RCCG SOD Year Six: Preparing For Miracles

RCCG SOD Year Six: Preparing For Miracles

The human flesh is like rubber. If you keep it too long near fire, it will begin to melt. That is why when God gives anointing to people, he makes it in small doses so that the body will not just dissolve. I remember one night when I ministered all night during the convention under very high anointing. Throughout the following day, my body was like rubber. I could not even get up from bed. It was only towards the evening time when it was time for Holy Communion that I was able to manage to get out of bed.

How To Charge Your Spiritual Battery

When you are charging a battery n preparation for use, it has to stay in one place apparently out of action for a period of time but its connected to electricity and it is being charged. Anybody looking at the battery will say it is idle but it is being loaded with power.

Now if it does not stay long enough, when you put it into use, it will not even function. Alternatively, it may run down quickly. So when God wants to use a man or a person for a miraculous ministry, He will take him apart for battery charging. He will take him away from where people will see him and charge him.

Examples

#1 Moses

Because God wanted to use him for forty years, He took him aside for forty years. According to Exodus 3:1, God put Moses in the backside of the desert for forty years.

#2 Elijah

Because God wanted to use this man to bring down fire from Heaven, to call down rain and raise the dead, He isolated him beside a brook for several months, according to 1Kings 17:1-7, And again after that, He locked him up in the house of a widow for years, according to 1 Kings 17:8-15.

And then you will remember the time when he was calling down fire on soldiers in 2 Kings 1:1-15, He was on the hilltop. What was he doing there? He was recharging his battery.

#3 Elisha

In 2 Kings 4:25-27, he was on the hilltop before he raised the dead son of the Shunamite woman. What was he doing there? He was charging his battery.

#4 Lord Jesus

  1. Our great example is the Lord Jesus himself. If you read Mathew 4:1-11. before he began His Ministry at all, He was in the wilderness for forty days and forty nights.

Fasting and praying for forty days and forty nights, alone in the wilderness, charging His battery.

What was the result? Luke 4:14 says:

“And Jesus returned in the power of the spirit into Galilee, and there went out a fame of Him through all the region round about”.

He had already charged His battery for forty days and forty nights so He returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee fully charged.

2. In Luke 6:12-13. Before He chose the twelve Apostles, He prayed all night. All night He was charging His battery. Even after the forty days of charging in the wilderness, He fasted and prayed again throughout the night before He chose those who were going to assist Him.

3. If we look at Matthew 14:13-21 before Jesus Christ fed those five thousand people, He had gone to a deserted place to recharge. You will see some men of God performing miracles and you say, I also want to do this. Do you know what they have done in secret? You might say, “Ah, how come he just prayed for one minute and miracles are happening? He waved his hands and so many people were healed”. What about the secret work he has done? What about the time he spent charging his battery?

4. In Matthew 14:22-36. the Bible tells us, athat s soon as He fed those five thousand, He told His disciples “You get into a boat and begin to go”. And where did He go? He went alone to the mountaintop. He knew He had used part of his battery to multiply the loaves of bread and fish. He went to the mountain again to recharge. The Bible says that He was all the time praying when all the boats left. He was there charging His battery and when the battery was fully charged, He came down and He was able to work on water. When He arrived on the other side, he started healing multitudes, setting captives free, because He had first of all gone to the mountain to recharge.

5. In Mark 1:35-39, before the Ministry of our Lord Jesus Christ spread through Galilee, He first went to a solitary place to recharge.

6. He also recharged hen He was about to go to the Cross in Luke 9: 29-31, He saw the death that was coming very soon and He must die in order to save our souls. This was the biggest part of His ministry. What did he do? He went alone to the mountain to pray and to recharge.

7. In Matthew 26:36-46, He knew that very soon Judas would arrive and there would be beating, there would be spitting, there would be crowns of thorns, there would be nailing on the cross. He found that this was going to make a lot of spiritual energy. What did he do? He went to the Garden of Gethsemane. He prayed the first time, then came to see the disciples but they were sleeping. He went back to recharge, came back again and saw them still sleeping. He said “I think I better recharge again” He recharged three times before He said “Well now I think am ready”.

Now brethren, according to John 5:30, Jesus said,

“I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just: because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me”.

Jesus said, “I, of my self, can do nothing”. That is our LORD Jesus saying unless He has the backing of His Father, unless His battery is charged by His father, He would not be able to do anything.

If that is true of the Lord Jesus Christ, it is true of you too as disciples. If the Almighty Jesus needed to recharge His battery again and again and again, what excuse will you have for not recharging your own again and again?

The Bible says the servant cannot be greater than His master. Will you begin to charge your battery now and do it everytime, because God is going to use you to work miracles and your battery will run down fast if you dont charge and recharge.

Go to the Lord now and do a little charging.

PREVIOUS KNOWLEDGE: The teacher should review the previous week’s lesson.

MEMORY VERSE: “Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.” – 3 John 2 (KJV)

BIBLE PASSAGE: 1 Thessalonians 5:21-23 (KJV)

23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

LESSON INTRODUCTION: Some Christians have grown with the idea that it is better to focus on spiritual life than anything else in this world since it is the soul that journeys to eternity. This belief has made them concentrate more on spirituality at the expense of other functional aspects of their lives. However, the scripture makes it clear that we should live a balanced life (3 John 2). In this lesson, we shall consider some of the areas believers need to create a balance and the attendant benefits.

LESSON AIM: To teach the church about a wholesome Christian life.

TEACHING OBJECTIVES: Through the lesson, students should be able to:

  • Understand what a wholesome Christian life is.
  • Know its basics.
  • Understand its benefits.

TEACHING PLAN: To achieve the above-stated objectives, teachers should:

a. Allow the students to read  the Bible passage, recite the memory verse, participate in the class activities and do the assignment.

b. Allow the Assistant teacher to conduct the class, mark attendance and assignment, grade performance and close the class session with the closing prayer.

c. Lead the opening prayer, review the previous week’s lesson, teach the lesson outline, summarize, conclude, evaluate the lesson and give assignments to the students.

TEXT REVIEW: 1 Thessalonians 5:21-23.

To live a wholesome Christian life, the Apostle Paul in his epistle to the Thessalonians:

A. Admonishes believers to:

i. Prove all things; …………………….. ..V21.

ii. …………….………………………………………V22.

B. He prayed that

i. ……………………………………………….. ……V23a.

ii. ………………………………………………..V23b.

LESSON OUTLINES:

  1. THE FOUNDATION
  2. THE BENEFITS

1. THE FOUNDATION

Our faith in God should be demonstrated in the following ways, among others:

  1. Willingness to obey His word totally (Proverbs 3:5-7).
  2. Family and relationships are vital and should be cherished. Therefore, make good and godly friends (Proverbs 17:17).
  3. The people in our lives and relationships are important: they should be valued and esteemed appropriately (1 Timothy 5:8; Galatians 6:10; Proverbs 18:24a).
  4. Being a good steward over our finances takes a lot of discipline (Luke 16:10-12).

