobile apps to promote their brands and products, provide customer service, and offer exclusive deals and promotions. Mobile app marketing can be highly effective because it allows companies to engage with customers in a personalized way and track user behavior to optimize their marketing strategies.

You should know that both digital marketing and mobile marketing have their own unique strengths and weaknesses.

Digital marketing provides a wide range of channels and strategies for reaching customers online, while mobile marketing provides a more targeted approach to reaching customers through their mobile devices. Companies need to carefully consider their marketing goals and target audience to determine which approach is best for them.

Conclusion

In summary, digital marketing and mobile marketing are two distinct marketing strategies that can help businesses reach their target audience. While both strategies share some similarities, there are also significant differences between them.

Digital marketing involves using various digital channels such as email, social media, search engines, websites, and mobile apps to promote a brand or product. It is a comprehensive strategy that covers a wide range of channels and tactics to reach customers.

On the other hand, mobile marketing is a component of digital marketing that targets customers who access information through mobile devices. It focuses specifically on mobile channels such as mobile apps, mobile websites, and SMS to reach customers.

One of the significant advantages of mobile marketing is its ability to target customers with location-based advertising, which can be highly effective in driving foot traffic to physical stores. However, digital marketing provides a more comprehensive approach that covers a wider range of channels, making it more versatile.

Ultimately, the choice between digital marketing and mobile marketing will depend on the specific needs and goals of a business. Both strategies have their advantages and disadvantages, and it is essential to consider these factors carefully before deciding which approach to take.

Digital Marketing Tools

Performance Metrics in Digital Marketing
Digital marketing is a constantly evolving field, and it can be challenging to measure the effectiveness of campaigns. However, by using performance metrics, digital marketers can gain valuable insights into the success of their efforts. In this section, we will discuss two important sub-sections of performance metrics in digital marketing: key performance indicators (KPIs) and return on investment (ROI).

A. Key Performance Indicators

KPIs are metrics that are used to measure the success of a particular campaign or strategy. They help digital marketers understand how well their efforts are performing and whether they are meeting their goals. Some common KPIs in digital marketing include:

– Website traffic: This measures the number of visitors to a website. It can help digital marketers understand how well their website is performing and whether their content is resonating with their target audience.

– Conversion rate: This measures the percentage of website visitors who take a desired action, such as making a purchase or filling out a form. It can help digital marketers understand how well their website is converting visitors into customers.

– Click-through rate (CTR): This measures the percentage of people who click on a link in an email or ad. It can help digital marketers understand how well their messaging is resonating with their target audience.

Social media engagement: This measures the number of likes, comments, and shares a social media post receives. It can help digital marketers understand how well their content is resonating with their followers.

By tracking KPIs, digital marketers can make data-driven decisions about their campaigns and adjust their strategies as needed.

B. Return on Investment

ROI is a measure of the profitability of a particular campaign or strategy. It helps digital marketers understand whether their efforts are generating a positive return and whether they are worth the investment. To calculate ROI, digital marketers need to know the cost of their campaign and the revenue generated as a result.

For example, if a digital marketing campaign costs $10,000 and generates $20,000 in revenue, the ROI would be 100%. This means that for every dollar invested in the campaign, two dollars were generated in revenue.

By tracking ROI, digital marketers can make informed decisions about where to allocate their resources and which campaigns are worth investing in.

In conclusion, performance metrics are crucial for measuring the success of digital marketing campaigns. By tracking KPIs and ROI, digital marketers can gain valuable insights into the effectiveness of their efforts and make data-driven decisions about their strategies.

Quiz Rules and Guidelines

When it comes to digital marketing quizzes, there are certain rules and guidelines that should be followed to ensure a fair and enjoyable experience for all participants. Here are some of the most important ones:

#1 No Cheating

It goes without saying that cheating is not allowed in any quiz. Participants are expected to answer the questions honestly and to the best of their abilities. Any attempt to cheat, whether by using outside resources or collaborating with others, will result in disqualification.

#2 Time Limit

Most digital marketing quizzes have a time limit, which means that participants need to answer all the questions within a certain amount of time. It is important to keep an eye on the clock and to pace oneself accordingly. If a participant runs out of time, their quiz will be automatically submitted and they will not be able to go back and change their answers.

#3 One Attempt

In most cases, participants are only allowed to take the quiz once. This means that they need to make sure they are ready to take the quiz before they start. Once the quiz has been submitted, there is no going back.

#4  Answer All Questions

Participants are expected to answer all the questions in the quiz. Leaving questions unanswered will result in a lower score. Even if a participant is unsure of the answer, it is better to make an educated guess than to leave the question blank.

#5 Follow Instructions

Finally, it is important to follow the instructions provided by the quiz organizer. This includes things like not refreshing the page during the quiz, not using the back button, and not using any outside resources. By following the instructions, participants can ensure that their quiz experience is smooth and hassle-free.

Overall, digital marketing quizzes can be a fun and educational way to test one’s knowledge of the industry. By following these rules and guidelines, participants can ensure that they get the most out of their quiz experience.

The Omnipresence Of God. RCCG Sunday School Manual.

TOPIC: The Omnipresence Of God

MEMORY VERSE: “Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.” – Hebrews 4:13 (KJV)

BIBLE PASSAGE: Psalms 139:7-12 (KJV)

7 Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence?

8 If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there.

9 If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea;

10 Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me.

11 If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light about me.

12 Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to thee.

