BIBLE PASSAGE: Luke 23:49-53 (KJV)
49 And all his acquaintance, and the women that followed him from Galilee, stood afar off, beholding these things.
50 And, behold, there was a man named Joseph, a counsellor; and he was a good man, and a just:
51 (The same had not consented to the counsel and deed of them;) he was of Arimathaea, a city of the Jews: who also himself waited for the kingdom of God.
52 This man went unto Pilate, and begged the body of Jesus.
53 And he took it down, and wrapped it in linen, and laid it in a sepulchre that was hewn in stone, wherein never man before was laid.

ATTRIBUTES OF KINGDOM INFLUENCERS
BECOMING A KINGDOM INFLUENCER
1. ATTRIBUTES OF KINGDOM INFLUENCERS
Kingdom Influencers, being believers in Christ, contribute significantly to the economy and social well-being of their societies through their chosen careers, vocations, or divine calling (Acts 16:14-15, 40). They are full of good works and positively showcase the grace of God to the people around them (Acts 9:36-40; Luke 23:50-51). They are believers who have a good mastery of their respective industries and thus use a combination of faith and competence to influence happenings around them (Exodus 31:2-6). They are core professionals who strategically promote Jesus along with their trade e.g. football stars, athletes, scientists, etc, and give the credit for their achievements to God. Kingdom Influencers have specialised knowledge and authority in a specific subject and as such are irresistible forces in their domain (Judges 4:4-5; 2 Samuel 23:9-10).
As ambassadors of Christ, they deliberately dominate and make God to be known anywhere they find themselves (2 Corinthians 5:20).
CLASS ACTIVITY 1: Is it possible to be a kingdom influencer in your profession?
2. BECOMING A KINGDOM INFLUENCER
God has called us to influence our world positively. Therefore, a kingdom influencer must have confessed his/her sins to God, accepted Jesus as his/her personal Saviour and Lord (Romans 10:9), and be ready to always share the good news about Him (Romans 1:16). Being filled with the Holy Spirit – the Master Strategist – cannot be over-emphasised (Ephesians 5:18).
To be Kingdom influencers indeed, we have to develop a large heart: friendly and accommodating (Proverbs 18:24). We also need to get ready to work hard, work smart, work tenaciously and aim at becoming known authorities or experts within our fields of endeavours (1 Kings 7:13-14). As Christians, we must establish a strong voice in our positions like the three Hebrew men (Daniel 3:16-19, 28-29). We must always be Game Changers in our spheres of influence (1 Samuel 17:32). Kingdom influencers have to be good stewards with accountability in mind (Luke 19:16-17).
CLASS ACTIVITY 2: What roles can Kingdom Influencers play in a nation’s policy formulation?
CONCLUSION: Everyone has influence. God expects us to be good stewards of that influence for His kingdom’s sake.
QUESTIONS:
Mention four attributes of Kingdom influencers.
Identify five things to do to become a kingdom influencer.
ASSIGNMENT: State five things you will do (are doing) to influence your immediate community for Christ (2×5=10 marks).