The Cost Of Discipleship. RCCG Sunday School Teachers

OPENING PRAYER: Father, let me understand what it takes to be a Disciple.

PREVIOUS KNOWLEDGE: The teacher should allow the Assistant teacher to review the lesson for the previous week.

MEMORY VERSE: “He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.” – 1 John 2:6. (KJV)

 BIBLE PASSAGE: Luke 9:57-62 (KJV)

57 And it came to pass, that, as they went in the way, a certain man said unto him, Lord, I will follow thee whithersoever thou goest.

58 And Jesus said unto him, Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head.

59 And he said unto another, Follow me. But he said, Lord, suffer me first to go and bury my father.

60 Jesus said unto him, Let the dead bury their dead: but go thou and preach the kingdom of God.

61 And another also said, Lord, I will follow thee; but let me first go bid them farewell, which are at home at my house.

62 And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.

LESSON INTRODUCTION: The term “disciple” originally meant a pupil or an apprentice to a teacher or master craftsman. It is another word for a follower of Christ, one who is learning to be like his Master (Matthew 16:24; 1 Peter 2:21-22). Discipline is the quality of being able to behave and work in a controlled way which involves obeying specific rules. We shall examine what a disciple’s attitude to sin should be and the key disciplines of true disciples.

LESSON AIM: To teach believers what it costs to be a disciple.

TEACHING OBJECTIVES:

At the end of the study, students should be able to:

TEACHING PLAN: To achieve the above-stated objectives, the teacher should:

a. Allow the students to recite the memory verse, read  the Bible passage, contribute to the discussion, and do class activities and assignments.

b. Allow the Assistant Teacher to see to the well-being of the class, and mark attendance and assignment.

c. Teach the lesson outline, summarize, conclude, evaluate the lesson and give assignments.

TEXT REVIEW: Luke 9:57-62.

A. The Lord Jesus recounts the cost of discipleship (because many love to follow Him but are not ready to pay the price).

i. It happened that as they were going in the way, he came to Him and said he would follow Him wherever He went V57.

ii. And Jesus said ………………………………V58.

iii. And he says to another …………………V59.

iv. Jesus saith unto him ……….…………..V60.

v. And another also said ……………………V61.

vi. Jesus then said to Him ……..…………V62.

LESSON OUTLINES:

  1. A DISCIPLE’S ATTRIBUTE
  2. KEY DISCIPLINES

1. A DISCIPLE’S ATTRIBUTE

  1. The starting point in following Jesus’ exemplary life is the forgiveness of sin and reconciliation with God through Jesus’ death.
  2. Then, a disciple of Jesus enters a life-long learning process to live the same life as Jesus lived (Luke 6:40). Just as their Master, the disciples of Christ must:

i. Commit to doing all of God’s will while giving up their own will (Luke 22:42);

ii. Live a sin-free life and overcome lust (Galatians 5:24); be willing to suffer (Philippians 1:29);

iii. Love unconditionally in the face of adversity (Matthew 5:43-45);

iv. Be diligent and zealous for the things of God (Hebrews 6:10-11);

v. Have a burden for soul winning (Acts 4:16-20);

vi. Live sacrificially (2 Corinthians 12:15);

vii. Remain humble and obedient (Philippians 2:5-8).

CLASS ACTIVITY 1: What other attributes do you think a disciple should have?

2. KEY DISCIPLINES

Anyone who will follow the examples of Jesus successfully must be disciplined because discipline is the hallmark of success. Some of the key disciplines every disciple of Christ must have are:

  1. Purposefulness: Concentration is the secret of power. The first discipline of discipleship is to be purposeful, determined, single-minded, and focused in the pursuit of the Lord and His kingdom (Philippians 3:13; Matthew 6:24).
  2. Perseverance: Like our Master, Jesus; Disciples must stay focused on the task and avoid distractions. Be persistent in proclaiming the word at all times, and avoid discouragement (Matthew 10:22-23).
  3. Promptness: The ability not to put off for tomorrow what must be done today is a great gift to be sought from God. It is the gift to joyfully run to what God instructs without delay. There is a peril in procrastination (Psalm 95:6-8; Proverbs 27:1).
  4. Permanence: When we accepted Christ, there were some things we used to do that we have no business doing now. Things like: harmful habits, ruinous relationships, perilous pleasures, etc. We need to give up our former ways and not look back (Hebrews 12:1-2; Luke 9:58-62).

CLASS ACTIVITY 2: Mention additional key disciplines of a disciple.

CONCLUSION: The role of every disciple is to stay committed and true to the Master. This will lead to great success.

QUESTIONS:

  1. Mention three attributes of a disciple.
  2. What are the key disciplines of a disciple?

EVALUATION: Students should mention three attributes of a disciple.

CLOSING PRAYER: Father, please keep me as Your true disciple till the end.

ASSIGNMENT: Mention five benefits of discipline (2×5=10 Marks).

PREVIOUS KNOWLEDGE: The teacher should allow the Assistant teacher to review the lesson for the previous week.

MEMORY VERSE: “Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine.” – 2 Timothy 4:2 (KJV)

 BIBLE PASSAGE: Romans 10:13-15 (KJV)

13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?

15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!

LESSON INTRODUCTION: One business that every believer has been called to do is Evangelism (or witnessing (2 Corinthians 5:17-18). It is the act of preaching the gospel to share the message and teachings of Jesus Christ. In simple terms, evangelism on the go is to be busy, active, and innovative with the preaching of the gospel of Jesus. Different channels must be employed to reach the lost with the gospel of salvation. The preaching of the gospel is a serious business assigned to us by the Master. It must be consciously, consistently, and conscientiously done by all believers.

LESSON AIM: To study the significance of evangelism.

TEACHING OBJECTIVES: Through this lesson, students should be able to:

a. Understand that evangelism is the father’s business.
b. Understand that evangelism is also our business too.

TEACHING PLAN:
To attain the above-stated objectives:

A. Students should:
a. Take the opening prayer together.
b. Recite the memory verse.
c. Participate in the class activities.
d. Do the assignment.
e. Take the closing prayer together.

B. The Assistant Teacher should:
a. Review the previous week’s lesson.
b. Take the opening session of the lesson.
c. Conduct the class.

e. Supervise the class activities for the lesson.

C. The teacher should:

TEXT REVIEW: Romans 10:13-15.