LESSON INTRODUCTION

Even though we know that God’s presence is in some sense uniquely in Heaven (Isaiah 66:1), the teachings of Scripture also make it clear that God is omnipresent (present everywhere at the same time). From the beginning of Scripture, we see the presence of God hovering over the earth, even when it was still formless and empty (Genesis 1:2). God filled the world with His creation, and His presence and glory continue to inhabit the whole earth (Numbers 14:21).

LESSON OUTLINES:

  1. Biblical Evidence
  2. Always With Us

1. BIBLICAL EVIDENCE

There are many examples throughout Scripture of God’s presence moving on the earth, interacting with His creation. For instance, Adam and Eve acknowledged the presence of God in the Garden of Eden (Genesis 3:8); God walked in the camp of the Israelites (Deuteronomy 23:14). Hebrews 4:13 says, Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do. Jeremiah 23:24 exclaims, Can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him? saith the LORD. Do not I fill heaven and earth? saith the LORD.

CLASS ACTIVITY 1: Students should mention instances in the Bible where secret actions or thoughts of men were not hidden from God.

2. ALWAYS WITH US

If you are a believer in Jesus Christ, God is with you, beside you, above you, and inside you (Genesis 28:15). God’s presence and watchful care never leave you (Hebrews 13:5b). If you are not a believer in Jesus Christ, God is right in front of you, inviting you, drawing you, offering you the love, mercy, and grace that He longs to give you (Revelation 3:20). A better question than “Where is God?” is “Where are you, in relationship to God?” (Genesis 3:8-9). A sinner cannot hide from God and everything that is done in the secret is open before God because He is everywhere (Psalms 51:3; 139:7).

God’s presence is always with us whenever we witness Christ to the world (Matthew 28:19-20). Even when we do not feel God’s presence amid our pain, we can be assured that He will never leave us nor forsake us (Isaiah 43:2). God was with the three Hebrew boys in the fiery furnace (Daniel 3:21-25). God is always with us (Matthew 1:23).

  1. Mention three biblical pieces of evidence of the presence of God on earth.
  2. How do believers know that God is with them?

The Omnipresence Of God. RCCG Sunday School Teachers

Topic: The Omnipresence of God

OPENING PRAYER: Dear Lord, open my heart to understand your omnipresent nature.

PREVIOUS KNOWLEDGE:

(ii) Teachers and students should thank God for His unfailing mercies and faithfulness throughout the Sunday School Year 2022/2023.
(iii) Teachers should encourage students to be steadfast, regular, and punctual to the Sunday school throughout the year.

9 If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea;

LESSON INTRODUCTION: Even though we know that God’s presence is in some sense uniquely in Heaven (Isaiah 66:1), the teachings of Scripture also make it clear that God is omnipresent (present everywhere at the same time). From the beginning of Scripture, we see the presence of God hovering over the earth, even when it was still formless and empty (Genesis 1:2). God filled the world with His creation, and His presence and glory continue to inhabit the whole earth (Numbers 14:21).

TEACHER’S DIARY

LESSON AIM: To teach the church, about the omnipresent attribute of God.

TEACHING OBJECTIVES: Through this lesson, students should be able to:

a.Understand that God can be in heaven and, many places simultaneously.
b.Know instances where God’s omnipresence is demonstrated in the Bible
c. Understand that God’s presence is with His children always

TEACHING PLAN: To achieve the above-stated objectives, the teacher should:

a.Allow the students to recite the memory verse, read the Bible passage, contribute to the discussion, and do class activities and assignments.
b.Allow the Assistant Teacher to see to the well-being of the class, and mark attendance and assignments.
c.Teach the lesson outlines, summarise, conclude, evaluate the lesson, and give assignments.

TEXT REVIEW: Psalm 139:7-12.

The Psalmist, giving an insight into the omnipresent nature of God, highlights as follows:
i. Whither shall I go from thy spirit? Or whither shall I flee from thy presence? V7.
ii. If I ascend ..……………………………………………V8.
iii. If I make ………………….…………….………………V9.
iv. Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me.V10.
v. If I say, ……………………………………………V11.
vi. Yea, the darkness ………………………….V12.

  • Teachers should fill in the gaps from the passage during the preview exercise.

LESSON OUTLINES:

  1. Biblical Evidence
  2. Always With Us

1. BIBLICAL EVIDENCE

A. Throughout the Scripture, there are many examples of God’s presence moving on the earth, interacting with His creation.

B. For instance:
i. Adam and Eve acknowledged the presence of God in the Garden of Eden (Genesis 3:8).
ii. God walked in the camp of the Israelites (Deuteronomy 23:14).
iii. Hebrews 4:13 says, “Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.”
iv. Jeremiah 23:24 exclaims, “Can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him? saith the LORD. Do not I fill heaven and earth? saith the LORD.”

CLASS ACTIVITY 1: Students should mention instances in the Bible where secret actions or thoughts of men were not hidden from God.

2. ALWAYS WITH US

A. If you are a believer in Jesus Christ:
i. God is with you, beside you, above you, and inside you (Genesis 28:15).
ii. God’s presence and watchful care never leave you (Hebrews 13:5b).

B. If you are not a believer in Jesus Christ:
i. God is right in front of you, inviting you and drawing you.
ii. God is offering you the love, mercy, and grace that He longs to give you (Revelation 3:20).
iii. A better question than “Where is God?” is “Where are you, in relationship to God?” (Genesis 3:8-9).
iv. A sinner cannot hide from God and everything done in the secret is open before God because God is everywhere (Psalms 51:3; 139:7).

C. God’s presence is always with us:
i. Whenever we witness Christ to the world (Matthew 28:19-20).
ii. Even when we do not feel God’s presence amid our pain.
iii. So, we can be assured that He will never leave us nor forsake us (Isaiah 43:2).