Central Truth: The Christian wife’s devotion to her husband reflects the church’s relationship to Christ.
INTRODUCING THE LESSON
Society today affords women more opportunities than ever to contribute their talent to the world. But society continues to need women who are dedicated wives and mother if the family unit is to survive and thrive. This week’s lesson offers a Biblical guidelines for women to follow to build strong marriages. The challenge is to keep those guidelines in focus while considering opportunities and goals few women during Biblical history could ever dream of. If you are a wife, then God has called you to a wonderful position. As a Christian wife, God has given you a very big responsibility to respect your husband, take care of your home and then live a lifestyle that will glorify Christ in your home.
LESSON OUTLINE
1. RESPECT YOUR HUSBAND
A. Timeless Example – Ephesians 5:22-23 B. Loyalty Priorities – Ephesians 5:24; Colossians 3:18.
2. BE COMMITTED TO THE FAMILY
A. Priceless Partner – Proverbs 31:10-12 B. Home Builder – Proverbs 31:27-29.
3. DEVELOP CHRISTIAN CHARACTER
A. Lifestyle Evangelism – 1 Peter 3:1-2 B. Inner Beauty – 1 Peter 3:3-6
Learning Objectives
At the end of this lesson, students will be able to:
1. Accept whole-heartedly God’s demands on loyalty from wives towards their husbands.
2. Follow scriptural call to and prioritise the home and Wife ‘s priceless responsibility as a home builder. 3. Esteem godly character as the foundational sources of a woman’s beauty.
Learning Objectives At the end of this lesson, students will be able to:
1. Accept whole-heartedly God’s demands on loyalty from wives towards their husbands. 2. Follow scriptural call to prioritise the home and Wife ‘s priceless responsibility as a home builder.
3. Esteem godly character as the foundational sources of a woman’s beauty.
Ephesians 5:22-24
[22]Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. [23]For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. [24]Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.
Colossians 3:18 [18]Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as it is fit in the Lord.
Proverbs 31:10-12,27-29
[10]Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies. [11]The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil. [12]She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life. [27]She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness. [28]Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her. [29]Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all.
1 Peter 3:1-5
[1]Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives; [2]While they behold your chaste conversation coupled with fear. [3]Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel; [4]But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price. [5]For after this manner in the old time the holy women also, who trusted in God, adorned themselves, being in subjection unto their own husbands:
Commentary and Application
1. Respect Your Husband
A. Timeless Example– Ephesians 5:22, 23*
Question for Application Does Ephesians 5:22, 23 apply to our lives today, or does it describe cultural realities in the Early Church?
It is difficult to reconcile Ephesians 5:22 with prevailing secular views of the wife’s role. But approaching the verse from the viewpoint of the modern women’s liberation movement is a mistake.
The push to “liberate” women is a reaction against the abuse of Women, both in the home and in society. Women’s rights groups have pursued some positive goals, such as the right to vote and equal opportunity in the work place. But Some women’s groups have become mired in a carnal view of Women.
Women are being misled into believing they abase themselves if they give in to the wishes of any man. Women are encouraged to exalt self-expression at the expense of their husbands, their children, the smooth functioning of their homes, even their unborn babies.
Ephesians 5:22 is not about abuse, grovelling, or giving up one’s identity. It is about living out one’s Christian testimony. A godly wife submits to her husband “as unto the Lord,” because she is submitted to the lordship of Christ.
Verse 23 approaches the marriage equation from the husband’s side. He is “the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church.” As last week’s lesson emphasized husbands who lead in a Christlike manner sacrifice themselves to meet their wives’ needs.
Clearly, Ephesians 5:22, 23 not based on changing cultural mores. Wives who are committed to pleasing the Lord will respect their husbands. The verses connect the timeless framework of the home with timeless spiritual principles.
(Ask a student to read Ephesians 5:24 to the class). The context of a wife’s submitting to her husband is that of the Church submitting to Christ. The idea here is that a wife will demonstrate godly submission to her husband as an expression of her relationship to Christ. This builds value into the wife’s respect for her husband, but also calls for the husband to model Christ in the home.
Question for Application
What does “in everything” mean in this passage?
Verse 24 applies the call for submission very broadly. It does not say a wife can pick and choose areas in which she will respect her husband’s wishes. However, this is not the only verse to address the subject.
The phrase “as is fitting in the Lord” (Čolossians 3:18) offers additional guidance for wives. A wife is not to follow her husband’s wishes if doing so would involve any kind of sin. That would never be “fitting” or appropriate behaviour to God.
Husbands and wives must remember that the wife’s first loyalty is to God, and that marital submission is an outgrowth of that loyalty. The husband must seek to support God’s plan for his wife, not undermine that plan in selfish fulfilment of his own goals. He will recognise the importance of her spiritual gifts and divine calling. This means those considering marriage need to be open with one another about the direction God is leading their lives. God intends that husbands and wives work as partners to accomplish His purposes. The husband’s leadership in the home is best expressed under these circumstances.
2. Be Committed to the Family
A. Priceless Partner- Proverbs 31:10-12
A woman’s place in society in New Testament times was much more limited than today. Yet Ephesians 5:22-24 clearly demonstrates that God’s view of the wife is much higher than the value placed on her by society 2,000 years ago. That contrast is even greater in Old Testament times.
Heathen societies in Old Testament times commonly held a low view of women. In Egyptian art, women often appeared on a smaller Scale than men as a portrayal of their lower social status. The Athenian hero, Pericles, reportedly said that the greatest glory for a woman was to be talked of as little as possible.
There is nothing second class in this portrayal of the ideal wife. She is “of noble character” and “worth far more than rubies” (Proverbs 31:10, NIV). She stands out as a woman of talent and intelligence, worthy of the confidence of her husband. She is committed to a lifelong relationship with her partner, determined to do him good as long as she lives. Each of these verses touch on key factors in a marriage relationship.
Verse 10 places enormous value on the wife. Indirectly, it calls on husbands to prioritise their relationships with their wives above their pursuit of material success. Many marriages have fallen by the wayside when one partner has become more married to a career than to the spouse.
The wife’s noble character is also impacted by her husband. Paul warned Christians not to be unequally yoked, because he knew a spouse has the most powerful influence on one’s beliefs, attitudes, and actions. Christians must seek out other committed believers as marriage partners. Husbands must Iive in such a way as to encourage Christlike character in their wives.
Verse 11 describes the husband’s confidence in his wife and her ability to bring good things into his household. This not only honours the wife’s abilities, it describes the necessary choice husbands must make to allow their wives to become all that God intends them to be. Confidence is a choice. Many husbands who ridicule their wives for perceived shortcomings have never stepped back and allowed their wives to demonstrate their God-given gifts.
As more marriages fall by the wayside in modern society, heeding the Bible’s call for lifelong commitment becomes even more vital, The extent to which a wife brings her husband “good.. all the days of her life” (verse 12), rests in large measure on how her husband invests himself in her. The husband who understands the priceless worth of his wife and gives of himself accordingly reaps a lifetime of companionship. Such a deep relationship is a balm to the soul during life’s most difficult days.
B. Home Builder-Proverbs 31:27-29
The home is the main building block of every society. It is the nurturing ground for a nation’s future teachers, doctors, preachers, and those in government service. The Bible gives due attention to the wife’s vital role within the home.
Verse 28 points to more than just compliments given in return for services rendered. The word “blessed” includes the idea of being honest or true. In other words, this mother’s testimony is influencing her children. They recognize the depth of her character.
Today, there are even more opportunities for women to rise to the top of a career or field of expertise, than in Bible days (see verse 29). But again, God’s Word prioritises the home. “Thou excellest them all,” is the praise the ideal wife of Proverbs 31 hears.
3. Develop Christian Character A. Lifestyle Evangelism–1Peter3:1,2
Marriage to an unbelieving spouse creates one of the most difficult environments in which to live out a Christian testimony. The person who is the closest human believer is out of companion to the fellowship with that believer’s Saviour. The case of a wife living with an unsaved husband creates an additional quandary. How can she respect the spiritual leadership of some one who does not acknowledge her Lord?
In 1 Peter 3:1, 2, Peter called attention to this dilemma, and his answer may seem surprising to some women. If this were simply Peter’s opinion, one could argue against it. But the Holy Spirit inspired this passage. He views the Christian wife as His closest ally in reaching out to an unsaved husband.
Question for Application What exceptions to this rule might a wife have to consider?
A wife who seeks to follow the leadership of an unsaved husband is never obligated to disobey God in the process. Her husband may be bound by sinful habits and he may attempt to include her in them. At such times, she will need the guidance of the Holy Spirit to express her priority of being loyal to God.
The expression “without the word be won” (verse 1, KJV; “won over with out words,” NIV) is powerful. In some homes, unsaved husbands may violently oppose any mention of the name of Jesus. In other homes, the believing wife may affect a tone of self-righteousness that harangues an unsaved but otherwise kindly husband. But the wife who prayerfully commits her every action to the Holy Spirit’s guidance will communicate volumes about her faith to her spouse by her behaviour. B. Inner Beauty– 1 Peter 3:3-6
The Christian wife is a woman of unsurpassed beauty. Christ’s transforming work gives her a wellspring of love to share with her life companion and her children. If her spouse is unsaved, she has the opportunity to draw him to Christ if her spouse is a believer, she has the privilege of standing with him in service to the Lord.
Peter had such beauty in mind when he wrote 1 Peter 3:3, 4. The woman with a gentle and quiet spirit is not spineless. Rather, she is in a position to hear the still small voice of God’s Spirit. Like the woman described in Proverbs 31, she may possess great strength of character and many gifts and talents. But she focuses her abilities on pleasing God. This, as the surrounding verses show, includes her loving respect for her husband.
Question for Application Was Peter claiming that the use of outer adornment was wrong?
While some groups of believers have interpreted this passage as a prohibition against jewelry, makeup, or certain fashion trends, this was not Peter’s emphasis. He was showing the priority of inner beauty over outward adornment. The Bible often describes the use of jewelry, perfumes, and beautiful clothing in a positive light. But godly character must be the foundational source of a woman’s beauty.
One of the most beautiful women mentioned in the Bible is Sarah, the wife of Abraham. Her beauty caught the attention Egypt’s pharaoh despite the harem of wives he already had. And her beauty captivated him when she was well past middle age! Peter picked Sarah as an example of beauty, but he did not focus on the face that stunned Egypt’s palace (1 Peter 3:5,6). He directed his attention to her godly character.
Sarah and other godly women of the Old Testament are mentioned as examples to wives living in every era. Peter did not call on women to refer, to their husbands as master. He described Sarah’s practice in order to reveal her heart attitude of faithfulness to God and to Abraham. It is that attitude that God wants every Christian wife to develop today. It is an attitude committed to doing what is right and not giving in to fear.
Sarah was a Woman of great faith. Her life bears out this reputation. She faithfully stood by Abraham, travelling from their home in Haran into the land of Canaan. She became the mother of Isaac, the son of promise, in her old age. Her life is so significant in Scripture that even her burial arrangements occupy a chapter of Genesis.
By connecting the wives in his audience with Sarah (verse 6), Peter made a key observation, the woman who fulfils her God-given role within her marriage is truly a spiritual giant in God’s eyes.
Call to Discipleship
A wife reaches her full measure as a lifelong partner when she brings her husband “good, not harm, all the days of her life” (Proverbs 31:12), demonstrating to him the love, compassion, and servant’s heart of Christ. As she seeks to be the wife God desires her to be, she will not only create an environment of blessing in her home, but will also mature spiritually herself and draw closer to her Lord. The Bible invites a woman to serve her family and her God and build a lifelong marriage rich in love and dignity and full of joyful expression.
1. How can a Christian wife’s devotion to her husband reflect the Church’s relationship to Christ? 2. In what ways can a married couple show the world the relationship that Christ has to His bride, the Church? 3. List Some practical suggestions on ways a Christian wife can Win her unsaved husband to the Lord.
Ministry in Action Some students in your class may be dealing with marital discord or even facing the dissolution of their marriage because they have never made Jesus Christ the Lord of their lives. Invite them to make that decision today.