The teacher should identify five crucial points related to evangelism from the above  Bible passage.
i. ………………………………………………………
ii. ………………………………………………………
iii. ……….……………………………………………
iv. …………………………………………………….
v. ………………………………………………………

LESSON OUTLINES:

  1. THE FATHER’S BUSINESS
  2. OUR BUSINESS TOO

1 .THE FATHER’S BUSINESS

i. The preaching of the gospel to the lost is so important that Jesus said He was specifically anointed by His Father for it (Luke 4:18).

ii. He also reiterated this point in Luke 4:43 when he said preaching the kingdom of God is a must for Him because that was why He was sent.

iii. God is so particular about the lost that Jesus said it is not His will that they perish (Matthew 18:14).

iv. Jesus also said He came to the world to save the lost (Matthew 18:11).
v. Jesus, in the parable of the lost sheep, depicts the importance of a soul when the shepherd left 99 sheep to go after one lost sheep – soul (Matthew 18:12).

vi. Speaking of how he must preach the gospel, Apostle Paul placed a curse on himself, if he failed to preach the gospel (1 Corinthians 9:16).

vii. He also boldly declared that he was sent to preach the gospel (1 Corinthians 1:17a).

viii. The value of a soul is so much that there is rejoicing in Heaven when one soul repents (Luke 15:7).

CLASS ACTIVITY 1: Every soul is precious to God. Explain.

2. OUR BUSINESS TOO

The teacher should explain the significance of evangelism assignment to believers as indicated below:

IMPORTANCE

i. Preaching the gospel to the lost is a serious occupation Jesus handed to His followers when He gave the command to go in Mark 16:15.

ii. This kingdom business must be done with zeal and divine wisdom (John 4:34; Ecclesiastes 10:10).

iii. It is an all-time trade (Luke 9:60). There is no room for giving up in this occupation of witnessing Jesus (Acts 5:42).

STRATEGY
iv. As a good businessman, you must be strategic, creative and seize every opportunity to talk to people about Jesus (Acts 26:27-29; 1 Corinthians 9:19-23).

v. This business must be done sacrificially. It may not be convenient at times, but you must still go ahead and witness Jesus (2 Timothy 4:2).

vi. As a business is driven by focus, the goal of evangelism is to make Jesus known, and win souls for Him (1 Corinthians 2:2; Romans 1:14-15).

vii. Business owners attract people to themselves; so must you live in such a way that everything you do preaches Jesus to others; live evangelism (Galatians 2:20; 1 Corinthians 11:1).

viii. This business must flourish in your hand as you continue to witness Christ to lost souls (Acts 8:5-6; Daniel 12:3).

ix. A successful business goes beyond a generation. In the same vein, the witness of Christ must go to the next generation (2 Timothy 1:5; 2:2).

x. The God factor is key for a successful business; therefore, intensive prayer is needed for evangelism.

FOCUS
xi. The trademark of this business is Jesus; who is the sole message (Colossians 1:27-28).

URGENCY
xii. Time is of the essence in business, do not delay to preach Jesus to the lost (John 4:35).

CLASS ACTIVITY 2: Why should the following elements/tools be considered very necessary in preaching the gospel?

a. Prayer.
b. Jesus Christ.
c. Time (urgency).

CONCLUSION: Evangelism is a serious kingdom business. Be actively involved.

QUESTIONS

  1. Mention four ways evangelism is the Father’s business.
  2. In three ways, relate conventional business with the business of evangelising.

EVALUATION: How important is the preaching of the gospel to God and believers?

CLOSING PRAYER: Father, please help Your children to be fully involved in the preaching of the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.

ASSIGNMENT: Identify five factors that can make evangelism effective (2×5=10 marks).

  2. THE WAY, THE TRUTH, AND THE LIFE

1. THE MIRACLES JESUS PERFORMED

  1. A miracle is an event that involves the direct and powerful action of God, transcending the ordinary laws of nature and defying common expectations of behaviour.
  2. It is also an extraordinary occurrence that can only be attributed to the supernatural work of God that demonstrates His involvement in human history (Exodus 14:21-22; Joshua 10:12-14).
  3. Many miracles were performed by Jesus as proof that He is God. For instance:

i. He turned water to wine (John 2:7-9), walked on water (Matthew 14:25),

ii. Multiplied a meal (John 6:11-13),

iii. Healed the blind, the lame (John 9:7; Mark 2:3, 11), and the sick (Matthew 9:35; Mark 1:40-42),

iv. He even raised people from the dead (John 11:43-44; Luke 7:13-15).

  1. Christ Himself rose from the dead (Matthew 28:5-7; Acts 10:41).
  2. No other religion can claim the resurrection of its founders.

CLASS ACTIVITY 1:.Share an outstanding miracle you have experienced in your Christian journey with the class.

2. THE WAY, THE TRUTH, AND THE LIFE

A. Jesus used the definite article to distinguish Himself as “the Way, the Truth, and the Life” (John 14:6).

i. A way is a route leading somewhere.

ii. There is no other path to Heaven except Jesus (John 14:1-3; Acts 4:12).

B. Jesus, as the incarnate Word of God (John 1:1) is the source of all truth (John 8:32).

i. According to Psalm 119:142, truth represents the law of God.

ii. Jesus came as the law personified.

iii. When He taught His followers, during the sermon on the mount, He reminded them of the basic points of the law and gave new commands (Matthew 5:21-22, 27-28, 31-32, 33-34, 38-39, 43-44), thereby equating Himself with God as the authoritative standard of righteousness.

iv. Jesus said He came to fulfil the demands of the law and the prophets (Matthew 5:17).

C. Jesus spoke of His authority over life being the source of life (John 10:10b; 14:19).

I. He laid down His life for His ‘sheep,’ and then took it back again (John 10:17-18).

II. He brought true deliverance from a life of bondage to sin and death to a life of victory over sin and freedom in eternity (John 3:15-16; 10:28).

CLASS ACTIVITY 2: Do you believe that Jesus is the only access into the kingdom of heaven or not? Discuss your conviction with the class. (Teachers are to scripturally guide that Jesus is the only access to eternal existence).

CONCLUSION: There is no controversy, Jesus Christ is God. Anyone who disagrees does it at his/her peril.

QUESTIONS:

The Deity Of Jesus. RCCG Sunday School Manual

TOPIC: The Deity Of Jesus

MEMORY VERSE: “And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.” – 1 John 5:20 (KJV)

 BIBLE PASSAGE: John 1:1-5,14 (KJV)

John 1:1-5
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

2 The same was in the beginning with God.

3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.

5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

John 1:14
14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

INTRODUCTION: Generally, a ‘deity’ is a ‘god or goddess’ in a polytheistic religion (belief in many gods). Also, a being of divine status, quality, or nature is referred to as a deity. In the context of the Christian faith, the Deity is the Creator and Supreme Being. The argument about the Deity of Jesus Christ is common among people of other major religions (although they teach that Jesus was a prophet, a good teacher or a godly man). However,  the Bible tells us that Jesus was infinitely more than the three combined (Matthew 16:13-16). Jesus is God. He is Divine.