Text: Luke 12:54-56; John 8:31-32;14:6; 1 Cor 2:6-16;Eph 2:1-7;2 Tim 3:16
Key Verse: John 14:6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. (NIV)
Focus Faced with a world that has abandoned absolute truth, many teens today are searching for it. In some cases, they can’t find it in their schools, in their homes, or among their peers. At times they cannot even find it in the Church.
The world teaches that many roads lead to truth: “What might be truth to one person isn’t necessarily truth to another.” “All truths are really created equal”. These are dangerous ideas being preached to your teens in subtle ways. It’s no wonder students are confused about absolute truth and curious about other claims to it. But that curiosity can lead to dangerous ideas and philosophies. If students based their beliefs of truth on anything other than God’s Word, they will be headed down a dangerous path. Student must realize that God is the source of ultimate truth. His Word must be the tool with which we determine ultimate truth.
In this study, your students will discover that truth is found in natural laws as well as supernatural laws. The natural laws can be seen by the naked eyes; supernatural laws are revealed by God’s Spirit. They will learn that God’s Word is truth and Jesus is the ultimate example for our truth.
The Basic Message: Explain to students…
• WHAT’S THE BIG IDEA? God is the source of all truth.
WHY DOES IT MATTER? If we don’t look to God as our sole source of truth, we’ll be misled by the deceptive ideas and philosophies that constantly confront us.
HOW DO I LIVE IT? Look to God as your sole source of truth and use His Word as your standard for what to believe and what to reject.
Activity Option: EXCEPT THIS…
Divide the class into groups of three or four. Assign to each group one of the Ten Commandments. Instruct them to come up with at least example of how society-even Christians-have justified exceptions to the command. For example, we may not take the life of another person, but we may think nothing of spreading a rumour that would ruin his or her reputation. Ask each group to share their examples in the class, and discuss their answers as class.
Guide: Explain that our society and even, at times, the Church have made exceptions to these truths for their convenience. Society now has no absolute truth. It is important that we, as Christians, know the truth and determine to demonstrate it to a world in need.
Study Overview: Explain that today’s study considers…
• How truth is found both in the natural law and spiritual law. • Why we must look to God as our source of truth. • What Christians should use as our standard for truth-the Bible.
Inform and Discuss
a). Where Is Truth Found?
Guide: Read or ask a volunteer to read Luke 12:54-56.Explain that unlike today, the people of Jesus’ time did not have advanced meteorological equipment available to them. They relied on what they saw in the sky to “forecast” the weather. The people Jesus was addressing would be familiar with these techniques. For them, it was a matter of livelihood and, at times, life and death.
1. What natural law do we know of today? What would happen if a natural law like gravity were to reverse suddenly or cell structures reacted sporadically, or water began to turn to steam(or freeze) at 68 degrees?[Hint: Some natural laws are the Law of Gravity, the Laws of Motion, the Laws of Thermodynamics. These natural laws are vitally important to us. They provide consistency to life. If any of these laws would breakdown, we would be in big trouble.
Note: Although Jesus’ example was reference to natural law, the point He was making was that people were oblivious to the “present time”. In other words, they were capable of determining natural law, but they failed to see the supernatural law that Jesus represented
2. Read or ask volunteers to read 1 Cor 2:6-16. Based on this passage, how would you describe spiritual laws?
Hint: They are eternal, hidden by God, revealed by God’s Spirit, not understood without the Spirit of God-they’re spiritually discerned.
Guide: Explain that just as natural law is observed through the natural means, spiritual law is only comprehended through the Spirit of God. Those who do not have the Spirit of God cannot comprehend spiritual laws.
b). God’s Word Is Truth
1. Read or ask a volunteer to read 2 Tim 3:16. According to this passage, how is the Bible the source of absolute truth?[Guide: Explain that while most people easily recognize natural laws, they cannot easily agree on the source of spiritual truth. God is the ultimate source of truth, and He has communicated that truth to us through His Word. The Bible is our ultimate source of truth.
Note: Many in our culture accept the Bible as one source of truth among many. However, as the Creator, only God is in the position to reveal to us absolute truth. He alone is infinite, eternal, and all-knowing. All other sources are merely created beings, speculating on their version of the truth.
Guide: Read or ask a volunteer to read John 8:31-32. Explain that a Christian’s worldview is not simply a philosophical choice. By accepting God’s spiritual truth, we have freedom from our sin-freedom to live life to its fullest.
2.What,then does that say about those who reject God’s spiritual truth?
Hint: Those who reject God’s spiritual truth will continue in bondage to their sin. They will not know the truth.
c). Jesus Is the Truth
1.. Was Jesus ‘only reason for coming to earth to die for our sins?
Hint: No. If that were the case, He could have come as an adult and accomplished His goal in a shorter amount of time.]
2. Read or ask a volunteer to read Eph 2:1-7.According to this passage, what was another reason for Christ’s coming?
Hint: While Christ’s sacrifice purchased salvation for us, the life He lived on earth revealed the truth of God to us.
3. What did Jesus reveal about God’s truth that was not previously understood? [Hint: He revealed God’s love. The religious leaders of the time had corrupted the laws and writings of the Old Testament. The adherence to God’s Law had become only an outward obligation. Through Christ, God’s presence was allowed to live among us and dwell in our hearts. Jesus is the supreme example of God’s truth.]
4. Read or ask a volunteer to read John 14:6.What impact does Jesus ‘statement have on our worldview? [Hint: As Christians, we can only accept Jesus as the way to salvation and the primary example of ultimate truth. Jesus is not merely one of the ways to salvation. He is the only way.
5. Why do some people have trouble accepting Jesus’ statement in this passage? [Hint: It’s viewed as narrow minded by our culture. By denying the statement they are able to live how they please, rather than having to deal with their sin, changing the way they live.
Note: It Is important to know what you believe about truth because our culture has no standard for ultimate truth. If we do not know for sure what we believe, It will be too easy to be swayed otherwise.
Involve Them: Read the following statements to your class. Discuss what “truths” the world might base each statement on:
1. What’s right for you may not be right for me. 2. Anything is okay as long as you’re not hurting anyone. 3. Do whatever it takes to get ahead. 4.There’s more than one way to eternal happiness. 5.We can only find true peace within ourselves.
How might these ideas be dangerous if you’re not committed to God’s truth?
Guide: Though these ideas sound appealing and might be convincing. Challenge students to cling to the truth of God as revealed in His Word. Explain that this is the only way to avoid deception by the philosophies of the world and their versions of “truth.”
Inspire Them: Remind students THE BASIC MESSAGE of this study(pg 43), even as you explain WHAT the Big Idea behind the study is; WHY it matters; and HOW we can live the lesson captured in this study.
Invitation Option: Some student in your class may have never made the decision to accept God’s invitation for truth. Give them the opportunity at this time to open their hearts and their lives to God’s forgiveness and God’s supernatural laws.
Ministry Activity: Ask students to think of someone they know who needs to know the truth of God. Spend a few minutes praying for each person to be introduced to the truth of God’s Word.
Teacher Hint: Ask Yourself… 1. Can students describe how truth is found both in natural and supernatural laws? 2. Do they recognize God’s Word as the ultimate standard for absolute truth? 3.Can they explain how Jesus is the example of God’s truth to us?
Daily Dew Drops Mon: Truth Delivers – John 8:31-32 Tue: The Right Path – Psalm 25:5 Wed: Simply Yes or No – James 5:12 Thu: Flawless – Prov 30:5 Fri: Knowing the Truth Personified – 1 John 5:20 Sat: The Spirit of Truth – John 15:26

In Ecclesiastes 3:1-2, the Bible says, “To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven. A time to be born, and a time to dis; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;”
The disciple must know that there is a time to plant and a time to uproot. What can a disciple plant? Luke 8:11- “Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.”
The seed to be planted gently and tenderly into the earth of men is the word of God and not fables and stories. We plant the word of God by witnessing to believers and encouraging fellow believers. The disciple must plant the word at least once in a day,
witness at least once in a day and encourage a fellow Christian once a day.
A Time to Uproot
The disciple must know how to uproot violently and relentlessly. In Matthew 15:13, the Bible says: “But he answered and said, Every plant, which my heavenly Father hath not planted, shall be rooted up.”
The disciple must uproot every plant that the Father has not planted, such as demons. In Mark 16:17, the Bible tells us to cast out demons. Therefore, do not compromise; uproot them and throw them out.
Time to Kill
In Ecclesiastes 3:3, the Bible says:
“A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;”
There is a time to kill and a time to restore life. The disciple knows when to kill and when to bring to life. He knows that snakes, cockroaches, spiritual and physical germs should be killed. All those things that want to drag you back from your Christian way must be destroyed. For example, lust of the flesh, bad habits etc. All hindrances, both physical and spiritual must be removed (e. g. appetite).
For example, in I Samuel 15:1-3. God told out the entire nation of the were germs Amalekites
and In Acts 5:1-14, Ananias and Saphira were uprooted so that the body of Christ could be healthy. And as a result of this removal, the Bible says multitudes were added to the Church. The church grew astronomically. If you don’t kill the germ and sickness, the body of Christ will not grow.
Another example is in Judges 2:1-3. God Israelites to kill the nations they were going to these nations would grow and become came but they refused to do so. As a result, God said flesh. One of the tribes which they refused to destroy were the people of Gath, where Goliath later; he was a man who terrorized them for forty ye We wonder why God didn’t send David earlier before the 40 years. It is because He had Israelites to remove the germs but they refused and ‘Germs’ grew into giants. forewarned from y
In Joshua 11:21-22, God told them to wipe out those that were not of God. They left Gaza, Gath and Ashdod alone. In I Samuel 17:4, we see the result this. There is a time to plant and a time to uproot. You must know this.
When you want to build a house, a lot of uprooting and pulling down has to be done between the period when you get the approved plan and when you completed the house. For example, trees have to be uprooted, the ground must be dug in order to build the foundation, rocks have to be split, and trees carved into furniture
Even iron ore must be smelt into iron sheets. The disciple knows that the stronghold of the enemy must be pulled down for him in (disciple) to be built up, Everything in your life that is not according to the will of God has to go. They must be pulled down (2 Corinthians 10:3 – 5 ) You must pull down all the strongholds of the enemy. It is only then, that you can continue to build and you can live a successful Christian life, so that your ministry may continue to grow.
Prayer
Talk to the Almighty concerning all the strongholds of the enemy in your life. Decree that every stronghold of the enemy in your life must be pulled down.
Every plant which is not of God must be uprooted, so that you can be healthy both in spirit, soul and body.

THE disciple is a pilgrim, a stranger In Hebrews 11: 13, the Bible concerning the disciple, “They all died in faith, having received the promises but having seen then afar off, and were persuaded of them, embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.”
According to 1 Peter 2:11, our city is in heaven This world is not our own (Philippians 3:20; Hebrews 13:13 world is need to know that we are through this world. The disciple is a man on a journey who will still return home. He is a ‘strange’ creature Why? Because he is in the world but not of the world Why? B5:199.). We are a different people even though we re living with others in this world.
The disciple is a soldier, always on the warfront is not a civilian. He is always ready for action. Ephesians 6:13).
The disciple has an order to be ready for battle always. I Timothy 6:12-14. He is commanded to fight and resist the devil steadfastly (James 47. 1 Peter 5.8-9).
At the same time, the disciple is a priest in the temple and a king on the throne. In the olden days, if you were a priest, you could not be a king or vice versa But the disciple is both a priest and a king. That is why he is called Royal Priesthood. Royalty talks about kingship and priesthood talks about being a priest. As a priest, he has to worship God constantly. Revelation 1:5-6.
THE DISCIPLE AND TIME
The disciple is a forever man.’ He is for eternity (I Thessalonians 4:17). The disciple is always conscious of time, Ecclesiastes 3:1-20. He knows the value of time. The disciple must be aware that there is a time for birth and a time to die. Immediately a child is born, he begins to grow, or he begins to die. That is why in relation to age, a baby is referred to as a day ‘old’ and not a day ‘young.’
You must know that day to day you are getting closer to the grave, and thus closer to the day of judgement. Hebrews 9:27 says, “it is appointed unto man to die once and after death is judgement, “The disciple is a man in a hurry, because he knows that time is against him. Any opportunity that goes is gone forever. A disciple is careful on how he uses his time. He is not a time-waster, because he has eternity in mind.

It is a burning desire to get things done A This leads us to a determination that whatever obstacle that may be on the way, this obstacle will be used as fuel or the energy of the zealous. It is like pouring water on petrol fire. The early Christians achieved So much inspite of persecution, because they were zealous. The more the persecution, the more determined they became. Our Lord Jesus Christ was very zealous from his youth.
In Luke 2:42-49, the Bible tells us that after the family came to Jerusalem to worship and the parents left, they left Jesus behind in the temple. He was there talking with the professors, arguing with them, showing them the scriptures, for three days. Within the three days, 1 am not sure He ate anything. The parents had gone and I am sure he had no money with Him. He was so jealous for the work of His father.
In John 4:31-35, when Jesus was ministering to the Samaritan by the well, the disciples called him to come and eat but He told the disciples I don’t need food, my food is to do the will of him that sent me’. He was so zealous that he didn’t even care for food but to do the will of God who sent Him. God is very zealous, so Jesus was closely following the examples of His father.
In John 5:17 Jesus Christ said,
“My father worketh hitherto and I work.”
After God had created the heaven and earth in six days and had rested on the seventh day. He continued to work. The Almighty God is working. If God is working, you too as His disciple should be working.
WHAT IS THE FATHER’S ZEAL DOING?
The zeal of the Almighty is doing the following: (1) The Almighty is busy bringing light to those who
are in darkness, the ignorant, the sick, the sinner and the demon possessed – Isaiah 9:2-7.
4) Delivering the oppressed from the oppressor, including those who are lawful captives (Isaiah 49:24 – 25 ) who must be set free forcefully. Waging war with fire against the forces of darkness.
(6) Hastening the return of the Messiah.
(7) Establishing the kingdom of heaven on earth,
Jesus said whatever I see my Father doing, I do the same thing. The father is zealous, so is the Son, so mu be the disciples of the Son. But our zeal must be with knowledge because in Romans 10:1-2, Paul talked about zeal without knowledge. He said:
“Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God of Israel is, that they might be saved. For I bear then record that they have a zeal of God, but no according to knowledge.”
How can we be zealous?
We can be zealous in the following ways:
(1) By witnessing, teaching and reminding the enemies of God about His word (Psalm 119:139). Many people have forgotten the word of God. Now many people even preach today and they don’t refer to the word of God. They spend all the time telling stories. And they talk about what they have done and what they have achieved. Our own zeal must be to get the word of God to the people because heaven and earth will pass away but the word of God will stand forever.
(2) Ministering to the saints (II Corinthians 9:1-2). Our Lord was zealous in ministering to the saints. He is always feeding the multitude spiritually and physically.
Our lord was always zealous in good works. Therefore as disciples we must be zealous in good works (Titus 2:13-14). The reason we are saved , sanctified and set aside is that we can be zealous in good works.
(4) We should be in repentance of Not the win of fornication and lying because these cannot be found among the disciples, but of the sin of laziness and Inactivity. For at times were sleeping when we should be awake and praying (Revelation 3:19)
(5) We must be zealous in faith. Our faith must be the kind that will challenge others so that they too will become as zealous as ourselves for the Lord (John 6:28. 29)
(6) We must be zealous for spiritual gifts.
a. So that we may edify the church, build up the church and make the church strong (1 Corinthians 14:12).
(b) So that we may be able to destroy all evil
(c) works (II Kings 10:15-17) So that we can cleanse the body of Christ.
When Jesus Christ was driving some people out of the temple, He said, ‘do not convert my father’s house to den of thieves’. Your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, there should be nothing impure there. The temple can be the church of the living God, it can even be this nation (John 2:13-17).
(7) We must be zealous in intercession, Isaiah 59:16-17.

In the mid 80’s, Hirotaka Takeuchi and Ikujiro Nonaka defined a flexible and all-inclusive product development strategy where the development team works as a unit to reach a common goal. They described an innovative approach to product development that they called a holistic or “rugby” approach, “where a team tries to go the distance as a unit, passing the ball back and forth.” They based their approach on manufacturing case studies from various industries.
Takeuchi and Nonaka proposed that product development should not be like a sequential relay race, but rather should be analogous to the game of rugby where the team works together, passing the ball back and forth as they move as a unit down the field. The rugby concept of a “Scrum” (where a group of players form together to restart the game) was introduced in this article to describe the authors’ proposal that product development should involve “moving the Scrum downfield”.
Ken Schwaber and Jeff Sutherland elaborated on the Scrum concept and its applicability to software development in a presentation at the Object-Oriented Programming, Systems, Languages & Applications (OOPSLA) conference held in 1995 in Austin, Texas.
Since then, several Scrum practitioners, experts, and authors have continued to refine the Scrum conceptualization and methodology. In recent years, Scrum has increased in popularity and is now the preferred project development methodology for many organizations globally.
Some of the key benefits of using Scrum in any project are:
Adaptability—Empirical process control and iterative delivery make projects adaptable and open to incorporating change.
Transparency—All information radiators like a Scrumboard and Sprint Burndown Chart are shared, leading to an open work environment.
Continuous Feedback—Continuous feedback is provided through the Conduct Daily Standup, and Demonstrate and Validate Sprint processes.