LESSON OUTLINES:

  1. THE DIVINITY OF JESUS CHRIST
  2. REASONS THAT JESUS IS GOD

1. THE DIVINITY OF JESUS CHRIST

Here are some of the biblical evidences that Jesus is God:

  1. Jesus is a member of the Godhead (Genesis 1:26a) referred to as the Trinity (God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit). The Bible clearly states that the Godhead resides in Jesus Christ bodily (Colossians 2:6-9). God the Father refers to Jesus as God (Hebrews 1:8).
  2. Old Testament prophecies of Christ announce His deity as the mighty God (Isaiah 9:6).
  3. Jesus says in John 10:30 “I and My Father are one” and “before Abraham was, I AM” (John 8:58). Jesus, announcing His identity as “I AM” is a direct application of the Old Testament name for God (Exodus 3:14). Jesus receives worship several times in the Scripture (Matthew 2:11; 28:9; Luke 24:52). He never rebukes people for worshipping Him.
  4. The apostles, through divine inspiration testify that Jesus is God. For instance, John 1:1 says “…the Word was God.” John 1:14 says “And the Word became flesh…” This indicates that Jesus is God in the flesh. Thomas the disciple in John 20:28 declares to Jesus, “My Lord and my God” Jesus did not correct him. Apostle Paul describes Him as, “…the great God and our Saviour, Jesus Christ” (Titus 2:13). Apostle Peter says the same, “…of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ” (2 Peter 1:1).

CLASS ACTIVITY 1: Share with the class any encounter with non-believers who reject the fact that Jesus is God.

2. REASONS THAT JESUS IS GOD

The provision of salvation only works if Jesus is God, hence the divinity of Jesus is the why He is the only way of salvation (Acts 4:12; John 14:6). Jesus is God incarnate, the eternal Alpha and Omega (Revelation 1:8; 22:13). Jesus has the right to forgive sins. This is something only God can do (Acts 5:31; Luke 5:20-24). Jesus will “judge the living and the dead,” (2 Timothy 4:1) and reward all deeds in the flesh (Revelation 22:11-12).

Some titles that uniquely belong to Jehovah (the formal name of God) in the  Old Testament are used for Jesus. For instance, “Redeemer” (Psalms 19:14; 78:35) is used for Jesus in the New Testament (Titus 2:13-14; Revelation 5:9). Jesus is called Emmanuel-“God with us” (Matthew 1:23).

Some actions that can be accomplished only by God are credited to Jesus. For instance, He created and sustains the universe (John 1:3; Colossians 1:16-17). He possesses attributes that only a deity can have: Eternality (John 8:58), Omnipresence (Matthew 18:20, 28:20), Omniscience (Matthew 16:21), and Omnipotence (Luke 7:13-15).

CLASS ACTIVITY 2: Students should distinguish between the biblical explanation of Christ being God (John 1:1-5, 14) and the opinion of people of other religions.

CONCLUSION: Christians should not only believe in the deity of Jesus but must be bold to proclaim and defend it scripturally.

QUESTIONS

  1. Give four  biblical pieces of evidence that Jesus is God.
  2. Explain three reasons Jesus is God.

ASSIGNMENT: Write out five things Jesus did in your life that no man can do. (2×5=10 Marks).

Why The Devil Fear Fellowship Between God and Man. RCCG SOD Year 7

Why The Devil Fear Fellowship Between God and Man

The devil fears fellowship between God and man. why? T Like we said in lesson GAI, God the Father. God the Son and God the Holy Spirit wants to fellowship with you. It is easy to guess why, the devil will not want that to happen. Satan has managed to reduce the fellowship between God and man to mere petition time, a begging session. We now go to the Presence of God when we are in need and we spend the whole time before God saying ‘give me this, give me that’. The devil likes this very much because he knows the moment you come as beggar, you will be treated like a beggar but there is one beautiful thing, we can by the grace of God, go back to fellowship with God and then the devil will be in trouble.

Once upon a time in 1 Samuel 5: 1-3, the Philistines took the Ark of God from the children of Israel. captured it and then took in to the house of their god.

“And the Philistines took the Ark of God, and brought it from Ebenezer unto Ashdod. When the Philistines took the Ark of God, they brought it unto the house of Dagon, and set it by Dagon, and when they of Ashdod arose early in the morrow, behold Dagon was fallen upon his face to the earth before the Ark of God. And they took Dagon and set him back on his place again”.

The Ark of the covenant of God represents the Presenece of God On the cover is the Mercy Seat, on both sides are two facing one another. When the angels face each other, there is unity and God is there. When they turn from each other, there is disunity. God is no more in their midst. Wherever there is unity, God is there, and wherever there is disunity, you can be sure, God is not there. Wherever the Ark of God.is, God is there (Read in Exodus 25: 17-20)

Dagon represents satan, and when the Philistines now took God into the presence of satan, when they woke up the following morning, they found satan lying prostrate. Whenever you begin to fellowship with God, whenever you allow God to come into your home, into your situation, into your life, into your business, whenever you worship God the Father, God the Son and God ne Holy Spirit, in such a way that they begin to stay with you, ay devil that was there before is bound to prostrate.

The reason why many of us are still captives today is because we have not learnt how to fellowship with God correctly. It is because we have spent all the time asking instead of fellowshipping with God correctly. Not only will satan lie prostrate, in fact, he will be broken into pieces.

REASONS WHY SATAN FEARS FELLOWSHIP BETWEEN GOD AND MAN In 1Samuel 5: 4-5. the Bible says.

“And when they arose early on the morrow morning, behold, Dagon was fallen upon his face to thr ground before the Ark of the LORD; and the head of dagon and both the palms of his hands were cut off upon the threshold; only the stump of Dagon was left on him. Therefore, neither the priests of dagon, nor any that come into dagon’s house, tread on the threshold of dagon in Ashdod unto this day.”

When you fellowship with God properly, the presence of God will come down. And when the presence of God comes down, the following will happen:

#1  Satan Will Bow.

They took the Ark of the Covenant of God, and put it in the house of Dagon, and when they woke up the following morning. Dagon has fallen on his face down before the Ark of covenant. They picked him up and put him on his feet again. When they

came the following morning, not only was Dagon fallen on his face, his head was cut off, his hands were cut off, and they discussed and said this cannot be a god.

So when you fellowship with the Almighty God, everything that is satanic in your life will be destroyed.

#2 Your Weakness Will Be Exposed.

As soon as you bring the presence of God into your life, your weaknesses will be exposed, destroyed and replaced by the strength of the Almighty God.

When we talk about the strong holds of the enemy in our lives. we are really talking about our own weaknesses (2Corinthians 10: 3-5). When you bring God in. your weaknesses will be exposed, they will fall flat on their faces and the Almighty God will destroy them.

#3 Your enemies will fade away.

If there are certain demons holding you captive and you are not aware that they are there, you just know that something is wrong, you are not where you are supposed to be, you are not doing things you want to do, you want to work for God but you cannot, you want to live holy and you are failing, what is happening? There must be certain forces hidden. Bring in the Spirit of God, bring in the Almighty God by way of worship and all these hidden forces will vanish.

In 2 Samuel 22:45-47, the Bible says,

“Strangers shall submit themselves unto me; as soon as they hear, they shall be obedient unto me, Strangers shall fade away, and they shall be afraid out of their close places. The LORD liveth; and blessed be my rock; and exalted be the God of the rock of my salvation.”

The Bible says all the strangers, demons, the hidden forces that have been holding you captive, when you bring in the Rock of salvation, they will fade away, they will be frightened out of their closed places. I pray that, that will be your lot today in Jesus name.

4. Your Strength Will Be Renewed In Isaiah 40: 29,31 the Bible says, “He giveth power to the fainth; and to them that have no might He increaseth strength. But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk, and not faint.”

The strength of God will replace your weakness if you bring the presence of God into your life. The bible says, God gives strength to those who have no strength. He will increase the strength of those who are weak. They that wait upon Him will exchange their strength.

#5 God Will Fight Your Battles For You

When you fellowship with God correctly. God will fight your battles for you by bringing problems to the camp of your enemy There will be problems for your enemies. The Ark of the covenant represents the Presence of the Almighty God and when you are fellowshipping with God, you are bringing, as it were, the Ark of the Covenant into your home. And when you bring in the Ark of the covenant of God, there will be problems for your enemies

In 1 Samuel 5: 6-10, the Bible says.

“But the hand of the LORD was heavy upon them of Ashdod, and He destroyed them, and smote them with emerods, even Ashdod and the coasts thereof. And when the men of Ashdod saw that it was so, they said, The Ark of God of Israel shall not abide with us: for his hand is sore upon us, and upon Dagon our god. They sent therefore and gathered all the lords of the Philistines unto them, and said, What shall we do with the Ark of the God of Israel? And they answered, Let the Ark of the God of Israel be carried about unto Gath. And they carried the Ark of the God of Israel about thither. And it was so, that after they had carried it about, the hand of the LORD was against the city with a very great destruction; and he smote the men of the city, both small and great, and they had emerods in their secret parts. Therefore they sent the Ark to Ekron, And it came to pass, as the Ark of God came to Ekron, that

the Ekronites cried out, saying, they have brought the Ark of the God of Israel to us, to stay us and our people.”

The only people who can enjoy when the Ark of God is present are those who belong to God. You are one of His disciples, if you invite Him in. He will bring you joy and blessings and peace But every enemy hidden in your house will cry out and say he has brought in God to destroy us because that is what will happen when you begin to worship God correctly. And when God begins to fellowship with you, then problems will come for your enemies.

#6 Your Enemies Will Be Frightened.

According to 1 Samuel 4:3-8, when the Ark of the covenant was brought back into the camp of the Israelites, they shouted unto God with a loud voice of triumph and the ground shook. and when their enemies heard, they were frightened, they said ‘woe unto us, ah, this God has come again, this is the God that destroyed the Egyptians. He is around again to destroy us Whenever you bring in God through fellowship, you get your enemies frightened because they know trouble is on the way.

#7 Your Enemies Will Be Destroyed

In 1 Samuel 6:19-20, the Bible says,

“And He smote the men of Beth-shemesh, because they looked into the Ark of the LORD, even He smote of the people fifty thousand and threescore and ten men; and the people.

lamented, because the LORD has smitten many of the people with a great slaughter. And the men of Beth-shemesh said, Who is able to stand before this holy LORD God? And to whom shall he go up from us?

Any demon that follows you into the Presence of God by error is finished because the men of Bethshemesh looked into the Ark of God, they did not know the trouble they were asking for and they died by the thousands.

When you go to worship the Almighty God, in fact anytime you have a feeling that, may be there are some demons around you, just begin to worship God, and they will vanish.

They will perish completely. In 2 Chronicles 20: 22-23, when Jehoshaphat was going to war with so many kings arrayed against him and God told him to get the choir singing. The choir began to sing, they began to fellowship with the Almighty God, and the Bible says, it was the enemies that destroyed themselves. The same thing can happen when you begin to worship the Almighty God correctly.

In Acts 16: 25-26, when Paul and Silas began to sing and to praise God. When they began to say, ‘O LORD our God, how excellent is Thy name and then after some time, they became. angry and they changed their song. They began to say. O God. come down and let your enemies be scattered: O God, arise and let your enemies be scattered.’

When they knew God had come down, they changed that song and they began to sing “The LORD reigneth let the earth tremble And very soon there was an earthquake and before they knew it the prisoners were free and the jailer fell down at the feet of the disciples, begging them. They changed their song again and began to sing, ‘In Jesus name every knee shall bow

So you see when you begin to worship God, you can move from being a prisoner to the one who will be controlling the jailer.

#8 There Will Be Multiple Blessings

Finally, you need to know that business is spiritual warfare. particularly for the Christian. The devil knows that if you prosper in your business, you will be able to help the course of the kingdom of Jesus Christ, so he will try as mush as possible to make sure that you don’t prosper. But you can win this war by fellowshipping with the Father the way you should, because in the story we referred to earlier in 2 Chronicles 20:24-26, you will discover that after the enemies of Jehoshaphat destroyed themselves, it took the army of Jehoshaphat three days to carry away the gold, and the silver that they picked from the dead bodies of their enemies.

If you worship God the way you should worship Him, when you take your money to the bank, it will take the accountant, the cashier and everybody, three days to count your money. In other words, when you go to the bank may be once a month.

they will tell every customer that they are sorry, and cannot attend to them until after three days.

Let us learn to worship God correctly. You may not know this, but the devil does. He knows that if you worship God correctly, he cannot stand before you, he cannot stand in your way, he cannot hinder your business.

So let us change our attitude. Let us change our prayers from asking and asking and asking to fellowshipping with God, and since practice makes perfect, how about spending some five minutes now to fellowship with the Father, with the Son and with the Holy Spirit, and your deliverance will begin, and your prosperity will begin.

Go ahead now, fellowship with the Father, and with the Son and with the Holy Ghost.

God bless you.

The Purpose Of The Disciple. Part One. RCCG SOD Year 7

Mark 3:13-15 “And he goeth into a mountain and calleth unto Him whom he would, and they came unto Him. And he ordained twelve, that they should be with him, and that he might send them forth to preach. And to have power to heal sicknesses, and to cast out devils”.

God choose whosoever he wills and He called twelve of them disciples and He said there are certain reasons reason why He has choosen these twelves and the reasons are:

  1. So that they could be with Him. that is, He wanted to have fellowship.
  2. So that he could send them forth to preach, so that they would be His Ambassadors. His forerunners.
  3. So that they might have power to heal sicknesses and diseases an to cast out demons which are part of the work that Jesus Christ himself came to do.

FELLOWSHIP BETWEEN GOD AND MAN

One of the main reasons for the creation of man is God’s desire for fellowship. In Genesis 1:26 , The Bible says:

“And God said , let us make man in our image, after our likeness…”

God said, let us make man in our own image in our likeness, the kind of people who will be like us, so that we can fellowship with them. The Bible tells us , in the garden of Eden. God was always coming coming down in the cool of the day to fellowship with Adam and Eve. Genesis 3:8-9 says:

“And they heard the voice of the LORD walking in the garden in the cool of the day; and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God amongst the tree of the garden . And the Lord God called unto Adam, and said unto Him. Where art thou?”