Memory Verse: Ephesians 5:25 – Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it, (KJV).
Bible Text: Ephesians 5:25-33; Colossians 3:19; 1 Peter 3:7,12.
Central Truth: Christian husbands are to love their wives as Jesus Christ loves the Church.
INTRODUCING THE LESSON
“I love you.” Those words have been spoken countless times and in every language. Many a man has made that declaration to the woman he believed would meet his deepest needs. Many have followed those words with, “Will you marry me?” Sadly, many men have failed to understand the depth of meaning behind “I love you,” and as a result, failed to meet the obligations of marriage when that proposal was accepted.
Every day young couples, even Christian couples, go into marriage with almost no idea of what it means to be a godly husband or wife. This lesson offers solid biblical guidelines for being a Christian husband, but even wives can benefit from some of the key principles.
As Christians, both husbands and wives are to model their lives after Jesus Christ. So, while this lesson describes the pattern Christ has established for the husband, elements of that pattern will enrich a wife as well.
THE LESSON OUTLINE
1. LOVE YOUR WIFE A. Sacrificial Love – Ephesians 5:25 B. Beneficial Love – Ephesians 5:26-27.
2. CARE FOR YOUR WIFE
A. Golden Rule – Ephesians 5:28-30 B. Priority Relationship – Ephesians 5:31-33.
3. HONOUR YOUR WIFE A. Sowing And Reaping – Colossians 3:19 B. Spiritual Yardstick – 1 Peter 3:7,12.
Learning Objectives At the end of this lesson, students will be able to:
1. Understand an appreciate God’s sacrificial love as a model for the man.
2. Reappraise our priorities in relationships; husbands making rooms to be a blessing to the wife.
3. Realise the truth that husbands are responsible to God on how they treat wives and how it affects their relationship with God.
The Holy Scriptures Ephesians 5:25-33
[25]Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; [26]That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, [27]That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. [28]So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself. [29]For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church: [30]For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones. [31]For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. [32]This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church. [33]Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband.
Colossians 3:19 [19]Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against them.
1 Peter 3:7,12 [7]Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered. [12]For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil.
Commentary and Application
1. Love Your Wife A. Sacrificial Love-Ephesians 5:25
Question for Application
What kind of feelings come to mind when contemplating being in love?
When we ask someone what it is like to be in love, we often get an idealistic answer focusing on companionship, shared happiness, and an unbroken chain of pleasant experiences. These are the most Common descriptions of love in the popular media.
The Bible calls for a love from the husband for his wife that is modelled after the love of Jesus for the Church (Ephesians 5:25). And if there is one word that encompasses what Christ’s love is, it is sacrifice. This kind of love requires a ‘what- can-l-give?” mentality.
When we think of the length to which Jesus Christ “gave himself for it [the Church],” we find a tall order for every husband. The husband seeking to express this kind of love to his wife will be prepared to make any sacrifice for her benefit.
B. Beneficial Love- Ephesians 5: 26, 27
Sacrifice needs to be qualified, however. The Bible does not call the husband to become a slave in order to provide a selfish wife with every luxury A godly attitude of self-sacrifice has godly goals in mind.
The benefits described in Ephesians 5:26, 27are specifically connected to the relationship between Christ and the Church. If that point is not clear, some husbands can overestimate their role in the wife’s walk of faith. Every person is individually responsible for his or her salvation decision.
Christ’s action on behalf of the Church is clearly intended to be a model for some aspects of a husband’s relationship with his wife. Verse 28 begins with “So ought men to love their wives” (KJV) or “In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives” (NIV), and points back to the statements in verses 26 and 27. What Christ personally accomplished for the Church, a husband can encourage in his wife’s life.
Vers 26 focuses on the spiritual cleansing Jesus brings about in the believer’s life. A husband who promotes spiritual disciplines in the home creates an environment in which his wife can thrive spiritually. If he is committed to Bible study, prayer, and fellowship with other Christians, she will be encouraged to pursue these goals as well.
Verse 27 speaks of the perfect union between Jesus and His spotless Bride, the Church. Christ and the Church enter this heavenly marriage in complete purity.
Question for Application How can fallen humans mirror this ideal picture of marriage?
Man and woman come together in marriage as imperfect human beings. But they are to pursue holiness in every aspect of their relationship, including sexual intimacy.
While modern society makes a joke out of the idea of a virgin bride, the Bible’s call for sexual purity is clear. Christian couples are to observe sexual abstinence during courtship and remain faithful during marriage. Unfortunately, the world contradicts this kind of commitment.
The husband who sees his wife as holy before God will promote her welfare constantly. During their most intimate moments, he will not debase her or treat her as an object.
Holiness must permeate the Christian marriage. Husbands must interact with their wives in a manner that draws them closer to Christ. All of his activities – from daily chores, to hobbies, to entertainment and vacations – must be entered into by the husband in such a way that his wife will be positively affected, so she will “be holy and without blemish” (verse 27).
2. Care for Your Wife A. Golden Rule- Ephesians 5:28-30
Questions for Application If a husband is committed to meeting his wife’s needs, how can he receive any benefit from marriage himself?
We tend to look at marriage in terms of what we can get out of the relationship.
Questions for Application What qualities were you looking for in your dates, and by extension, in your future spouses?
There is nothing wrong with looking for desirable qualities in a wife. But the priority in a healthy marriage must be on what the husband can do for his wife to nurture those qualities. The husband who truly loves his wife with a Christlike love builds her up emotionally and spiritually. He then enjoys the fruit of a relationship with a partner who has been nurtured in these areas.
“But I just don’t understand my wife and how to meet her needs,” men might object. The Bible offers a surprisingly simple key to successful marriage based on the similarities between the sexes. Ephesians 5:28 calls on husbands to treat their wives like they treat themselves. This requires the kind of selfless love described in the previous verse. It also reveals the balance in God’s equation for a healthy marriage. For a husband to treat his wife according to this guideline, he must also care for his own needs.
Jesus applied this principle to all relationships, “Love thy neighbour as thyself” (Matthew 19:19). The husband who loves his wife as his own body, as called for in Ephesians 5:28, is loving the person closest to himself.
Some men might try to twist this concept and claim they need to meet their own needs first in order to be good husbands.
The end of verse 28 helps husbands keep a correct perspective, “He that loveth his wife loveth himself.” Husbands, who first focus on their wives and their needs, will bring blessing into their marriage relationship and to themselves.
In verses 29 and 30, the relationship between Christ and the Church enters the picture again. The Church is not only Christ’s bride, but also His body. Just as people seek to meet their physical needs, Christ meets the needs of the Church as His body.
An important aspect of marriage is the husband’s ability to provide for his wife’s needs. Husbands can fall.into the trap of trying to give their wives every comfort at the expense of building a rich personal relationship. Christ’s love and provision for the Church are understood in the context of His unity with the Church (verse 30).
Everything He provides for the Church enriches His relationship with the Church. In marriage, the unity of the relationship is far more important than a wealthy lifestyle.
Priority Relationship-Ephesians 5:31-33
Ephesians 5:31 to the class is one of the most popular verses of Scripture read in marriage ceremonies. But reading the verse at one’s wedding and applying its truth in one’s home are two different tasks entirely.
Question for Application What does verse 31 tell us about the priority of the marriage relationship?
Our closest relationships during our formative years are with our immediate family. The marriage relationship must be so close that even the bonds to a loving father or mother fall behind it.
This doesn’t mean a husband no longer honours his parents. But he makes sure that his wife can trust him to prioritise her needs over those of anyone else – even those who have been the dearest to him throughout his life. Every other relationship must make way for the needs of the marriage partnership.
Discussing which night of the week to get together with friends may seem like a mundane matter, but everyday events, such as going out with friends, create the climate of a marriage. The husband must approach every part of marriage with the attitude of being a blessing to his wife.
Paul’s conclusion in verse 33 is respect their husbands. As a follower of Jesus, a Christian wife will respect Christlike character in her partner.
3. Honour Your Wife
A. Sowing and Reaping- Colossians 3:19 Ephesians repeatedly calls for a husband to love his wife and describes the marriage relationship in terms of Christ relating to the Church. When Paul wrote to the Colossians, he again called husbands to love their wives (Colossians 3:19).
But Paul went further in this epistle. (Ask another student to read the second half of the verse.) He included a warning with his command- do not be bitter (KJV) or harsh (NIV) with your wives.
Paul is warning husbands that how they treat their wives can. directly affect the marital relationship. Over time, the husband who is harsh to his wife can transform a loving partner into an embittered foe, turning his home into a battleground. Once the transformation takes place, it is not easily undone.
Building a successful marriage is a lifelong process of sowing and reaping. Husbands who sow discord with their wives will very likely reap a miserable marriage’ or possibly a divorce. Husbands who faithfully sow Christ’s love with their partners have a good chance of reaping the wife exemplified by the Church.
B. Spiritual Yardstick– 1 Peter 3:7, 12 Marriage has the tremendous potential for great sorrow in daily life. It also has an enormous impact on our spiritual lives. Peter warned the reader of his first epistle that an unhealthy marriage relationship can adversely affect one’s relationship with God.
Question for Application Why would Peter connect the health of one’s marriage with the effectiveness of one’s prayers (1 Peter 3:7)? The husband who treats his wife harshly is disobeying the standard of love established by God and illustrated by Christs own love for His Church. This is sin, pure and simple. Husbands who insist on whitewashing abusive treatment of their wives are making excuses for their own sin. Unconfessed sin always creates a barrier between the believers and God.
The major thrust of verse 7, however, is one of encouragement. Peter wanted his readers to focus on the positive results of a loving marriage relationship. He encouraged husbands to treat their wives with consideration, and he did so using two key ideas. First, he pointed to the natural weakness of the woman compared to the man. This is an unfashionable truth today.
The “battle of the sexes” has been played out in countless public arenas, from athletic events to popular sitcoms. But the fact remains, God created men with the physical strength and those traits that facilitate their role as protectors and leaders in the home and in society at large.
Question for Application Does this statement make men better than women in God’s sight? Anyone who doubts the Biblical teaching of a woman’s complete equality with a man needs only to read the next phrase in verse 7. Women are not just “the weaker vessel,” but are “heir together [with their husbands] of the grace of life.”
God created women to Complement the characteristics of men. When Christian men and women join together in a lifelong marriage relationship, they build a partnership in which the strengths of each partner counter-balance the weaknesses of the other.
Husbands are responsible to God for how they treat their wives. According to verse 12, it will affect their relationship with God. Husbands have a choice. They can either pursue the Christlike path building up their wives and reaping both a happy marriage and God’s blessing. Or they can selfishly pursue their own dreams and goals regardless of the cost to their partner. They may even bully their way to a certain degree of success with an intimidated wife. But the harvest they reap spiritually and perhaps for eternity, will be grim.
Call to Discipleship
The worship chorus, “To Be Like Jesus”, includes the line “all l ask is to be like Him” Perhaps few couples think of this song when evaluating where their marriage is heading, but that line summarises the key to every marriage’s success.
A husband who commits himself to being like Jesus every day will build a foundation for his marriage strong enough to withstand any attack. He will remain faithful to his wife, will lovingly meet his wife’s needs, and will give his very life for her if necessary.
Just as Christians must rely on Christ’s work in them in order to live for Him. Husbands must rely on Christ to model His behaviour in their marriage.
The Biblical pattern for husbands is not achievable by any man in human strength alone. But the man who takes hold of all that Christ has to offer will find that his own inner transformation makes possible an outer expression of abiding love to his spouse.
1. How can a husband’s Christlike love win an unsaved wife to Christ? 2. List some practical ways a Christian husband can express his love for his wife.
3. What do you think is your greatest responsibility as a husband? What does your wife think it is?
Ministry in Action Some students in your class may be dealing with marital discord or even facing the dissolution of their marriage because they have never made Jesus Christ the Lord of their lives. Invite them to make that decision today.