Before sin came, God has been coming sown to fellowship with them in the cool of the day. As soon as they heard the voice of the Lord in the garden, they would rush to go and meet Him so that their fellowship could begin. On this occasion, they had already sinned, instead of rushing to go and meet God, they ran away from Him. “Adam, where are you? We want fellowship, why are you hiding from Me?”.

God created us in his image so that He can have fellowship with us. Inside of every man is something that longs for fellowship. Nobody really wants to be alone if he is sick. If he is not mentally deranged. Everybody wants fellowship . In fact, it is because of this that God said in Genesis 2:18:

“And he Lord God said , it is not good that the man should be alone; I will make an help meet for him”. God knows the value of fellowship. Nobody is really comfortable alone.

INGREDIENTS OF FELLOWSHIP

When two friends meet , they are sharing fellowship, certain things happen:

  1. Conversation: There will be conversation, a kind of dialogue.
  2. Physical Contact: There will be physical contact like shaking of hands or hugging or if they are that close, for example, husband and wife, there will be kissing.
  3.  Sharing of meals: There will be sharing of meals because when your friend come to visit you, you will want to present something to him. If he meets you while you are eating, if you are true friends , you will just tell him to take his seat. God wants to do the same thing with us. In Revelation 3:20, He said:  “Behold I stand at the door , and knock; if any man hear my voice , and open the door, I will come in to him and will sup with him and he with me.”

When two friends meet to fellowship, they share meals.

4. EXCHANGE OF GIFTS

Now with real feeds, after fellowshipping, there is always an exchange of gifts. When you come to visit your friend, if you come from a very good home, you will not even come empty handed. You will bring something for him no matter how little. It is not the size of the gift that matters: When you are going, your friend also will not let you go empty handed. There is an exchange of gifts.

5. STRENGTHENING OF FELLOWSHIP

There will be strengthening of the fellowship. In Isaiah 40:31 the Bible says, “But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength…”

In the original, the Bible says, They that wait upon the LORD shall exchange their Strength….”

In other words. He will give their weakness to God unit God will give them His strengh

There will be conversation, physical contact sharing of meade and exchange of gifts All these gu on to strengthen the fellowship, or the strengthening of the friendship.

EATING WITH GOD

We may ask the question will God eat out food? We are talking of fellowshipping with God now and we have mentioned sharing of food. Can we when we want to eat say. Father come and join us as we eat Acts 10:41 says,

-Not to all the people, but unto us who did eat and drink with Him after He rose from the dead” Let us see this in Luke 24:36-43 which says.

“And as they thus spake, Jesus himself stood in the midst of them, and saith unto them, peace be unto you. But they were terrified and affrighted, and supposed that they had seen a spirit. And He said unto them, why are ye troubled? and why do thoughts arise in your hearts? behold my hands and my feet, that is I myself: handle me and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones as ye see me have. And when He had thus spoken, He shewed His hands and His feet. And while they yet believed not for joy, and wondered, He said  unto them, have ye here any meat? And they gave Him a piece of a broiled fish, and of an honeycomb. And He eat them. Thus that after Jesus rose up from the dead. He ate bread and fish with the disciples. And if He could eat bread and fish, Lam sure He can eat jollof rice also.

And the reason why children of God are not afraid of food, the reason why true disciples of Jesus Christ cannot bothered by whatever you put in their food is because, they w invite Jesus to join them in the eating and the moment Jesus touches the food any poison there of course will become water Whenever you invite the Almighty God to share your food, you can be sure the food becomes safe. I want you to know that spirit beings can eat human food. There was an occasion here before. There was one young man who could eat the food of eight people. He was brought here because he was demon possessed. There is no amount of food you put before him he could not finish. The interesting thing is that there is no sign in his stomach that he has eaten this food. He was questioned and he said he was not the only one eating the food. poisoned

In any case. I want God to share my food and I am sure you want Him to share your food also. So invite Him in so that. He an have fellowship with you even concerning your food.

INVITATION TO FELLOWSHIP

in Matthew11:26 “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden. and I swift give you rest.

This is an invitation He says come and rest. in John 7:37. One

In the last day that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying. If any man thirst, let him come to me and drink.

This is another invitation from Hom emne and drink

mô to Isaiah 1: 18 the file says. “Come now, and let us reason together…

In other words, He says, come, let us chat. Come and rest. come and drink, come and chat, Invitation to fellowship.

FELLOWSHIP WITH GOD THE FATHER

Psalm 100:4

“Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise, be thankful unto Him and bless His name.”

How do we fellowship with God the Father?

By Thanksgiving and Praises: The Bible tells us that when you are going into fellowship with

God, you are to enter His gates with thanksgiving and enter Hu courts with praise. When you want to fellowship with God the Father, begin with thanksgiving and move on to praise,

2. By Clapping and Shouting:

In Psalm 47: 1. the Bible says,

“O clap your hand, all ye people, shout unto God with the loud voice of triumph.”

You can also fellowship with the Father by clapping, by shouting a real shout of triumph. You have probably seen me from time to time, may be at the Holy Ghost Service or any other major service, after you have been singing and praising God, clapping and dancing, when I come, I add the other elements. I ask somebody to shout Halleluyah. That loud voice of triumph is a sign that we want to fellowship with Daddy

3. By Making a Joyful Noise:

Psalm 100: 1 tells us another way that we can fellowship with Him: Verse I says

“Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands.”

How many people are to make joyful noise unto the Lord? All the lands. This includes the land of Nigeria, that is you and me.

4 By Singing:

The Bible says in Psalm 100: 2.

“Serve the LORD with gladness; come before his presence with singing.”

So we shout, we make a joyful noise unto the Lord. God wants us to come to Him like little children. And any time we want to fellowship with our Father, we should do it with jumping. clapping and dancing like little kids

5. By Kneeling and Bowing Down Before Him:

In Psalm 95: 1-6. the Bible says.

“O come let us sing unto the LORD; let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation. Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving and make a joyful noise unto him with psalms. For the LORD is a great God, and a great King above all gods. In his hands are the deep places of the earth; the strength of the hills is his also. The sea is his and he made it; and his hands formed the dry land.O come let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the LORD our maker.”

The Bible says we should come before the Lord, Yahweh, with a joyful noise, with thanksgiving, at times we kneel down or prostrate before Him in worship and adoration

When we want to fellowship with the Father it could be a noisy affair clapping, singing, praising Him. jumping and shouting. He loves this and that is what every father loves. When children come home on holidays, you know the noise, as we begin to see the children arrive one by one. We shout, we embrace, we jump

The School of Disciples. Year Seven

there is a lot of noise, joyful noise. This is how to fellowship with God the Father.

FELLOWSHIP WITH GOD THE SON

How do we fellowship with God the Son?

1. Be sure of Your Salvation:

In Psalm 116: 12-14, David said.

“What shall I render unto the LORD for all his benefits toward me? I will take the cup of salvation and call upon the name of the LORD. I will pay vows unto the LORD now in the presence of all his people.”