Text: Exodus 20:1-20; Matt 7:12; 19:16-21; Rom 12:17-21;Gal 5:13-14;Eph 5:1-2
Key Verse: James 2:8 If you really keep the royal law found in Scripture, “Love your neighbour as yourself,” you are doing right. (NIV)
Focus
Humanity is fast abolishing any common standard for ethical standards by substituting “Absolute truth” with “relativism” and “tolerance.” It’s no wondersome of your students may not know what to believe when it comes to moral or ethical issues. Presently, there are lots of contentions in the Western world over the definition of who is a woman.
Yet, in the Bible, God has set out guidelines for life and conduct. These guidelines have lasted for generations and are still applicable to our lives today. God desires that we follow these guidelines, not as mere obligation but because of our love for Him.
To a world which has seen hypocrisy, infidelity, dishonesty, and abuse in the Church, obligatory obedience to a set of guidelines only seems like “nonsense” they can do without. On the other hand, by making ethical decisions that are founded in love-love for God and others-Christians can demonstrate God’s unfailing love to a world in desperate need of it.
In this study, your students will realize that the Bible is the only standard by which we can measure our ethical decisions and base our actions. They will realize that God has established these rules to help us live in peace, not to, simply “spoil our fun. “instead, God has given us these guidelines to help us live in peace with each other.
The Basic Message: Explain to students…
• WHAT’S THE BIG IDEA? God’s Word must be our standard for determining right and wrong.
• WHY DOES IT MATTER? Those who don’t know God often define right and wrong in ways that conflict with the standards we see in God’s Word.
• HOW DO I LIVE IT? Define right and wrong based on God’s Word, not human standards, and let God’s commands guide your attitudes and actions.
Activity Option: MORAL DILEMMA
Write the following statement on the board: • Everyone should be able to live the way they want as long as they aren’t hurting anyone. • Lying, in all cases, is wrong. • Just because it is wrong for one person, doesn’t mean it is wrong for someone else. • In extreme cases, euthanasia is an act of mercy.
Discuss students’ reactions to these statements. Avoid deep discussion on the issues themselves. Instead, focus on the standards by which the students responded to the statements.
Guide: Explain that different cultures have bought into the belief that right and wrong are relative. In the opinion of those that uphold such cultures, there is no more absolute truth. Therefore, there is no standard by which every person’s actions can be judged. As for Christians, the Bible should be the standard by which all actions and attitudes are measured.
Study Overview: Explain that today’s study considers… • How God’s standards of right and wrong are the ultimate standards. • Why our motives should be considered, not simply the issue of right and wrong. • How our actions must be motivated by our love for God.
Inform and Discuss a). Accept God’s Standards of Right and Wrong
Guide: Read or ask volunteers to read Exodus 20:1-20. Explain that rules and guidelines bring structure and order. Even those who campaign for personal freedom in ethics agree to the need for some standards in the society. Without the structure provided by some form of behavioural standard, the world would end up in chaos. Then point out that the Ten Commandments were given by God to the Israelites as they were becoming established as a nation. These laws became the basis for conduct for the entire nation, and they still influence our laws today.
1.Why do some people reject the Bible as a standard of conduct
Hint: Some reject the idea of God in general. Others don’t understand the content. Some simply don’t want to be told what to do.
2. Read or ask volunteers to read Matt 19:16-21. What was Jesus answer to the young ruler’s question? [Hint: Obey the commands. Referring to the commands of the Old Testament.
Guide: Explain that Jesus’ sacrifice atoned for our sins, making the need for the Old Testament animal sacrifices obsolete. However, nothing in His life or teaching claimed to abolish both the standards for ethics and the behaviour in the Old Testament. The same directives for ethics that God gave in the Old Testament still apply today.
b). Check Your Motives
Guide: Read or ask a volunteer to read Matt 7:12. Explain that this verse, commonly known as the Golden Rule, creates a problem for some people. We all want to be treated well by others, but we may not always want to do what’s right.
1. What are some situations in which it might be difficult to do the right thing?
Hint: Lying or cheating when you know you won’t get caught, treating with kindness someone who has wronged you, deciding not to take revenge when you have the chance.
Guide: Read or ask a volunteer to read Rom 12:17-21. Explain that when we learn to treat others the way we want to be treated, and learn to treat even our enemies with kindness rather than revenge, then we can begin to live in peace.
2. What do you think might happen in our society if everyone determined to live by the Golden Rule? [Hint: There would be no more crime; everyone would get along; hunger and homelessness would be abolished.]
c). Love Must Motivate Our Action
Guide: Read or ask a volunteer to read Eph 5:1-2. Explain that motivation for our ethical choices should be love-love for God and love for others. As Christians, our choice to follow God’s command should come from a desire to imitate Him and His righteousness. We pursue righteousness because God is righteous.
1. What example did Paul give of God’s love for us in verse 2?
Hint: Christ gave Himself for us. His sacrifice for us was the ultimate act of love. As Christians, we should reflect the love of God to the world around us.
2. Discuss practical ways students can demonstrate God’s love to the people they come in contact with daily. Encourage them to give specific, concrete examples.
3. Read or ask a volunteer to read Gal 5:13-14. What is the command that Paul used to sum up the entire Law? Hint: Love your neighbour as yourself.
Guide: Explain that Paul is referring to more than just Christians here. He is giving us a challenge to live a life of love to everyone. As Christians, we represent the love of God in every relationship and circumstance.
Involve Them: WHAT IF…?
List the Ten Commandments on the board. Then read them one after other. As you read each commandment, have students describe briefly what happens when that law is broken. Then discuss the following question with students:
• Do you believe the Ten Commandments are less relevant, equally relevant, or more relevant today than in the Old Testament? [Allow responses]
Guide: Explain that the guidelines established by God thousands of years ago are still very relevant to our society today. God has established guidelines to allow us to live in peace and demonstrate His love toward one another.
Inspire Them: Remind students THE BASIC MESSAGE of this study(pg 39), even as you explain WHAT the Big Idea behind the study is; WHY it matters; and HOW we can live the lesson captured in this study.
Ministry Activity: UNANSWERED QUESTIONS

Explain that they need not write their names on the cards. When all the students have finished, collect the note cards. You may choose to read them out aloud, or simply take them home and read them in private. You may use the issues from the cards to develop deeper studies on these topics, addressing them in the future.
Teacher Hint: Ask Yourself…
1. Do students understand the need to establish ethical standard in line with the Bible?
2.Can they recognize appropriate motivations for ethical choices?
3. Can they explain the importance of showing love in ethical decisions?

A Scrum project involves a collaborative effort to create a new product, service, or other result as defined in the Project Vision Statement. Projects are impacted by constraints of time, cost, scope, quality, resources, organizational capabilities, and other limitations that make them difficult to plan, execute, manage, and ultimately succeed.
However, successful implementation of the results of a finished project provides significant business benefits to an organization. It is therefore important for organizations to select and practice an appropriate project management methodology.
Scrum is one of the most popular Agile methodologies. It is an adaptive, iterative, fast, flexible, and effective methodology designed to deliver significant value quickly and throughout a project. Scrum ensures transparency in communication and creates an environment of collective accountability and continuous progress.
The Scrum framework, as defined in the SBOK™ Guide, is structured in such a way that it supports product and service development in all types of industries and in any type of project, irrespective of its complexity.
A key strength of Scrum lies in its use of cross-functional, self-organized, and empowered teams who divide their work into short, concentrated work cycles called Sprints.
Scrum Cycle
The Scrum cycle begins with a Stakeholder Meeting, during which the Project Vision is created. The Product Owner then develops a Prioritized Product Backlog which contains a prioritized list of business and project requirements written in the form of User Stories.
Each Sprint begins with a Sprint Planning Meeting during which high priority User Stories are considered for inclusion in the Sprint. A Sprint generally lasts between one and six weeks and involves the Scrum Team working to create potentially shippable Deliverables or product increments.
During the Sprint, short, highly focused Daily Standup Meetings are conducted where team members discuss daily progress. Toward the end of the Sprint, a Sprint Review Meeting is held during which the Product Owner and relevant stakeholders are provided a demonstration of the Deliverables.
The Product Owner accepts the Deliverables only if they meet the predefined Acceptance Criteria. The Sprint cycle ends with a Retrospect Sprint Meeting where the team discusses ways to improve processes and performance as they move forward into the subsequent Sprint.