You want to fellowship with God the Son, take the cup of Salvation, and make sure you pay your vows. In other words. he is saying, if you want to fellowship with God the Son, be sure of your salvation, because this is the most crucial thing as far as God the Son is concerned.

Remember His name is Jesus, which means Saviour. Before you fellowship with Him at all, settle the question of your salvation.

2. Pay Your Vows:

If you want to fellowship with God the Son, make sure you pay your vows

3. Call Upon His Names:

Jesus loves names. And when you call His names, the various

names that He has, you will find that He will enjoy fellowshipping with you.

You can call Him the Way, the Truth, the Life, the Good Shepherd, the Bread of Life, the Resurrection and the Life. the Alpha and the Omega, the Word of God, the Son of God, the Son of Man, the Light of the world, the Door, etc.

You will remember each time Jesus introduced Himself. He will introduce Himself by a new name. Each time He is introduced. It will be at least either with one new name or several in one verse of the Bible only. He was called Wonderful, Counsellor, Almighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. (Isaiah 961

If you want to introduce one fellow and you call Him six names ma row, you will know that He love names. When you want to fellowship with Him, be sure of your salvation, call on His names and pay your vows.

4. Meditating On The Word:

Another way by which you can fellowship with Jesus is by studying and memorising the Word of God

Remember John 1: 1 which says. “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with

God, and the Word was God.”

That is Jesus is the Word So when you bury yourself in the

Word of God, studying the Word, memorising the Word, you are fellowshipping with Jesus Christ.

And remember Joshua 1: 8, God advised Joshua. He said. if you want to prosper. If you want to have good success, meditate on the Word of God day and night. And if you read Psalm 1:1- 3. It tells you too how to be like a tree planted by the river side so that you will always be green. You will be prospering all the days of your life. He said it is by meditating in the Word of God day and night. In other words by fellowshipping with Jesus Christ, you will prosper mightily.

FELLOWSHIP WITH GOD THE HOLY SPIRIT

How do we fellowship with the Holy Spirit? By Communication:

All that the Holy Spirit wants is communication and conversation. When you want to fellowship with the Holy Spirit, you either sing in tongues or pray in tongues or speak in tongues. In 1 Corinthians 14: 18, Paul the apostle said.

“I thank my God, I speak with tongues more than ye all.” In other words, Paul said he fellowships with the Holy Spirit more than anyone else And you know the results for Paul, he was able to perform special miracles that nobody else could do. But when you begin to sing in tongue, pray in tongues and as you grow, dance in the spirit and laugh and do things in the

spirit, you will begin to fellowship with the Holy Spirit, and mighty things wall begin to happen to your life and in your ministry

THE LINK BETWEEN FELLOWSHIPPING WITH GOD THE FATHER, GOD THE SON AND GOD THE HOLY SPIRIT

Is there any link between fellowshipping with God the Father, with God the Son and with the Holy Spirit? Yes there is

In John 4: 23-24, Jesus Christ said to the woman that He found at the well,

But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship Him. God is a Spirit, and they that worship Him must worship Him in Spirit and in truth”

According to John 16: 13-17 the Lüble says, if you want to fellowship with God the Father, you are going to involve the Holy Spirit because God is a Spirit and they that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth. If you want to fellowship with Jesus Christ. God the Son you have to involve the Holy Spirit because Jesus Christ said.

“the Holy Spirit shall glorify Me.”

As you begin to speak in tongues and you speak to the Father in the spirit, the Holy Spirit will be glorifying Jesus Christ

through the spirit. As we hear from God the Father and God the Son, we will be hearing through the Holy Spirit.

In other words, those who know how to sing in tongues, praye tongues, do everything in the spirit, can fellowship with the Father, glorifying the Son and fellowship with the Holy Spin all at the same time.

So we clap, we sing, we dance, we call the name of Jesus, pray in tongues, we memorise the Word of God, that s fellowshipping with God.

It will be a good idea if you can take five minutes and fellowship a little with the Fathen with the Son and with the Holy Spint You will be exalted yourself and you will bless the name of the Lord.

Go ahead and do that.

Sing, dance, clap and shout. Call the name of Jesus, speak in tongues and sing in tongues God bless you as you do so.

The Strength Of The Disciple. Part Two. RCCG SOD Year 2

We shall consider another source of disciples strength in this lesson. This comes from a quiet , restful trust in the Lord.

According to Isaiah 5,15-18, the Bible says:

“For each Egyptian shall help in vain, and to no purpose: therefore have I cried concerning this. Their strength is to sit still. “

“For thus said the Lord God, the Holy one of Israel; In returning and rest shall ye be saved: In quietness and in confidence shall be your strength : and ye would not. But ye said no; for we will flee upon horses; therefore shall ye flee.; and ,m we will ride upon the swift; therefore shall they that pursue you be swift. One thousand shall flee at the rebuke of one; at the rebuke of five shall ye flee; till ye be left as a beacon upon the top of a mountain. And therefore will the Lord wait, that ye may be gracious unto you and therefore will he be exalted, that he may have mercy upon you; for the Lord is a God of judgement ; blessed are all that wait for Him”.

In quietness shall your strength be. Running around will not produce same result as quietness and restful trust in the Lord. In Isaiah 40:28-30, the Bible says the young men will faint and utterly fail, but they that wait on the Lord will renew their strength. In Psalms 46:10, the Bible says,

“Be still , and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the hearten, I will be exalted in the earth”.

In Exodus 14:13-14, the Bible says,

“And Moses said unto the people, fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will shew to you today; for the Egyptians whom ye have seen today, ye shall see them no more for ever. The Lord shall fight for you , and ye shall hold your peace”.

God said to the Children of Israel, “Hold your peace”. so that they could see the works but He told them to march forward. If God says hold your peace or be still, He means that you should be still in your soul or your spirit. When you move about let your mind be at rest. Instead of running helther skelter where there is trouble God is saying to the disciple that in whatever trouble you are facing, let there be peace in your heart.

In Psalms 125:1 , the Bible says “They that trust in the Lord shall be as Mount Zion, which cannot be removed, but abideth forever”. If we can trust in the Lord, we will be like Mount Zion that cannot be moved. Put your trust in the Lord . Don’t worry what the enemy can do. You will not be moved.

In Isaiah 26:4 : “Trust ye in the Lord forever, for in the Lord Jehovah is everlasting strength”. When you trust in the Lord, it enables Him to reveal His everlasting strength.

In Psalms 32:10 “Man sorrows shall be to the wicked; be he that trusted in the Lord, mercy shall compass him about”. When you rest in Him, it causes him to surround you with His Mercy”.

In Psalms 20: 7-8, “Some trust in chariots, and some in horse4s; but we will remember the name of the Lord our God. They are brought down and fallen, but we are risen, and stand upright”.

Those who trust in horses and chariots will fall, but those who trust in God shall stand.

In Psalms 27:2-3 David said, “…Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall rise against me, in this I will be confident”.