MEMORY VERSE: “But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:” – 1 Peter 3:15 (KJV)
BIBLE PASSAGE: Jude 3-4
3 Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.
4 For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.
LESSON INTRODUCTION: The English word apology comes from a Greek word that means “to give a defense.” Christian apologetics, then, is the science of giving a defense of the Christian faith. Many sceptics doubt the existence of God and/or attack belief in the God of the Bible. Some critics attack the inspiration and inerrancy of the Bible (2 Timothy 3:16) while false teachers promote false doctrines and deny the key truths of the Christian faith. The mission of Christian apologetics is to combat these movements and instead promote the Christian faith and truth.
LESSON OUTLINES:
REASON AND BIBLICAL INSTANCES WITH GENTLENESS AND RESPECT 1. REASON AND BIBLICAL INSTANCES
There is no excuse for Christians to be completely unable to defend their faith (Jude 3-4). Christians should know what they believe, why they believe it, how to share it with others, and how to defend it against lies and attacks (Colossians 4:6). We are all commanded to be ready and equipped to proclaim the gospel and defend our faith (Matthew 28:18-20; 1 Peter 3:15). The only way to do this effectively is to study why we believe what we believe (2 Timothy 2:15). This will prepare us to “demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ,” as Paul said we should (2 Corinthians 10:5).
Jesus was His own apologetic, as He often stated that we should believe in Him because of the evidence He provided (John 10:25; 10:38). In fact, the whole Bible is full of divine miracles that confirm what God wants us to believe (Exodus 4:1-8; 1 Kings 18:36-39; Hebrews 2:3-4; 2 Corinthians 12:12).
Paul practiced what he preached; in fact, defending the faith was his regular activity (Philippians 1:7). He refers to apologetics as an aspect of his mission in the same passage (v.16). He also made being an apologetic a requirement for all believers (Titus 1:9). Jude, an apostle of Jesus, wrote, “Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.” (Jude 3).
CLASS ACTIVITY 1: Apart from the above reasons, why do you think a Christian should defend his/her faith in this end time?
2. WITH GENTLENESS AND RESPECT
Defending the Christian faith as apologetics should never involve being rude, angry, or disrespectful (2 Timothy 2:24). While practicing Christian apologetics, we should strive to be strong in our defense and at the same time Christ-like in our presentation (Matthew 10:16; 1 Thessalonians 2:7). If we win a debate but turn a person even further away from Christ by our attitude, we have lost the true purpose of Christian apologetics (2 Corinthians 6:3).
CLASS ACTIVITY 2: Have you had any cause to defend your faith lately, how did you do it?
CONCLUSION: We are commanded to use apologetics in as many or more places as we are told to preach the gospel.
QUESTIONS:
Give three examples of people in the Bible that defended the faith. How should believers defend the faith? ASSIGNMENT: Mention five things you can do to defend the faith (2×5=10 marks).

A DISCIPLE has to be like His master in The Lord Jesus Christ was the Humility. Th Lord Jesus Christ was the embodiment of humility. He washed the feet of his disciples. He was born in a manger. He ate with people considered as “untouchable” like Zaccheaus, prostitutes etc. He also live with the poor.
Why Must We Be Like Our Lord In Humility?
This is because the way to conquer is the way to stoop. If you want to win, you must humble yourself. There is an example in 2 Kings 12:1-16, 6-8. This Story of a young king who went to seek the advice on how to answer the people who had come to inquire of him how his rule will be. The elders advised humble himself before the people and give them reply.
The king went again to seek the advice of the young men of his age and they advised him to tell something that would let them know how important he was. They advised him to tell them that if they thought his father was harsh, they hadn’t seen anything because he would do worse. He refused to humble himself and he later lost the kingdom.
But in the example of our Lord Jesus Christ, He went down seven steps in order to reach the highest point in the universe. Philippians 2:4-11.
STEP 1:In Philippians 2:4-11, the Bible says that even though Jesus was equal to God, He made Himself of no reputation – verse 7a.
STEP 2: He took upon Himself the form of a servant, verse 7b.
STEP 3: Even though He was God, He was made in the likeness of men – verse 7c.
STEP 4: He humbled himself even lower than the very creatures He created verse 8, John 1:1-3. Even being the creator, He didn’t come as a king among men, He chose to be born in a manger and into a poor family.
STEP 5: He became obedient. Someone who had been giving orders now had to take orders – vs. 8b.
STEP 6: He became obedient unto death. Many people can be obedient but not unto death.
STEP 7: His obedience was not only unto death but unto death on the cross. This is a shameful death, full of agony and pain (Galatians 3: 13).
Jesus Christ took seven steps down. The Bible says a result of this, God began to take Him seven steps up Philippians 2:9-11.
STEP 1: God highly exalted Him – verse 9a
STEP 2: God gave him a special name
STEP 3: God gave him a name that is above other name. eve
STEP 4: God gave Him the name Jesus, at the mention of which every knee in heaven should bow.
STEP 5: God gave Him the name Jesus, to which every knee on earth must bow.
STEP 6: God gave Him the name Jesus, to which every knee under the earth must bow
STEP 7: And that every tongue must confess the Jesus Christ is Lord.
WHY WE SHOULD HUMBLE OURSELVES
Humility is the way to go up. The way up actually the way down. The number of humble sty you take down will determine the number of steps O will lift you up. We discover that the humble can des any enemy. The easiest way to knock down a man b bend down and grab his feet. That is why the Jesus has to go down to the lowest part of the earth defeat Satan completely. In Revelation 1:18, the lord Jesus described this total victory saying,
@I am he that liveth, and was dead; and behold, I an alive for evermore, Amen and have the keys of hell and of death”
In other words. He has it all. He conquered not only death but also Satan who held the key of death. That is why the Bible said if they had known, they would not have killed the Lord of glory. The lower the centre of gravity, the more stable the object. That is why the saying goes that he that is down needs fear no fall. The foundation is the lowest part of a house. When the be use falls, the foundation remains. Even when a house burns down, the foundation escapes the fire. That is why the Bible says in Psalm 11.3 that when the foundation is affected everything is lost. Jesus is our Foundation and Chief Cornerstone (Revelation 21:14:1 Corinthians 3:111).
WHY IS THE HUMBLE INDESTRUCTIBLE?
The humble man, like the foundation, is quiet. The foundation is neither seen nor heard, yet it carries the greatest weight of the whole house. So is the humble man
In Isaiah 53 :5-6. Jesus is the burden bearer, bearing our sin and shame. Also in Proverbs 11:12. the Bible tells us that it is the empty vessel that makes the loudest noise: “He that is void of wisdom despiseth his neighbour but a understanding holdeth his peace.”
A man of understanding will hold his tongue, he doesn’t talk too much. ‘Silent rivers run deed’ Proverbs 17:27 says that:
“A man of knowledge spareth his words.” Verse 28 says: “Even a fool when he holds his peace is counted wise. And he that shutteth his lips is
esteemed a man of understanding”.
A humble man knows this and so he doesn’t want to be heard. When you talk too much, you reveal your secrets to the enemy. As seen in the story of Elijah on Mount Carmel. He said he heard the sound of much rain, and that was why he had to pray seven times before it was actualised.
When we say that the humble man is silent, we mean that he is silent to men, but he is vocal to God. Isaiah 40:31, the humble man is waiting upon the Lord, praising Him, thus renewing his strength (Isaiah 40:31).
HOW CAN ONE BECOME HUMBLE?
There are two ways in which you can become humble:
(1) Voluntarily:
John 4:10, “Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.”
If the Bible says humble yourself, it means that it is possible for you to be humble by yourself. You can do i by yourself.
(2) By Force:
(Deuteronomy 8:3) However, if you don’t want to be humble voluntarily, God can make you humble by force. The Bible says that God caused the people of Israel to wander for 40 years in order to humble and prove them. It is up to you to either humble yourself or be humbled by force. God can get you walking in circles until you know what humility is.
Take a decision to humble yourself. Ask for His Grace.