If a host should surround him and want to destroy him, he said they will fall and will never rise again, because he trusts in the Lord . In Psalms 112:7 , the Bible says if you trust in Lord or your heart is fixed in the Lord, you will never be afraid of evil report.

In Habakkuk 3:17-19 , the Bible says “Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines, the labour of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls: Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation. The Lord is my strength, and he will make my feet like hinds’ feet, and he will make me to walk upon mine high places. To the chief singer on my stringed instruments”.

If you don’t lose your salvation, whatever happens will always land at your feet. Habakkuk said no matter what happens , he will always trust in the Lord.

In Isaiah 12:1-3 , the Bible says : In that day, you will say I will praise thy name.

When a disciple learns to trust the Lord, then there is nothing more to do than to be praising the Lord and rejoicing in Him. People have asked why I am peaceful irrespective of what I am facing. My answer have always been, because I trust in the Lord.

The Strength Of The Disciple. Part One. RCCG SOD Year 2

The strength of a disciple is derived from various sources:

#1 Joy

The first strength of a disciple is JOY. In Nehemiah 8:10 The Bible says: “The joy  of the Lord is your strength”.In Proverbs 17:22, the Bible says that: “A merry heart doeth good like medicine but a broken spirit dries up bones”

When bones are dried up, the blood becomes weakened. The life of a man is in the blood. For example, if you poison a rat, when it walks into the sitting room and you try to chase it, it wont be able to run anymore. The rat’s blood has changed to water. When you kill it, you see that its blood has become blackish. That is exactly what sorrow does to a man (Proverbs 15:13). Sorrow is a spirit breaker.

This is why a disciple should always be joyful, so that he can remain strong.

#3 Strength of the Lord

The strength of a disciple also comes from the STRENGTH OF THE LORD.

Ephesians 6:10 says “Finally my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might”. The disciple derives his strength from the Lord.

In Phil. 4:13, the Bible says,

“I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me”.

As a branch inn the vine of Christ, you have to be attached to Him because he is the one supplying food and water to the branch. This is why Jesus said in John 15:5. “Without me , you can do nothing”

If you detach yourself from Him, you are finished.

#3 The Power of his  might

The strength of the disciple is supplied from within because it flows from Jesus through to us and he is in us. (Eph.3:4-16).  The Almighty supplies strength to the inner man. For example, there was a woman who was able to lift the whole car which had an accident because a child of her was under the car. This is what love will make us do. The CHRIST IN US SUPPLIED THE STRENGHT . The might of God is His Spirit (Zech. 4:6).

Jesus told the disciples in Acts 1:8 “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you; ad ye shall be witness unto me both in Jerusalem, and in Judea, and in Samaria , and unto the uttermost part of the earth”. He also said through Jude verse 20 that we should build our most holy faith by praying in the Holy Ghost.

God performed special miracles, mighty signs and wonders through Paul because4 he prayed in tongues more than all (2 Cor. 14:18). You know about Samson in Judges 14:5-6 and Judges 15:14-15. Each time Samson did something mighty, that was when the Holy Spirit came on him. He was able to do incredible things. In Judges 16:20-21 , when the Holy Spirit left Him, He became an ordinary man.

4. The Name of Jesus

The strength of the disciple also c0mes from the Name of  Jesus. (Phil. 2:9-10). The disciple had the authority to use the name.

#6 The word of God

The strength of the disciple also comes from the word of God because the word of God is forever settled. According to Isaiah 40:8, He says my word shalll stand forever. “The grass withereth , the flower fadeth; but the word of our God shall stand forever”.

#7 Mercy of God

One of the greatest sources of the strength of the disciple is the Mercy of God . The Bible says in Romans 9:16; “So then it is not of him that willeth , nor of h8im that runneth, but of God that showeth mercy”.

According to Lamentation 3:22-23, the Bible says” It is the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because its compassions fail not. They are new every mornings; great is thy faithfulness”. The mercy of the Lord is always there in the disciple. He renews it every morning.

In Psalm 106:1 , the Bible says the mercy of the Lord endureth forever. Therefore , I will ask you as a disciple to pray for the mercy of God.

Praying According To His Will. RCCG SOD Year 2

Praying According To His Will. RCCG SOD Year 2

When you pray, do not blackmail God. Pray according to his will. If we pray according to His will, He will answer. His will is what is written in His word. Pray as it is written in the Bible. Always remind Him of his word. He will honour His word and answer.

“IT IS WRITTEN”, is the greatest proof producer in the court of heaven. Whenever you say it is written, that settles the matter in heaven. In Matt. 4:1-11, the Lord Jesus used the word of God, “it is written” constantly to defeat the devil.

HOW DO WE KNOW THE WILL OF GOD CONCERNING OUR LIVES

We need to know the Will of God for our lives so that we can pray accordingly. Searching the scriptures is the way by which we know the will of God. There are so many of them that are plainly and clearly written for us. For example,

  1. It is written that it shall be well with me. “Say ye to the Righteous, that it shall be well with him, for they shall eat the fruit of their labour” Isaiah 3:10. Therefore I know that it shall be well with me. As the righteousness of God in Christ, Jesus has made me righteous.
  2. In Phil. 4:13, it is written, “I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me”. So I know that any goal I set, I can accomplish through Christ which strengthens me.
  3. In 1 Thess. 5:18; it is written; In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you”. The prayer of thanksgiving is the will of God nfor us as disciples. So when you want to pray, you can say “Father, you wish that I should give thanks in all things and I assume that by so doing my ultimate victory is assured in battle , even though the circumstances may not look so”.
  4. In Romans 8:28, it is written, And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God to them that are the called according to his purpose”. According to this scripture , irrespective of the circumstance, I know all will be well.
  5. in 2 Kings 6:15-17, the Bible says:

“And when the servant of the man of God was risen early, and gone forth , behold , an host compassed the city both with horse and chariots. And his servant said unto him. Alas, my master ! How shall we do? And we answered , fear not: for they that be with us are more than they be with them. And Elisha prayed, and said , Lord , I pray thee open His eyes, that he may see. And the Lord opened the the eyes of the man; and he saw : and behold , the mountain was full of chariots of fire round about Elisha.

6. In 1 Thess. 4:3, it is written,

“For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication”.

Your sanctification is the will of God. Therefore , according to this scripture, you can pray for sanctification and victory over sin. 1 John 3:8, the Bible says, “He that commiteth sin is of the devil”.

7. In 3 John 2 , it is written,

“Beloved, I wish above all things that thou may prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth”. It is God’s will that you should prosper and be in good health. If you cant see any progress in your life, businesses or academics , quote 3 John 2and then rebuke the devil.

8. In 1 John 3:8, It is written,

“He that commiteth sin is of the devil: for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil”.

It is the will of God for you to destroy the works of the devil. You can pray for all necessary anointing and resources for the destruction of the works of the enemy.

Carry the battle to the gate of the enemy. 1 John 4:14 “And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world”.

When we pray according to His will, nothing will be able to hinder our miracle.