THERE must be love among disciples, and this love goes hand in hand with discipline. If you are in a denomination and you are so big that the leaders of such a denomination cannot correct you, you must relocate to where you can be corrected.
In a congregation where there is genuine, divine love, the following ‘brethren’ must not be spared:
(1) Those indulging in sin (2 Corinthians 13:2; 1 Timothy 5:20)
(4) Hinderers or those who slow down the propagation of the gospel (Acts 13:6-12)
(5) Deceivers and hypocrites (Acts 5: 1 – 11 )
WHY WE MUST BE FIRM WITH THESE PEOPLE
We must be firm with this kind of people because if we are not, they will gradually destroy the entire congregation. They will gradually introduce the killer germ’ into the congregation hence, they should be gotten rid of before they destroy the whole church.
Any of these brethren is like cancer in the body. If you locate cancer, and the affected area is removed, then there is hope for the rest of the body. That is what the Holy Spirit did to Ananias and Sapphires, so that the rest of the church can continue to grow, Jesus Christ said if your right hand will cause you to sin, cut it off, so that the rest of your body can go to heaven. He said you should do the same with your right eye.
Any brother or sister that will cause himself to be a cancer in the body of Christ must be dealt with.
The question now cones, Is it wise to put oneself under someone who can discipline you rather than enjoy your freedom?
The Bible let us know that it is wise to put yourself under someone who can punish you when you go wrong because of the following reasons.
DISCIPLINE BRINGS WISDOM
If anyone does wrong and is punished for his wrong doing, He will become wise. In Proverbs 29:15, the Bible says:
“The rod and reproof give wisdom, but a child left to himself bringeth his mother shame.”
In Proverbs 15:5, the Bible says:
“A fool despiseth his father’s instruction:but he that regardeth reproof is prudent.”
Proverbs 25: 5 also says:
“A fool despiseth his father’s instruction but he that regardeth reproof is prudent.”
If you take discipline whenever it becomes necessary, you must be a prudent fellow. As a matter of fact, the Bible says discipline is a desirable thing.
In Psalm 141:5, David said:
“Let the righteous smite me, it shall be a kindness, and let him reprove me, it shall be an excellent oil which shall not break my head.”
The Bible says if you are wise and somebody disciplines you, you will love the fellow. However, if you are foolish, you will hate him for it. Proverbs 9:8 says, “Reprove not a scorner lest he hate you, rebuke a wise man and he shall love thee.”
If you are disciplined and you hate the person who disciplines you, then you must know the type of person you are a scorner! but if you are a wise man, whoever disciplines you becomes your friend.
Those who are under a leader must joyfully receive discipline from him, and they must even fall in love with him for doing so.
HOW CAN THE LEADERS BE DISCIPLINED?
Now the question arises, ‘What about the leader himself? From whom will he receive his own discipline?’
Unfortunately, there is none except God. This is one of the reasons you must always pray for your leaders. If you make a mistake, your leader will punish you and God will leave you alone. In the case of your leader, there is nobody to punish him
For forty years, Moses led the children of Israel in the wilderness. Whenever they sinned, he would run to God to go and beg and God will forgive them. When Moses sinned only once, there was nobody to beg for him. And that was the end of his own story. In Revelation 2/1 God says that leaders are like stars in His hand. He is holding them like stars in His palm; they have nowhere to run to. If they make a mistake, all He has to do is close His hand. That will be the end of such a leader. He said, “Unto the angel of the church of Ephesus write: These things saith he that holdeth the seven stars in His right hand…”
The seven stars stand for the seven leaders in the Seven churches. God does not need to search for the leaders before He can catch then. It must be a good idea if only for two minutes, you pray for your leader, so that God will not destroy him.

Taking the definition of a disciple as an imitator, it follows logically that all disciples must follow Jesus the leader in all ways without any reservation. We must be like Him in love, simplicity, humility, boldness, holiness, in power, in zeal and in all ways. We must try to be like Him and even desire to be higher. We must start somewhere.
BEING LIKE JESUS IN LOVE
As an imitator of Christ we must be like Him in love. God is love, hence we take love first. Jesus is merciful, because He is love. All His characteristics is love. When Jesus came, He demonstrated love in many ways. For example, He carried little children and patted them in love.
As parents, we must love and care for our children as well as other people’s children. Our Lord had time for.
a weeping widow. He loved the lepers (Matthew 8:1-3). He touched the lepers with love. We must learn to shake hands with people of lower esteem than us. differentiate in love We must not
In Acts 10:38 the Bible says,
“How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with Him.”
in John 10:10 and Isaiah 53:5, Jesus Christ lived for us. He came and gave life abundantly. He died, that we may live. He became poor that we might be rich (II Corinthians 8 :9).
He is love as the Father is love (John 13: 35). As disciples of Jesus, it is only love for one another that makes us different from other people. Love can be demonstrated by giving, touching, embracing, weeping with those who weep and rejoicing with those who rejoice.
CHASTISEMENT AS AN ASPECT OF LOVE
“As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.“Revelation 3: 19.
“For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth. If ye endure
chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not. Hebrews 12: 6-7
God demonstrates His love by chastening. We must be chastened as true children of God. At times we are not chastened either because:
(a) We are too young in faith. For example, when a child wets his napkin, we treat him with love. When spiritual babes make mistakes we can overlook.
(b) We are bastards, that is, God has given up the person. Hosea 4:17 says, Ephraim is joined to idols: let him alone.
Love and discipline always go together. We must not always remain a baby in the Lord. The moment we want to be disciples, it means we want to be object of love and must be ready for discipline. DISCIPLE is derived from the word DISCIPLINE.
John 15:13-15; To be a disciple is to be a friend of Jesus. To be His friend means He will always scourge and discipline us. True discipline comes from a deep genuine love. The love of a father to the children which nobody can copy. A disciple must be a son and God must deal with him as a son. He must follow the father’s foot path (Hebrews 12:9-10).

DISCIPLINE AMONG DISCIPLES.
WHY MUST HE CHASTEN US?
(a) Like father, like son. He wants us to partake of His holiness, no compromise at all (Proverbs 13:24:23:13- 14. Psalm 89:30-33).
(b) It is the justice of God that no man shall suffer twice for the same offence (II Corinthians 5:14). Among disciples, there is always a spiritual head that has to discipline those who commit offences. If he disciplines someone here on earth, the sin is already stricken out in heaven. It is better to accept the chastisement and suffer here than to spend eternity in hell. Ezekiel 22/29 – 3 says that God’s people has offended Him but nobody to whom He can report, that He has to discipline them.
The real purpose of discipline in the church is that the spiritual leader could say: “Please Lord don’t mind them, I have punished them.” Little fellowships are sometimes endangered in this case because everybody is his own master, no discipline. A small fellowship is like a gathering without Break (1 Corinthians 5:7). There must be discipline becatite God is a consuming fire (II Corinthians 13:10).
Prayer! I am sorry for all the wrong things I have done in the past and for which I was not disciplined, let us forget the past let’s start afresh.
Father have mercy upon me and help me to be upright with you for evermore

MEMORY VERSE: “Man that is in honour, and understandeth not, is like the beasts that perish.” – Psalm 49:20 (KJV)
BIBLE PASSAGE: 3 John 2-4
2 Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.
3 For I rejoiced greatly, when the brethren came and testified of the truth that is in thee, even as thou walkest in the truth.
4 I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.
LESSON INTRODUCTION
After we surrendered our lives to Jesus, He gave us our redemption package. Inside this package is everything that will make life enjoyable. These things make Christianity delightful and beautiful. It is, therefore, expedient that we unfold our redemption package to enjoy its benefits.
LESSON OUTLINES:
REASONS FOR NOT ENJOYING THE REDEMPTION PACKAGE
UNFOLDING THE REDEMPTION PACKAGE
1. REASONS FOR NOT ENJOYING THE REDEMPTION PACKAGE
Certain factors may be attributed to the inability of a Christian to enjoy the benefits of redemption. Ignorance is one of them (John 8:32). These benefits are written all over the pages of the Bible. We must search them out to know them (John 5:39; Acts 17:11). Until we discover them, we cannot enjoy them (Isaiah 5:13; Hosea 4:6).
Another reason is that some Christians have been wrongly taught to be content with their present state. Sometimes you hear them say, “Thank God, I am saved: at least, I am going to Heaven.” Some Christians may decide to live and die like Lazarus: sick, afflicted, and poor; while others decide to live and die like Abraham; rich and healthy (Luke 16:20-21; Genesis 25:8-10). Do not be content with your present state, if it is not a pleasant one. We must revolt against lack, want, sicknesses, affliction, and any other thing that does not bring glory to God in our lives.
CLASS ACTIVITY 1: How can one enjoy the Redemptive package?
2. UNFOLDING THE REDEMPTION PACKAGE
Some of the things that accompany salvation can be broadly categorised as follows:
Deliverance: This is being set free from the power of darkness. This includes:
i. Deliverance from curses and evil covenants (Galatians 3:13; Romans 8:1).
ii. Deliverance from the spirit of fear (2 Timothy. 1:7). Fear has torment (1 John 4:18).
iii. Deliverance from demonic oppressions (Isaiah 49:24-26; Luke 10:19).
iv. Deliverance from the wrath of God (Romans 5:9; Ephesians 5:6).
Victory: This means triumphing, dominating, etc. (1 Corinthians 15:57). In the victory package is victory over:
i. Sin (Romans 6:14).
ii. Enemies (Isaiah 59:19).
iii. Devil (Revelation 12:11).
iv. Sickness and diseases (Exodus 15:26; Isaiah 53:4-5).
v. Death (both physical and spiritual) – Isaiah 28:18a.
Prosperity: Abundant provisions have been made for us (2 Corinthians 8:9; Job 36:11). However, some Christians are suffering, not because they are not saved, but because they are not meeting the conditions of the covenant of prosperity (sowing, giving, tithing, etc. -2 Corinthians 9:6).
CLASS ACTIVITY 2: Students should share with the class what changed in their lives since they gave their lives to Christ.
CONCLUSION: If we, as Christians, look mournful and sickly, it may be that we have not been claiming our redemption benefits. We must claim our redemption package. It is our covenant right.
QUESTIONS
Mention three reasons believers do not enjoy the redemption package.
Mention two benefits that believers can get from the redemption package
ASSIGNMENT: Write five redemption package benefits that you are enjoying. (2×5=10 marks).
